Management report - Role analysis

Hi guys,
So here's my issue, I inadvertently scheduled a role analysis without specifying the project roles which are about 200 +.  Thus, role analysis under the management report view constantly shows the  results of the analysis of about 2000 + roles which is a combination of both SAP delivered roles and project roles. Every subsequent batch and full syncs I've scheduled seemingly gets aggregated with the initial sync which has all the SAP delivered roles.
Question.
1. I understand I have to purge the database at the backend. The basis team strongly advices against this. Can I possibly purge the role analysis in the CC front end? What are my options here? I only want to see the role analysis of our 200 + project developed roles.

Dear Adewale,
I understand your requirement, please check the following.
There are two ways to see Role based Risk Analysis, and both depends upon your requirements.
1) Suppose, You have a requirement to see consolidated Role based Risk Analysis of a particular system. That means you want to generate a report for all the roles and want to see which roles are violating, mitigated, critical, high, medium and low in your system. For this you can go to Informer tab and generate Role based Risk Analysis Report.
In this report the advantage is that you get a pie chart and bar graph. But you can not generate reports on the basis of some particular roles, because there is no such functionality provided in CC 5.2
2) In other case if you wish to generate a Role based Risk Analysis report by specifying a condition like (z*), Here you also have option to select Report Type, risk Level etc  but yes, there is no functionality to see the result in graphs or charts in CC 5.2
So in both ways your requirement to generate project roles risk analysis report in graph format can not be achieved. For this you only have two options.
1. Raise an enhancement request to SAP Support.
2. To go with the second option mentioned above, select report type to be management summary and export the results to excel and generate graphs manually.
I understand this is painful.

  • RAR - management view - Role Analysis diagram shows zero

    Hello,
we were able to run the Full Sync for role/user/role and Batch Risk Analysis user/Role/Profile and Critical Acess to completion successfully.
In the Informer tab, Managerment View, the risk Violations and Users Analysis shows reasonable figures. However the Role Analysis , it shows zeros for the risk violations and risk violations for user and roles.
Could someone point out where is likely the problem so i could go and check ?
    Thanks

    Hi Lee,
Have you run Management Report Job as well?

    Hi
We are facing the following issues
    A) In the RAR 5.3, Informer tab > Management view > Role analysis > SOD section - against field
Month /Year , No values are determined in the drop down
    B) Further, No data is displayed after selecting button 'Go' in the SOD section  ( 0's are displayed)
    Thanks

    HI Harleen & Alpesh
As mentioned by you, the issue is due to the problem in running the background jobs.
For this, I have followed the steps mentioned by Harleen in the below mentioned thread, after which the jobs are completed and i could able to get the data in the informer tab ( Risk/ Role/ User Analysis)

  • Role analysis report not displaying data

    Hi experts,
I'm trying to get data out of all reports from the dashboard and so far all of them work except for the Role Analysis report. When I execute the report all information comes blank and under "Number of Roles Analyzed" shows 0. Is there any way to farther test this report? I see a lot of information on the community but mainly the solutions are "execute job sycn" and check parameter 1025 for default ruleset. Is there any other thing I can do to get results here?
Note: I also try generating all roles, running an all system risk analysis and just fyi SOD is working for User and Role level.

Screen is attach, as far as steps go well after running Authorization Synch, Repository Synch and Action Usage Synch from SPRO I went to NWBC ->Reports & Analytics and under Access Dashboards I click on "Role Analysis" and I get the attach screen.  All the other reports under Access Dashboards works (except for "Alerts") but Im guessing thats because I dont have any alerts or something like that.  Any help is always appreciated

  • Role Analysis at Action Level - Summary Report - Question

When running the Role Analysis Summary report at the Action Level, will the report show tcodes  that run in the background   from the tcodes specified in the role on the report?

    Hi Varun,
Does this also apply on alert monitor report - say we have one tcode defined as critical action or is in one SOD risk, and the tcode is run indirectly, will it show in alert or not?
Example, we have seen one tcode showing as executed, but the user authorization doesn't have the tcode access at all. So I was wondering how did it come in alert report.

