Managing InterConnect adapters

We are investigating how the operators will be able to manage InterConnect adapters. Except from parsing the error logs (oailog.txt), there don't seems to be out-of- the-box solutions to verify that adapters are up and running also in case no messages are received. We can of course publish and subscribed dedicated messages that flow over every n minutes but I wonder if this is the best method. Some other Integration products automatically publish a management event that is subscribed by a dedicated adapter providing a kind of heart beat.
How do other people manage their environments?
thank you,
regards,
Claude Boussemaere

Claude,
I suppose the good thing about iAS 10g as a product is that it does guarantee delivery! If any bit of the "middleware", or indeed your source / target systems are misbehaving, then the messages are either held in Oracle AQ's, or persistence files.
For my two cents, I think that using the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console is a good out-of-the-box tool to start with. It is certainly the tool I use on my environment. Although it isn't a complete "one-stop-shop", it does give you a single place where you can, for adapters, look at:-
* The state (running or not)
* Look at errors
* Look at, and edit, the adapter.ini file
* Look at the latest log file
* Get "alive time"
* Get "throughput" statistics and
* If you use the "Tracking Messages" feature of iAS Integration, then it is here where you can look at your Tracking Fields.
You can also check that the repository is alive and kicking too.
I think I'm right in saying that OEM comes with 9iAS or 10g database. Once the iAS Integration components are installed, there are some post install steps that you need to follow for InterConnect components to show up in the OEM Console.
I'm no OEM expert, but I believe that you can also write "Alerts" too.
One word of advice though, and I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong, is that OEM console is only useful if you have your repository and adapters physically installed on your Hub server. That is to say, if you have installed a DB Adapter on your target (Spoke) database, instead of on your middleware (Hub) database, then OEM will not be able to see it.
This is why I've installed all my integration components on one server.
Hope this helps
Yan

  • Cannot migrate VM in VMM but can in Failover Cluster Manager network adapters network optimization warning

I have a 4 node Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Cluster and manage it with VMM 2012 R2.  I just upgraded the cluster from 2012 RTM to 2012 R2 last week which meant pulling 2 nodes out of the existing cluster, creating the new R2 cluster, running the copy
cluster roles wizard since the VHDs are stored on CSVs, and then added the other 2 nodes after installing R2 on them, back into the cluster.  After upgrading the cluster I am unable to migrate some VMs from one node to another.  When trying to do
a live migration, I get the following notifications under the Rating Explanation tab:
Warning: There currently are not network adapters with network optimization available on host Node7.
Error: Configuration issues related to the virtual machine VM1 prevent deployment and must be resolved before deployment can continue.
I get this error for 3 out of the 4 nodes in the cluster.  I do not get this error for Node10 and I can live migrate to that node in VMM.  It has a green check for Network optimization.  The others do not.  These errors only affect
VMM. In the Failover Cluster Manager, I can live migrate any VM to any node in the cluster without any issues.  In the old 2012 RTM cluster I used to get the warning but I could still migrate the VMs anywhere I wanted to.  I've checked the network
adapter settings in VMM on VM1 and they are the same as VM2 which can migrate to any host in VMM.  I then checked the network adapter settings of the VMs from the Failover Cluster Manager and VM1 under Hardware Acceleration has "Enable virtual machine
queue" and Enable IPsec task offloading" checked.  I unchecked those 2 boxes refreshed the VMs, refreshed the cluster, rebooted the VM and refreshed again but I still could not live migrate VM1.  Why is this an issue now but it wasn't before
running on the new cluster?  How do I resolve the issue?  VMM is useless if I can't migrate all my VMs with it.

I checked the settings on the physical nics on each node and here is what I found:
Node7: Virtual machine queue is not listed (Cannot live migrate problem VM's to this node in VMM)
Node8: Virtual machine queue is not listed (Cannot live migrate problem VM's to this node in VMM)
Node9: Virtual machine queue is listed and enabled (Cannot live migrate problem VM's to this node in VMM)Node10: Virtual machine queue is listed and enabled (Live Migration works on all VMs in VMM)
From Hyper-V or the Failover Cluster manager I can see in the network adapter settings of the VMs under Hardware Acceleration that these two settings are checked "Enable virtual machine queue" and Enable IPsec task offloading".  I unchecked those
2 boxes, refreshed the VMs, refreshed the cluster, rebooted the VM and refreshed again but I still cannot live migrate the problem VMs.
It seems to me that if I could adjust those VM settings from VMM that it might fix the problem.  Why isn't that an option to do so in VMM?
Do I have to rebuild the VMM server with a new DB and then before adding the Hyper-V cluster uncheck those two settings on the VM's from Hyper-V manager?  That would be a lot of unnecessary work but I don't know what else to do at this point.

