Management Pack Templates - Unix/Linux Service template error

Hello,
When I try to run this template I get the following error.
The Page [Microsoft.SystemCenter.CrossPlatform.UI.Authoring.ServiceTemplate.ServiceStateProbePage] in the assembly [Microsoft.SystemCenter.CrossPlatform.UI.Authoring] could not be loaded.  Please make sure that hte account you are running under has
sufficient privileges to load the given assembly, or the management pack that defines this page is installed or hte assembly containing the page is in hte path of the executable or that the page derives from known Operations Manager page type.
I tried this from my Computer and the Management server with the same result.   My account is in the Ops Admin role and I have no issues creating any of the other templates.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Walter

Just I case anyone else runs across this.
The Online Catalogue UNIX/Linux MPs are only for SCOM 2007 R2. With SCOM 2012 and above we went with Management Pack Bundles [MPBs] and the Online Catalogue does not support them. To get the latest MPs and agents for UNIX/Linux on SCOM 2012 you need to go
to the Microsoft Download Center and search for "System Center 2012 Monitoring Pack for UNIX and Linux Operating Systems". The current release is UR2 which can be found here -->
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29696
This release includes the following:
4/9/2013 - Update release - version 7.4.4119.0 - includes agents with version: 1.4.1-270
The Microsoft.Unix.Service.Library.mp is installed by default with SP1 and we don't expect it to be uninstalled. The Update Releases [UR] only contain MP/Bs that have changed so Rob is correct in that the only place you will find this MP is with the SCOM
2012 SP1 RTM release.

  • Credentials to management pack templates - Service monitoring

    Hello,
    I'm trying to see the list of services in a server to use the "management pack templates" in scom 2012 r2, but i'm getting the following error.
    My action account don't have the necessary permitions to enter in the server. Where can i change the credentials to be used in this operation?
    Thank you,
    Rui

    From my experience in monitoring Windows Service, we should provide a service name and it is a easy way if we can select a service in another computer from slect windows service dialog box. In reality, our user account has no privileges in opening Service
    Control Manager on target computer. My workaround solution is asked user to provide the service name. User can dump the service name by double click the service in services console.

  • Service monitoring is not showing all the services when i create a service monitor under Management pack templates.

    Hi All,
    I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 in my environment. I want to do a service monitoring on specific agents. When i try creating this service monitor which comes under the Management pack template  when i select the service which i want to monitor it does not
    show all the services in the drop down.
    For example - I have Windows audio service which is present on the machine, But it is not showing in the service list.
    So from the services stating from "W" i see only 5 in SCOM and in services.msc in the Agent i see more than 5.
    Below is the screen shot.
    Can any one please help.

    Hi Yan Li,
    So based on your above suggestion, If the services are already managed  / monitored by a specific
    management pack those services will not appear here in the Wizard while creating this type of a Management pack object alert right ?
    If that is the case why does not the same reflect here in the operations console in the Services monitor
    TAB ?

    SCOM 2007R2 unix/linux service monitor setup - cannot discover service under /etc/init.d

    Can you give a few more details on what you have tried, and what didn't work for you? Were you stepping through the wizard to monitor a Linux/UNIX service and something went wrong? Or did you successfully create the service monitor in the wizard, but it
    didn't trigger if the monitored process terminated?

  • Operations Manager 2012 R2 Unix/Linux agents installation

    Hi!
    I want to monitor some Linux (RH6) servers with Operations manager 2012 R2. I successfully imported necessary management packs… and then I’m lost. I cannot discover Linux clients
    from console. And I can’t find good guidance how to deploy and manage Linux clients. Can anyone direct me to any step-by-step guidance?
    And, do I need certificates on SCOM and on Linux clients?
    Thanks,

    To discover and monitor linux client, you can refer to below link

  • Are we missing any Management Packs for newly installed services/applications

    Hello!
    Would it be possible to get a report or alarm when new server roles, services, applications etc. are installed on the monitored Windows Servers in SCOM 2012 SP1, but there are no Management Packs installed to monitor the new services?
    For example on a newly provisioned Windows Server, the customer installs SQL 2008, but we don’t have the SQL 2008 SCOM Management Pack. How can we get a notification that we have a new Service installed there but no MP to monitor it.

