Managing TV shows directly on the iPad
Hi,
I have a Mac and an iPad, and I watch a lot of TV shows purchased on iTMS, mainly on the iPad. It seems that I don't know how to use at best the Video app of the iPad, or that it lacks many functions. My questions are :
- how can I mark as seen the shows directly on the iPad, or sync correctly their seen/unseen status with the Mac (All my old TV episodes are indicated as unseen on the ipad and seen on Mac)?
- how can I delete a seen episode on iPad without having to sync with the Mac. I know that I can go to the settings and delete them in Utilisation/videos, but it is rather complicated! There is a modify button on the page of TV shows but it does nothing.
- how can I configure automatic download of the new episode on the iPad rather than on the Mac?

Do you watch these shows on your iPad at home while on the same network as your Mac or when you're away from home or on another network? If the former then you are probably better off connecting you iPad to your Mac's iTunes using Home Sharing and streaming them from your Mac to your iPad over your LAN. That way you never need to copy them onto your iPad, just use it to watch them.

If they show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes app on your other devices, or the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes then you can re-download them. Otherwise you can copy them from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and then sync them to your other devices.

Hi, name is Artie, I am not tech savvy, but am an old geezer. My kid is laughing at me for buying an iPad. I think my question is simple- is there a headphone that plugs directly into the iPad? I am interested in something cheap/simple that will allow me to watch shows/movies on the iPad while sitting on the couch with the Missus while she watches her shows on tv. I have a separate keyboard which is Bluetooth, but would prefer simple headphones so I can leave a pair at all the locations I will be using the iPad at, on a regular basis. Thank you Artie
The iPad has a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack on it.
Any set of headphones with a 3.5 mm jack will work.

(ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly. Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them. Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view. I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes. My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.

I purchased some movies off iTunes from my account (but from my father IPad) to download as a gift,
but didn't realize he can not view if not logged in with my account.
Is there any way to save directly to the IPad (regardless of account) so he can view?
Or transfer to his account?

Is there a way to delete songs or edit the rating directly on the iPad?

I hear my music mainly using my (new) iPad. Since I want to remove songs that I don't like and rate my best songs, I am looking for a way to do that directly on the iPad (not on iTunes on the PC or Mac and syncronizing after). I did not find a way to do that in the iPod player. Did I miss something? Does anyone now a music player for the iPad that allows me to at least set the rating of a song (so that I can delete the bad rated songs later on the PC or Mac)?I have ios7 on my ipad since yesterday ....not too shabby but I can't get songs or albums deleted neither by swiping, holding on the icon nor using itunes. What am I doing wrong?

No, at the moment you can only delete music when connected to your computer's iTunes, you can't delete it directly on the iPad.

Why are my photos on iPhone not showing up on the iPad?
photo stream is on both the iPad and iPhone but the pics on my iPhone are not showing up on the ipad
I'm not sure how true this is..... Then again I'm not sure I totally understand this whole cloud thing yet. But I have 742 photos on my photo stream on my iPhone and only 144 of them on my iPad. I turned off photo stream on the iPad and turned it back on and it loaded even less then the original 144 pics. I'm at a loss. They were all synced with my iPad until recently. And if this statement is true about syncing only the new ones since turning on photo stream then my iPad photo stream would have loaded zero pics. What happened?

Itunes says ipad sync with other library but i downladed everything directly from the ipad.
hello, I downloaded all apps directly throught the ipad as I wasn't sure how itunes worked (i tried but couldn't). Now I'm trying to sync it and it say it is allready sync with another library and that I will loose all apps. I have all passwords but don't really now where to use them. And I dont really wat to pay all the apps again. What can I do?

If so, with your iPad connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPad.
Now you should be able to select Sync Apps under the Apps tab making sure all apps below are selected before syncing.
You can re-download purchased apps without having to purchase the apps again.

Had current ipad since March. Recently videos (in photos app) that were able to be viewed are now missing. The commonality is that they were videos that were not uploaded directly to the ipad. Anything that I've uploaded since March is still accounted for. Just strange because I have viewed these videos since using this ipad. Only recently have they been "removed." WIll try to manually load them back, but any thoughts as to why? Thanks
If the videos were not uploaded to the iPad - (and I'm never sure what that means to another user - synced from iTunes?)- and they were taken with the iPad itself, you will have to restore from a backup in order to recover the videos if they are really gone from the device.
If they are purchased videos and they are in your iTunes library, sync them back to the iPad.

My Itunes account on my PC refuses to acknowledge my ipad as it hasn't got v11.1 itunes - it tells me to go to www.itunes.com to download the lastest version of itunes directly to the ipad - but when I go there it just says that itunes is already loaded onto my ipad and I cant find a way to upgrade - can anyne help please
Your computer needs iTunes 11.1 in order to connect to your iPad, assuming the iPad is running iOS 7. Either way it is likely to be iTunes on the computer that needs an update or a repair.

My Samsung TV has a USB port. When I connect the cable from the iPad to the TV I can only show Pictures and Music. Why does the videos not appear and how can I show videos on the TV.

We have a Windows 2003/2008 server-based network with a dedicated print server which we would like to be able to print to over Wi-Fi. How can I set up the printers on the iPad without downloading a third party application such as Print Central or Print N Share? I want to just click the arrow and "Print" then choose the printer, which doesnt show up. I want to be able to use the existing TCP/IP-based network that we have to reach these queues, not having to install Bonjour or AppleTalk to reach them.

KMQ7This would really be the "Holy Grail" right now. I think this a feature that every large organization requires. AirPrint works on a small scale, but is not really an enterprise class application. In addition it uses the Bonjour discovery process which is difficult in a large LAN WAN environment. For those that would remind me, I am aware of the enhancement link
