Managing assets in Creative Cloud - deleting archived files

I have used up nearly all of my 20GB of Creative Cloud storage. However, when looking in Finder, I notice that I really only have about 6GB in the folder. Turns out, CC archives files, which is great in the event that I lose a file on a hard drive or a file get corrupted. I'd be able to restore from the archive. However, all those archive files take up a lot of space. I found out how to delete the archive files using the web based Manage Assets. However, it won't let me SHIFT select. I have to actually click each one, one at a time. I have over 3500 archive files. That will take me 20-30 minutes to do this.
Is there a better way to delete the archive files, other than DELETE ALL ARCHIVES?

  • Creative Cloud deletes my files!!!

I have single app subscription and I backup my project files in the cloud. But suddenly Creative Cloud deletes my files!!!!!! This is unbelievable. Hours of projects that I have worked on are not in my folders any more. I just get mountain lion notification that this and that file was deleted. How come is this possible when I PAY monthly money for this software.
Help me out to recover my files. ASAP.
    Thanks.

For those who only use the file syncing with the Creative Cloud Files folder, at times you will want to sign in from the browser and check your Archive at https://creative.adobe.com/archive. The Archive is like the Recycle Bin on Windows or the Trash on Mac OS X. Files or folders that are deleted or moved out of the Creative Cloud Files folder go into the Archive. From the Archive you can either restore or permanently delete items.

  • Creative Cloud deleted my files.

Few weeks ago I have updated Creative Cloud and there were many duplicated files named with conflicted copy.
And few days ago I noticed that the some local files were deleted. ( I did NOT delete them by myself.)
I see the file on https://creative.adobe.com/files but I can not download it.
Is there a way to get my files back?
and I like to know why this happened.
    Thanks.

    The missing files in question are not listed in the archive so I contacted chat support and their responses are;
Once you updated to CC, your old files will be disappeared , you will not be able to retrieve the files again.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
You will not be able to get your files back.
when the new version of CC is released, the Sync  option is removed.
We are trying to launching the update version of Sync very soon.
Due to the removal sync, you are unable to get your files.
You can post a query over there."http://forums.adobe.com/community/creative_cloud/file_and_font_sync_early_access"
It is a beta version product.
I don't understand the cause of problem. It's because "beta version product"?
    I have received the e-mail titled "File sync is back on Creative Cloud! Start using it today" from Adobe on August 8th with following contents;
When the File Sync feature was first available for preview on Creative Cloud Connection, you were one of our early previewers. We can’t overstate how much we appreciate that—as well as your patience as we took the feature offline these past several weeks to improve and rebuild it as part of the Creative Cloud desktop app.
We’ve just announced on our blog that file and font sync are now available in the Creative Cloud desktop app. Naturally, we think you should be one of the first customers to have access. If you have a Typekit account, this will also enable font syncing to your desktop.
Since we’re rolling out access in limited batches, we’re prompting people to join a waiting list—but we’ve gone ahead and approved you, so you can get started using these features anytime.
Ready to begin? If you don’t already have the Creative Cloud desktop app, grab it from the Download Center—it’s free with your membership. Next time you launch the app, go to the Files and Fonts panel to start syncing.

  • Updated Creative cloud deleted my files

Today, April 9 I updated my creative cloud app. After doing so, my Adobe Creative Cloud folder was EMPTY! Subsequently, the app starting to sync with the cloud and download the folder. The problem is that the files on my computer were more recent than what was in the cloud. I had been working off-line. Plus, I often have issues with the cloud not syncing automatically which creates a mess when working from my desktop and laptop at different locations.
I strongly urge you NOT to update the Creative Cloud app.
I contacted Adobe and they didn't have any suggestions for me and simply said that it's a known issue and they are working on it. I suggested that they disable the update as more customers will be very upset if they lose files. I got no response other than, "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

When I opened my computer just a little while ago I found that my Cloud had been updated (must've happened overnight ---I didn't initiate it.) Anyway, MANY of my files that I've been working on for the past couple of weeks have been DELETED!!!!!!!! WTF???? THis has cost me numerous hours of work, not to mention that I'm on deadline. I'm going to call Adobe after 9am and they better be able to restore ALL of my FILES that are missing. This will cost me thousands of dollars if the files are not recovered because I'll have to stop everything else and recreate. Luckily, by accident, I saved the latest Muse web file to my desktop, otherwise that too was lost on the CC. I haven't thoroughly checked it yet to see if this version accidently saved on my desktop is completely up-to-date, but if it isn't and my files cannot be recovered I may seek legal action.
I don't advise using Creative Cloud for any important files. It's not a secure storage facility (in my opinion judging from my latest experience).

