HOw to remove the mandatory.

IMG->Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Maintenance Plans, Work Centers, Task Lists and PRTs->Task Lists->Control Data->Define Field Selection - Execute
Select Field Selection Task Lists Header- and Selection Screens->PP/QM task lists: header screens
Here Change Number (PLKOD-AENNR) might have set as Required

How operation (Activity No) field mandatory can be removed in Network.

Hi,
In CAT2 time entries screen for a person who worked on service order,
directly I can book time entries of the person with service order number without entry of operation (activity number) in CAT2 screen, no problem with service order case..
But in case of CAT2 time entries screen for a person who worked on PS network*, entry of network operation field (Activity number) is mandatory.
Please suggest how operation (Activity number) field mandatory can be removed in case of time entries to PS network in CAT2 screen.
I want to book time entries of the person only to the Network number don't want to include operation number in CAT2 screen.

I dont think it would be possible to book timesheet entries directly against a network. Moreover i haven't come across any business scenario that demands timesheet entry against the network header.
Moreover, how do you think the system will calculate the cost if you book timesheets against a network? In a standard scenario, when timesheet is booked against a network activity system calculates cost based on the work center maintained in the activity. Work center has the cost center and the activity type combination for which rates are maintained in KP26.
Lastly, could you please explain the business need behind booking timesheets against a network header?

EJB-3 Shouldn't persiting/removing child objects be reflected in OneToMany?

I'm a bit puzzled by behaviour I'm finding. (Toplink)
I modify the list of children under an entity, removing some child entities and inserting others.
The odd thing is that I seem to have to do two things each time. To add a child I set the child's parent pointer to the existing entity and persist is, but I also have to add the child to the OneToMany collection.
Conversely, on delete, I have to remove the child both from the collection and the entityManager.
Shouldn't the changes in the collection be automatic? Or, conversely, given that the parent link it mandatory, shouldn't removing the child from the collection suffice to delete it?
ps. to clarify:
If I don't change the OneToMany collection object the child changes aren't reflected even though I find the parent entity again.

I'm afarid not - a generic feature that will allow to
delete orphan children didn't make it into the final
spec.

Specific UME Actions required for Deployement in CE 7.1

Hi Experts,
I need to know how many and which UME action are required for deploying the application in CE 7.11
For deployement, we usually assign the UME Role called "Administrator" to the ID that we use for deployment.
If I remove this "Administrator" UME role, an error message is thrown as...
com.sap.ide.eclipse.deployer.api.APIException: DeployException,cause=ERROR CODE DPL.DCAPI.1023AuthorizationException
This "Administrator" UME role has some 2978 UME Actions assigned to it.
For the UME role "Administrator", inside the assigned UME actions, I have tried filtering the UME Actions based on the filter keyword "deploy", which returned some 14 UME actions.
Now, I have made following Test case and result.
Test Case:
1) Remove the Administrator Role from the ID that is used for deployement.
2) Now Assign all the above 14 UME actions that were found related to "deploy" keyword to a Custom UME role "DeployRole".
3) Deploy using the same id.
Result : Deployement fails with the same above mentioned error.
Conclusion: There can be 2 possible conclusions...
1) None of the above 14 UME actions provide the authorization for the deployment.
2) OR There are some other UME actions which might have some dependecies that are required along with the suspected UME actions.
In short my requirement here is, to find out the specific UME actions that are required for deployment, so that i can remove the "Administrator" UME role and assign the specific UME actions needed for deployment to a my Custom UME role, and assign this Custom UME role to the user ID for deployment.

I have found out that for deployment following UME actions are required.
dc_action (Mandatory)
auth.all.all (Mandatory)
deploy_action (Not Mandatory)--> if you remove this deploy_action UME action the deployment will still work, but in developer studio, the Deploy result dialog box with OK button, that pops every time after you deploy your project by right clicking your application and choosing "Deploy new Archive and Run" will cease to appear and the application will directly run in the browser.

How to replace the virtual system as the real system in the TMS?

