Manual PR need to control

Hi expert,
pls help me, is it possible that the Material planner field in PR can be controlled?
i understand that MRP controller field can be copied from material master, but in case of manually creation, we need the PR to be route for approval. SPRO setting for PR approval is not include the MRP controller in Material master. meaning the MRP controller for Manual PR is different (it represents the requestor of each dept).

Thanks for your immediate reply. The current set-up is this. but the MRP controller for Manual PR is different for MRP set in MM.
i set the MRP controller differently in manual PR so we can identify it by Dept.
Any idea how to check the PR creation setting in SPRO? whether it can be copied from MM or able to set not copy.

Need to control waterbath temp using labview via RS232

HI,
I am new to labview. I have labview 6.1. I need to control a thermo RTE7 water bath temp. controler using labview.
The water bath has to be connected to computer via RS232 port and the commands have to be given via binary values.
The users manual for the bath has "hex" bytes that are to be converted
to binary values to be passed to bath. If anyone has done this before

Use simply the recommandations given in the RTE manual. You don't have to convert to binary : that's something done by the hardware.
For instance, to send the temperature setpoint to the controler, you have to send a byte string such as
CA 00 01 F0 02 01 2C DD, where CA 00 01 is a header specific to the type of serial link you are using,
F0 is the set temperature command,
02 is the number of bytes expressing the temperature that you are about to send
01 0C is the temperature in tenths of degree (here : 30°C = 300 tenth = 010C$
DD is a check sum byte.
The corresponding labVIEW program is as follow :
Of course, do not forget to initialize the serial port before writing the string !

Need Volume Control API's for windows phone 8.1

Hi,
I'm developing a windows phone 8.1 app in which volume need to control. To do this I'm not getting API's to perform this operation, so can any one help to develop this app. if not please post some suggestions why this is not possible.

Volume control always needed by play some media stuff, could you please tell us why and where do you need the volume control.
Basically as I know if we play the sound by MediaElement, it has a
Volume property, or what kind of media play control are you using?
Indeed, there is no API that can directly control the system volume, only user can manage that.

JMS Content Conversion - Need to control RecordSet per Message

One way of doing this is to use either a ring or enum where the strings
presented to the user are "1", "10", or whatever you like. On the
diagram, the values will be 0, 1, 2, in a compact counting sequence.
Then do an array index into a constant. If this is done more than one
place, make the control a typedef so you can keep them consistent an
d
make the index be done in a subVI. Then whenever you need this, you
drop the control and the subVI, out comes the integer, float, or
whatever it is you want to index.

Is $10 off on second purchase possible with no manual work needed?

Is this possible in BC - New customer makes a purchase (or spends over a certain amount on first order) and they receive an email (or redirected to a page) that says you have just been rewarded with $10 off on your next purchase. This expires on ... and then the next time they log in/make a purchase the script says this is their second purchase so give them $10 off? Is that script possible to work in BC without it taking too long to write? I know you could do a manual discount code > client creates a new discount code and emails the customer directly with it. All discount codes will need to be different to stop them from using it again or passing it around so it expires after 1 redemption. We did have a promotion going that all new customers receive $10 off on first purchase and I guess this is the simple solution so no manual work needs to be done by the client but we're just looking for other ideas. $10 off on next purchase prompts them to buy again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers

(I'm DD too and its changed my name here strangely).
Best Idea - use the discount codes (Ecommerce - Discount Codes)
Then go into Site Manager - System Emails and update it manually every month (e.g simple text saying "order again before the end of August and receive a 10% / $10 discount by entering code ILOVEAUGUST" - then mid way through August do the same with September.. It is manual work though.
Second idea - we did an error on our website at the very beginning by assigning a few $15 products as a GIFT VOUCHER. We still sent out the products but they got a special user unique code emailed to them (unknown to us) for the same value ($15) as the product they bought. A few super smart customers then went on to do another order and used the code which gave them a $15 discount. Maybe if you were having a special promotion on an item e.g a $50 item bought would give them a $50 credit for their next purchase - then this would work.

I need to control flash button states within html

I am utilizing a flash header for navigation on a site built
in html. I need to control the button states in my flash header
from within my html page to facilitate breadcrumbs. The header
works in a similar manner to an expandable banner. The sub menu
expands over the html page. However, I cannot figure out how to get
the primary navigation buttons in the flash header to stay in the
"hit state" so that the user knows which section of the site they
are in.

