Managing Site - Very slow

Lately when I have to set up a new site and I click new or
edit in Manage Sites, it's very slow, almost like its hung up and
DW8 is freezing up, finally it goes to the next window. What could
cause that? It's never done that before. Is it a bug or something?
I'm using version 8.0.2

Probably better off asking this question in the DW newsgroup

  • Filling out form in FedEx Ship Manager is very slow...

All of a sudden trying to fill out a shipping doc in FedEx Ship Manager is very slow. Each letter typed ends up with athe spinning beach ball for 5 or 6 seconds. Safari version Version 6.1 (8537.71). Never had an Safari issue before with this site and Firefox works fine. (Ended up using FF to get the shipment done)
Any ideas what is going on?

Same here, I create many, many Fedex labels on a daily basis for work. In Mountin Lion things were working excellent, just upgraded to Mavericks and Fedex is unusable. Firefox (even in its latest version 25) works perfect with Fedex and on Mavericks too. This is definitely a problem caused by Mavericks and has nothing to do with FedEx. I think it is related to how security for JavaScript has been changed, or how Sandboxing in tabs and JavaScript relate to each other in the new version of Safari. No updates to the latest Java will fix it, because the fields on the FedEx form are populated through JavsScript coding and in this case Java is not being invoked at all. Thats why you may have different versions of Java installed, or not even have it installed, yet in Safari 7.0 those forms from FedEx and evidently form some other sites will beachball. So the only solution currently is to use another browser, which is really a lame solution. If Apple wants to make us use Safari more often, step up to the plate and show an improvement in the browser, not regressions. Mind you this is a huge regression! I have been creating labels in Fedex for some 7-8 years now and there has never been an update to Safari that would cause such a disaster. And by the way, I use Webkit nightlies. Granted the developers there tend to break things, but are very responsive and provide a fix usually within day or two. Those are the same guys that develop the new versions of Safari core and rendering, so I'm curious as to who would be voicing support here in the discussion. One thing is clear, even todays nightly of Webkit is also beachballing, so the problem is not directly related to Webkit.

  • Concurrent  Manager is very slow

    hi,
My concurrent Manager is very slow. It is taking 1 min
    to run simple reports also
    why it is so...
can anybody help me please...how to get rid out of this problem
    My version is 11.5.9
I put processes for concurrent standard manager as below
    actual processes = 10
    target procesess = 10
    only 3 users are connnected.
what may be the problem friends

    Hi,
List the tables and indexes associated responsible for creating a stage for the Concurrent Managers.
    Try this:
    ALTER TABLE OWNER.FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS MOVE;
    ALTER TABLE APPLSYS.FND_CONCURRENT_PROCESSES MOVE;
    ALTER TABLE APPLSYS.FND_CONCURRENT_QUEUES MOVE;
    REBUILD INDEXES ON THE ABOVE TABLES;
    ALTER INDEX APPLSYS.INDEX_NAME REBUILD
    OR
    ALTER INDEX APPLSYS.INDEX_NAME REBUILD OFFLINE;
Answer yourself: Check the size of the tables and see if you are purging the obsolete data regularly.
If you cannot purge the data then:
    1) Shutdown application and concurrent managers
    2) Take the backup of the tables: the three mentioned above.
    3) Take an export of the tables (owner - apps)
    4) login to database
    5) truncate the original tables.
    6) drop the tables.
    7) recreate the tables - you can get the structure information from the backup you have taken.
    8) import the data into the tables.
    9) start concurrent managers and application.
    10) Test if your concurrent managers are still slow ?
Hope the above mentioned steps will help you achieve the kinda performance you are looking for.

  • IWeb site very slow

I have created a website with iWeb08 for a local theatre company but my problem with it is that everyone trying to access it tells me it is very very slow and they also have problems with fonts (it looks good on my Mac but terrible on IE). Is there anything that can be done ? I am thinking of re-creating the site with Freeway 4. I generally like iLife'08 but iWeb is a big disappointement for me...

