when I attempt mandatory adobe 9 update from 2.0.00 to 2.3.00, error 16820 prevents it. What is the error?

For some people the cf10_mdt_updt file has downloaded as zip extension, those have renamed download to jar extension.
Perhaps you can try this:
- copy cf10_mdt_updt.jar file to CF10\jre\bin\
- run CMD as Administrator and then CD to CF10\jre\bin\ path
- Type in: java –jar cf10_mdt_updt.jar and press Enter
- follow the graphic user instructions to install the mandatory update

Acrobat Mandatory Updates won't run.

When I try to open Acrobat, it says that there is a mandatory update I need to run. Unable to run the update. I also get a daily reminder that I need to update Air, but when I've clicked on it, I end up with numerous viruses when my Malware runs. Is that a part of the hacking problem?

The mandatory update I recall is for something called acrobat.com. That's an obsolete app, uninstall it. Not the same as just Acrobat, and not the same as the acrobat.com web site (which is still there).

Thank you for your post. Here is the link http://download.macromedia.com/pub/coldfusion/10/cf10_mdt_updt.jar to download the Mandatory update.
To install the same:-
Open the command prompt.
cd to C:\ColdFusion10 and then run the command as follows C:\ColdFusion10\jre\bin\jre\java -jar cf10_mdt_updt.jar
Give full path of the file cf10_mdt_updt.jar depending on where it is downloaded. And follow the on-screen instructions.

CF10 Mandatory update - stalls at progress bar

Hello, I have tried a few times to install the mandatory update on CF10 following the instructions via cmnd prompt
cd to C:\ColdFusion10\hf-updates where the downloaded cf10_mdt_updt.jar is located
execute c:\ColdFusion10\jre\bin\java -jar cf10_mdt_updt.jar
The intsaller runs fine and steps through the requisit steps - shuts down CF server fine - then commences to install only to freeze completely very early in progress bar. Im required to shut it down via the task-manager.
I have tried many times... even reinstalling CF
Does anyone have any suggestions

How to fix this issue...
- log into the windows safe mode to ensure that no other processes conflict with the update process. In safe mode non-essential processes and services do not run.
     > Start > Run> msconfig
     > switch to the "boot" tab and check > safe mode > select network option
     > switch to "General" tab > Selective startup > Select System services option only - For some reason if both default options are left it wont work
shut down then start
- enable the built-in administrator user account in windows (you can disable the account using the same command and replacing the yes parameter with no)
     > Start > Run > cmd > net user administrator /active:yes
- log on to the newly enabled user account.
- launch the windows command prompt in the administrator mode and change directory to the ColdFusion JRE at ( <root>\ColdFusion10\JRE).
- Run the downloaded update jar : java -jar <update_jar_file_with_location>
Apparently the issue was due to insufficient privileges. Even though the CF install was installed under the Windows 7 default install Full Administrator level account.
It is not resolved by only launching the cmd line under 'run as' Administrator... this simply doesnt work under these circumstances.

I can't launch Acrobat XI. I downloaded it and a mandatory update gets an error message: Error 16820. Any suggestions?

it turned out that the "acrobat_com" that I was trying to update, was so
outdated that adobe was no longer supporting it, there fore I got the
error message when I tried to do the "mandatory" update. It had to be
uninstalled, and then the new one installed from the Adobe web site.

Can you try to download the latest AIR runtime from http://get.adobe.com/air/ ? Make sure all applications are closed when you run the installer.

Mandatory Update - Error After Downloading

I have the Vista OS and an update for Acrobat will not download. It is labeled as a mandatory update, but I get an error after I attempt the download each time. Not sure why this is happening if Adobe is the one saying it is mandatory.
Is there something that I need to do to prevent the error from occurring?

Is this a copy of Acrobat you have purchased (Acrobat Pro/Acrobat Standard)?
Or do you have the free Adobe Reader and an old app calling itself "Acrobat.com"
If it is Acrobat.com, just uninstall that. It is dead.

Latest mandatory update problems

I just completed the mandatory update and it is not useful at all. The little house button on the bottom of the screen is no longer active. The locking screen security does not acitvate when you hit the button on top of the phone. You no longer have quick access to the camera by holding down the side button. There is also a new permanent on screen button that has the phone attached and since the screen doesn't lock it activates&dials. How can undo this update?