  • Role Analysis Report

I'm a user of the GRC 10.0 module, and have a question around the role analysis report.  I’ve run a risk analysis violations report, and noted SoD/violations for 1169 roles, out of 35214 total roles (see attached screenshot).  That said, my understanding is that some of these ‘violations’, by risk category, could in fact be false positives? Is this correct? If correct, how do we know for certain that there are role violations for the 1169 roles? Is there another maneuver, report or analysis we can do to assure us that we’re looking at 1169 roles with real violations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Joe,
As Alessandro suggested, you need to run Access risk analysis reports on role level.
It will show you what exactly is the violation and at what level.. at action, permission, critical action, critical permission et al.
This report will even let you see the corresponding risk IDs, Rule IDs and risk criticality levels like medium/hig/critical and so.
    Hope this is clear now

  • BW Reporting Role management

    Hi,
We have BI Reporting roles in which we publish new queries from Query designer.
Currently BI Developers develop a query in Dev Box and publish it to relevant role and transport both query and role to PRD box.
But now Power Users are allowed to create their own queries directly in PRD box and publish in role  (Those queries are not available in Dev box)
Now as a developer as per new requirement I am developing a query in Dev box and published it to the role (same role to which power users published their queries in PRD box)
Currently Role is not consistent between Dev & PRD as in PRD where will be more queries published to it
What will happen when I transport the role with a new query to PRD is it going to over write all the queries published to it
    Thanks

    Hi,
Best solutioni in your case would be develop the Query in Development but Publish it to role only in Production after Transport.
This will remove any issues of overwrite etc.
Another way could be time to time you tranport back the Roles/Queries to Dev System

  • GRC 5.3 - Management Report Error: Cannot assign an empty string to host..

Good day Kiran Kandepalli and Others.
I have successfully executed the background jobs -
Full User, Role, Profile Synchronization & a
    Full Batch Risk Analysis
When I run the Management Reports I receive the following error -
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
Has anybody had this error message before?
When I check table VIRSA_CC_PRMVL, variable 10 is set to No in Nullable collumn.

    Hi Sahad,
Thanks for your response.  I have checked the usr02 table and logs and do not see any empty fields or strings.  This process worked for 5.2 but fails in 5.3.  Here is the excerpt from the log for the Management Report run.  It seems to fail consistenly at a certain point.  If I knew what the batch job was looking for in host variable 10 I might be able to resolve the problem.  It seems to fail when it starts to report on users.
    Thanks.
    Dan.

We are on GRC 5.3 support pack 4.  Has anybody encountered this error? What does host variable 10 refer to?

I checked our USOBT_C table and we have a lot of empty values. If this is allowed to be empty in SAP and this is the table that is uploaded into CC, why would all the fields in CC tables then be defined as NOT NULL?  We suspect that since we had uploaded USOBT_C under 5.2 and if this had been an issue before, it may have been corrected when we upgraded to 5.3 but then the old data is still in our system. Is there an easy way to get around or correct this?
    Thanks.

  • Management report doesnt show violations at user level.

    Dear all,
I have a problem that the management report in 5.3 SP04 doesnt show violations at user level. At role level it works fine.
I've tried full sync and generated a new management report. The problem remains.
    No. of Users Analyzed 859
Users with no Violations 859 100%
    Users with Violations 0 0%
    Number of Roles Analyzed 2,986
Roles with no Violations 2,510 84%
    Roles with Violations 476 16%

    Hi Vit,
Follow both the notes mentioned by Sahad. Check the data in virsa_cc_prmvl table. Run the following script and see if you can see any data:
    select * from virsa_cc_prmvl where genobjtp=1
If you don't have any data then there was some issue with user analysis so you will have to run the analysis again. If there is data then run the management report again and you should see the data.