  • Creative Cloud Deleting My Files

    Hi,
About a month ago i posted a question about how to get my deleted files back that i did not delete.
Adobe sent me a link, the link would download a zip to a point then stop and give error message.
So i still haven't got those files back...
    Now...
About every day, the cloud will delete at least two of my files.
    1. How do i get it to stop?
    2. How do i get my files back?
This is getting really annoying, almost making the cloud unusable

    Hey Ken,
It happened again.  One of my new psd files i just created "was removed".  Can i get it back please.  I looked in the archive and the "recovered" folder you guys added to my cloud and it isn't in either place.
More importantly, is there any way to stop it?

  • Will subscribing to and activating Creative Cloud delete my Adobe CS6 Suite?

Will subscribing to and activating Creative Cloud delete my Adobe CS6 Suite?

    no.
there are no compatibility problems with cc, cc 2014 apps and your older versions.  only acrobat has some compatibility issues with older versions.
in any case, make sure your cs6 serial number is secure so you can always reinstall on another computer or fix a corrupted installation.

  • How to delete Archived files from FTP

    HI,
I am looking to delete Archived files from FTP Server, Can anybody have idea about this.
    Thanks,
    Ram

To be frank, deletion of archived files is really a manual activity and is never in reality done by an interface
    so you have two options;
    1. log into the archived folder and manually delete archived files
    2. run a script in your file adapter - this way everytime the interface is triggered the files will be deleted - but then y do this.. instead just dont archive any files at all

  • Where does Creative Cloud store my files?

Does Creative Cloud store my files on my hard drive or can they be stored on my server?

You store your files wherever you like as you normally would.
Cloud apps install and run locally (same as perpetually licensed apps).
You save your files locally on oyur hard drive or server or wherever you like.
Your Cloud membership also includes 20GB of offsite storage in the Adobe Cloud which you are free to use or not use.

  • Problem with Manage link on Creative Cloud Files page

When I click the Manage link from https://creative.adobe.com/files it just opens up another Files page. The View link works fine. Is this a known problem at the moment? It was working fine until a couple of days ago. I can still access these pages from links elsewhere, but it was useful at times to just use the links from the Files page.
I've tried from all three of my Macs and my iPad and it's the same every time.
Safari 5.1.7, Mac OS X 10.7.4, Creative Cloud subscription

It seems to be a compatability issue with the Safari browser platform. I'm encountering the same issue using Safari (same version - 5.1.7), but the link works fine using Google Chrome. I'm going to go ahead and submit a bug report regarding the issue, so hopefully this will get cleared up soon.
For now, if you have Chrome (I haven't tested this on Firefox), the Manage link should work fine.
    Thanks for posting!

  • Application Manager updated to Creative Cloud?

Why did Adobe Application Manager update to a launch button for Creative Cloud? I don't have Creative Cloud. I typically run updates as I see the alerts come in, and just ran this update to find app. manager was replaced with a launch button to CC. I have no idea why this is on my desktop now. Should I be deleting this application? I have CS6 installed and thought I would need application manager for any updates to my software. If anyone can advise me, that would be great. This whole thing seems very weird to me.
    Thanks,
    Kim

It seems that sometime in the past few weeks (months?) Adobe has updated the Application Manager so that when you launch it directly, or via a shortcut, it automatically tries to launch Creative Cloud instead of launching itself.
In Windows, the Application Manager application itself is located here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDapp.exe
Double-clicking this file used to run itself, the Application Manager.  Now, double clicking this file makes it try to run the Creative Cloud app instead.  If you don't have Creative Cloud installed, you get an error that Creative Cloud is missing and needs to be installed.
The same is true for clicking on the shortcut, Start Menu>All Programs>Adobe Application Manager.  This is a shortcut to the above file.  It used to run the Application Manager.  Now it tries to run Creative Cloud.
The only way I have found to run the Application Manager itself now, is to open one of the Adobe applications, such as Photoshop, and then go to the Help menu and choose "Updates..."    This will run the actual Adobe Application Manager.
If you open the Windows Task Manager while the Adobe Application Manager is running, select the Adobe Application Manager under the Applications tab, right click and select Go To Process, then right click on the process and choose Open FIle Location, you can see that the file that is running is still:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDapp.exe
    This means that:
    1.  when you run the file directly, it tries to run Creative Cloud
    2.  when an Adobe application such as Photoshop runs the file, it runs itself (the Application Manager)
There must be a command switch (or flag) being set by the Adobe applications when they run this file, telling it to run itself rather than launch Creative Cloud.   I wish I knew what that switch was. If I did, I'd make a custom shortcut with the switch in it and replace my existing shortcut for Adobe Application Manager with the custom one.
In the mean time, I have avoided installing Creative Cloud (since I don't need it) and I am avoiding using the shortcuts (since they make it try to run Cloud).  When I want to check for updates, I launch Photoshop and launch the Application Manager from in there instead, for now.
I hope either Adobe fixes this or someone posts the command switch info so I can make a shortcut.

