Manual focus while recording movies with sony HX100V?

does anybody know whether one can manually focus while recording movies (also in 60p) with the hx100V?
wondering - that would really make a difference.
thank you very much!
dom

 Hi domi,
After doing a bit of research on this it does seem to be possible to use the manual focus feature of this camera while shooting video. When you turn the mode dial to Video the camera defaults to Intelligent Auto mode, which will not allow you to manually focus your videos. While the camera is set to shoot videos you need to go into your menu settings and change the camera's mode from Intelligent Auto to Scene mode.
I hope this helps!

  • Shooting stills while recording video with the SX50

Has anyone done this?  I was shooting some video yesterday and was happy with how it came out until I realized that pressing the shutter button while recording video actually caused the video to insert a black frame and included the shutter sound.  What is this?
My Kodak Z990 was able to do this same function (take pictures during videos) and even though some of them would turn out a bit blurrier than I would have liked, it never insert a black frame and sure didn't stick the shutter sound in there.  Did Canon do this on purpose?  I'm going to have to try and pull this video into some video editor to remove the frame and sound and hope it works.
Lesson learned, I guess.  I'll take pictures and video separately from now on, just in case, but it's unfortunate that Canon screwed up badly on this feature.

    Charleyhorse,
The items you mentioned need to be set before you start the video. Once the G16 is running the video, you cannot make adjustments to white balance, ISO, etc. The people I deal with all run the video for their G16's in Auto mode and let the camera make the decisions. But like myself, they don't use video very often, so hopefully someone with video experience on the G16 can give some better insight.

  • Can I record movies with iChat backgrounds?

I was curious if it was possible to record movies in Leopard using the cool new backgrounds like Yosemite, Aquarium? If so how?

    Open PhotoBooth.
Click the left hand tab for Video (looks vaguely like a piece of film)
    Select Effect.
    Press record Button.
    Talk to your self.
Is this what you meant ?
(Also not sure on Time limit if there is one)
The File is put in Home folder/Picture/PhotoBooth and called movie (number).mov which is a Quicktime Movie

  • Very very weird webcam behaviour when recording movie with quicktime????!!!

Ok tried today playing about with photobooth, and after a while it bugged, camera not recongnised open quicktime and tried to record a movie and there was the little icon saying there was no camera. Anyway, rebooted the computer photobooth ok but slow, threw preference files relaunched fine. tried quicktime, and the image is reversedright is left and left is right how can i fix that???? Thank you for input.

I think I found the solution. Some further digging revealed that I did not have as previously assumed the latest driver for my graphics card installed. I was mislead because the manufacturer (Dell) did provide some updates, but not all of them (none in the past two years to be exact). I grabbed the newest driver kit from the ATI website and installed it. Strangely, the installer produced several errors and I get another error message at startup, but I think only the control software was affected and not the driver itself.
After some first tests, QuickTime movies behave as expected, the preview renders are working again and the crashes on exit are also gone. Yay!
Strange how much trouble a driver which is otherwise working perfectly can cause.

  • Xperia Z3 doesn't support touch to focus while recording?

Why doesnt the Xperia Z3 support touch to focus in superior auto mode?
Thats a big let down for Sony... :/

    @chickideee
Sorry to hear that you have this issue as well.
Would it be possible for you to take a report from the phone when this happens and send it to me?
First you need to enable the developer options menu. To do this, go to Settings -> About phone and tap the build number 7 times.
When this happens the next time, go to Settings -> Developer options -> Take bug report -> Report. When a report has been created (it may take a little while) you will get a notification. Tap this to share it to for example Google drive and then send me a PM here on the forum.

  • Cannot record movie with external iSight

I'm trying to use an external iSight camera to shoot some video on my MacBook Pro.
When I select the built-in iSight cam in QuickTime preferences, I'm able to capture video without any problems. When I select the external iSight cam and try to capture video, the green LED on top of the cam is lit but there is no output to the movie recording window.
If I click on the red record button, wait a few seconds, and then click it again, I get a pop-up that says: "Recording failed because no data was received."
The external iSight works just fine with both Skype video and iChat.

I have the same problem. I have a mac pro and i have an external iSight that doesn't work, however my laptop works fine with quicktime and its built in iSight. It works fine with iChat and iMovie, but i cant seem to make it work with Quicktime X or 7. I also get the same error. The Video feed from the iSight isn't showing in QT, the screen is all black, the counter stays at 00:00 after pressing the record button.
Ive heard of a fix, replacing this file: QuickTimeUSBVDCDigitizer.component
I just cant seem to find it anywhere.

  • Importing movie with Sony camera help

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC38 video camera and have recorded some video that I would like to import into my imovie 08... I have the chord (USB) that connects the camera to my mac, and have plugged them in and my mac doesn't recognize my camera. I've turned my camera on, played back video on my camera, and still nothing.
Anyone know any tips on how to get my mac to recognize my camera? Any help would be great. Thanks!

