Managing OS updates on Multiple Systems running 10.8

I'm looking for a solution, perhaps someone here will have a workaround or an option that I have missed or overlooked.
We have several 10.8.x machines on our corp network. I noticed since 10.8 the Software Updates are pushed through the AppStore but in actuality it's seperate from the app store and downloads OS patches through the app store but doesn't autheticate with any apple ID. Dispite the prompts which are actually asking for the Apple ID to update the preinstalled Apps, iPhoto and iMovie.
My concern is I want to allow users to update the OS at thier leasure but I dont want users using personal apple id's for app purcahses and then expenses those app purchases to our finance dept. (as those apps will remain tied to the staff's personal apple id) On the other side of the coin from what I understand I cannot simply create a master Apple ID and link it to all systems as Apsple limit the number of devices associated with each id. Even if I could use one account to update systems, how would it handle previous app purchases? (I wouldn't want users dloading or installing previously purchased apps from that account just becasue they show up in appstore.)
I asked my local genius who told me I would need an OSX server to centrally manage updates - but in all honesty, I dont know if he understood my concern.

I suggest in the future you don't wait until the last minute to install software you need ASAP. Otherwise, you may find yourself stuck on iOS7 release day when every Apple server and Apple support offering is slammed to the wall. You will probably have to wait a week or so until things settle down.

Applying Solaris 10 Update 9 to system running only Update 7

Hi, is it ok to go from Update 7 to Update 9 or even Update 10? When I attempt this, the "upgrade" appears to succeed, but it doesn't seem to install anything. It's strange. The package list it says it's going to install is empty. I attempted this by attaching the .iso (this is a VM I'm updating) and then running the installer directly from the cdrom drive. I've also tried to boot from the cdrom drive with the update 9 iso attached, but it appears to want to do a new installation over the old.
I don't currently have access to get Update 8 or I'd just try that, so I'm stuck at the moment. Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the reply. I found out the disks weren't the actual patch bundles, but full OS installations.
So, I did end up getting the patch bundles, and I've launched it (Update 9, x86) and it's been stuck on the 3rd patch for about 1hr now. It's patch 119255-76. SHould a single patch in a patch bundle take this long? This is running Solaris 10, update 7 in a VM, applying patch bundle 10_x86_0910. It's driving me nuts because, if' it's actually stuck, I'm just wasting time waiting for it. Anyone have experience with this patch? THanks.

Deploy sprint updates remotely and/or to multiple systems?

As a system administrator, we have too many systems to have to go to each to update the DPS components and the end users are on managed systems so they do not have rights to install software themselves. Is there a way to push the updates to multiple systems remotely? We use Apple Remote Desktop for most tasks like this but the sprint updates are not distributed using a package file like apple uses. Do you have any suggestions?

Anyone have a solution?

Release Management 2013 Update 3 doesn't display retry button

When using Release management 2013 Update 3. I do not get a button to retry failed releases. I am viewed one answer on here that states the release needs to be automatically created from a build. I tried that solution and it still does not appear.
I am the Release Manager and I have every permission given to my account. Can anyone help me with this.

Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.
Is there anything you could suggest. Thanks for your time.

Has anyone updated your system running OS X Server 2.2.2 with the Security Update 2014-001 (Mountain Lion)? If you have, may I know if you have any issues?
Also, does anyone know if a Apache HTTP module that was compiled with version HTTP 2.2.24 will work under HTTP 2.2.26 (updated by Security Update 2014-001)? I am asking because the module mod_jk.so is not available in the stock Mountain Lion but only in /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/libexec/apache2/ (inside the OS X Server 2.2.2 app), and I am using the module for my Tomcat installation interface to HTTP server.

Actually, the university I work for is having tons of issues with our Mountain Lion computer (all models) booting and it seems to be tied to this update. After installing this update, the computer starts booting, gets to the grey screen with the Apple logo and then won't go any further and the cursor changes to the spinning color wheel thing. A permissions repair resolves the issue temporarily, but it always seems to come back.

RAR - SU24 Config Updates - Multiple Systems

I was in the process of updating the SU24 data within RAR and was wondering how GRC differentiates between a transaction that exists in multiple systems. Typically only technical transactions would exist across systems, but this may not always be the case.
I can't say with 100% certainty that a tcd that exists across systems will be maintained with the same SU24 data. Nor can I say that it "ALWAYS" should have the same SU24 data.
When you upload the SU24 data from multiple systems and the same tcd/auth object/auth values exist, will the values be overwritten as you upload the text files for each system? I'm assuming yes? If this is the case, you would have to be cautious to the order in which you upload the text files per system.
We use SRM, BI, PI, and ECC. Any comments would be appreciated.

yes the text files do not have the SID but when you upload those files in RAR you specify for which system you are uploding it. By selecting the system from drop down you tell GRC for which system the SU24 data is for.

If it's a Core Duo Mac, no.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X DVD, and if the computer can't run 10.8, a download code for 10.7.

here my data services is installed in one server with rfc server as windows services in same server.
i have done the required configuration in ecc side.
my question is how do i use same data services jobs which are configured as real time services for both my sap connection?
in simple terms how do i installed dqm for multiple sap system having single data services server.

I have the same situation with My Satellite P10. The unit need about 20 seconds longer before I am able to use operating system. I really dont know what can be done to make it better. I have read that the processor driver should be exchanged with processor drivers used before SP2. I didnt try it yet.

Multiple Solution Manager Connectivity to 1 Satellite system

I have a requirement. There is already an existing landscape with solution manager ECC, BI etc. The solution manager is configured for EWA, Maintenance optimizer etc. I now have to install a new solution manager and connect it to the same set of satellite systems so that I receive the EWA, configure MOPZ again. Will this create any kind of a problem and technically how can we do it? I have two ideas for this scenario
1. Connect the new solution manager to the same satellite systems and do configuration as normal. Got this idea from the below link but not sure how it will work.

2. Is it possible to push data from the existing solution manager to the new solution manager?

You need the SMD Agent in order to have ABAP data going to the Solution Manager. Some RFCs are established directly from Managed System to the Solution Manager to extract E2E Change Analysis, Exception Analysis. The Workload Analysis and Host Information (SAPOSCOL) is extracted from WIly EM
Having that said, you can imagine that you cannot have only RFCs and you cannot have only data extracted from WIly EM.
I suggest you to take a look at the FWK Administration in the solman_workcenter, choose the Managed System tab, and start looking into the details of each extractor. Some have an RFC destionation, others have SOLMANDIAG. The SOLMANDIAG are coming from the Solution Manager Java stack, which is responsible to poll the Wily EM.
The reason you need two SMD Agents is because the SMD Agent connects to the ABAP stack, retrieves data, and then connects to the Wily Enterprise Manager. The Solution Manager polls data from the Wily EM and persists it in the BW.
The SMD Agent doesn't support connecting to two Wily EMs at the same time.
So it is required to have TWO SMD agents polling data from the ABAP stack, at the same time, one of them reporting to one Wily EM, and the other reporting to the other Wily EM.
Each solution manager has it's own Wily EM, and it will pull the ABAP data from the Wily EM.
It is not possible to make the two Solution Manager's connect to one Wily EM, since the setup framework needs to see a SMD Agent available to run the setup wizard and to create the destinations. So each Solution Manager needs a SMD Agent running in the physical host.