Your download speed is determined by the size of the page file, your server response and the speed of the internet connection of the end user. None of this is an iWeb problem- it applies to all websites no matter what application you use to create them.
If you depart from the web safe Mac/Windows fonts you can't expect them to render correctly in Internet Explorer - the worlds' worst browser.
You can get round this problem by converting your text to an image in iWeb.
To cut your download time you can decrease the size of image and media files and refrain from putting too many on a page. Its a matter of common sense and trial and error.
Optimizing your files before uploading to the server will make your website noticably faster to download.

  • Site VERY slow

I've got a flash site that from time to time seams to be
extremely slow. It has an intro page then a loading page before the
main site. The main site also loads swf files when you click on
thumbnails. The problem is that the site is very slow and is even
worse after I've updated it. I'm sure there's something I can do
the speed it up, but I don't know what. The hosting company say
there's no problem with their systems.
If it helps you can see the site
    here
    Thanks

I've checked the site and it's fast!
Flash websites use processor power on the computer when you
view them. It might be slow because you were checking the website
    on a slow computer....
On mine it works great :-)

i would recommend enable the developer dashboard on the web app and check which task is consuming the more time i.e. webpart, query to database etc.
also any change to web app since the issue started, any new webpart added to the page, any solution deployed or something else.
also did you try to recycle the app pool of the web applications?

  • Https sites very slow on HH3 ....an idiot posts...

    Hi
I'm an idiot as you shall see.
After having spent some considerable time reading this and other forums I think my problem is summed up as:
    - HH3 been happily operating for some time but after several months an issue started to develop.  Any secure site, (shopping, banking, work log on etc )suddenly takes an age to load and eventually they start to time out
    - all devices experience the same effect at the same time - desktop, laptop, ipad
    - turn off HH3 for a few minutes and then on again and lo and behold they speed along for a few days until they start to slow down and so on through a repeating pattern.
From what I've been reading turning it off and on again isn't clever in the long run as your line 'looks' worse to the BT guru exchange thingy which may downgrade your speed (ours ADSL typically 5M) and I'd obviously not want that to happen.... it's also a pain in the backside to keep wandering around the house to flick the switches.
Cue lots of browsing and my idiot interpretation leads me to think I should be doing something clever with port-forwarding(?)  Looking at the hub manager it looks like I could choose https and direct it to A device (say the laptop) BUT...
1- does this mean that going forwards ONLY the laptop would be able to access the https sites?
2- can I open the https to more than one device in the hub manager
3- am I completely barking up the  wrong tree and I should be looking at something else entirely?
As per my intial comments this isn't my forte at all so if any help could be in really basic terms I'd be grateful.....

    This is rather odd....
The differences between https and http happens at a different (higher) part of the network stack to either Wi-Fi or ADSL, so it seems at first thought unlikely that the HH is the root cause. On the other hand for it to happen on all your devices suggests that it is not an OS issue (which is where I would have thought this would lie) - which points us back to the HH as the common failure point.
One thing that does occur to me is that a few years back I had a router that would lose connectivity whenever I tried to open a RealPlayer stream forcing me to restart it - this was resolved when I replaced the router, which tells me that router faults can sometimes be triggered by specific network protocols.  This makes me suspect you might have a fault in your hub. The first thing to try is a factory reset to rule out a software or configuration issue - if that does not help then it may be hardware related, but the only way to verify that is to replace the hub (or ideally borrow one for a bit).
Port forwarding will not help you as that is a way of allowing incoming connection requests to be handled by a server on your network - wheras your browser makes outgoing requests, and I suspect you are not running any servers on your network. In any case it would do nothing to address the underlying fault.

  • Site manager very slow

I'm using DW8 ver. 8.0.2 and lately when I go to the site
manager to create new or edit a site it's very slow, like DW is not
responding, then it finally goes to the next window. Is there some
bugs in DW8 that need fixing?
Also: I added this topic yesterday and this morning it wasn't
    listed in My Forums. Why?

How many sites do you have? Are the sites all located on the
    computer that
is running DW? Are you running antivirus scans in real time?
    How large are
    the sites?