You can't import from any tape based camcorder without a Firewire cable. If you have the newest MacBook Pro, it will have a 9 pin port, in which case you need to buy a 4 to 9 pin cable. If you have an older MacBook, it will need a 4 to 6 pin cable. If you have a new MacBook, you are out of luck as there is no firewire port.
All firewire cables, or iLink From Sony, are the same. Shop by price.

  • No audio when recording movie with iPhone 4

When I record a movie, my phone does not record audio. I am sure not to cover the mic area, and all it records is static.

Had same issue from an iPad.
After airplaying a movie rented on the iPad I had no sound from iPod app on iPad and also an audio stream in Safari would not Airplay to Apple TV 2.
Videos were fine playing video and audio over Airplay. Photos app was happily airplaying images.
All OK after reset on ATV2

  • Recording movies with eos remote

Willbe that possible with the new 70D?
Is that possible now with the 6D?

I use both wired and wireless remote, RC-6 and RS60-E3 but I'm talking about the EOS Remote app.
Of course I know about the CamRanger solution and the iUSBportCamer, formerly CameraMator. But info about all three is far from being clear, allways referring about video control and viewing in one iOS device so fine as you can with an external monitor conected via HDMI.

  • Distorted / choppy recorded sound with Audigy 2 ZS and Vista 64-bit

Hi, I wonder if anybody has any idea of why this issue is happening. First let me give you my PC specs:
    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0 GHz
    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 rev. 2.0
    Graphics: 2 x BFG GeForce 8800 GT 52MB
    RAM: 4 x GB G.Skill PC6400 @ 800 MHz
Sound: Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS
TV Tuner:? Hauppauge WinTV PVC PCI II (26xxx)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP
?So here's the deal. I have no problems whatsoever with audio playback with this sound card. The issue I am having is while recording sound with it. When I record my voice via a Microphone with the Windows Sound Recorder and then play it back, my voice sounds very choppy. It sounds as if I was talking in front of a fan. The same happens with any program I try to use. If I use Audacity to record sound, the playback is also distorted / choppy. The main problem is with Skype, as I cannot use it to talk to people because they cannot understand what I'm saying because of the issue. Does anybody has any ideas why this happens? My PC is a dual boot PC with Vista 64-bit and XP 32-bit, and this issue only happens with Vista. Sound recorded plays back fine under Windows XP.
I am using the latest drivers available for this card from the Creative site.
    I'd appreciate your help,
    Daniel

A little bit off topic here, but 64bit does not mean more performance at all lol.
Sure, but there are in some cases drastic performence diferences. Under a fresh installed Vista X64 i have less CPU usage, as under 32 bit. But of course X64 uses more RAM (some tasks are double 32 and 64 bit). But the main reason I have more performence is, that the games I often play, get almost a boost. Dont ask me why, but under 64 bit EAW and FOC have the same FPS as under 32 bit. But under X64 I use a bit more Details and a higher resolution. (both are 32 bit games, so its a bit funy )?______________________?Sure there are other ways to install the drivers. But if some Setup dosent work, the first thing I try is to get it via Divice Management. And as this worked for me, I dont waste time to try other methods (Had bad experience, you can break the driver faster than install it *G*)?______________________?Some Questions I have left (after a few hours undr X64 with Creative Drivers):?Could it be, that the driver causes sometimes havy CPU usage?Could it also be, that the driver causes some lags, after you copy a file (the end sound, copy is finihed, but takes more time for "final finish", than without the drivers) - I know that Vista has some problems, on some PCs with copy, and that MS has an inoficial Patch (but dosent help for my PC so far)

  • Audio not being recording along with video on Camera.app

    Hey there guys,
As the title implies I'm having some trouble with my phone picking up audio while recording videos with the stock Camera.app. I've had my phone since release but I only rarely record videos on it so I had never really noticed. It literally won't pick up any sound whatsoever. There's white noise over the video as if it was picking up external noise but not what I'm saying.
I've tried recording with and without a case and no cigar either way. There's definitely not something wrong with the software because if I plug in a pair of headphones with mic and test it it works fine, so I believe that it's probably hardware.
    Has anyone ever encountered this?
    Thanks!

At the moment i have to go into post-production and manually set the graph equalizer at various time points ...

This won't be real-time as you record, but you could tweak the EQ in real-time after the recording thus:
Record what you want to tweak into GB with no effects.
Solo the track and output it into something like Audacity.
Start Audacity recording, then play your track in GB as you make those tweaks. That's what Audacity will record.
Get that file from Audacity and put it into GB, then you'll have that effect.
Sorry if it's complicated, but that's what came to mind. Hope it works.
