Hello Mac Friend, do you have any idea the compatible of 1333Mhz 16GB ecc module for MacPro late 2012 ?

You can spend months developing the expertise to choose exactly the right modules for a one-off purchase of RAM for your Mac.
Or you can deal with a Mac-centric Vendor who already knows this information and will provide the correct modules for your exact model Mac, and stand behind them, for about the same price. Deal with Vendors who say:
    "It works in your Mac,
    or your money BACK."
In the US, OWC (at MacSales.com) provides good support
Many readers recommend crucial, I personally do not.
I do most of my business with DataMemorySystems.com, as they tell you exactly what they are sending and have slightly better prices than OWC.
If you are in another part of the world, please respond with what markets are available to you and readers can make additional recommendations.
EDIT: 16GB DIMMs for this Mac are Registered DIMMs, and are subject to special rules:
They do not mix with other sizes AT ALL.
At most 3 modules of this size can be installed on each SIDE (6 total on the 8-core and 12 core)

  • MacPro (Mid 2012), does it work with a TITAN 6GB ?

I have a MacPro (Mid 2012) and would like to change my video card that came with it. The new video card is a Titan with 6Gb.
Can you help me and inform what I need to buy with this new video card ?   (adapters, conectors, does my MacPro has enough power capacity ?)
I will use an Apple Cinema Display 24" with thunderbolt conector.

    MacPro (Mid 2012)
I will use an Apple Cinema Display 24" with thunderbolt connector.
If you really have a ThunderBolt display (as opposed to the Mini DisplayPort version of the same display) it cannot be made to work on a non-ThunderBolt Mac. There are no known work-arounds.

  • Can anyone give a list of upgradeable performance parts for a mid 2012 macbook pro 13"?

I have a non Retina display mid 2012 macbook pro that I want to do a home refurbishment and mass upgrade on, the processor and graphics cards are both good as is but RAM gets a bit bottlenecked with only 8gb, Id like to be able to replace the built in speakers and possibly upgrade the optical/super drive as well If thats not too large an Endeavor.
I'm mostly a comp work virgin, so I want to make sure what I want to do isn't too tricky

  • Windows 7 too slow in MacPro Mid 2012

    Hi Gurus,
I have installed Windows 7 Home 64bit (by using boot camp) in Mac Book Pro Mid 2012 (OSX 10.7). I do not have any issues while installing, Windows 7 Instalation was completed successfully and Apple Drivers also.
After boot it is running very very slow (ex: Install Office 2007 took 60 mins, IE open 1 or 2 mins), I can not work in wondow7.
    Please guys help me out.
    Thanks
    Reddys

I'm experiencing exactly the same. Found some articles about re-burning the DVD but it hasn't helped.
My suspicion is that the BIOS (or mac equivalent) does not support booting 64bit OS. I remember trying to force OSX Leopard to boot 64bit and it wouldn't work. I can't recall the exact issue, but I suspect its similar.
I am installing Windows 7 Ultimate x64 in a Fusion VM - but not bootcamp - just a regular old VM. So far that is fine. Its not done yet but it is loading.
It may be as simple as a BIOS update - but as far as I know - there are none for my Xeon 3GhZ based system.
    oh well.

  • Please help me find an effective solution for an external optical drive for my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro.

I have replaced my optical drive with a DataDoubler and they both work fine but the new external optical drive enclosure doesn't work with the optical drive I took out of my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro... Well it does work and recognises my optical drive perfectly, it runs fine but it can't handle some disk installations.
I have heard that the apple external superdrive isn't reliable for playing DVD's or lasting either.
Can I have someone with experience with external optical drives to give me professional advice or just other people with solutions.
Below is an image of what I have now for an enclosure.

  • Should i go for Windows 7 or 8 for rMBP mid 2012 model with BootCamp 5.0.1?

Hello! I recently got my 15'' rMBP 2.6Ghz with 8gb ram and 512gb SSD. (Manufactured on September 2012)
Updated mac os x mountain lion to 10.8.2. Am in 'urgent' need of Windows OS to use ANSYS, and few of the high end CAD softwares like Solidworks, etc.
I haven't purchased any Windows OS as of now. When i checked the Boot Camp version 5.0.1, i just found this, ''Create a Windows 7 or a later version''
Does that mean, i can install Windows 8 on my rMBP?
    Please help!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I have seen some cases where Boot Camp Assistant 5.0.1 shows that you can install Windows 7 or a later version. However, Apple hasn't released Windows 8 drivers for the Mac so I recommend you to install Windows 7 and you will save headaches if Windows 8 doesn't work correctly. Also, Windows 7 is much better for professional applications.
Note that you will need an external optical drive in order to install Windows 7 on your MacBook Pro with Retina display

  • MacPro (mid 2012) won't recognize keyboard/mouse on startup

For the past month my magic mouse has repeatedly quit working. Fussing will get it back up and running, sometimes by shutting down. Today when booting up, I get the splash screen but neither magic mouse or bluetooth Logitech keyboard are recognized so I can't log-on.  Have tried both on my laptop and they are both seen and work fine. I need help. Thanks.

    You are most welcome

  • How do I get a line out signal from my macpro mid-2012

I went to Preferences, Sound, Output. The only option is HEADPHONES.
I want to send music from iTunes to a sound mixing board. I can use the headphone port, but the signal is weak and poor sound quality. I used to use  my iPod which works well because I have a cable that takes a line signal off the ipod port (the one you use when you are charging or communicating with the computer)
I am using a digital mixer now controled with the Mac and don't want to mess with two peripherals when working a job.
I have only recently moved from DOS/Windows machines after 30 years with them. My last Windows laptop was a Toshiba. Whenever I plugged something into the 1/8" port it would ask, "Headphones or Line Out?"

