Dear Gurus,
I have requirement in MSS portal in Employee tabs option ALL EMPLOYEES the client requires his manager to view all employees under him indirectly reporting to him the manager should view all employees ie both directly and indirectly reporting to manager.and also the manager is not holding chief position.
For Eg:- There are three positions postion A,postion B,Position C.Here Position A is manager,Position B is executive and Positin C is assistant.In this case position B is directly reporting to position C and Position C is directly Reporting to Position B.in this scenario under Postion A ie Manager should View Both his employees in MSS portal in Employees Tab option All Employees here the manager should view both the position B and Position C.

Thank you, however we do not want our managers to have access to such things as infotypes, ND etc, we want the applications to be available on the worklist. We do have a custom program which extracts applications from inside erecruitment however we want managers to be able to just click on the application from within the worklist,

I've never worked with Access as a database, before. But, if this were SQL (and it might work), then, yes, a LEFT OUTER JOIN would do the trick.
SELECT ta.Lastname, ta.Firstname, ta.EmpID, ta.MgrEmpID, ta.Email, ta.Location
FROM TableA ta LEFT OUTER JOIN TableA tb ON tb.MgrEmpID = ta.EmpID

View Crystal Report Layout for my UDO Form

Hi all,
I try to view a report created for my UDO form. I set all settings in Administration -> Setup -> General -> Report and Layout Manager. Now I wonder what should be assigned to eventInfo.LayoutKey. I tried assigned report's DocCode from RDOC, DocEntry of my UDO object or UDO Code but nothing works. Always get an error: Incorrect format of argument or something like that - I didn't get an error in English so I tried to translate it.
How to show a report layout for my UDO form?

How to allow normal/regular users to view a report

I have been compiling reports in MS SQL 2012 Reporting Services. the URLs is
http://test_report:80/reports. I have no problem with viewing the reports because I am an admin but normal users are getting access denied. this is how I assign permission to user. Open Reporting Services
Config Mnger --> Connect --> Click on Report Mnger URL --> click on
http://test_report:80/reports --> Open a another folder called Reports. In this "Reports" it has many reports. --> Click on Folder Settings --> Click on Security --> Click on "New Role Assignment" -->
In "Group or user name" text box, I entered user network computer login name, such as: domain_name\bambi --> Ensure "Browser" is checked --> Ok. I send this weblink to users but they cannot open it because of either access denied
or not have permission.

Is this how I enable user bambi to 1) enable to open Reports folder and also browse for reports in Reports folder 2) enable user bambi to execute all reports in Reports folder.
Problem: user bambi was able to open Reports folder and see all reports saved in it; however, bambi gets a blank page upon selecting a report and open/run it. bambi should see company logo and report name. It was a blank white page.
What did I do incorrectly?

Is there a method for changing the format of the AXIS labels to show more significant digits? Second, I can't find how to display the menu shown in NI help document 3FIEI5LE. When I right click to (select properties) I get a different menu labeled (set proerties for display).

Hi Doug,
There is no way to configure the display of the X axis in VIEW-- this is for a quick look at or an interactive visual inspection of your data. For a fully configurable report creation environment you should switch to REPORT. Note that the last button on the top icon bar in VIEW with the tipstrip "Transfer to REPORT" will transfer what you currently have displayed in VIEW into a new REPORT layout.
In REPORT if you double-click on the numbers below the X axis, a "2D - Numeric display" configuration dialog will appear which has the field "Format:" in it. Type in "d.dddd" ("d,dddd" in Europe) or as many d's after the decimal character as you want to display. There are also other formatting options for scientific display, etc.
I honestly didn't understand your second question about the help dialog-- what version of DIAdem are you using?

View BIP report with parameter in Dashboard, but the parameter not appear

OBIEE 10.3.4.1 on Redhat 5.2.
I have a BIP report with 3 parameters which work fine in BIP. Now I embedded it in BI Dashboard, but not see the parameter menu when view in Dashboard. Is this the feature, or I missed something.

On the BI publisher Report Properties window, for Display Mode, select 'Link'. Then you should see the Report Object appear as a link, save and on the dashboard page when you click that link, the BI publisher report will show with the parameters..