Hi,
I have a standard 3 systems TMS, which is 1 development system (real system, transport domain) and 2 virtual system(QAS and PRD).
And now, I will install the QAS system and replace the virtual system as the real one, How can I do in TMS?
I should delete the old TMS and rebuild the TMS with 1 DEV, 1 QAS and 1 virtual PRD? or just replace the QAS as the real one? What the operation should I do in t-code:STMS?

Hi,
Do it as follows.
1. Remove transport routes (i think it is not mandatory)
2. Remove your Virtual system that you want to replace with physical system
3. Include the Physical system into Domain and accept it from Domain Controller
4. Configure the transport routes.You can see all the transports that were in the import queue of virtual system are now in the import queue of the Physical system that you added.
Only condition is, both Virtual System and Physical System should have same SID.
All the above will be done through STMS

Customization option available in step-by-step screens of ESS applications

Hi,
Can we customise this standard step-by-step screens of ESS where we have (Overview>Edit>Review & Save --> Confirmation).like in Family memember/Dependents screen, Address change screen etc.
Customize in the sense of removing one of the steps totally if there are no mandatory fields, After removing a step 2, when we click on step 1 next button, does it directly go to step 3 ?
Do we need to import the standard source code through nwdi and make the changes or can they be done using perrsonalisations or configuration.
Sorry for couple of questions, but any info in this regard will be useful.

The steps are a part of a design pattern called Floor Plan Manager (FPM). FPM is not specific to individual components (like Family member or leave request). FPM is a part of global component (XSS). Hence I think it will be difficult to remove a particular step for a particular service. If you still think of doing this, yes you will need NWDI.

Set Advertisement settings using powershell

I need to change multiple advertisements with a powershell script. All advertisements have a mandatory assignment configured, and I need to check the "Ignore maintenance windows" and set the Rerun Behavior as "Always rerun". I created
a powershell script that read the advertisements names from a file and change each one. The problem is: When I run the script, the mandatory assignment is removed from advertisement! Any ideas how to fix it?

Sorry Paul Meehan , I didn't see the field settings in OIAN properly last time.
There is a setting exist for field 'Additional data' as Mandatory. I removed this setting and tried to release the order and I succeeded.

I need help with the fields incoterm 1 and 2. as far as I know if the field KNVV-INCO1 is filled in, lets say FOB for example, the field KNVV-INCO2 should be filled in as well with THE PLACE, lets say "Amsterdam", right? my question is, is there any possibility that if I fill in the INCO1, make the field INCO2 optional? I don't know if in customizing is there a chance to do that or if in the functional system can be changed or this would give me an error?

yes you can do from OVSG TCODE just make change your incoterms configuration as not text mandatory as follows. remove the location mandatory tick mark and make the field description as blank if you don't want to copy text in inco terms2.

If you do not want to enter any data in organization name in the future ,rather than removing un check the required field check box,so that the segment will become non mandatory.
Because removing the segment will cause mismatch in the already existing data and that has to be corrected manually.

Vista requires AA8.1 at a minimum. I think that a few have gotten AA7 to work, but it is not supported by Adobe on VISTA. I know that is not good news, but it may be that you will be unsuccessful. At the very least, expect to have to print to file and open distiller to complete the conversion. I think that AcroTray is one of the major problems with the use on VISTA.
Hopefully someone might stop by that has successfully gotten over the registration problem you are having, and possibly gotten AA7 to work in some sense on VISTA, but do not be surprised if there are no takers. Good luck.

Do you mean mandatory field of table or for the form? if it is for the table execute the following sql command -
alter table table_name modify ("COLUMN_NAME" NUMBER(10,0) NULL) --change the attributesFor the form field, remove the validation for that field and this will solve the problem, it will not validate if you leave it blank or no data entered.

You need to make that field as optional in Field status group.
Please check the FSG in G/L master(FS00) and go into OBC4
and change the status

In ACNR the number range is assigned based on the service category.
Go to SPRO - MM - External Service management - Service master - Define Service Category, please untick the check box for External Number Assignment Without Validation against the respective Service Category and save.
Now try creating a new service master using AC01, it will pick the service master No. from the internal number range maintained against the Service Category
