Managing decimal places in MD04

Hi,
We have our system set in transaction CUNI that the decimal places are 0 for UOM LBS.
However we want to see decimals some times in MD04. Is this possible through some user parameters or so with out changing the system customizing in CUNI?
Thanks.

I don't think so. I also fail to understand why you would change the standard settings, and limit the decimal places of a physical UOM like LBS.

  • Decimal places in MD04

    Hi
In MD04 , we are getting decimals for  the quantity.  Is there any settings or config change involved to remove display of
    decimals.
    Regards
    Mani

    Dear,
If the database contains an amount with decimal places for an MRP element, the system also displays this value this way in MD04, because this is the value relevant for MRP purposes. This does not depend on the settings for the unit of measure in transaction CUNI (table T006).In case of values without decimal places, the system displays the value according to the setting in the unit of measure (T006-DECAN).Therefore, the decimal places of the MRP elements can vary. Check CUNI setting for rounding the values.

  • Decimal places in currencies from flat files

    Hi experts,
I am facing a problem in the way BI is managing decimal places when I extract them from tex files. I have read a lot of post and make a lot of changes and the problem persits. Here is my problem. I am uploading data from text files. These files come from 6 different source systems. All developments are already in production so changing the way they send the data it would be the most expensive solution at this point.
For all currencies ratios I receive in the file  could contain these 3 kind of values:
    5.45
    3.2
    4
Decimal indicator is "." but it is not always present and sometimes is follow 1 decimal pla or 2, which is ogial to expect depending of the nature of the value. I haven't been able to make it work for all the cases.
I have set "." in RSCUSTV1 as decimal separator. I tried number format "direct entry" in the extraction Tab of data source. I have tried all possible combinations in the tab fields with data type CURR, DEC, even CHAR and Internal or External format, and any configuration I have made works only for some cases and not for the others. I don't know what else I can look at. Your help will be highly appreciated and rewarded with points.
    Regards,
    Raimundo Alvarez

HI guys and Thanks for your help.
I could solve my problem. There were some issues already fixed (a combination of the external property in the tab fields, the configuration for decimal separator and a problem with the currency). The main one was giving me the headache that I am trying to import a currency but I was not receiving the currency from the source because is always the same (Colombian Pesos). This one has an special configuration in table TCURX that was making the decimal places be wrong. I solved requesting the currency from the source even if it was a constant value.
    Thanks for your help,
    Rai.

  • Decimal Places in RRP3 and MD04

When we release the fcst to R3 and SNP , we release in daily buckets.  The No's in Product view and MD04 showing in decimal places. Business wanted rounded No. instead of a number with decimal. I want to fix it by changing the Unit of measure EA  to zero decimal place, in Tcode: CUNI.  Is there any better way to fix the problem, instead of changing a global setting.
    thx
    Jeff

    Hi,
You can alternatively use another keyfigure and have a macro that round using a particular logic and enter the numbers in this KF. THen release this KF to SNP and R/3.
    Eg:
    KF1: 10.1...........9.9.........10
your new KF after macro run with rounding logic is something like this
    KF2: 10.............19.............10

  • Cannot Update Decimal Places in General Settings

When I try to update the decimal points in the Administration > System Initialization > General Settings > Display path, SAP B1 gives me the following error:
"Cannot update while another user is connected to the company."
I am the only one on the system as "manager" with "Super User" and "Full Authorization"...
The SAP B1 Guide titled "How to Make Initial Setting in Business One - US" says "you can change these settings at any time".
QUESTION:  What might be stopping this change, and more importantly, how do I get around this error to be able to change the decimal points?
    Thanks all - Zal

    Hi Zal,
I agree with you about the strange messaging used by SAP.
But blocking the possibility to decrease the decimal places is extremely important.
Suppose you have inserted a sales document with two items in this way:
Item 1 ___Qty 1,234  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,51
Item 2 ___Qty  5,756 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,13
    ____Document total 19,64
Then, someone wants to change the number of decimal places of the quantity from 3 to 2.
    What happens would be:
Item 1 ___Qty 1,23  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,51
Item 2 ___Qty  5,75 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,13
    ____Document total 19,64
If you try to do the calculations manually you will see that the results are not correct. In fact all the document would have to change in:
Item 1 ___Qty 1,23  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,50
Item 2 ___Qty  5,75 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,11
    ____Document total 19,61
Also if the document total will show correct (in the case of rounding the second decimal position of item 2), the totals of any line is wrong. In fact there is no recalculation at all in SAP (and must not be done).
Imagine such a modification over thousand of documents and all of the descendants (mainly if the have lead to printouts - as say confirmations - sent to customers or vendors).
None of the economic figures will match.