I am doing the same thing every time i pick up my phone ( 4th HTC Droid Incredible)
I have had tethering since the first one!
Tethering being hooked up to a charger at home 70% of the time so it will make it through an 8 hour shift!
Time on today 2h 49m 44s
Time without a signal 43%!
( I use a verizon mobile work phone at a place that has our own repeaters and use the Incredible only on breaks or lunch - usually messaging only)
98dbm-103dbm at home and never under 85dbm in Mt Vernon, Illinois area!
How did this brain frying phone ever pass testing? Tested at 1.4mw/g my **bleep**! (by the way-1.6 is the FCC limit)
I would say HTC and Verizon technicians where able to get passing numbers by limiting output power, duty cycles and antenna gain. If it cycles at 50% then you have very poor communication ( lost voice, 3g - no 3g, etc.)
Battery already sucks and from what i am hearing the phone will be useless if i allow and update to 2.2.
I don't want forced programs I will never use.
I do not want to lose my mail.
Don't want to lose apps.
Don't want to lose contacts.
The partial FLASH update is for ADVERTISING and I pay for the extra bandwidth use in the future?
Starting to NOT love this phone I am stuck with.

CFv10: Mandatory Update Failure

I'm currently installing CF 10 to a couple of Linux RedHat 6 x86_64 environments. All is well until I attempt to update the installation.
If I try to run any of the updates, I receive the following error:
Error occurred while downloading the update: Failed Signature verification
A little research taught me that adobe changed their code signing certificate; thus there is a mandatory update that must be run before any other can: http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-10-mandatory-update.html (I double checked our build number, we need this update).
The update won't run.

I'm trying to work with the linux console mode instructions. I run:

It looks to me like the "console" version of this installer is attempting to leverage x11... which our servers are never going to install and run. has anyone else run into this? Is the installer really that badly conceived or am I doing something wrong? is there a way to install this mandatory update in a commandline environment?

I placed the cf10_mdt_updt.jar in opt/coldfusion10/jre/bin and then I type : java -jar cf10_mdt_updt.jar and press enter.
I did the same in RHEL 6.1x64. The size of Mandatory update is 4.90 MB

I can no longer connect with others using FaceTime after the mandatory update

I updated my iPad software and now when I try to connect with someone using FaceTime I can never fully connect.

Mandatory update not working on Mountain Lion...

Is anyone else having problems installing the Folio Builder Panel update on Mountain Lion? I tried downloading the update from two different browsers and I'm getting the following error message every time:

After mandatory update of IPHOTO why did I lose all my photos

After my harddrive died unexpectedly, apple installed a new harddrive. As I was reinstalling from my backup drive, I received a message that I could not import my photos if I didn't update ILIFE-IPHOTO. I followed directions and now have a blank IPHOTO. My event names show, it indicates there are ex 48 photos, 120 photos, etc in each event, however the images are blank.
I have contacted IPHOTO support and went thru the procedures that they recommended (option command open iphoto and completed all four steps there, however I remain unable to access my photos (76000)
As bad gets worse, while attempting these changes, my external drive stopped being recognized by the computer and the computer store I took it to has still not been able to get into the partition.
So, I sit here after a couple of weeks, frustrated and lost. Besides not seeing the photos, every time I spend 5 or 10 minutes in the 'new'IPHOTO', it shows and error and shuts down. I am not impressed. If there arent any other ways to fix this, then I will delete IPHOTO from my computer and start again with Adobe Photoshop Elements and never touch IPHOTO again.
Fortunately, at least 50000 of my photos were backed up on other media so it is not a total loss - just a ton of work!
Any suggestions before I throw in the towel.

Frankly, I'm not sure where to go from here as your explanations are not clear to me. Upgrading from v8 to v9 required a purchase. Apple do not require you to buy a new version of the app just to restore from your back up, so I'm not sure what went on there. iPhoto is an element of the iLife suite of applications. It would seem to me that you have damaged backups and some confusion rather than a problem with iPhoto.
Try the following: I have no idea if it will help but it won't harm...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