  • 10g RAC HBA and Interconnect Adapters

    Hi,
I am setting up an Oracle 10g RAC environment on two Sun 220R servers. The shared storage system will be a an EMC Clarion SAN (CX600/CX700 model drives). I have two questions below.
'Supported Interconnects' and 'Public Networks' certified configuration adapters include '... and SunSwift(tm) adapters'. Does this mean any/all SunSwift adapter? Specifically I am looking at the 'Quad GigaSwift ethernet UTP adapter'.
I have not seen any configuration include certified HBA adapters. Does this imply so long as Sun is happy with it, Oracle 10g RAC will be happy with it as well?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Jack.

Sorry for the late reply, but the interface to pick is the clprivnet0. This load-balances over the available private interconnects under the covers and so does not represent a single point of failure.

  • Thinkpad T510 Windows 7 No wireless adapter found & device manager network adapters exclamations

    Lenovo owners,
I was wondering if you could help.
I’m having issues with my laptop(Lenovo thinkpad T510) all of a sudden and cannot pinpoint a solution and it seems my laptop is getting progressively slower.
One day upon startup I could not obtain a network connection either wirelessly or even while connected. (I’ve never had a problem & even earlier that day , and even turned it on later that evening and had no problem, and now these issues are back.)  I searched for connections and received a ‘no wireless adapter found’. I checked my device manager and noticed the yellow exclamation point next to all under network connections. When clicking on the driver the message ‘This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.’
I tried updating the driver under driver tab, but to no avail, or I have the most current.
I’ve searched Lenovo forums stating to uninstall drivers and install but many people still have the same issue.
Does this sound like manufacturer issue or virus type relation?
Now my laptop seems to running slower and slower upon startup and shutdown.
Anyway anybody can help would be appreciated. I’m starting to get backlogged on work.
& Yes, the switch on the side of my laptop is turned on

Free AVG and Malwarebytes yep. Ive performed scans on both and no threats detected.Diagnostics results shown below. States exactly what Device Manager did and once i try to reinstall driver I get the Device status code 31 window(shown on the right). I've tried reinstalling drivers and restarting but no change in status. The only thing that happened since i that happened when i shut down my working laptop and when i turned it on and ran into these issues were Windows Updates upon shutdown. Any chance a wacky update could wreck havoc on all my drivers?

  • Tips about managing interconnect through 3-nodes RAC

    Hello all,
I've to install a 3 nodes RAC database and I've some doubts about interconnect. Every server has 4 NIC free for interconnect but I can't use a crossover cable over three nodes. Using a switch can be a solution but a single switch become a big single point of failure. Interface bonding across two different switches is not available using CISCO switches. Can be bonded only across a single switch...but a single switch is a SPOF. Having two different interconnect spawned across two different switches seems not available in Oracle.... any suggestion?
    Thanks
    Steve

You can set up multiple switches to failover/back without bonding the nics. Boerjn is correct that crossover cables, while used, are not supported. The reason is that if a node fails, the surviving node will have to wait for the TCP timeout before it can react to the loss of a node. A switch will send back the information immediately if a node fails.
    Cheers!

  • Using opmn to start/stop hub repo and adapters

Also posted as a thread on the OracleAS General forum, I'm hoping the duplication will cover both areas of expertise. Apologies if I offend.
"Configuring custom process with OracleAS 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) "
A Metalink note kindly informed me that I could use OPMN to start and stop Interconnect hub and adapter processes. The hyperlink sent me to the OPMN documentation and that's where the fun started!
So far I have only tried to add the repository as an ias-component and this is how the section of the opmn.xml file looks.
    <ias-component id="HUBDEV3" status="enabled" id-matching="true">
    <process-type id="HUBDEV3-repository" module-id="CUSTOM">

Can anyone advice on where and why I'm going wrong?
Sometimes you wish you'd never seen the hint in the first place!!

Well, I now have a working solution.