You will want to use movieclips as buttons so that you can
control what state they are in by code.
As far as using the html to set the state, you could devise a
scheme using FlashVars, which get designated in the embedding code
of the html page.
Assuming you are not using frames, and the flash is reloaded
for each page that you navigate to, then you will have adjust the
FlashVars code to reflect the relevant page's button.

Need Help controlling the time my program stays connected to a network

Hi,
Every time I open a Thread to listen to client connections, ou to send data to a server, i need to control how long the other side takes to respond.
This is to fulfill two objectives:
1) if the client or the server takes to long to respond the connection is terminated.
2) if, for example, 30 seconds have passed, the server could send a packet with information that tells the client to wait a little more.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

control a Ransco temperature chamber with LabVIEW. The temperature chamber requires four BCD digits
plus a – /+ bit and some control lines. I have a piece of hardware attached to my PC
called LabJack. LabJack has 16 digital
input/outputs, 8 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs. What I would like to do is control the
temperature chamber with LabVIEW using the LabJack as an interface. Has anyone in the group done this or something
close to it before? Also has anyone used
LabVIEW to control a LabJack for any purpose?
I would be interested in looking at what you did and what drivers and VIs you used.

Try reading this thread. It might not be terribly helpful to your application, but it might answer some questions. Also look at the Labjack site to look for the LabVIEW VIs that they have written.

How did this happen? Did you use logon script to map drives or printers to users? If yes, did the computer have network connection to the domain controllers? You can ping the IP addresses of your domain controllers to check network connectivity.
Besides, you can check event logs in Event Viewer to see if some related events were logged.

ZIP Function - Need Additional Controls To Mitigate Occasional Looping

I have an extremely large volume of files that need to be individually ZIPed (in blocks of 200-400k files). While using the function below, sometimes the file does not get added to the ZIP file (initialized/created as part of 'new-object') and the
function gets stuck in an infinite loop checking for the pre-created ZIP file to grow in size greater than its initialized size of 24 bytes. All files I'm compressing are less than 200-300k in size and compress immediately. If the addition to the
ZIP file takes longer than 50ms, I see an error pop up once and then it moves onto the next file because the second check for file growth becomes true and the file add has successfully completed.
Personally I just would like to add a counter that checks to see how many times the while statement gets executed so that after 5-10 times, it re-issues the the command to add the file to the zipfile (which appears to resolve the issue when executed manually
from a seperate powershell window).
One option that came to mind was to wrap line for adding the file (into the ZIP file) into the while clause and then try to incorporate the counter in there. I just haven't tried it yet.
Any additional thoughts on how to accomplish the above modification (to the script below) would be appreciated as my biggest issue is the inability to re-create the problem at-will.

Thanks to all for the input.
If I understand JRV's first comment, it's in relation to using the 'CopyHere' method and the fact without auditing for file completion (i.e. if not exists clause), it was cumbersome to use and slowed down by needing to 'sleep' the script between checks for
existance to prevent excessive CPU utilization by the job along with it being an ASYNC call with no guarentee that your file would be compressed properly without the aforementioned compensating controls. My personal experience with this method is that
it seems to work, just not consistent when being called repeatedly (i.e. script compressing 200k files individually). We ended up with the script getting stuck in a loop once and a while if the file didn't get added to the pre-created ZIP file. This
was the leading reason why I continued to explore other methods as this inconsistency meant 'babysitting' our conversion process more.
I went with what I found (related to .NET Framework 4.5 ZIP functionality) as the implementation was very easy to just re-use and script against (which is effectively what Mike said to use).
The speed improvement in our case with leveraging the .NET Framework 4.5 ZIP functionality was welcomed as its performance is 4x that of using the less desirable 'CopyHere' method. Its synchronous nature of .NET 4.5 call also meant not putting
the script to sleep for 50ms at a time regardless if it was necesssary or not which I'm sure was also part of the boost in throughput.

