Management-how?

hi guys
I graduated in engineering stream some years back...then couldnt work bcos of health and private problems....this year I started to look for jobs again....I took training in SAP BW course and got job as consultant in one consulting co in europe(2 months back).I am on bench.
I started to realise that I want to see myself more in management roles than technical.....How can I steer my career from this point....doing BPX courses....or work with BW sometime then do management course or progress in career....
I lack experience and rolemodels to take advice...I will be thankful if any experienced people give thier opinions....
Regards,
NR

Rich and happy I can live with.  I'd just rather be happy than miserable.

Nice one - here's an alternative.
Money can buy a bed, but not sleep, - buy a sleeping pill/masseuse...
Money can buy a clock, but not time, - pay someone else to do what you've no time for - leaving you with more time to do what you actually enjoy
>Money can buy a book, but not knowledge, buy many books to give the impression of knowledge
Money can buy food, but not an appetite, an appetite helps but is not essential - and keeps you slim
Money can buy position, but not respect, - but it does get you power, the next best thing...
Money can buy blood, but not life, buy the right blood group
Money can buy insurance, but not safety,  - I'll hide in my nuclear bunker...
Money can buy AIDS, but not its Diognose, - but it'll buy you comfort and the latest drugs

  • User Management - How to submit Additional Access Request on behalf of employee

User Management - how can we configure "Access Requests" so that Managers can submit Additional Access Requests, or Initial Access Requests on behalf of employee?
Have looked at "Manage Proxies" but this seems to allow access to everything - not ideal
Please assist with knowledge and/or experience
    Many Thanks
    Me

Additional Access Request Registration Process is complete
Giving access to User Management to users is not an option.
What I would like is the scenario below - is this achievable?
When employee goes to iProcurement > Preferences > Access Requests > Request Access | they can submit an access request on behalf of themselves.
Would like an option where a manager, navigates to same UI as above, has option to choose a subordinate, and request additional access on their behalf
The table UMX_REG_REQUESTS has columns REQUESTED_FOR_USER_ID & REQUESTED_BY_USER_ID - so it seems they don't have to be same person (manager can submit request on behalf of an employee)
Can this be achieved through UI for "Access Requests"?

  • Vendor Master Management - How to make 'Corporate Group' field an autoupdat

Vendor Master Management - How to make 'Corporate Group' field an automatically updated field
    Frnz,
I am doing a Spend Analysis and thereby restructring some aspects of SAP and business processes. One of the intiatives is to leverage the 'Corporate Group' field in Vendor Master for getting the consolidated spend visibility at the corporate group level of vendors. So far this field wasn't been used to effect. I can update it manually, but the question remains is how do I do with the change management of the corporate group of large vendor base in the scenario of everhappening Mergers and Acquisitions. Are there any alternatives anybody can suggest ? (Like linking D&B numbers etc)
Thanks in advance for your suggestions..

    Hi Shiv,
Let me elaborate the purpose of using this field. I want to have a consolidated spend visibility across a corporate group which has multiple vendor codes. Its difficult everytime to group the spends of these vendors manually especially when the number of vendors are too high. Also sometimes the names of vendor companies may not indicate that these are from same corporate group but in fact they could be. In order to have the reports generated on corporate groups, I must maintain this field in vendor master or a Z table. But the problem here is, it should be possible to update this field as and when there are any mergers or acquisitions at vendor side and the corporate group of a particular vendor gets changed due to this. So this has to be effected in vendor master or Z-table automatically. I do know that there are certain agencies like Dunn & Brad (DNB) which provide possibly the details on corporate group of a company but its not fully effective for Indian Vendors as its not mandatory on them to have DNB number & also its a disconnected process and I was looking to connect it seamlessly to Corporate Group field so that I need not bother to update these things manually everytime. I also wanted to explore various possibilities of doing this.
I hope I have spelled it out correctly.

  • In warehouse management how to post stock in the warehouse by using physica

    hi
in warehouse management how to post stock in the warehouse by using physical inventory method
can anyone tell me the process in detail
    thanksin advance.