Once I added the working-dir attribute to the process-type tag, things began to fall into place. working-dir is set to the directory location of the repository start script and I repeated the same for the crmapps adapter. My biggest clue came when I added the crmapps adapter to the opmn.xml and when I tried to start it, the log file indicated that it couldn't find the adapter.ini file. The rest came naturally after that breakthrough.
It needs a bit of rejigging but so far, results are good.

Any Idea Team, i beleive the cluster interconnect adapters were not successfull.
I need any guidance/any clue, how to correct the private interconnect for clustering in two guest LDOMS.

You dont have to stick to default IP's or subnet . You can change to whatever IP's you need. Whatever subnet mask you need. Even change the private names.
You can do all this during install or even after install.
Read the cluster install doc at docs.sun.com

  • Anyone else have an AGP card that\'s seen as PCI in device manag

Does anyone else have an AGP card that's seen as PCI in device manager > display adapters > general > location PCI bus 1,device 0, function 0
I'm running Win2k and that's what mine says
I have my video set to agp in bios :(

I think that is correct, even though it sounds strange (sometimes USB is seen as COM3). But if you are not sure about the status of the AGP, use a program like WCPUID . Sometimes, under Win98 the AGP is not enabled unless you install first the drivers for the motherboard.

  • Interconnect - workflow

I am setting up oracle interconnect adapters AQ to DB etc. The adapter connections
work fine. However when I add content based routing and use workflow in-between
    the connection does not work.
I have checked through the adapter and wf logs and there are no error messages. It appears the
workflow WF_IN queue is piling up, but it is not getting to the start proces in workflow.
Workflow is working with other applications etc.
I have looked through the forums for similar problems, and there is a listing suggesting
to check whether the events were exported to workflow correctly. I am not sure what to look
for here, or what to do if the events do not exist. The processes in workflow exist
and they have been linked with a notification, validated, and saved to the database.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Check the post-installation steps on Oracle workflow with InterConnect, if release 9.0.2 this should be on page c-33 in the Oracle 9i Application server installation guide (chapter c.3.4).
The issue is to create workflow listeners for wf_in and wf_error. I assume that you should create "listener" for posting to wf_out as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • SEVRAL Network Adapters

Recently purchased a new Envy 700-414 and when I go to control panel/system/device manager/network adapters, I see SEVERAL. Is this normal?

    Hi,
It appears that your PC was configured with multiple adapters at some point.  You can tell that by the #2.  If your PC is working OK then don't worry about it. I also see IP version 6 which is somewhat unusual.

    Hi,
    I have same problem...
The led is not working, no F8 in flash cards, no wifi adapter in device manager.
The problem appeared after system's being reinstalled.
I tried everything (also from this thread) and including attempt to install new wifi adapter- same situation occures.
When I search the internet to find the solutions it apeared that many people had same problem after reinstaled the system.
    Please help :)

    Hi
    > The problem appeared after system's being reinstalled.
How did you reinstall the OS?
Did you use the Toshiba Recovery disk?
If not then I assume that you have installed wrong WLan driver
    > no wifi adapter in device manager.
Do you have a yellow exclamation mark in the device manager -> Network Adapters?
If yes, then this would mean that a WLan driver is missing
I dont know what WLan card you have but you can find all WLan drivers here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
PS: ensure that BIOS is up to date and that it has been set to default settings.

  • Adapter with instances slow performance

    Hi
I have a big performance problem with interconnect adapters, when using instances. the processing time inside adapters becomes too high, example Processing Time = 10,735 ms.
The adapter works fine, then we put another instance and uncomment and changed the following parameters
    instance_number=1
    agent_reply_subscriber_name=AS400GN1
    agent_reply_message_selector=recipient_list like '%,AS400GN1,%'
    instance_number=2
    agent_reply_subscriber_name=AS400GN2
    agent_reply_message_selector=recipient_list like '%,AS400GN2,%'
    The aplication name is AS400GN
The new adapters work fine, i mean, they receive requests and give replies, but the performance drops from 400 ms to 10 seconds.
The platform is windows 2000 with OAI 9.0.2
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
the only adapter.ini parameter that you should change for attaching multiple instances of an adapter to a spoke is the 'instance_number' parameter, which needs to be unique for each adapter instance.
Usually you don't have to (and must not) change the agent_reply_subscriber_name and agent_reply_message_selector parameters EXCEPT the adapter needs to process integration points that follow the Request/Reply paradigm.
    So, two questions here:
    1) Does this adapter (or any instance of it) handle Request/Reply integration points?
    2) What adapter type are we talking about? DB, AQ, MQ-Series?

