Managing multiple bluetooth devices at home (permanently disconnect some)

Hi. Small apartment. Two rooms. Both have iMacs, and a wireless keyboard and wireless trackpad respectively.
So 2 iMacs, 4 bluetooth devices.
My iMac in my room keeps picking up the bluetooth keyboard and trackpad from the next room.
I keep "disconnect"ing the ones I do not need (by guessing, because their name shows up the same).
But the computer stupidly keeps switching them on again.
How can I permanently tell my iMac to ONLY connect itself to my keyboard and trackpad which are 10 inches from it, and NOT to connect to those that are in the next room?
Thanks!

System Preferences/Bluetooth - hover the cursor over the keyboard/trackpad you want to delete and an x should appear on the right edge.

  • Multiple Bluetooth devices

i have a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH receiver in my vehicle that has Bluetooth. The microphone pickup isn't great so I use a Bluetooth headset. Both work great individually but not together. Skype always defaults to the Pioneer since its first on my iPhone device list. It's possible to switch by toggling the headset off/on but I'm now losing sound on both devices if I need to toggle twice. I'm doing that if the Pioneer switches back to music.
I've tried disconnecting and calling again but I get the same result. I don't recall if I've closed the app and tried again. I'll give that a try.
Any ideas. This isn't much of a problem on the default iPhone telephone app since I can select the Bluetooth device to use. Better yet would be if iOS allowed me to reorder my Bluetooth devices so I could always default to my headset.

The name of the device comes from the device itself, thus there is no way to change this on the iPhone.

Is this still true even for iOS5.0.1 & iPhone4S?
I just paired it to my 2011 car & the iP4S shows up on the bluetooth devices list as iOS.

  • How do I manage multiple itunes devices ?

How do I manage multiple itunes devices with other family members on a single computer?
I do not want to share libraries.

There's a couple of options (other than using specified playlists or manual management out of a single library).

  • Managing multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac

May be a very simple question to answer, but can I manage multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac?
I ask as whilst I'm totally Mac'd, my partner who has her own Apple account has a Winows laptop and experiences problems updating iOS software on her iPhone 4S and iPad 3 Gen via the laptop. I'm thinking the problems may be overcome if we manage her iOS devices through my iMac.

Thanks dwb .... I thought there'd be a catch .... not to keen on all that media and apps on my iMac!
The specific problem is that whenever she updates to the latsest version of iOS using the latest iTunes for Windows on her PC laptop she seems to lose something in the process. One time she lost all her texts and the other day when updating to 5.1.1 she lost all her reminders. Not the end of the world but frustrating and shouldn't really happen and doesn't happen to me using the iMac and OSX.

  • Multiple Bluetooth Devices with different functions

Is it possible to run multiple Bluetooth devices at once?
For example, my BMW is currently paired to my phone and the integrated hands-free operates flawlessly. I would like to run a seperate A2DP device to my Aux input to be wire-free, but before I buy it, will I be able to run my BMW hands-free and my A2DP paired at the same time. Will the phone transfer to the BMW when an incoming/outgoing call comes? As far as I know the A2DP device has no microphone, so I don't believe it's meant for taking calls.
    Thanks

I second that question for my Audi A4. Have the phone paired with the car via Bluetooth for calling, but don't want to use the Audi AMI cable for playing music, as that fixes the iPhone to the "Accessory enabled" screen ( know I can get around that by jailbreaking) and start Auto Play. I'd like to use the iSkin Cerulean RX Bluetooth dongle instead, and plug that into the Audo AMI cable.
But I'd have to have my iPhone paired to both the car (for phone) and the Cerulean RX (for A2DP audio) simultaneously. Is that possible? Anyone?

