Managing WLC - AIR-WLC4402-12-K9

I am trying to discover my WLC's via snmp (v1 or 2), but am having trouble doing it. I had configured the snmp community strings (using CLI and https) and did not succeed both ways. I even added the IP address and mask for the mgmt server but am unable to do this.
I am not using WLSE at present and want to discover the WLC's for inventory and availability. For mgmt. sw, I am using nodeview/ciscoworks/CA unicenter.
any help would be appreciated.
thks

Thanks Frank, Steven,
I have got it to work. I had to enable snmp v1 to read. And I used 0.0.0.0 and mask 0.0.0.0 to do it.
One other question, As I have my mgmt stations on diff. subnets, how can I get the WLC to be discovered by all. I do not want to have it accept snmp from all (in other words no 0.0.0.0). But I use the same community string for all mgmt stns. and the WLC does not let me create multiple entries with the same string. Other than having diff. strings, is it possible.
Thanks once again.

  • Vulnerabilities from WLC - AIR-CT5508-K9

    Hello, Guys
The follow vulnerabilities were found in my WLC - AIR-CT5508-K9:
    Somebody knows these errors.
Port: 22/tcp     Running vulnerable SSH service: OpenSSH 4.0.
Port: 22/tcp     Running vulnerable SSH service. Vulnerable OS: Linux 2.6.15 - 2.6.27.
    Port: 443/tcp     SSLv2 is supported
    Port: 443/tcp     ip(xx.xx.xx.xx):443 negotiated the SSL_RSA_WITH_DES_CBC_SHA.
Port: 443/tcp     Running vulnerable HTTPS service.
    Port: 443/tcp     TLS/SSL certificate is self-signed.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks,
    Rodrigo

The first 2, there's nothing to do about it.
For support of SSLv2 and weak cipher encryption, there are commands for that.
    config network secureweb cipher-option sslv2 {enable | disable}
The last one just requires you to install a signed certificate on the WLC management.

  • One WLC AIR-CT2504-K9 for Main office and 3 Branches

    Hi ,
I need to configure a WLC AIR-CT2504-K9 with the followings requiremets:
1.- There is a main officce where the WLC and 7 LAPs will be installed.
2.- There are 3 branches; one LAPs in every branch  will be installed.
3.- SSIDs for internal users and guest will be the same in each office.
Is it possible to set this scenario ?? (see complete info in table)
In the past I configure some WLC 2100 but I noticed some difference with this new WLC-CT2504
one of the differences that kept my attention were regarding ap-manager interface (not shown)
and virtual interface ( shown as NOT SUPPORTED)
Should I set ap-manager interface or is enough with managment interface ?
why the message "Not support" in virtual interface ??
How can I use one port for two interfaces (as is proposed in table), if I try to do this a message error is displayed
    "Error setting AP Manager interface".
iF I set one interface and associate to one port (Enable) I can not set second interface in the same port so remains disable
This model of WLC just has 4 Ports.
I have read last config guide but is not clear for me because there is no examples of this kind of scenario.

    Hi Scott,
I configured virtual interface from startup configuration wizard.
(Cisco Controller) >show interface detailed virtual
    Interface Name................................... virtual

Hello I need help! I have the  this controller AIR-WLC4402-25-K9 can I add the AP1232 to this controller? Is support this?
    How can I do that?
    Thanks

It depends on what version of code you are running.  So long as you are running 7.0 or older, that AP is supported.

  • Prime Infrastructure to manage WLC 5760 with IOS XE 03.03.03

Hi there Is IOS XE 03.03.03 on WLC 5760 to be managed via Prime infrastructure 2.1 or what version do I need? It seems to be not fully supported with 2.1... Thanks and best regards Dominic

    Hi Dominic,
The release notes http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-1/release/notes/cpi_rn.html#pgfId-43893 show support of up to 03.03.02
I have got a 3850 WLC running on IOS XE 03.03.03 managed by Prime 2.1
The release might not be up to date. When the release notes for Prime 2.1 came out, the highest supported is 03.02.03 and a few days later got changed to 03.03.02.