Do you have a 13" model? I believe (I could be wrong) that the 2012 13" model only supports line in, no line out. You used to be able to switch the port to in or out but I don't think that feature is available in newer models (again, I could be wrong - I don't have a 13" to test).

  • What ram do I need for my mid 2012 '13 MacBook Air

    Is it user replaceable?

It's not replaceable or upgradable by either customers or Apple. The only opportunity to increase its RAM is when configuring a model in the online Apple Store prior to buying it.

  • Macbook Air mid-2012 battery life issues -- a possible culprit ?

    Hi all,
I've posted and followed a thread regarding diminished battery life for the mid-2012 MBA, when Mountain Lion was released. I never could fix the problem, was contacted by Apple but that didn't solve anything either.
The troubles I was (and still am) having with my MBA were :
Battery life reduced by at least 33% when I upgraded to Mountain Lion from Lion, following a firmware update.
No change when I clean installed ML.
No change when I upgraded, and then clean installed Mavericks.
My battery, after 13 months of use, had its capacity reduced to 70-80%, and has now been stable for one year at 70-80% capacity. It now lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours, and has never lasted longer than 5 hours since I upgraded to ML, which was a few weeks after the laptop was purchased...
I've tried everything that was posted on the forums, SMC resets, etc. Now to the (maybe) interesting stuff.
I stumbled today on something interesting. I was researching my issue to see if people with the same laptop, that followed the same firmware upgrade path than I did had similar issues. Long story short, a forum post led me to something interesting, located at /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/ACPI_SM C_PlatformPlugin.kext/Contents/Resources
DISCLAIMER Whatever you do, do not try to remove / move anything in this folder.
What is interesting is that my Macbook Air has the following identifier : MacBookAir5,2. However, in the above-mentioned folder, there is no MacBookAir5_2.plist, it stops at 4_2.plist and then goes on to MBP models. Now, the question that I have is could the fact that this plist is missing be related to my battery issues ? In the sense that without this file, the kernel does not know how to properly manage the power, read the battery status / thermal sensors ?
I would really love to fix this 2-year old issue that has been plaguing my laptop ever since I purchased it.
    Cheers,
    Hadrien

Edited to add a screenshot of the plists directory.

I leave my LithiumIon battery plugged in when near an outlet.  But I use it on battery down to 40% at least once a month.
Using Coconut battery (download from macupdate.com) you see my battery is just fine after 18 months:

  • Dual G5 1.8GHz manuals for RAM Upgrade

I somehow lost track of the manuals for my mid 2004 dual 1.8GHz G5. If they ever came in printed form. Don't these manuals get installed by default somewhere on the harddrive? I didn't find it in the manuals section here.
I need it because I want to install aditional RAM. I ordered 2 x 1GB DDR SDRAM PC3200/PC400, do they fit? So far there are 4 x 256MB installed and system profiler shows 4 free slots. They have to be installed in pairs on this machine, is that correct? How do I know wich are the corresponding slots?
    Many thanks
    Nils
    dual G5 1.8GHz

No, it does not indicate 333mhz. It refers to the chip clock speed, not the bus speed.
Errr...? I'm puzzled. My half-knowledge means I'm only aware of a RAM DIMMs "having" some MHz number. Whether that is "chip clock speed" or "bus speed" I don't know. I'm aware that the computer has a bus speed (900 MHz in the case of this particular Power Mac) wich may or may not be directly related to the MHz number my DIMMs need to have. Whatever - I need DIMMs that "are" either 333 or 400 MHz, no?
The important thing is to check the serial label inside your case. Either 333 or 400 >will be noted.
What serial label exactly do you mean?
I opened the case and saw a "400" somewhere on the labels of the installed DIMMs.
Please compare the order number of your Mac to the tech specs documents.
    Is this it?
I don't have the original bill of the Computer, not here at least. Ain't the model number of the computer noted nowhere on the Computer itself? Anyway, both 1.8GHz models referred to on the pages you linked are noted to have 400MHz DIMMs. I think I have the pre-June 2004 G5, since that is the only dual 1.8GHz G5 with 8 DIMM slots (and there's 8, I saw them)
    Thanks so far!

  • My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs or so, then the machine shuts down and restarts.

My MacBookPro (mid 2012) will not complete the boot process. Yosemite's progress widget gets about 1/3 to 1/2 way across when the logo disappears and the screen goes all white for 10-15 secs, then the machine shuts down and restarts. This sequence will repeat seemingly forever unless I shut it down manually.
I upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion a couple months ago, skipping Maverick completely, and I've done any associated updates that Apple told me about. I don't recall which version of Yosemite I have, but I'm sure it is the "latest and greatest".
I've tried re-starting in Safe Mode / Safe Boot and that does the same thing as described above except without the endless restarts. Instead of restarting at some point, SafeBoot proceeds to the white screen and then it hangs until I restart it manually. (I've waited as long os 20-30 minutes with no response).
When I tried the option-command-p-r key combo I never get any chimes or other noises besides the original 1 time boot sound that you would expect to get when starting up a macbook pro.
I was using the mac quite normally (meaning I was doing work I normally do on it and there was no indication of anything wrong) immediately prior to this happening.
The machine is BootCamp(ed) with Windows 8.1 which I use from a VMWare virtual machine instead of natively so that I can have both OSes running at the same time. I also think this is unrelated to my problem. I have been using this setup for more than 2 years.
My upgrade to Yosemite was uneventful and I thought it went well and was very smooth. I don't want to lead attention away from Yosemite, but at this point my problem does not seem related to the upgrade.
    Any help is appreciated.

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