  • Windows 7 x64 on 2009 MB, step-by-step instructions and solutions

ok, after spending days on this with about 10+ clean installs on 2 different machines and searching forums about various problems, i'm going to go step by step in a flow-chart like manner to describe the steps and various pitfalls in getting windows 7 ultimate 64 bit installed correctly on a macbook (late 2009)...most of this i didn't figure out on my own, this is a compilation of solutions found by others. i'll try and link or credit anyone i can, but honestly can't remember where i saw all of this. part of this is to share my days of frustration to try and save someone some time. also, in case i have to do this again, i want a record of it so i don't have to start from scratch next time.
i don't have everything working perfectly, but i have wireless and sound, but not sure if all the drivers are up to date. i'm still working on the headphone issue, i don't have sound yet with headphones, but i got the speakers to work.
i'm going to preface this by saying that windows 7 is a horrible piece of software, i'm only helping a friend do it because she's an architect and needs autocad, but she wants a mac for daily use. also, i'm doing this from a spanish install of windows 7 (here in south america), so it's a pain to translate this cruddy convoluted OS into english as i'm not familiar with windows 7 anyway, so i'll do my best. i'm not a pc expert. also going to say that the windows 7 x86 and x64 installs i've done on a couple macbook pro 15's seems to work much better (full trackpad functionality, expose works) and without as many problems...i don't know why it doesn't seem to work as well in x64 on the macbook, i'm still investigating.
also, i want to say that a fresh (first-time) bootcamp partition with windows install after a clean mac os x install seems to produce the best results. i say this because i wasn't happy with all the hacks in my first couple attemtps, so i erased the bootcamp partitions and re-created them to re-install windows 7 again. but i started experiencing some peculiarities that never happened in the first install after a clean Mac OS X install. it's as if the computer leaves artifacts from previous installs and acts funny. also, reboots and start-up times seem to be slower now than when it was a first-time fresh install. anyway, i'll try and outline all the weirdness here, indicated by asterisks *
    SO, HERE GOES:
    1) Go to Bootcamp Utility > Create Bootcamp partition
    2) Afterwards, this should take you to a restart into the windows install dvd....if install dvd boots fine, skip to step 3
** if you get a gray screen (happened to me after subsequent re-install attempts), you have to power off and reboot holding down "C" key to boot from the dvd...or you can hold down alt/opt key to get the icons of bootable volumes, at this point it should be mac os x and the windows dvd. the point is, force it to boot from the dvd if it hangs on re-start.
    3) Windows install should start. Select language, etc....You should then get to a screen listing all the partitions (should be 3 of them). Choose the Bootcamp partition and format (erase) it to proceed with the install.
    4) Windows should start installing all the files and will reboot a couple times, here's where things get weird possibly. On the first attempt at installing Windows 7, the install went smoothly on restart.
** some of you might get a blinking cursor and a black screen that goes on forever. Supposedly this is a bug in Windows 7, having to do with video drivers or something. I don't understand because my first install attempt, it rebooted just fine and the installation continued.
anyway, what you have to do here if you get the forever-black screen is power down the machine with the power button and restart holding the alt/option key. this time when you get the bootable volumes on the gray screen, choose the Windows partition, which will now appear. DON'T boot up from the DVD. upon restart into Windows, you should be back in the installation process and it will attempt to finish the install here.
it might be my imagination, but once i had to reboot into the dvd here to actually finish the install. technically Windows is not finished installing at this step, you just have to figure out how to get past the black screen to finish the install. try both.
    5) Windows should go back to where it left off before the restart, then finish the install.....and restart AGAIN. On my first attempt, the restart went smoothly and started the "first time user" process...
** some of you will get the black screen YET AGAIN, this happened to me on my subsequent attempts at re-installing Windows. again, you need to power off and start up holding the alt/option key, choose the Windows partition and it should take you to the "first time user configuration" process....since at this point, windows is indeed installed.
    6) Here you will fill out all your information, product key, etc...and get into Windows. Here you will have some other problems.
Problem #1: you have no drivers to run Windows on your Mac, so you will need to install Bootcamp in windows from your Mac OS X install dvd
Problem #2: you have no "right click", because you don't have drivers, so you might not be able to eject the Windows dvd to put in the Mac dvd
Solutions: you can't control-click or right click, BUT YOU CAN hover over the DVD drive ( "D:" in your computer, my PC or whatever it's called in english) and see if there's an "eject disc" option.
for some reason, my Windows dvd was spinning and not being recognized, so i just rebooted (alt/option) into Mac OS X and ejected the disc there. the point is, you need to eject the Windows disc and put in the Mac OS X install disc to access Bootcamp for Windows.
    7) Reboot into Windows (if you had to boot into Mac to eject the disc). Insert Mac OS X install disc. Navigate to BootCamp setup.exe and run it.
