Management Tool Server.app keeps complaining

Hello erverybody,
who else has seen this:
this is the result after a complete new installation! This is just unbelieveable! Hourly the processor jumps suddenly, but what makes me really mad is this sad sad excuse of an Management Tool. Even after a new installation of the server and using the latest Server.app to manage the OS X Server the one window keeps poping up basically saying that there were errors (YES plural!) - what?! No matter if I start the tool on the server itself or if it's executed from my MBP. I stuffed the Macmini from 2011 with as much RAM as possible (16GB). It's equiped with an i7 CPU - that should handle the tasks with ease!? What is wrong here?

Hello Kevin,
as much as I understand your argument, since this is the recommended art-form anyway, as much I have to reject it, since this was a start from scratch, on a supportet hardware-plattform, too! On a completely fresh installation without any legacy whatsoever, your really believe that there's a necessity to look at the console tons of logs reporting an error?! This is redicilous - I am sorry.

  • Remote management via Server app authentication issues

I am having issues with server app.  I can login to my home server if I choose the "other computer" option and input the IP address of the server and respective authentication information, but if I acutally choose server that appears in the "manage" screen, server.xxxxxx.private, the authentication fails.  Go figure.  I also had this issue when I when to bind our other computers to the server.
    What could cause this issue?

I figured it out!  I had to add the IP of the server as a DNS Server in Network preferences Advanced Tab.  Also binding worked as well when I did this.

  • HT4814 Is it possible to manage the mac mini server with server app before set up?

The article says using the server app I need to enter the IP address, then the Administrator name and password, but obviously on the first boot these are not configured yet. The article does not mention if this is possible or the server.app can only manage the server after its initial configuration using a monitor connected.

From dim memory...  Load Server.app on the client box or use Server.app on some other handy server, and either configure DHCP with the server's MAC address (usually listed on the shipping box) and your intended static IP address and then boot the new target server box, or just boot the new target server box and use Bonjour Browser or the command-line dns-sd tool to find the IP address that the new server box has acquired from DHCP, and then in either case, connect to the new target server via Connect To Server in Server.app via its IP address, specify the root user and use the system serial number (again, usually listed on the shipping box) as the password.

Unable to install Windows Server 2012 Feature -  [Tools] File Server Resource Manager Tools.
Installs, however when I restart the server error messages appears saying feature unable to install, windows reverting changes.
In the Setup event logs have the following information message "Update FSRM-Infrastructure of package FSRM-All failed to be turned on. Status: 0x800f0922"
Does anyone have any idea's on why this Feature can not be installed ??

    Hi Shaun
Tried both of your suggestions, however neither strategy worked.
    Strategy 1
Tried installing via powershell - "install-windowsfeature -name fs-resource-manager -includemanagementtools"
Feature un-installed itself during the restart.
Attempted to use the command "DISM /online /remove-feature /featurename:FSRM-Infrastructure-Services".  However
this did work because one the Service was'nt installed or two because there was no command option for "/remove-feature"
    PACKAGE SERVICING COMMANDS:
/Add-Package            - Adds packages to the image.
/Remove-Package         - Removes packages from the image.
/Enable-Feature         - Enables a specific feature in the image.
/Disable-Feature        - Disables a specific feature in the image.

/Get-FeatureInfo        - Displays information about a specific feature.
/Cleanup-Image          - Performs cleanup and recovery operations on the image.
    Strategy 2
Tried installing via powershell, using the following command DISM
/online /enable-feature /featurename:FSRM-Infrastructure-Services, however got the same result, the install backed out during the restart.
All up back to where I started?

    I found a solution !!!
The problem is that the font SEGOE UI MAGER (one of the fonts) is not installed.
When you go on this link, you can download the missing font !
    http://fontzone.net/font-details/Segoe+UI/
download this, open it and go on install !
Then you open your Itunes and your Text is there again. Maybe its a little bit to big but, its there !!!
    Wish you a nice day !! :-D

  • Exchange Server 2010 with SP3 Management Tools

Recently I have installed brand new Exchange Server 2010 with SP1 in my test domain. Afterwards I upgraded it to Exchange Server 2010 with SP3. On client machine (Windows 7 Pro with SP1 x64) I run setup.exe for Exchange Server 2010 with SP1 installation
DVD to install Management Tools. All checks passed successfully but after installation was completed there was an error in EMC:
The World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) isn't running on any Exchange servers in the site.  If you want to connect to Remote Powershell, this service must be running.  Make sure that the W3SVC is running on at least one Exchange server.
Of course service is running. I read this has something to do with different versions of Exchange Server itself and Management Tools. Since there is no installation of Exchange Server 2010 with SP3 how to solve this? I assume if I have installation of Exchange
Server 2010 with slipstreamed Service Pack 3, management tools installed from this installation would work.
Also does this mean that, if I have working tools for Exchange Server and SP for it is installed later, tools will stop functioning?

I would install SP3 on all servers and workstation as SP1 and SP2 aren't supported anymore and see how it is behaving...