  • Very Slow Site Response

    Dear All,
I would like to say thanks for all.
Let me explain our environment first then move on to the queries.
Environment: We have one SharePoint 2013 application VM
windows 2012 server, two web front end VM Windows 2012 server and dedicated SQL physical server.  The SP VM has 2*vCPU (2core) and 16 GB of physical memory, DB has 2*CPU (8core) and 16GB of RAM.  All servers are connected via 1 GB connection.  Intranet
is connected via 100 Mb link and for internet via 5Mbps ISP.
    Farm Configuration:
Both front end servers had Managed metadata service and distributed cache service
Application server had CA (basic service) and managed metadata service, there was no excel, Visio and other service.
Site: We are developed custom webpart and all other stuff
like design at all.  The average page size is 1.5Mb.  The site was extended to intranet and internet (anonymous) zones.  We are already configured BLOB cache, object cache and output cache.
    Clarification & Queries:
While we are doing the load test in intranet site by 300 Concurrent user in the LAN (i.e 100 Mbps). It getting very slow and "Service Unavailable" error.  Please, why
the servers are not supporting 300 concurrent users?
While we are performing the test, the network traffics are received from client (test agent) to WFE and send to DB. Please, Why the page cache and object caches are working or not?
If the site will opened to internet, how the site and server are react to users?
Please give us you needful help.
FYR please look on to the load test summary https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/579571
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sathiya

    1) As a rule of thumb a SharePoint server can support in the region of 100 active users per SharePoint server. 300 is within the realm of expectations, depending on test content and definitions of active. You haven't mentioned the CPU load or the amount
of memory paging you're seeing on the servers during the test. I would expect them to be maxed out on one or more of your servers? Note that RAM load isn't directly helpful as SharePoint is a greedy application and may be using all of it at very low load levels.
    2) Caching reduces the traffic but does not eliminate it. You're looking in the wrong place to see if the page cache is active. From memory you need to examine HTTP headers to verify if page caching is active or not.
    3) In what sense?
    4) No problem.
The link you posted is broken.
Finally you describe this in the title as 'very slow site response' which is not what you're describing in the text (fairly well) which is better described as a lower than hoped level of concurrency. Are you also getting slow response times at lower load?
Really finally: You've posted this in the wrong forum, this is a search specialist sub forum. You would get more notice and assistance in the general forum for this thread. Hopefully a moderator can move it for you...

Firefox is very slow to respond when opening and nearly always stops responding altogether, even refusing to react to the Task Manager "End Program" command. The "not responding" error message also comes up during navigation on line. Several attempt have to be made to get on line. A loss of stability seems to be endemic at the moment.

    1. upgrade to lion, which should over write previous software and the reasons for it being slow.
No, you don't want to upgrade over a buggy system, Lion has issues of it's own that will only complicate matters, plus Lion is slower than Snow Leopard.
Learn all the pitfalls before you upgrade to Lion, like all your Rosetta/older programs will no longer work and more.
Leave Lion for a new hardware purchase is my advice, it's still got plenty of security and other issues.
For your performance, your likely better off replacing the hard drive with a 7,200 RPM model and maxing the RAM, download the free MacTracker to find out your specs, and OtherWorld Computing is good for videos, tools and parts.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/installvideos/
    2. Format the hard disc and reinstall snow leopard.
That will work, provided your data is off the machine first.
Now how do i reinstall snow leopard as it was an online purchased upgrade from leopard.
The 10.6 Snow Leopard disk that you upgraded 10.5 Leopard from actually has the full OS X 10.6 on it.
All you have to do is stick the disk in and hold the c key down while booting, use Disk Utility to erase the entire drive, quit and install 10.6.
Of course your not going to get the free iLife that came with the 10.5 grey disks, see if you can first install 10.5 with the same methods, then setup with the same user name as before, then upgrade to 10.6
I think Apple nulled booting off the 10.5 disks, but it won't hurt to try.
Another method would be to install 10.6 fresh by itself, then use the program called Pacifist to extract iLife from the 10.5 disks.

Over resent weeks the down load time for the Appel TV Gen 3 has gone very slow, To the point that you can not watch the movie as it does but buffer and you have to stop about every 15 mins. I have a fully cable internet at 100mps or more. Other Australian sites down load movies in 2-3 min at worst and often can stat and play thought in 1 min 30 secs.
Apply TV was not like this in fast month to April, But May and June are Not Good

Have you checked at different times?