  • Creative cloud deleting an image

Just wondering I just ordered the creative cloud and I wanna know how to delete images that are uploaded by accident

Hi, I have had the same issue and this is how to resolve it:
It is a 2 step process - first select the files that you wish to delete and archive them. Once you have done that, go to the archive folder and select the files fromthe archives that you wish to delete and press "Permanently Delete". You will be asked to confirm each action at each step.
    Cheers, Alain.

  • Creative Cloud deleted our 112 page magazine!

Design team working with the cloud for the first time need help. All 112 page magazine indesign/photoshop files and 90% of the magazine content and images (separate folder) deleted from the cloud and the local MAC folders. The remaining 10% word/pages docs have been converted to .jpg.
It seemed to happen when a new license was accepted by a freelance designer. We had a support guy from Adobe remote desktop into the MAC yesterday but he could't work out what was wrong. He's passed it onto an expert who will be in contact with-in 72 hours? It's a good job we had only spent one full day designing and not a day before going to print. It's possible one MAC was uploading to the contents folder/syncing with the cloud whilst the freelance designer MAC was syncing/downloading around 1GB of files. Perhaps it was overloaded? But where are the files, and why delete anything without asking?
1.6Gb out of 100GB allowance used! The Archive only has the content and images folder with around 90% deleted. This is around 528MB. Where have our files gone?
Thankfully we did make a back-up yesterday.

Mac migration (or Time Machine) do not work with Cloud program activations due to hidden files

  • Start and manage applications from creative cloud

Hi, why not be able to start Adobe CC applications from the Creative Cloud itself? Why not manage them from it, to uninstall, additionally to update or install? I've needed this during the switch to CC 2014. Why not re-install option too? In the process of switching to CC 2014, I've installed PS CC 2014 and AI CC 2014, then uninstalled the old CC ones and I've got to uninstall CC 2014 apps and install them again just to get rid of some registry issues done in the process, like file associations lost and AI message that needs to run as administrator in order to fix some registry issues, which it couldn't fix actually (under Windows).
    Regards, Mike.

Before you remove anything you should sign out of the Creative Cloud so that it is reset for you when you reinstall and sign in again.

  • Archivelog Mode Deleting archive files

    Hey,
I have been reading about archivelog mode for a while and understand the concept and how it works. The one thing that is still alluding me is the removal/deleting of old archivelog files and how long I need to keep the files.
I hear people saying "backup your archive files", how long do I need to keep the backed up archive files?
What this sounds like to me is "you better keep every archive file ever created by your database in order to restore". This sounds silly to me but thats how I am interpreting this. Can someone please help me understand this a bit better?
    Thank

Archive logs are normally backed up when a database backup is done. Some shops might backup archive logs more or less frequently. You need to keep the backuped archive logs for as long a necessary to meet the recovery policies set forth by the business.
For example, for some database that I manage the business decision is to retain backups for an entire year. Other database have a smaller time frame of 2 to 6 months and some are only a week. So you can see that I do not keep every archive log ever created, I just keep the ones necessary to fulfil the recovery policies set by the business.

  • Cannot download assets from creative cloud market....?

Hi, I like Adobe Creative Cloud very much, just started using it beginning of this month!
I do have a question. In my Student and Teachers license of Adobe CC, I do not have access to downloading from the Creative Cloud Market. That options keeps telling me that only a full license premium gives access, so I need to upgrade.
I’ve been on the forums, had chats with customer service and talked also on the telephone about this. I was told that a student license doesn’t have those options because I pay a reduced price. I visited a lot of webpages with info about Adobe CC and read a lot :-). I cannot find anywhere that students and teachers cannot access those options. Only with the Photographer’s Bundle and the Free Adobe CC there are restrictions as I understand. The Student and Teachers version is promoted (as in article in link below) as having the same tools and services as the full premium license.
But Adobe CC Market downloads remain not accessible to me unless I upgrade to another ‘plan’ – and I remain in the dark about the rule here. Is it incorporated as said in the article below or is it not? Can you please help me with my question?
    Kind regards, Kim Terbrack.