  • Asset Management in Air App

    Hello All,
I'm building an AIR application (2d platformer adventure game) which will be packaged on a CD for installation. I've embed the majority of the game assets into a static file to keep it simple and organized. This way I can reuse assets and swap them without much digging.
    example:
    [Embed(source = "../data/gfx/spritesheets/boyHero.png")] public static var boyHero:Class;
In the early days of the projects, everything went to plan. However as the project has grown to be over 28MB, I've started to run into Out Of Memory errors. These occur when I add new assets, refactor for a while, or add new classes. Once I get this error, I can restart FB and then work for another 15-20 minutes.
I've modified my .ini file bump up Flash Builder 4's memory allocation. It's currently set at:
    -Xms512m
    -Xmx1024m
While I'm at it, here are the specs/plug-ins that I've got installed:
    FB v 4.0 (build 272416)
    JNA Library 3.2.7
    subclipse plugin 1.6.17
    subversion client adapter 1.6.12
    subversion JavaHL Native Lib 1.6.15
    SVNKit lib 1.3.5.7406
    Mac OSx v 10.6.7
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB DDR
    My Questions:
    1) Is the issue with the path that I've chosen for the way I'm handling in-game assets? I am streaming in some assets such as tutorial swfs which are loaded via the SWFLoader. I could go this route for all assets... but, should I? Is this the right way to handle a disk game? (The game runs without a hitch when installed on QA machines...)
    2) Provided the embeding of static assets isn't an issue, Is this a FB4 bug? Where should I head for more information?
Thanks very very much in advance!
    -J.

  • WLC: AIR-CT2504-50-K9 Vs HP J9420A

    Helloooo
I need to show the best in Cisco controller versus HP (HP MSM760 Mobility Controller) controller in point of Security and mobility and other
difference will make choosing Cisco WLC as a piece of cake.
So your help is needed, please

    Salam Samer,
I have no idea about the HP product itself. But you can always check the datasheet of the product (2500 WLC) and compare the specs with the HP one.
Here is the datasheet of the 2500 WLC: http://goo.gl/dSLZbp
The price is not mentioned in the datasheet. That can be a basic element to decide the product sometimes.

  • Cisco AIR-WLC4402-50-K9 Enterprise traps

    Hi,
I have multiple WLC4400 devices implemented in one of our supported networks. We use Entuity (Eye of the storm) to collect snmp information and traps.
The device up/down monitoring and connectivity is working normally. The issue im seeing is that our tools is receiving Enterprise Traps, and they look to be unrecognized by the tool. (receiving raw data) I have looked through the Cisco Mibs and tried to identify which one should be added to our tool to resolve, but there are wayyyy to many to choose from. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,

You mention above the part number for a autonomous AP then state it is LWAPP. Was it converted? If it was, is it attaching to the same controller it was initially attached with in the conversion process? If not, the SSC is the issue. You must install the SSC hash on the controller. Next, look at the date and time on the controller to insure accuracy. Next is the AP getting an IP address on the same subnet as the controller management and AP manager interface? If not then insure you get an IP address and enable option 43 or DNS lookup of the controller.

  • Upgrade WLC and APs

    Hi,
We have 3 WLCs (AIR-WLC4402-50-K9) running 6.0.196.0 code.
There are ~55 APs shared among WLC1 and WLC2. WLC3 act as global backup for WLC1 and WLC2.
APs on WLC1 are configured WLC1 as primary and WLC3 as secondary controller.
APs on WLC2 are configured WLC2 as primary and WLC3 as secondary controller.
Since we are planning to deploy few 3502 APs therefore we need to upgrade the WLCs to code 7.x
    I was planning the following:
    1. upgrade WLC3 first and use the new code as backup image first and the existing one as primary
    2. upgrade WLC2 in the same way as WLC3
    3. predownload the new code to the APs associated with WLC2 and swap the image to use the existing one as primary and the new one as backup
    4. upgrade WLC1 in the same way as WLC3
    5. predownload the new code to the APs associated with WLC1 and swap the image to use the existing one as primary and the new one as backup
So far if either the WLC or AP restart for some reason come back with the original image.
    6. Change primary image to 7.x on WLC3 and reboot > WLC3 comes up with new image
    7. swap image for APs registered with WLC2 and Change primary image on WLC2 to 7.x
    8. Reboot APs with WLC2 and WLC2 as well > APs boot up with new image and go to WLC3 if WLC2 is not up yet or back to WLC2 itself
    9. Check if APs are on WLC3 if so reboot APs again to go back to WLC2
    9. Repeat step 7 for WLC1 >  APs boot up with new image and go to WLC3 if WLC1 is not up yet
    10. Check if APs are on WLC3 if so reboot APs again to go back to WLC1
Is the above mentioned process sufficient or do somebody know a better/shorter one?
Do anyone have some experience with such excercise?
    Thanks,
    Krisztian

    Hi Ven,
    OK thanks for the answer.
However I would need sort of confirmation on the entire process .
Suppose WLC1 and WLC2 are the primary and WLC3 is the backup controller for both WLC1 and WLC2. WLC3 has no APs associted with it.
    What I was planning:
    1. Load the new code to the backup WLC3 and swap image to use the existing image (6.x) as primary and the new code (7.x) as failover. Reload controller?
    2. Move the APs to backup controller WLC3 (in such a way you mentioned) and predownload backup image (7.x) (which is in fact going to be the new code eventually)
    3. Upgrade the primary controller WLC1 and use the new code (7.x) as primary image. Reboot controller. WLC1 comes up with new code (7.x).
    4. Swap the image on APs to use the new code (7.x) as primary and change the primary controller to the original one WLC1. Reboot APs.
    5. Move APs from WLC2 to WLC3 like did for WLC1. APs and WLC3 still runs old code (6.x).
    6. Predownload backup code to APs.
    7. Do step 3. for WLC2.
    8. Do step 4. for WLC2.
    9. Swap image on WLC3 to use 7.x as primary and 6.x as failover. Reboot WLC3. WLC3 comes up with new code.
    10. Relax have some beer and enjoy
Is the above described the correct way?
    Thanks,
    Krisztian

WLC 4400 is end-of-sale since December 2010.  Your only choice is the WLC 5508 with corresponding license.  Your software should be 7.0.98.0 or newer.

  • Manage AIR-AP1262N with WLC 5508

    hello,
is it possible to manage a air-ap1262n with a controller like wlc 5500 or wlc 2500?
the official cisco support could not answer me this question for sure.
i have found this old guide to upgrade ap´s to lap´s, but there is hothing about the 1260 in it.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html
i am a little bit confused!
    the cisco documents tells:
    "at_a_glance_c45-636090.pdf"
    ->
A wireless network with standalone access points offers a low-cost, entry-level
solution that does not require a controller. It is ideal for small-scale networks with less
than 20 access points, and offers base-level wireless functionality with the flexibility to
scale and add services over time by adding a controller.
    <-
but the cisco helpline tells that they cant say it for sure - they cant find anything about that it would work and nothing that it dont work.   ...and they have no one they could ask!^^
now I hope to find an answer
    thanks and greetings
    erik

    Hi,
As mention by Steve, download the recovery image and then upgrade the AP IOs using the archive command over the CLI and instead of using the IOS image you use the LWAPP.
The supported AP is set by the code the WLC has and not the model of WLC.
The 1262 APs are supported starting code 7.0.98.0
Here is the link where you can check on all the release notes on different codes for the WLC, and you can see which APs are supported on each code.
