Manual database install on SunOS
Hi all
I have installed database on SunOS
I want to manually create another database on SunOS
Which steps I must do?
Thanks...
You can use dbca command. You can choose (which I normally do) to create scripts, and execute them at a later time.

Since Firefox version 12, after Firefox automatically applies an update, Firefox will launch and immediately terminate.
The only solution is to manually un-install Firefox, completely clean the registry of Firefox entries, and manually re-install a previous version of Fiirefox that will work -- I use version 4.0. And then manually update that version to the current version.
I DO NOT install the new automatic update option -- that is, the automatic maintenance option.
BUT never the less, EVERY TIME I check for the latest version of Firefox using HELP --> About
Firefox, the UPDATE is AUTOMATICALLY RUN and FIREFOX WILL NOT WORK AGAIN.
I have put with this none sense for 18 versions of Firefox - MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!
Thanks, David BreedYou can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u>:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
Can you bring up the Profile Manager to create a new profile (possibly when starting in Safe Mode by holding down Shift)?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

PLZ DON'T SEND ME ANY LINK LIKE TELLING THAT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FR THE INSTALLATION BY ORACLE OR SOME WRITER OR SO..Well, I'm never sure what to write to someone that stuffs up the business of installing Oracle and then tells people what he will or won't accept by way of advice! ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY START SHOUTING BEFORE EVEN GIVING SOMEONE A CHANCE TO REPLY!!
It is in any case very difficult to offer any meaningful advice to someone who thinks that minor details such as his distro and his processor architecture is irrelevant.
The plain fact of the matter is, however, that 32-bit installs of Oracle on practically any distro you care to mention are simply a matter of doing a default OS installation, downloading one shell script and executing it: http://www.dizwell.com/prod/node/1208
Sorry if you don't like that advice, but it's true nonetheless. 64-bit installations can be a bit trickier, that's for sure...
Meanwhile, your ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_HOME don't appear to be set and your PATH seems to be set incorrectly, so it seems as if not very much of the necessary prerequisites have been carried out correctly. And the specific error message you're receiving seems merely a result of not launching the installer correctly. Try /media/cdrecorder/database/runInstaller, always assuming your installation media is sound, of course: I don't know how you got your Oracle CD ready, but you might take a look at http://www.dizwell.com/prod/node/1207 to make sure you did it right.
(While you're at it, perhaps you'd be kind enough to go edit your original post and break that LS_COLOURS line up, because right now it's causing your post and any replies to be fitted across an incredibly wide screen, necessitating a lot of horizontal scrolling). -
Unable to connect to EBS database installed on Solaris OS
Hi,
I deployed web service on Glassfish server which is installed on Windows Server Machine.
I am unable to communicate to EBS database installed on Sun Solaris machine.
But I am able to communicate EBS database using same Web service deployed on glassfish server on Windows 7 machine.
Can anybody help ?
Regards,
Ajay SharmaLikely it is network related and you simply don't have access to the DBMS on the Solaris machine. You'll have to check that out with your local friendly administrator and/or DBA.
Otherwise you'll have to produce some sort of error message if you want any kind of hints and tips, with no information at all nobody can help you. -

Oracle 9i manual database creation on the Red Hat 9 Linux
I installed Oracle 9I on the Red Hat 9 Linux successfully with automatic database creation.
I tried to create second database manually and everything seemed to be fine until I issued create database statement. I got the following error:
ERROR at line 1
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced.
Please help me to solve the problem.
Thank you,Ok I am having the same exact problem and I am typing this into the shell before I run the installer.
export DISPLAY=yourdesktop:0.0
I thought that would fix the problem but it still hangs and gives the same message as the other guy gets. How can I solve this problem and get the installer running? I would really appreciate any help. This is the message I get:

Manual Database Creation on win 2000
Oracle 9i(release 1) database server is installed on win2000 server.
i want complete detail steps to create database manually ON WIN 2000 SERVER.
i tried to create database manually but when i runs the
database creation script it generates an error 'INSTANCE TERMINATED : DISCONNECTION FORCED'
I AM STUDENT OF FUNDAMENTAL 1 COURSE.
rohitIt is good to know the steps to create a database manually. If you run the dbca and choose only to create the scripts you realize the steps. Apart from that if you are studying for Fundamentals I exam and you want to it because you think that content is going to appear. Forget it. In that exam there are not questions related to steps to create a database manually and less in windows.
To learn to create a database in Unix makes sense really!