Camera needs exposure controls - badly

I've scanned this forum and haven't seen any messages that are wondering where the iPhones exposure controls are.
As we all know, the iPhone does a great job of taking images when there is plenty of light on the subject. But if you shoot an environment with a contrasting backlight, the foreground subject is simply a silhouette.
It would be a very simple matter to increase exposure time to better illuminate foreground subjects in these sorts of scenarios. Yes, it MAY require the user to hold the phone extra steady while the shot is taken (or, if the sensor has ISO type controls, it could simply bump up the ISO which would increase noise in the shot but it would be sharp).
Apple - please give us a few manual override presets we can activate with a single touch when needed, or better still an exposure slider. It would increase the usefulness of the camera.

Interesting replies. Not what I expected, but thanks just the same. To address some of the replies, in no particular order:
- the purpose of the iPhone is to eliminate duplicity of gadgets. I just want the camera in the iPhone to work a wee bit better than it does now.
- the sensor inside the iPhone is capable of taking better pictures under something less than ideal conditions. If a simple exposure slider would fix this, I fail to see how this would be 'stupid'.
- I don't expect 'award winning' images from an iPhone. I would like to be able to see a persons face if taking the image where the light isn't concentrated on the subject. All of the dirt cheap and most basic point and shoot cameras do this. Its just software to control the sensors sensitivity.
- I'm a professional photographer, I have plenty of cameras. The iPhone could never be a substitute for any of them. But I do know the camera can do a better job, with a simple software tweak. Thats all I am asking for.
- I'm aware that this is a user to user forum, and I've already mentioned sending this to feedback. I said this in my initial post. But its clear that I'm in the minority on the desire for the camera to improve with a simple software update. No biggie.

Need to control Closure of Purchase Order on Creating GRPO or A/P Invoice

         I have created a single Purchase Order with multiple Line Items. This Purchase Order is to be executed every Much. We do not wish to give the Vendor a new Purchase Order Every month and want to use the first Purchase Order for reference purposes.
         Can I create a GRPO or a A/P Invoice for the Whole Purchase Order without closing the Purchase Order.
         So when my service is completed I can Close the Purchase Order Manually.
         My Purchase order is Item Type.

I am giving a PO to the vendor for 10 QTY (this 10 QTY is for every month). so every month I will do a GRPO / A/P Invoice for 10 QTY. BUT to the Vendor i need to send a PO of only 10 QTY (and not a PO for 10 QTY per month)
e.g. 1 Jan 2012 create PO with doc number 1 for One Item with 10 QTY (I print it and send it to the Vendor)
         on 31 Jan 2012 i create a A/P invoice against the PO (this will close my PO)
         Again on 29 Feb 2012 i wish to create a new A/P Invoice using the Same PO Doc number as my reference (I DO NOT wish to close my PO of Doc number 1)
          I dont want to create a new PO for Feb 2012. (Reason is i want as my references with my Vendor to flow on PO number 1 and if I create a new PO for month of FEB 2012 there is a possibility of the vendor being given one more PO which i dont want to happen)
         I want all subsequent A/P invoices to use my First PO as my Based Doc.

Hi ALL, I need to control the temperature of a furnace. The Thermocouple ouputs are available as RS-485. What Hardware and system configuration should I prefer?

I need to automate the control of a gas carburising furnace. The available signals are Thermocouple K-Type (4 nos., one each from the three zones and one from the geometrical center of the furnace) and Oxygen Analyser. That makes it a total of 5 signals, all available in RS-485 format, which I need to acquire (10 samples/second) and then initiate a control action as per the rule base. Reliability is a major issue and the system has to work in harsh conditions.
What hardware would suit my purpose? I would prefer NI hardware which can be programmed via VB or VC++. LabVIEW may be considered as the last option.

Hi Gurdas,
I can give you some ideas to start with:
- a cheap solution - a rs232/rs485 converter(http://www.rs485.com/pconverters.html) and do the code in VB [you have to do both communication and data management)
- a medium solution - a AT-485 or PCI-485 NI board (I think that you'll get some NI libraries to control it from VB/VC++) [just data]
- a better solution - a LabVIEW or Measurement Studio with a NI 485 card in order to avoid wasting time with too much programming
- a much better solution - LabVIEW/Measurement Studio with an ENET-485 NI card (of course, you'll need a network passing by your lab :-))
Regarding harsh conditions, I think that rs485 allows you to stay far enough.