  • CC 5.1:Incorrect Management Report

    Hi All,
I have the following 2 queries:
    1. I have created one user 2 days  ago in production system
and assigned SAP_ALL profile. There are 2 background
jobs scheduled to run daily and those are:
        1.User/Role/Profile Synchronization (Incremental)
        2.User/Role/Profile/Critical Actions Batch Risk Analysis
(Incremental) with Management Report option selected
I have been monitoring these jobs daily and these job are running fine and are in Ready status.
However much to my surprise, the number of violations have not been increased inspite of assigning SAP_ALL profile! Earlier, when I assigned SAP_ALL profile to any user on temporary basis, CC immediately increased the number of SOD violations to 2 or 3 times what already is available.
FYI: when I am doing user analysis from Informer Tab,
the user Id what I have created is properly shown. If I
select "Critical Roles/Profiles" as  Report Type, its showing
that this user is assigned SAP_ALL profile. However what
I expect is that SOD violations should also increase in
Informer Tab. Otherwise, the results shown by CC are not
    reliable.
Kindly suggest me any work arounds.
2.When we run these reports, in Informer tab, CC shows all
SOD violations based upon certain criterion. But my
question is: Is there any way by which we can determine
like what changes have been made to what objects (Users
Roles or Profles) during a particular period of time, lets
        say during last two days?
Hope somebody would answer or suggest!
    Thanks and Regards,
    Faisal

Is SAP_ALL set as a critical role/profile and if so are you deliberately excluding critical roles/profiles from standard reports via configuration?

  • CC Management Reports background job- no results

I am conducting testing in CC and as part of that I have run the the background job to update Management Reports. The reports were already populated for September. I made changes to users in October and have run the job to populate the report today 4th October. The job is showing that it has completed successfully but when I go to run the risk Violation report for October, 10/2007 is not appearing in the month/year field. Does anybody know why October values are not displaying?

You need to run the Incremental Updates first, one at a time starting with Users and then roles & profiles.  Make sure that Users has completed before starting the Roles and profile jobs otherwise they can crash.
When these increments have completed, start running the Risk Analsysis increments jobs again 1 by 1, that way if you have any issues you do dnot lose the whole batch run, only one element.
Only after the risk analyses have completed do you start the Management Report job.
Please note that some of these jobs could take over 24hrs to complete.
Also it is best to log off anf on once the management report job has completed to see the updates.

  • Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - DAS, IR and Job Services Replication..

    Dear All,
We are on Hyperion System 9.3.1 on Windows box and Repository in Oracle 10g Database. We have around 300 Interactive scheduled jobs.
When these jobs are getting executed Hyperion Services are getting hang and In logs we are getting "Process out of memory..".
In order to overcome "Process out of Memory.. Exiting" error. We need to replicate DAS, Interactive Reporting and Job Services on the same machine.
I am doing Hyperion's IR, DAS, JOB Services Replication in Development environment. To achieve the same I performed the following tasks :
    # I have installed and configured Hyperion System 9.3.1 below components on MS Windows XP professional SP2 and Repository in Oracle 10g database.
    Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1
Hyperion Reporting and Analysis BI+ Services
Hyperion Reporting and Analysis UI+ Services
    Every thing was configured fine.
    # To replicate the IR, DAS and Job Services. I started the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis BI+ Setup on the same machine then I select IR, DAS and Job Services.
    # Next I started Configuration Utility. Which ask me to configure Database. I selected the same database which I used for BI Services previously. Database Configuration was successful.
    # I changed the Port as below
Core Services to 7801 instead of 6801
Chaged the port for Job Service 7796 instead of 6796.
    # Next started Service Configurator where System was showing one more Job Service (JF2_<hostname>) in Remote Service Configurator. And in Local Service Configurator System was showing new BI and DAS. Then I configured Data Sources in DAS.
    # Started the Services.
Next I started the Scheduled Jobs. It is taking same time as earlier. In logs it is showing that Only JF2_<hostname> Service is getting used. System is not using JF1_<HOSTNAME> anymore.
I have few query regarding this.
    1) Why Configuration Utility didn't ask for GSM host and Port? Do I need to configure it manually?
    2) I have not chaged the port for DAS and IR Services. my concern is regarding port usage by new DAS and IR Services ? Do I need to configure it or It will be managed by system itself?
Please show me the direction. Any help would be highly appreciable.
    Regards,
    Manmohan Sharma

We have replicated the Hyperion Reporting and Analysis Services by changing the port number of Replicated Services to non-default port.
    Services are working fine.