** the first time i did this, it ran no problem. but in subsequent attempts, it gave me the "x64 not supported by this computer" message that everyone seems to encounter. there is a bypass for this outlined here:
    http://www.techulous.com/hardware/how-to-apple-boot-camp-64-bit-for-windows-7-on -unsupported-macs.html
    8) Ok, so now you should have Bootcamp 3.0 installed. Now you need to update it with Bootcamp 3.1 update. Download it here and run it. This is required for 64 bit support, I believe this is the link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl979
** hopefully you don't have problems, i didn't, so you might have to search the forums since i can't anticipate what might happen here, it worked for me every time.
    9) Ok, i think it might reboot after the update install. Now you have Bootcamp installed and most of the drivers you need, however not everything works. Some of the drivers will be out of date.
Problem #1: you may or may not have updated nvidia drivers. mine are ok, but check nvidia website if you have doubts. most of their drivers are for PC hardware, however, so the ones on the bootcamp disk and update should be fine.
Problem #2: almost everyone has wi-fi connectivity problems. it has to do with the wrong/outdated broadcom drivers from bootcamp. i will outline how i got it to work (based on someone else's solution i found in some forum or other).
Problem #3: almost everyone is having sound issues. i'll explain what i did. i still have no sound coming out of the headphone jack, i'm working on that next. but i have speaker sound and no red light coming out of the headphone jack.
** first of all, you should probably download firefox from internet explorer in windows, then update adobe flash, it's a pain....i used another computer to download the drivers, then transfered them by USB drive, but you can do it however u want.
Solution to wi-fi: ok, not sure where i got this information, but i downloaded HP drivers in a file called "sp45524.exe"....here's the link:
    http://www.wireless-driver.com/download/hp/hp-broadcom-wireless-lan-windows7-dri ver-v560188.htm
apparently the broadcom drivers in Bootcamp 3.0 and 3.1 update won't install on Windows 7 x64 for some reason, lot of people are getting "code 10".
    what i did is this:
9a) run the .exe file, it will create a folder called SWSetup\SP45524 that will house the drivers. there's a setup file in that folder, i didn't try it. perhaps it will install from there, but everything i read suggested a different step. ** if you run the set up file, you may have to run as administrator, or use the "troubleshoot compatibility" trick to get it to work.
9b) Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager > Network adapters
you should uninstall or deactivate any drivers you have. if it's not showing any wi-fi adapter, right click and "check for new hardware" (not sure how it's translated into english from spanish)....you should have an unknown device pop up with the yellow icon and exclamation mark. double click on that, assign it as a network adapter.
when you get to the driver tabs, you can install it from there. this is where it gets tricky. click "install driver", "check drivers on this computer", "choose from a list of drivers on this computer", "use disc", and in the dialogue box ("install from disc" that says "copy manufacturers files from", navigate to the C: SWSetup|SP45524 folder and click until you can accept. this will load up a different list of drivers.
(sorry, i'm translating the Windows from spanish to english, and i'm not familiar with exactly what they say in english, so you'll just have to use your imagination)
you should now have a small list of drivers. personally, i chose the first one on the list "Wi-Fi adapter Broadcom 43224AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n", but the second one worked also. again, i'm doing this on a late 2009 white macbook (6.1) and it works. according to the date of the driver, it seems like it might not even be the most current and might be older than the one that's on the MAC OS X install disc, but none of the ones on the disc work. this one does. (thanks to whoever found this out, i can't find the original link of the post with this driver reference).
Solutions to sound: ok, there are multiple posts on this, everything from updating realtek to sigmatel...personally what worked for me was to download the most current Cirrus Logic drivers.
everyone has been pointing to this post:
    http://www.stuffedcow.net/macbook_audio
it doesn't really tell you what to do exactly. i'm not even sure what to do, but here's what i did. actually, i downloaded what was supposed to be the CS4207 driver here:
    http://www.cirrus.com/en/products/pro/detail/P1233.html
then i followed the same procedure as before with the network adapter driver...."install driver", "check drivers on this computer", "choose from a list of drivers on this computer", "use disc", and in the dialogue box ("install from disc" that says "copy manufacturers files from", navigate to the folder you just downloaded from the above link.
you should have an updated list of drivers. what i don't understand is that the Cirrus site lists the most current driver as CS4207, but the only thing that has 4207 in it starts with CDB. in any case, i chose the last one on the list, CS4206A (AB 99).
i have no idea why i chose that, it just seemed to be the most current. in any case, sound works now.
Ok, i tested all this stuff in skype. wifi, microphone and speakers work, isight works. however, still no headphone sound. so if anyone knows how to fix that, please let me know. i haven't gotten to that part yet. but i've spent like over a week trying to figure this out. windows 7 is so horrible that there seems to be so many steps to getting it just right, and i just found myself starting all over (i didn't mention the nightmare with license breaks with AutoCad due to windows reading the clock differently...that's another hack that i had to deal with...and failure meant re-installing everything).
    ok, off to bed now....