  • Decimal places in SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0

    Hi experts,
Iu2019m using SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 and Iu2019ve an issue related to the decimal places configuration.
Our products are defined with 2 decimal places and after importing the records I can see them in Data Manager with the correct price information. However, when I access my catalog in EP, I can see all my records but without any decimal places. For instance, if I define a price 1.25 Eur for one product, in EP I have 1 Eur.
Can someone help me? Itu2019s really important that we can show the product correct price.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Andreia Nascimento

    Hi,
My problem was in MDM Data Manager - currencies table. If you choose currencies table, select your currency and check if there are any decimal places defined.
You can also check in MDM Console price table u2013 amount u2013 decimal places.

  • How to allows decimal place for unit of measure of order confirmation

    Hi Guys
we have some special cases here that need to confirm the order quantity as decimal place,is that possible made some customizing in code CO11N? or have some ways support it .....
ex. work order A   10 EA
    - operation 1   : colse 10 EA
    - operation 2   : close 4.5 EA
    Regards/Eric

    Hi,
You can set a UoM to allow decimals in transaction CUNI. But i fail to understand why you would want to set EA to have decimals.
If a material is to be managed in decimals then evaluate the usage of a different UoM which allows for decimals.
    Regards,

  • Decimal places not allowed

    Hello,
We have created one materail , their Base unit of measure is "BOX" Checked the CUNI transaction, in that Decimal places  field is "0' and Decimal place rounding filed "0"
With reff to this material while creation of Purchase order system will allow me to enter Decimal places..Means i can enter 102.132 BOX in qty filed in Purchase order.
But with ref to same material while creation of process order, system will not allow me to enter decimal places. why?  system should not allow decimal places for BOX unit of measure in Process order.
    sapman man

you cannot restrict this behaviour with CUNI customizing, you can only check and stop this in a user exit.
SAP inventory managment allows and stores 3 decimals for any unit of measure. You can only define how it will show the value to the users and how it will round the decimals if it calculates the conversion. But if you enter manually with decimals, then SAP will not round this.

  • Decimal places are not permitted for asset useful life

    Dear SAP experts,
I need to post a new net book value on a new depreciation area 50 for fixed assets. The new deprecation for depreciation area 50 will start in July 2011 on all existing (also fully depreciated or to be disposed) assets with a different useful life unlike the book deprecation for depreciation area 01. The depreciation method for depreciation area 50 is straight line.
I have a requirement to assign the new useful life for the depreciation area 50 which may contain decimals, for example 5.5 years. Basically, I need to depreciate the asset for the remaining 6 months of 2011 and the entire 2012 to 2016.
SAP does not allow decimals on asset useful life (Decimal places are not permitted, Message no. 00011).
Have you come accross a similar situation? How can that be managed via depreciation methods and keys?
    Please advise.
    Thank you in advance,
    Inna

    Hi Inna,
You can define your useful life of 5.5 years for the depreciation area 50 as follows:
    Useful life : 5
    period : 6
here, useful life(5) represents 5 years and period(6) as 6 months which gives you 5.5 years starting depreciation from Depreciation calculation start date.
    Kind Regards,
    Mehul

  • Decimal Places are missing in the MDM catalog.

We are implementing MDM 3.0 for catalogs along with SRM 7.0.
The prices in MDM data manager show all the decimal points , example $34.27.
But when we punchout to the catalog, i see the decimal places missing, example $34.
Do we need to do some settings in UI ?
Can you please help me resolve this issue.

    Hi Raj,
We have exactly the same problem. Can you please share how you resolve this problem?

  • Union clause cut off decimal places?

    Dear all,
I am trying to create a query with "union" clause (to join 3 parts of records).
If I run them separately, I got the figures in Qty field (of Bill of Material) with 3 decimal places.
However, I only got 2 decimal places, when I combined the 3 sub-queries.
    Any idea please?
    Many thanks

    Dear all,
I just tried to create a view in the database for the "union" query, and I can see it is a 6 decimal numeric field from the SQL sever management studio, as all data are displayed fine.
Unfortunately, I queried this view in SAP query manager, and it is still showing only 2 decimals ...
I am very keen to know if there is a solution.
However, for now, I have let the view join the ITT1 table again in SAP to use the qantities figures.
It seems that SAP only shows 2 digit for numeric fields, unless it is getting data from a generic data table?
    Cheers

    dear all

Calculate single values as normalization of result, and then it display 33.333%, i like to display only two number of decimal places, so i set the number of decimal places as 0.00, but i doesn't work, it still display three decimal numbers.
maybe you say i can use the percentage function like %CT %GT %RT, but i need to allow external access to my query, so the i can not use those functions.
can somebody helps me ? your advice is appreciated.

hi,thanks for your advice, but that doesn't suit for my problem.
before i set the normalization of result, i can change the decimal values. After that i cann't.
In your thread, someone proposes use the T-code OY04. but this wouldn't help. As i change to other key figure, such as user quantity, when i set normalization of result, it still display 3 decimal values.
i think the point maybe lie in the normalization of result. please advise... thanks...
