Manual BIOS downgrade

I own a g580 and i upgraded my bios to 97 version for win8 but because of that my gpu performance is now low and my fan and the synaptics device is also not working properly. I downloaded the bios utility for the verion 40 and have extracted its contents. Please tell me how to install this manually .

I have tried installing the file through windows, it doesn't work, i get an error 233- Only Secure capsule is allowed in a securedflash system. And also error 105- Command line error. Both this error persist even if i run the installer as an administrator.
Please adivce.

To DOWNgrade a BIOS you will need an previous and traditional BIOS version.
Such BIOS is not available for download.
Only the newest win based BIOS is available for download.
So this means that only Toshiba authorized service provider would be able to downgrade the BIOS.
But I dont think that new BIOS version is the reason for the issue with avid media composer.
What problem do you have exactly?

I like to Manual Update Board Bios to latest Bios before Loading OS and view current Version releases (without LiveUpdate)
Also anyone experienced Microphone Problems plugging into Mic Plug (Onboard Realtek 882) all version Sound Drivers
Low Voice pick up (Skype or Sound Recorder) have to use USB Mic
Have tested on 10 Different Boards and differnet plug in mics all the same

Not unusual that bios is removed / greyouted, when there are just the original 1.0 bios and no update versions.
Have you been able to download newer/later biosversions then the orginial bios before ?
No clue about the mic-port issue.
Sometimes separate pci soundcards gives better functionality.

HP 6730s bios downgrade

I have 6730s notebook with intel video motherboard with f12 or f11 bios on it. I flash it to f20 bios and lost my previous bios backup. Now it work ok, but there is a problems with video speed. Could you help me with bios downgrade.

Bios Downgrade please help

First of all sorry for my english...ok...I have a problem on my probook 6550b with which I have been dealing for two days now...i format my disk install a fresh copy of Win 7 ultimate 64 bit...I download al the drivers and update my bios...comp starts to working slowly,like laggy...i updated win with all the updates, use nod 32, scan everything, use speedupmypc etc...everything loks ok, but computer is still very slow...so i format again...do the same thing again...no results...So I assume that the problem is in the new version of BIOS...and here are my problems start...i tried do flash with older version but it wound let me(failure) I tried with windows key + b + power button holding 3 sec...i get black screen, fan starts to spining at ful, but nothing happend(i wait for 3min,3 times), and then i cannot power down comp unless i take my battery out..so my question is, is it posible to flash backwards on my laptop, or am i risking to brick my comp?????

Hm, @Manjunath, does what you suggest actually downgrade the BIOS or simply reset bios settings to the factory default settings? I understood that a BIOS downgrade is not possible in all instances, though this would be clearly stated in the BIOS release notes if a downgrade is not possible after the update.... So if there is no such downgrade warning/statement in any BIOS release notes between the current BIOS and the desired older BIOS, it should be possibly by simply running the HPQFlash.exe with the older BIOS and accepting the prompts/warning that the new BIOS is older than the current BIOS (i.e. a downgrade). If there was a warning/statement in the release notes of a any BIOS between the current BIOS and desired older BIOS, then it wont be possible without specialist tools, software and/or effort (if at all)!

I've download v1.08, install, but when the program flash my new version of bios my laptop has BSOD for 1 seconds..

What was original version of Windows on the laptop?
Vista or XP? (Look for Windows sticker on bottom)
To determine current bios version, enter bios setup
on boot at Lenovo screen. (Press F1 key)
Look for bios version.
Newest XP version is 2.06
Newest Vista version is 1.08
Bios files and instructions (read them!) are on
THIS web page.
Try to boot in Safe Mode to install bios update.
(Press F8 key repeatedly at Lenovo screen to display
Windows boot option menu. Choose Safe Mode.)