  • SQL Server Management Tools - Could not write value to key \SOFTWARE. Error code: 1406

    Detailed Results:
    Feature: Management Tools-Basic
    Status: Failed
Component Name: Sql Server Management Studio
    Component Error code: 1406
Error Description: Could not write value to key \SOFTWARE. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
The first time the installer worked installing perfectly, but I needed an named instance of "SQL2008", so I removed the instances. After this re-installing is not working.
From past 3-4 days I went through most of the links which has provided solutions for error code 1406, and not having success for installing.
    I have tried these options,
    1) Ran the installer using "Run as Administrator"option. I am an Administrator user for the machine.
    2) In Registry Editor, right-click HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software, and then click Permissions. Click Add, type Everyone, and then click OK. Under Group or user names, click Everyone. Under Permissions, click to select Full Control in the Allow column, and then
    click OK.
    3) Uninstalled the Sql server product, and used Revo Uninstaller / CCleaner to clean the registry and the remaining files and folders.
    4) Multiple versions of SQL installers have been tried (SQL 2008/2012/2014)
    5) Logged in as local/Administrator for the machine, tried the similar steps.
    6) The same installers are still working in one of the virtual machines for multiple times of installation and uninstallation without having any problems.
Please let me know, if needed further information. Please provide help for installing SQL server management studio.

    I have the same problem.
I can not install MSSQLManagementStudio. I suppose
that is not the fault of permissions
    . I have tried to

I also have tried to install as local administrator

    Please help!
    Samnang.

    Hi SSamnang,
According to your description, you come across the error that the specific account already exists. Please help to share the complete error log in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20150102_161500\SSCRuntime_Cpu32_1.log. You could
use google drive to upload the error log following the steps in the article:
    https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2424368?hl=en
From the exception help link, we notice that, the issue could be due to that an attempt fails to install SQL Server Native Client on a computer where SQL Server Native Client is already installed.
I recommend you to check if there is already an existing SQL Server Native Client on your computer. If there is an existing one, you could uninstall it and install SQL Server again.

  • I am an iBooks author. Connect shows book management tools. I need app management tools.

As an iBooks author I already have my iTunes Connect account set up to manage my book content. Now that I'm ready to publish an app for the iPhone, however, I cannot find any app management tools. I have a paid membership to Apple's Developer program, and my Apple ID is linked up to XCode. Help?
Message was edited by: J Michael K

Problem solved on the phone with Apple. One Apple ID cannot be associated with both iTunes Connect for iBooks and iTunes Conect for the App Store. They issued a refund on my newly purchased developer membership and had me create a second Apple ID under which to enroll in the App Store side of things. Not perfect, but a quick and easy solution.

Can I Install Exchange 2003 System Management Tool on Windows Server 2008?

    Hi,
Exchange 2003 System Management Tool is not supported on Windows Server 2008 as well. As a workaround, you can install it on Windows XP. Here is a helpful article for your reference.

  • Is there a way to have separate permissions between Server app and Profile manager?

I'm running OS X 10.10.1 (Yosemite) with Server app 4.0 installed.
I am a System Administrator for a University. I want to give our college techs the ability to manage Profile Manager, but if I grant them Admin rights on the Apple server they will also have access to the Server app, if they have the server app installed on their computer.
Is there a way to limit access to the Server app, but allow certain individuals admin right to Profile Manager?

    Hi,
I used to be able to manage my Time Capsule via the Server app, but now all I get is "Incorrect Password"
I know for a fact that the password is correct. How do I fix this?

Hello kidclaude. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
1)Set bridge mode the modem to avoid it could generate NAT conflicts via DHCP(if I'm not wrong bridge mode excludes the DHCP function in the internal server of the modem)
That is correct, reconfiguring the modem as a bridge should disable both NAT & DHCP.
2)Let time machine to manage the DHCP
By default, both NAT & DHCP are enabled on the Time Capsule (TC).

The "LocalAccount" is "On My Mac" and doesn't correspond to an account on a mail server. That all I can tell you from the information provided.

  • How to Fool Server.app to Keep from Installing Server Software?

Short of needlessly installing the OS X Server 10.8 software on a management-only client, is there a way to "fool" Server.app into thinking that the server software is installed, so that it proceeds directly to the "Choose a Mac" dialog? How, precisely, does Server.app determine whether the server software is already installed?

Strontium90, thanks for the suggestion. I finally got it to work.  I performed the copy FROM the workstation, instead of FROM the Server.  I made the Server Applications folder a shared folder temporarily so that I could access it FROM the workstation and copied the Server App from the Finder window at the workstation.  I think I may have an issue with the Admin account I am using.  I created this Admin account locally in the workstation and then created a network account in the Server with the same short name and password as the local Admin account thinking that the local machine would recognize that network account as the "same" local admin account.  I guess it doesn't work that way.

  • Need to install Hyper-V Management tools on Server 2012 VM

I need to install the Hyper-V Management tools onto a Server 2012 VM. However it won't let me install the management tools because it says hypervisor is already running. I've done this before from PowerShell but I can't remember the exact command that I
used and it's driving me crazy. Anyone know how to install just the management tools on a 2012 VM?