    Hi,
    Based on my knowledge, it’s a little difficult.
    I recommend you use SCOM to monitor a txt which create by sc query command.

  • SCOM 2012 SP1 - Trying to import Unix / Linux Management packs - need help

    Hello all, I am using SCOM 2012 SP1.   I am trying to install the following management packs for Unix/Linux:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29696
    When I try to do so, it says that I'm missing some dependent management packs.  Two main ones it looks like:
    Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library - Version 7.1.10000.0
    Microsoft.SystemCenter.OperationsManager.Library - Version 7.1.10000.0
    However, I cannot figure out where to get these two other management packs from.  I've been googling for an hour now and I'm starting to go in loops.  Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to get this updated version of these two management
    packs listed above please?

    For Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library , you can check below link
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29266
    For Microsoft.SystemCenter.OperationsManager.Library, it's already deployed with SCOM installation
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212701.aspx

    Mai Ali | My blog: Technical
    That link for WS Management looks like its the "Microsoft.SystemCenter.OutofBand.SMASH.Library" management pack.  It does not appear to be "Microsoft.SystemCenter.WSManagement.Library"
    Also, about the "Microsoft.SystemCenter.OperationsManager.Library" one, I do have a version of that in my SCOM already.  It appears to be version 7.0.9538.0 though.  Apparently theres a version 7.1.10000.0 out there somewhere, based on what I saw
    in the messages above when attempting to import the Unix/Linux MPs.   I don't know how to update this management pack.  I tried searching the catalog for "Microsoft System Center Operations Manager Library" but that didn't find any results.
    So I still do not have either of the versions I need of either management packs.

  • UCS Management Pack for System Center 2012 OpsMgr add monitor wizard error

    We're successfully using the 2.6.0.179 version of the UCS Management Pack for System Center 2012 Operations Manager in our 2012 SP1 OpsMgr environment; however, in the new 2012 R2 OpsMgr environment we've stood-up and in which we installed the 2.6.2.0 version of the UCS MP, we're getting an error when trying to run the Add Monitoring Wizard under the Management Pack Templates node of the Authoring pane. We get the same error from the 2.6.1.0 version of the UCS MP as well. The text of the error is as follows:
    "The page [Cisco.UCS.MP.UI.Proxy.Template.Page.ProxyDetailsPage] in the assembly [Cisco.UCS.MP.UI.Culture="",PublicKeyToken="6c96076cdf2c87a",Version="2.6.0.0"] could not be loaded. Please make sure that the account you are running under has sufficient privileges to load the given assembly, or the management pack that defines this page is installed or the assembly containing the page is in the path of the executible or that the page derives from known Operations Manager page type."
    I'm an admin user in OpsMgr, so this should not be a user privilege issue, and that leaves the MP itself. The fact that a 2.6.0.0 version is mentioned makes me wonder if the base version of the MP must be installed before the 2.6.2 version. I'd test this, but we no longer have that version, and its no longer available for download from Cisco that I can see.
    Has any dealt with this issue successfully, or have any insight into the problem?

    Solved...the requirement is that you must do the MP configuration from the SCOM console on the SCOM Management Server where you installed the Cisco UCS MP; you can't do it from a SCOM console on a remote computer like I was trying to do.

  • Exported SCSM Default ServiceManager.RunbookActivity.Configuration Sealed management pack but unable to import later

    Hi,
    I exported SCSM default ServiceManager.RunbookActivity.Configuration Sealed management pack and remove it from SCSM. Later when I tried to import back the xml file it shows me this error.
    Is there anyway to reinstate the original Sealed management pack?
    Thanks
    Jeron@Microsoft Technet

    This error message is often related to missing the tag ManagementPublicKeyToken within the category tag. If you seal a MP but without defined the token then Service Manager will complain like this. And obviously the token and key must match.
    What happens if you insert your keytoken value into the MP, seal it with your own key and then import it?
    Somewhat like below:
    <Categories>
    <Category>
    <ManagementPackVersion>xxx</ManagementPackVersion>
    <ManagementPublicKeyToken>tokenhere</ManagementPublicKeyToken>

  • The Management Pack Import Failed - Upgrading to R2 and SCVMM 2012

  • The selected management pack cannot be deleted.

    I'm having problems deleting a custom management pack in SCOM 2012. The error is the following:
    The selected management pack cannot be deleted. This might be because it is currently being deleted or it has already been deleted. If you think this message is in error, try again later.
    Any ideas?