Can't view a report connecting through ODBC(RDO) to DB with InfoView (CMC)

Environment :
Crystal Reports machine :
OS :
Windows Server 2008 64-bit
Crystal Reports Developer 2008 SP0
Crystal Reports Server 2008
DB Server:
Windows Server 2003 32-bit
SQL Server 2000 SP3
What is going on:
All the reports connecting through ODBC (RDO) to the database server work fine in the developer interface (I can preview them) but cannot be accessed if I try to view them in InfoView / CMC ("Please wait while the document is being processed" message box doesn't go away...).
I have tried both the SQL Server driver 6.00.6001.1800 and SQL Server Native Client 10.0 2007.100.1600.22 with the same results.
PS All the reports using OLE DB work just fine, I would prefer to have the ODBC option working through the web interface because I have a few hundreds report to change otherwise ...

Our solution is a php web application, but this is not relevant (in my opinion), and here it is why:
The php code should show the reports by using the direct links given by InfoView
(like http://dev-web:8080/CrystalReports/viewrpt.cwr?id=801&apsuser=user&apspassword=password).
Actually in this moment these links are looking different because currently we're using C.R. 10 + C.R. Server 10, but we are planning to move to CR 2008 + CR Server 2008.
So now I am testing how these direct links do work, they're actually working perfectly till now, but only if I connect through OLEDB to the DB server (SQL Server 2000). Any attempt to do it through the 2 ODBC drivers failed until now.
And I don't want to think about changing the data source hundreds of reports (lot of them having subreports too) ...

Viewing Crystal Report Server reports in web application

I would like to create a .net web application (Visual Studio 2005) to connect to a Crystal Reports Server (XI R2), retrieve a list of reports and then view the reports in crystalreportviewer embedded in the app. Since the BusinessObjects XI .Net Providers does not include crystalreportviewer, it looks like I will need to use Crystal Reports .NET for VisualStudio runtime.
1) Even though the third party would have a licensed Crystal Reports Server would they need an additional license for the use of crystalreportviewer provided in the Crystal Reports .Net runtime?
2) Is there another option for using crystalreportviewer without installing the entire crystal reports .net runtime? The reports will not be modified in any way, they will just be viewed in a web app. I have previously used OpenDocument to view the reports, but that is not an option in this case.

Hey koko1313,
I understand that you are looking for the crystalreportviewer control.
You can get the viewer by installing the sdk from the CRS XIR2 installation disc.
Insert disc,
do a custom install,
Unselect all components and select 'businessobjects enterprise .net sdk' from under Client components and finish the installation.
The above steps should update the viewer on you dev box.
Note that sdk should be installed the similiar way on any machine where you deploy the app. No need for sdk if you are deploying to a box with CRServer XIR2 installed.
I do not know anything regarding the licensing question for third party, but cr.net sdk custom app a separate license need to be purchased by third party.Sorry!

Event Viewer Error Reports

How do I send all my event viewer error reports from 3/1/15 to the manufacturer of my computer? IN the event viewer window there seems to be a lock on opening submenu to perform a copy and paste or a SEND option available. I have a WINDOWS 8.1

Above SQL provides me the list of employees (only direct reports) who report to EMPLID 76634. Now I want to modify this SQL so that It will also provide me the list of employees from a lower level (indirect reports).
For example, if employees 1, 2 report to 76634. And 3,4 report to 1. And 5,6 report to 2. I want to modify the above SQL such that it will retrieve both direct and indirect reports for 76634 i.e 1,2,3,4,5 and 6.
As of now above SQL will retrieve only 1,2. Any thoughts?

Hi,
1. Their must be a relationship between these 2 reports by any one of the columns from the tables.
2. After completing the second report, right click on the answer side of pivot table view, you will get the options like exclude column, include column, etc..
3. Use selection steps to create calculated items or group of calculated members to have a value of "Other".
4. One you added the calculated item it will get display.
use selection steps or right click on the columns in pivot table view or table view you will get more options and ideas.

and this its not working when opens the report asks for credentials
and i cannot use the remote ip for these reports that come from other machine

if i cannot connect to remote ip to open the report
for each report i have to create a database the report database on my machine and then open the report ?
or there is some other way to open the report ?

Not able to view any report in BI Publisher 11g

I have installed BI Publisher 11g in Intel Solaris 10. I started of from the scratch, created a Data Model, then created a Report. but now I am not able to view the report. Upon clicking the report name or Open it logs me out.
I am logged in as user, weblogic the default user created while installation.

Hi Rony,
You may have created the report initially with Web Layout only - therefore there will no paper layout.
To 'get' the paper layout back, select your Report module name from the Builder and then select Tools-->Report Wizard. Select 'Create both web and Paper Layout' and then go through the various wizard steps.