    HI ,
In Ware house management you can block the stock for Physical Inventory purpose. You cannot post the stock to the warehouse using Physical Invenory.
If there is a count going on so the concerned Warehouse bin is to be blocked during Inventory so that no further goods movement is possible during that period.
Once the Physical Inventory ids done the block can be released so that the movement can again happen.
The Inventory mangement initiates the transfer requirement. This transfer requirement is used for creating the transfer orders. The transfer order confirmation is done then which actually places the stock in the concerned bin mentioned in the order.
The stock in WM can be checked in LX24/ LX26 which is same as theat of MMBE of MM.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Prasanna

  • Backup management: how to update a Time Machine backup on a different Mac?

    Hello everyone,
I need some advice. I have a question, which I think is simple, but my situation is a bit complicated, so I am not sure about what to do.
I will try to describe it as simply as possible.
    There are 3 macs:
A: an old macbook (the white one)
B: a modern macbook pro (retina)
C: another modern macbook pro (TBD)
I am giving away B now; I expect to get C in 2 months time; I keep A with me all the time.
The goal is to migrate all of the data from B to C.
I have Time Machine backups of B.
Since the transition is a long time (2 months), I need to keep working on my data during this period. For this I will use A. This will generate new files, modify old ones, ...
Since A's HDD is much smaller than B's backup, I can move only part of them.
By the way, I have totally erased A and used migration assistant to restore part of my old data from B. So, when I use A now, I do it with my same account as in B (and the same I will use in C).
How do I manage my backups in such a way that, when I will get C, I can safely move all of the data I had in B plus all of the changes and modifications that I have done during the 2 month transition?
Can I just continue to use Time Machine (on A) to update the old backups? I am afraid that some mess could be created because the computers are different (before the backups were taken on B, while now on A), even the present data are different (because now A only contains a subset of the original B data, which I do NOT want to lose), the good point is that the user is the same.
Thanks for the patience to read through. If something is not clear I will be happy to explain better.

When you get MBP C and start it up for the first time you will be given the option to transfer data or not. You can transfer data from another Mac or from a backup such as Time Machine. The former requires that you be able to connect the two computers directly together either by Ethernet cable or by having both connected to a local Ethernet network. You can use wireless, but it's very slow compared to Ethernet, so I don't recommend wireless.
If you expect to perform the transfer from a Time Machine backup, then be sure to perform a backup of MBP B just before using it to transfer data to the new MBP C.
This same process can be used from MB A provided it is running Snow Leopard or later.
Also, see Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.

  • Work Management- how to use it?

How can I define a work manager?
in j2ee documentation i found that i can use it using someting like that
    InitialContext ctx=new InitialContext();
    Context envContext;
    envContext = (Context)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env");
    WorkManager wm=(WorkManager)envContext.lookup("wm/TestWorkManager/");
my problem is that in don't know how to define it and where
The documentation provided here does not help me enough...http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28956/workcont.htm

The Work Manger refered in the Oracle documentation is part of the JCA contract between an application server and a resource adapter. So this Work Manager is only available for a JCA 1.5 resource adapter implementation.

  • What is ALERT Management.how to use it?

what is ALERT Management. what is it's use.how to do ALERT Management?

    HI
Alerts within XI give us a simple way to monitor only those errors that we want to and send alert messages to different people depending on the alert category.
Alert configuration is used to have the system inform you of errors during message processing.
By using the Alert Framework, central monitoring can be provided with all errors reported during message processing in ABAP and Java. This enables an improved reaction to such errors in both the ABAP runtime and the Java-based Adapter Engine. For this purpose, the Alert Framework is provided with rules based on certain events and on information from the header of the message protocol. These rules determine whether alerts are send or not.
    Alert Configuration:
    1) An Alert is a notification informing its recipients that a critical or very important situation has arisen. The
situation is as severe that an action must be taken immediately in order to resolve the situation. The
system recognizes the situation and sends the Alert.
    2) We use the Alert Configuration to have the system inform you of errors during message processing. we
can receive the Alert by e-mail, fax, or SMS.
    3) To configure your Alerts, proceed as follows:
    a) Create the Alert Categories that we want to use in our Alert Rules.
    b) Create the Alert Rules in which we want to use our Alert Categories
    4) An Alert is an instance of an Alert Category
    5) Alert Categories can be defined by applications or customers using the Alert Category definition
environment, which is accessed in Transaction Code ALRTCATDEF
    6) The Structure of Alert Category is defiened by the following
    a) Technical key (language-independent) for identification purposes
    b) Description (language-dependent)
    c) Classification
    d) Priority
    e) Maximum number of deliveries. (This applies to delivery to a destination other than the alert
    inbox.)
    f) Expiry time (in minutes) after which the alert is deleted
    g) Escalation recipient to whom the alert is sent if it is not confirmed by any of its recipients
    h) Tolerance time before escalation
    i) Short text, long text, and title
The title is used as mail title, fax subject, and alert title in the inbox. The long text is used as
mail/fax body and the long text view in the inbox. The short text is used for pager and SMS.
    j) Container for variable definition if variables are to be used in the texts, or for other application-
    specific attributes
    k) Subsequent activities in the form of URLs

  • Project Manager: How to include the Trash as an Exclude Path

I'm delving deep into the wonders of the Project Manager. Wondering if there's any way to add the Trash (on any drive) as an "exclude path" so that I can prevent the PM from going 'dumpster diving' for files in there.
While on the subject of trash (OT) I really miss the OS9 trash scheme where you had an actual desktop icon for the trash. Also, when you'd open the trash in OS9 to see what was in there, a tally of the total MB/GB of trashed files would be displayed in the finder window. But not in OSX (why?!?!). Anyway, does anyone know how to achieve either a desktop icon and/or a file-size count of trashed items in OSX?
    Thanks, and Happy New Year!
    -=iS=-

    Surrrrrrre Dahlin'.
Somebody in this forum said, it's the time of Red Red Wine.
I am following this advice. Wait, is that party over already?
Truly, the PM being as powerful of a tool it is, sometimes needs our (human) input to get it back in shape. Even the PM preferences DO GET STALE over time.
One SI after another started to load really slow over here. Sometimes I even had multiple choices from where to take the samples from. Now I know, that I have some duplicates with all my drives attached, but PM designs a structure regarding where to look first. So, I re-scanned those folders concerned. Sure enough, no more "duplicates" messages and loading time was great again. Except for files I did not access since a long time, or files I never loaded.
Yes, I trashed my PM preferences (user/library/preferences/Logic PMData).
Did go to Window > Project Manager > Functions > Expanded Scan, with all my drives attached.
    Then I went to bed.
The next morning, I saved the PM data, quit LP, restarted my computer and... voilá: EXS loading times are up to speed again.
All under the influence of Red Red Wine.
    It works well.
    Summary:
Set up as explained above, go to sleep and be amazed about the power of the PM.
    No punishment involved.
    Tschüß.

  • Performance Manager - How to purge ALL metrics?

Is there a way that I can purge all the metrics within Performance Manager without having to go and select one metric item at a time and purging it?

    Hi Gavin,
Via DM, selecting individual metrics and purging them is the only way, and as per desribed in the post above.
However, though not recommended at all, and should be done with extreme caution... You can truncate the CI_PROBE_VALUES table in the repository, but you will also need to update the CI_PROBE table by setting the refresh dates again. This process also entails stoping the AAxxx servers and restarting them after you truncated and updated the tables. Again CAUTION, but it can be done.
Then, there is the other way using the PMDT tool. Again you need to understand how and what it is capable of. You will export all the assets to the XML files. Remove the universe(s) in the setup tab and add it again. Then import the XML files with the assets again into the repository. Remember, removing the universe(s) is as good as reseting the repository...
Also, depending to what extent you are using EPM, choose these methods carefully. Else start clicking away and purging them individually...
    Regards
    Jacques

  • 2012 R2 RDS Shadowing from Server Manager - how to view client computer names

    Hello,
I have a 2012R2 RDS session based deployment. We have a few generic user accounts for a production environment where a group of users uses the same username to start multiple RDS sessions. This creates a bit of a challenge when support has to shadow one
of those sessions because they all appear with the same name: domain\username. The Connections pane in RDS (Server manager) does not list client computer name, which would be the distinguishing factor. The old version of the RDS console (remote
desktop manager) had this information. Citrix appears to have it as well. Is there a way around this limitation in 2012R2 Server Manager?
    Thanks

    Hi,
As far as I know, there are two ways.
    1. Use the Task Manager. In the Users Tab, you can see the client name.

    2. Use the Terminal Services PowerShell Module. With the Get-TSSession in PowerShell, we can get the detailed information.