    I face the same problem in SCOM 2012 SP1
    The selected management pack cannot be deleted. This might be because it is currently being deleted or it has already been deleted. If you think this message is in error, try again later.
    I only have the problem with one unsealed MP.
    I can delete other sealed MPs and import them again. So I hope my environment with DB is working well.
    I also have deleted all overrides for this pack (in the same MP/xml because it is unsealed), restarted the DB-Server and the SCOM Management Server and also started the SCOM console with switch "/clearcache". All without success
    Any idea how I can remove this MP from my SCOM environment.
    Remark:
    I tried the idea from AndreasZuckerhut
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/166c3560-c3ae-4510-8e25-1b6f1b57e3bc/unable-to-delete-mp-in-scom-2012?forum=operationsmanagermgmtpacks
    created an own MP with the same ID but a newer version and started the "Import Management Pack"  from the SCOM -Management GUI.
    This time I got the Import-error  called  "The transaction log for database 'OperationsManager' is full due to 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'.  I also see the same eventlog entry 9002 on the SQL-Server System.  Could this be also an hint to
    the upper problem of an failed deletion of an MP?  A guide how to solve this is on
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/380879/About-transaction-log-and-its-truncation-in-SQL-Se . But I not tried it yet whether it solves the problem. I will ask an SQL expert first and will note the result here later.

    successfully imported into Service Manager 2012 and have it show a status of 'Completed'  the Service Manager 2012 Data Warehouse 'Management Pack' view.
    Nothing useful in the
     Service Manager 2012 Data Warehouse and Management servers events logs that we could see.
    Any help or guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Regards,
    JJ

    Update: I Just tested with CU2 installed for SrvMgr 2012 and OpsMgr 2012 and version 14.3.38.2 of the Exchange 2010 management, but the management pack still fails to deploy to the SrvMgr 2012 data warehouse (the management pack status shows
    up as 'failed' and the MPSyncJob shows the management pack as 'pending association').  The only clue I have for this problem is the folllowing warning which occurs when I import the management pack into SrvMgr 2012...
    I also get the following 33519 Event ID warning in the Operations Manager event log on the data warehouse server...
    ~~~~~
    Management pack association ignored. This does not require any action. If you continue to frequently see this warning, contact your administrator. This process will continue to retry.
    Management pack ID: e2296ed5-ddbc-ebc7-3881-c5288adaa7cf
    Management pack name: Microsoft.Exchange.2010
    Management pack version: 14.3.38.2
    Data source name: SRV
    Message: Either the MP has failed deployment Or any of its references has failed deployment
    ~~~~~
    Has anyone had success with getting the Exchange 2010 management pack imported and successfully deployed to the SrvMgr 2012 data warehouse?
    The good news is that even though the Exchange 2010 management pack has a status of failed, the distributed applications in OpsMgr 2012 that depend on the Exchange management pack now show up under Configuration Items/Business Services including
    all related service component objects which was what I was trying to accomplish in the first place, so for now I'll just leave the Exchange 2010 management pack in the data warehouse with a failed status.

  • How to change management pack in incident template in scsm

    We have created customized incident management pack and import that to scsm.Created templates using the this managementpack now i got request to edit or delete some Class properties in the customized managment pack.I have exported the management pack and
    trying to edit the Class properties but those are Grey out.
    Please let me know that how can i Edit or Delete the Class Properties in Customized management pack.
    And Also let me know that i have created Templates using Customized management pack if i delete that mp and import a new mp in to SCSM how can i update the template with new mp.I tied to chnage the management pack in template but it is greyout.
    Regards, H@ri

    In which management pack are your class extension stored? Is this a sealed management pack (did you seal the management pack)? If it is a sealed MP than you have to modify the unsealed MP and seal it again with the same key.
    If you export a sealed MP from SCSM it will be an unsealed copy of the MP but it doesn't work to modify this exported MP. So this is not an option.
    If you want to delete custom properties in a MP you have to make sure that these properties aren't in use in the templates or work items.

    Hi,
    What is your operational manager version? Did you add the action account the local admin group of linux and unix?
    I would like to suggest you get the newest management pack for linux and unix.
    In addition, here is a thread with the same error, hope it can be helpful:
