Managing work and personal calendars on Nokia 2520

Just ordered a gorgeous red 2520 tablet. Hoping I didn't make a mistake.  Is there a way to have it sync outlook thru microsoft exchange for work and also have a private calendar and be able to see both merged on the tablet?  It is easily done on iphone by associating the personal appointments with the personal email address and the work ones with the work email address.  They both show on the iphone and only the work ones get synced with the work computer.  Can I do this with the Nokia?

You can try sharing your iCloud calendar with yourself as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a8694.  If you work phone has an iCloud account, you can privately share your calendar with it, giving your read and write access.  If it doesn't, you can publically share it, giving you read-only access.  This should give you the ability to view the shared calendar alongside your work calendar without merging the two.

  • I would like to be able to see my work and personal calendars in one view although I'm having a lot of difficulties.

    I have :-
An iPhone 4S set up with my personal calendar syncing to my iCloud account. All works fine.
A blackberry 9320 from work which is set using enterprise and encrypted with my corporate email (outlook 2010) and calendar. All works fine
I'd like to be able to see all my appointments/calendar all in one view so I can ensure I don't have meetings clash. This however seems impossible and I'd like some help.
So far I have tried using the active sync function to pull my corporate calendar through to my iPhone, this was successful but my company has now after 3 months disabled the function (after a new sever install, and despite challenging it is still not likely to be turned back on,due to security concerns).
I have tried entering a gmail calendar or iCloud calendar to my blackberry but again this is restricted by my company (to reduce data charges).
I'm currently struggling with inviting each calendar to each event but is not always easy and I'm getting muddled.
(Btw reverting to just my corporate calendar is not possible as I need to share my personal calendar with my wife, or I'd never see her).
Does anyone have any advice, app, procedure to help me get both of these together.
    Thanks
    Simmshady

What app are you using to access your email?  That is where I would start first.  Also check the webpage desktop version of your email homepage for further options in settings regarding personal options to include folders, views, and etc...

  • Syncing contacts between work and personal email accounts

    Device:
    Model: Apple iPhone 5s
    Storage: 16GB
    OS: iOS 8.1.2
User has multiple email accounts (both work and personal) on the iPhone 5s.  How does a user manage adding personal contacts to iPhone without personal contacts syncing to a work email account contacts list?
Issue:  User adds personal contacts to their iPhone and those contacts are now showing in their MS Exchange work email contacts list.
Troubleshooting:  User went into individual personal contacts that were synced to MS Exchange work email contacts list- selected name- scrolled down to
"Linked Contacts"- selected Exchange (with name of contact)- selected edit- scrolled down to delete contact.  This seemed to remove the contacts instantaneously.
    Also
Went into Settings-Mail Contacts and Calendar- Scrolled down to Contacts- set Default Account to personal email account.  Tested adding a personal contact and this did not seem to sync up to the Exchange email contact list.
Is there any other way that would prevent personal and work contacts from merging when a user uses the same device to manage both accounts?

When you go into Contacts - you should see two groups - work and personal
If you uncheck the work group - you will be left with the personal contacts to which you should be able to add

I have both a work and personal Iphone. I want to know if there is a way share my calendar between phones and some apps of my choosing without sharing all photo's and contacts. Is this possible? If so, how would i accomplish this?

  • Separate Work and personal CONTACTS (not BB Balance)

Is there an alternative way to have separate CONTACTS (work and personal) in a BB Z10 for us whom do not have BB Balance. I just want this for the contacts, and perhaps the text messages, I do not need the security and all other features that Balance or a BES provides... If not, do you guys know if BLACKBERRY is planning on doing this for a future update? Seems like a very useful feature...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Open Contacts, at the bottom - All, Search, select 'New Group' create Group Name then add contacts.
Suggest you name them 1business and 1private etc., then the groups will be at the top of the list. Existing contacts will just be duplicated in Groups.

  • Seperating work and personal iphones

I need to seperate work and personal iphones
At the moment I have a work phone set up with my personal itunes account and a mix of work and personal contacts.  I now have a personal iphone and need to get personal stuff off the work phone onto the new personal phone.  I have set up a work itunes account and signed out of my personal one and into the work one on my work phone but the apps I downloaded with my personal account are still there - how do I transfer the apps I downloaded with my personal account onto my work phone onto my personal iphone?
Also I want to edit the contacts on both phones to remove the personal contacts from my work phone and the work contacts from my personal phone.  There are hundreds of work e-mails so is there a fast, effective way of doing this either on the iphone or using itunes contacts on my laptop?
    Thanks,
    Rachel

Oh, this is a messy question - like asking how to organize your closets - and then asking how to move your existing organization to fall into the new, correct one.
I can tell you the desired end state - your organization should look like two different people - you at work, and you at home.  The "you at home" should have all your apps, personal contacts, music, etc.  The "you at work" should have only your work related stuff.
You should do this by having two distinct copies of iTunes, probably under two different logins on at least one (if not two) computers.
How to move your existing comingled stuff into this end configuration is a more difficult issue.

  • Z10 Work and Personal partions not separate

Was recently set up on the new BB10 BES. Balance was turned on however my work email and person email accounts show up on both partitions.

    Hey lzedvin,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Work emails and Personal emails will appear in both work and personal places.  To view the work place emails on the personal side you still need to place in the password.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Installation issue, Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign into a Nokia 2520 Tablet

I have a subscription package consisting of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom (CC). How do I install them into my Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet. Are there any known issues?

Doesn't the Nokia 2520 run the cut-down tablet version of Windows (Windows RT)? If so, I don't believe that any of the CC applications you mention will work on it... You need a tablet with the full version of Windows 8.

  • Separate work and personal Apple IDs...how to share music

I have my own Apple Id for my home computer and personal iPhone. At work, they've assigned me a new one for my work MacBook Air and iPhone--they reside on my employer's equipment, but I use the work phone all the time.
I'd like to put my music, from my personal MacBook and Apple/iTunes ID, on my work phone, which has the second Apple ID, which I can't change.
Any easy way to do this?
    Thanks...

Your devices are automatically registered for Find My iPhone using the iCloud ID that they are using.  If you want to track your spouse's device(s), you will have to go to icloud.com and sign in with her iCloud ID in order to do so (or sign in with her ID using the Find My iPhone app on your device).

  • Work and personal devices getting all imessages

I have a personal phone and computer and a work phone and ipad.
All 4 are receiving all messages, calls, etc.
I want to use iMessage for my work devices, so that i can send/receive when on wifi, but i dont want them to be paired with my personal messages.
It used to work this way, and when I upgraded to iOS8 or to Yosemite, I must have changed a setting without realizing it.
    Thanks!

    Hi ben oven1,
Please check which Apple IDs and phone numbers you have linked to iMessage on each device / computer and make sure work and home are isolated.
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage - Apple Support
That shows how to share between devices, what to look for.

  • IPad use for both work and personal by leveraging multiple iCloud backups

I have an original iPad 1 that's my personal iPad.  Since I got an iPhone 5S over a year ago, I almost never use the iPad as it's so frustratingly slow compared to the 5S, and most of the most recent apps don't work on iOS 5.1.1.
I work for a small consulting firm where a large part of my responsibilities is business development.  2-2.5 years ago, I started occasionally needing an iPad for doing sales presentations of enterprise software.  So, I purchased and expensed a then cutting edge 4th Gen iPad.  For work purposes, I've always kept this iPad nearly completely empty except for essential software. In the past 6 months, I've needed this iPad less and less for said presentations.  I'm down to not even turning it on once a month, and have gone 3 months at a time without touching it.  That said, there's always a chance I'll find out that a week from now I'll need to fly somewhere and do a demo using it.
I was really hoping iOS 8 was going to enable multi-user support, but obviously it did not.  I'm now pondering the use of iCloud backups as an effective means of multiple user functionality when you don't have to switch user accounts very often.
My thinking is that I can make sure my personal iPad 1 is fully backed up to my personal 20GB iCloud account, and that the work iPad is fully backed up to the work iCloud account.  I'd then wipe the work iPad, log in to it using my personal iCloud account and let it restore from there.  At that point I'd be using the work iPad for personal use and would completely stop using the iPad 1.
If I found out I needed to demo using the iPad a week later, I would wipe the iPad 4 clean again, after which I'd log in to the work iCloud account, let it restore, and be good to go.  Once done the presentation, I could then wipe it, log back in to my personal iCloud and let it restore.
Every time I found myself needing to use the iPad for work purposes I would simply go through the above process.
    My questions are:
Are there are any holes in my logic?
Am I risking data loss on either the work or personal account?
I assume iCloud accounts can exist with backups intact even if no device is currently utilizing them?Is there any time limit to this?
Besides the time it takes to wipe and restore the iPad, are there any downsides to the above process?
Is there any reason I cannot wipe my iPad 1 and sell it/donate it?
    Thank you in advance.

Ah, MBA makes more sense.  Unfortunately, the point of demoing on the iPad is to explicitly show that the enterprise software is iPad compatible and what it looks like on it.  Everyone's a skeptic, so I definitely have to use the actual iPad and not emulation software.
As far as overwriting a backup, I would think that the only backups ever visible would be those for the account i'm currently logged in as.  I don't see how it's plausible then to overwrite any in the wrong account.  Again, these are 100% separate accounts that have nothing at all connecting them.  If it were possible, wouldn't the people who sell their iDevices on ebay be complaining about how the recipients deleted their iCloud backups.  I'm effectively transferring the device in the same way...just between by own 2 disconnected accounts instead of 2 humans with 2 disconnected accounts.
I don't really view it as a time drain, as when switching accounts I'd just "Reset all settings," and walk away.  I'd later log in as the other user, and would walk away again while the iPad just automatically starts loading everything up.  I'm not sitting there waiting for it, as this is merely a luxury device that I've never once had an immediate need for.  It's just a "nice to have."
Again, this transfer would likely only be happening once every 6 weeks anyway.  The majority of the time it would be set up on my personal account.
WiFi is no issue, as I'd only do this while at home on my 50/50 FiOS.  Again, I never "need" the iPad on my personal account such that waiting until I return home from a trip would be an issue.

  • Can I share calendars on a work and personal device, with different iCloud user names?

I'm relatively new to my work iPhone, and very new to my iPad.  I've been entering events in the iCloud calendar, which is linked to the iPad under a personal Apple id and password.
My work iPhone, which (currently) has a different Apple id and password, set up when work provided it, syncs with Outlook on my work laptop using an App called Mobile Iron.  I have very little control or knowledge of this, although it works just fine.
It woiuld be useful to have any events I set up dumped into the same calendar, viewable both on my personal iPad and my work iPhone, but I dare not do anything to interfere with what my company IT has set up.  Any recommednded strategies?

You can try sharing your iCloud calendar with yourself as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a8694.  If you work phone has an iCloud account, you can privately share your calendar with it, giving your read and write access.  If it doesn't, you can publically share it, giving you read-only access.  This should give you the ability to view the shared calendar alongside your work calendar without merging the two.

  • Keep Work (ie Exchange) and Personal Calendars Separate?

Hello all. Loving my new iPhone 3G, have a quick question.
At work, we all use Exchange and Outlook for scheduling. All my work calendar info is on there, and has to be. And, all my coworkers have access to that work calendar.
This last point raises a privacy concern. I don't want my boss to be able to see every personal entry into my calendar. Is there a way to add new calendar events on the iPhone and designate it as personal, to be stored and synced with either iTunes or mobileMe, but not pushed up to Exchange? Basically, is there any way to have Exchange take over less than 100% of my calendar?
Thanks in advance, and apologies if this has already come up, I couldn't find an on point post.

I don't think that's correct... in fact I'm sure it's not. I use gmail, and my contact information does not sync, over the air or otherwise. If you go to the mail/contacts/calendars setup screen on the phone, you'll see that the gmail account says "Mail" underneath it, indicating that it syncs mail only.
Is it possible that you did something else first to sync gmail with your computer's address book? Perhaps a gmail/outlook sync utility?
As for your question: yes, you can group contacts in exchange. In Outlook 2008 (instructions for '03 should be very similar), open your contacts. Click the pop-up arrow next to the "New" toolbar button and choose "Folder." Make sure "Folder Contains:" is set to "Contact Items." This creates a separate contact group which shows up as a separate group on the phone as well.