  • How to manage multiple users/devices/Apple IDs on a single computer

I got my 8 year old an iPad mini for Christmas and I'm about to set it up but I need some advice on using multiple IDs on one computer. I have an iPhone 4s. I assume I will need another Apple ID for the iPad mini so she can use Facetime. How do you manage two devices with different IDs on one computer? Will my movies and music be available for the iPad mini ID? What happens when I plug the iPad into my computer? Do my iPhone apps on my account disappear? Do I need to log out of my iTunes store account? Is their a danger in mixing the two accounts? I was told to be careful if you plug another iPhone into your computer because it can wipe your phone and replace it with another users info if you don't log out/in correctly. It's very confusing so if anyone could give me some advice on how to set this up and manage two IDs and devices on one computer it would be helpful. Thanks:)

This should be of some help.

Your daughter is too young to have an Apple ID because the minimum age is 13 years old. You can use her email address for FaceTime and Messages. You add the address as the contact address when you activate both of those apps. But both apps will still have to be tied to your Apple ID.
I was managing 5 different devices with one iTunes library and all devices had their own unique content on them. It is not that difficult to manage.
there is lots and lots of information out there on how to do this. Check some of these out for more information.

  • How do I connect multiple bluetooth devices to macbook pro

    Hi,
I would like to connect bluetooth headset(Bose), my Magic mouse together to my macbook pro.
Also, If possible, I would like to use bluetooh headset and wired headset at the same time.
Is it possible, if yes, could some one guide me.
    Regards

Multiple Bluetooth devices may be connected to your computer at the same time.
Set up differs from device to device. The Bluetooth set up assistant should find new devices when they are turned on and in range of your computer.

  • Operating multiple bluetooth devices and "default ...

Hi everyone, I recently i got my self one of these bluetooth bracelets and as i have a stereo bluetooth kit in my car, i started to have problems with these connections.
They won't work together because both of them are recognized as audio devices for the n95. The bad thing is that i can't have the bracelet already paired with the phone in order to pair the bluetooth kit (the bracelet must be manually unpaired, turned-off, etc BEFORE THAT), and vice versa.
What i wanted is not to have to manually unpair anything before a new pairing process, and i thought that toggling an enhancement as default in settings, would do that, but it doesn't, and i don't know what's the use of it then.
Can you please point me a solution, or maybe a 3rd party software that can handle these bluetooth connections in a better way?
    Nokia n95-4, fw 20.2.005
    Thank you

Unfortunately, Bluetooth for the iPhone only works with phone calls. That's it. It will not let you transfer files to other Bluetooth devices, or stream audio to Bluetooth headphones or speaker systems.

  • Is there no way to make the iPhone 3G support multiple bluetooth devices?

I use a bluetooth headset and my car has bluetooth support. My old phone would automatically connect to whichever device is on and in range. On the iPhone 3G, I have to manually unpair/pair each time I get home or leave home. This is very cumbersome. Is there no way around this and/or will there be a fix update out soon?

Go to the control panel/devices and printers, right click on the printer and then select printing preferences. There should be an option in the printing preferences for Page Order. Just change it to the other setting, click Apply then Ok. Print another document and see if page 1 is now on top.

  • Multiple bluetooth devices(Speakers) attached to Ipad mini

Hi There , I wonder if you can tell me if I can connect multiple ie 2 or 3 seperate bluetooth speakers to my Ipad mini as I have speakers in different rooms in the house and wanted to know if I can connect more than one at a time so I get music through the house , Thanks J

You can connect multiple, but the ipad is limited to playback on a single device.
There are methods to add splitters with additional bluetooth broadcasters to achieve what you want, but it is not an inexpensive option.
Itunes on a computer does offer multiple speaker options.

  • Multiple Bluetooth devices for ipad

i want both of my kids to watch a movie on my iPad but I can't figure out how to get two Bluetooth headsets to workout the same time

This might seem really old fashioned, but you can buy a headphone splitter and plug two sets of headphones into the splitter, which will permit two sets of headphones to be used at the same time.  A headphone splitter is pretty inexpensive too.  Here's a link to some options I found.........