    Windows 7 x64 all updates
Just doublechecking. Does that include the recent chkdsk hotfixes?

  • MSI StarForce FX5200-VT128

Well, before starting, let me say that I only have a few hairs left on my head, I pulled them all out in the last 36 hours. I'm all out of options and you seem my last hope.
-- skip if you don't want details --
You see, I got this card, with a box that said "FX5200 VT-128". Box looked nice, it had an embeded tuner that wasn't ATI (I thew it out the window, it it responsible for me wearing a wigg), remote control (RF), and a rather new nVIDIA FX chipset that I heard good things about. Besides, I know nVIDIA drivers to be a one-click install and work flawlessly (at least they did so far)
So I got this card into my W2k SP4 box, DX8.1, installed the nVIDIA CD, personal cinema setup. Then the drivers from the MSI disk. Rebooted, and the option to install video capture drivers appeared. Did so and Intervideo WinDVR was displaying TV, stereo sound and all. Yey! Remote controlled TV.
Then the storm came. I got this CATV modem and the installation died at some point. New W2k, SP4, fresh install. Installed the software, drivers, got a BSOD. Mrrr. Went on and installed the web version of the drivers. No dice. Upgraded to DX9. Nope. And so on and so forth, I've been up 36 hours now and I'm turning a redish tint.
IT DOES NOT WORK ANY MORE!
    -- end of skip --
It worked before. Nothing changed. Same card, same TV, same software, same OS. Tried 3 versions of drivers, all work fine on the video card, but TV tuner does not work, as follows:
44.02 (on CD) - Remote control does not work (There is an FAQ on the site about this, says upgrade driver but link is broken, needs "&kind=10" at the end). WinDVR hangs, so do all other WDM tuners.
53.04 (the one in the FAQ) - remote control still dies, as opposed to the FAQ. WinDVR hangs
56.64 - bad - remote control dies(against what MSI says), windvr does not tune
I currently have v44.02 on video card with capture drivers v2.2, still does not tune. By this I mean that TV apps start, display window that is actually TV, except that it's some kind of start-of-band (distorted, mis-tuned TV station, probably beginning of VHF-L). If I try to autoscan, tune to something, change input, switch pal/secam/ntsc, NOTHING HAPPENS. It's as if the driver got read-only. WinDVR either crashes or scans at about 8 channels/second (used to do around one/s)
You might want to know what else do I want except complaining
Well, please, PLEASE, if anyone has Windows 2000 SP4 and this card (that lists as Personal Cinema FX 5200, as opposed to the box, that states FX5200-VT128), tell me what configuration you have.
Tell me what DX version, what video card driver version (Device manager>Display Adapters > Properties > Driver) and what Capture Drivers you own (check the same for nVIDIA WDM Tuner). And patches, order of install, anything I haven't tried.
I have GIGS of software to put in this installation and I can't start if I need a fresh install.
Also, as a bottom note, I read most of the forum, sticky posts, googled, nothing shows. I'm a system admin and a coder, in a word, a professional, so don't waste time on details if you don't feel like it. Just point me in the right direction.

    Hi,
I've tried to install web server 7.0U3 on Debian etch 64 today and ran into the same problem. The solution to that problem was to install those packages: ia32-libs libstdc++5 as discribed here in one of the comments -> http://blogs.sun.com/kkranz/entry/installing_sun_java_system_web
    Cheers,
    Alex