DPM 2012 Manual Agent Install Fails
Hello Everyone,
Using DPM 2012 SP1, I've been stuck on an issue for some time now in trying to get a DPM agent install accomplished on a certain server. The DPM server resides on a parent domain and the server that I am having an issue with is on a child domain. Other servers
on the child domain have installed the agent without issue when doing it manually.
Here is the command I use (as an administrator):
net use X: \\DPMSERVERNAME.parentdomain.com\c$
cd /d X:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\agents\RA\4.1.3465.0\amd64\1033
DPMAgentInstaller_KB2991995_AMD64.exe dpmservername.parentdomain.com
The installation proceeds through the Microsoft License Terms, begins to install and then backs out. The error message that is generated states: "DPMAgentinstaller failed with error code = 0X80070643 error says: fatal error during installation"
In researching the 1708 error within the log file it lead me to the fact that maybe the firewall on the target server was the issue. I
ran this suggested fix on the target server:
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group=\"@FirewallAPI.dll,-29502\" new enable=yes
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group=\"@FirewallAPI.dll,-34251\" new enable=yes
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=dpmra dir=in program=\"%PROGRAMFILES%\\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\\DPM\\bin\\DPMRA.exe\" profile=Any action=allow
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=DPMRA_DCOM_135 dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=135 profile=Any
The issue still persists.

Any ideas where to turn next?I do not have a Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\ProductionAgents\RA\4.1.3313.0\amd64
file path on the DPm system.
Rather Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\ProtectionAgents\RA\4.1.3313.0\amd64
Still, I ran the DPMAgentInstaller_x64.exe
from that file path and the agent did not install.
Also, on the DPM server I have added the target machine name to the DPMRADmTrustedMachines
group. I also made sure that the domain service account is in the same group. Still no luck. -

If I were to run the initjvm scripts against a XE database to manually install JVM to the XE database, would I then be able to execute stored java code or will I run into other limitations of XE and Java?
Since the main target of XE is people who are using open source databases for development and then other commercial databases for production environments, it needs to keep up with the competition. The alternative is the free DB2 Express-C which "can be run on up to 2 dual-core CPU servers, with up to 4 GB of memory, any storage system setup and with no restrictions on database size or any other artificial restrictions". The full support of SQL PL and Java Stored Procedure provides much more smooth transition from development to production. In fact I am amazed to see the following list of features that are not supported in the free DB2 Express-C.
* Replication
* High Availability
* Spatial Extender Client and Samples
* Microsoft Cluster Server support
* Informix Data Source Support,
* DB2 Web tools
* GSKit
* APPC and Netbios

Client Install Issue - SCCM 2012 R2 - Manual Deploy Installed ok
Hello, I have sccm 2012 configured with 2,000 machine approx. It is been used mainly as a Software Deployment tool for now. On checking a recent IE10 upgrade, I noticed that there is a number of machines that do not have the client installed (and thus did
not upgrade IE). I picked 1 machine, searched in SCCM - had no client. I checked all relevant settings:
Boundary for Client in question - ok
Local Client Settings (ip,dns,no firewall, ping sccm ok and vice versa etc).
Once i right clicked to deploy the client, it installed no problem. I checked the ccmsetup log file and the only info it had was from the time that the client was manually deployed (I will attach the log below anyway). I am really puzzled as to why the client
did not install and if this is the issue why IE is not upgrading (it is hard to pinpoint as there are 250 sites approx). The automatic install task works no problem on other machines once the machine goes online.
Any help, would be great. Here is the log (I am fairly new to SCCM btw):

thanksEven if you want to do it manually as a learning exercise, I'd advise you to use dbca. Select 'custom' database type, and at the end select 'create scripts' without actually creating a database. Then study those scripts. -
10.2.0.2 Database Install Hangs on AIX 5.3
We have four new, recently-configured, AIX servers with same configuration with respect to IBM patches, kernel settings, etc. The install on our second server hangs while the other three installs successfully completed. It's not a connectivity issue with x-windows software or Putty as the OUI screen displays correctly and we enter all our install details.
We get as far as the Summary screen, at which point we review the parameters to be used, then select "Install" and the 10g screen comes up (where you would normally see progress status) and nothing else happens. Eventually the screen washes out and nothing happens. We have downloaded new copies of the software from OTN, as well as transferred copies of the files from one of the successful servers, but with the same results.
I have attached the contents of the install log file below and hope that someone may have a moment to review and point out something that may be causing the install issue. I am available to provide any additional information as requested.
RDBMS Version: Oracle 10.2.0.2
OS Version: AIX 5.3
I can email the full install log if needed, but it contains more than 30,000 words and exceeds this forum's max length.