I have successfully downgrade my system (Ideapad Z580) to 5FCN35WW as it was written above. But I lost my serial number and UUID on my laptop. That was real trouble for me!Now I know how to prevent it.To prevent this trouble DO NOT USE switch /force when you type command on the console! So command will be the following: >winflash.exe /sv /sn /ipf bios ec /file 5FCN35WW.WPH with this command your serial number and UUID will not be lost. If you have already lost SN and UUID, you can fix them to do the following: NOTE: I am not responsible for any damage on your machine!! 1. Find correct information for SN and UUID (for example on the carton of your notebook);2. Edit 5FCN35WW.WPH using WinHex editor. At offset 181280 HEX in the text area of editor replace 22000000000000000000000000000022 by your correct serial number. Add spaces after your SN to fill all 32 bytes. All 32 bytes must be filled. At offset 1812B0 HEX in the HEX area of editor replace 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 30 61 62 63 64 65 66 by your correct UUID. All 16 bytes must be filled. 3. Save edited file to 5FCN35WW1.WPH;4. Download UEFI WInflash 1.4.83.0 flasher;5. Now you have to hack environment.dll of 1.4.83.0 flasher (size 514 728 bytes). Open file environment.dll in HEX editor (I used WinHex);6. Replace

Check twice, that you have done everything correct!!! Every modified file MUST be the same size, as it was before modification!!!9. Open the console. Navigate into the directory of UEFI Winflash: >cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\UEFI Winflash" And now execute the following command: >winflash.exe /sv /sn /force bkfp bkoa3 /ipf bios ec /file 5FCN35WW1.WPH 10. Enjoy... This procedure worked for me. Don't forget to replace modified environment.dll (~503 kB size) by it's original version (~533 kB size), which was renamed to environment.dll.BAK.

T400 BIOS downgrade- possible?

Hello, I recently I have T400 and upgraded the BIOS to v2.07. During the upgrade, via System Update, something happened and the laptop just shutdown and restarted. Everything looks good, but I do notice something flash during the POST phase that I canno not catch. My question is, How do I downgrade or repair the BIOS or log those messages so i can view them.

default primary video device only matters if you have an advanced dock with a graphics card installed in it.
While graphics device refers to the intel or ati gpu. If you set to integrated you will lose the ability to use the dvi port on the dock. If you set to ati you will able to use the dvi port.
If you are using windows vista and windows 7 you can manage the switching through the power manager software.

Satellite C50-A-1JU - manually BIOS update

Hi Forum,
is their any chance to update the bios manually? The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1JU with part number: PSCJEE. The Toshiba Service Station brings every time a service error. The other update from the website DM10S140.exe crashs every time. I tried the compatible mode, startet it as administrator but ever the same crash. Operating System is windows 8.1 and virus scanner is disabled. What i to now? Thanks for any help.

In my opinion Toshiba Service Station is a nice tool but not so important. If your notebook runs well and stabile you don't need any updates. Maybe it sounds stupid now but I use two Toshiba notebooks with original factory settings and without any updates. The first one is 5 years old and it is running Win7. The other one is Tecra model, 3 years old and also preinstalled with Win7.
All I install are Windows updates. The first thing I have done after clean recovery image installation is deactivation of such tools like Toshiba Service Station.
Believe me you can live without it.
At the end I must say that Im also sure that BIOS update will not help you at all. BIOS update has nothing to do with Toshiba Service Station functionality.

G580 20150 BIOS downgrade

Video card started to overheat and slow down after BIOS update.
Need to downgrade BIOS (older than April 24 2013), but lenovo.com contains only latest BIOS version.

After upgrading to v9.01 video card voltage has grown. In games or apps like Photoshop or other apps, which work with graphics temperature of video card grows to 100-105 celsius degrees. And performance has declined. Before BIOS upgrade max temperature was around 75 degrees and performance was almost twice as. And now I need older bios, but I can't find it. =(

If you want to downgrade to 1.7 you must >>use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<< and the attached archive.
Just start the tool and point to the attached and not unpacked bios archive (Mode1) to prepare an USB stick for automated flash.

BIOS downgrade failed

Hello I have Satellite A105-S4384 , I downgraded BIOS version from ACPI Flash BIOS version 6.00 to ACPI Flash BIOS version 2.00, the problem is now the laptop is dead , bios does not boot anymore. what is the solution , did I lost bios? is it possible to reset bios (removing CMOS battery for few minutes and put it back again )? I can't see any reason why not. I have never heard that HP BIOSes are not downgradable. Download the BIOS you want and install it.

I'm trying to downgrade the bios from 2.2 to 1.7 but when I try the 1.7 bios doesn't show on the pen drive
the bios file is in the pen drive but it seems isn't possible to downgrade from 2.x to 1.x version
Anybody can help me?
