Manual sync of DAP / GP Config between ASA's?

Hi there,
We have multiple failover clusters that we would like to sync the DAP's/Group Policies/ACL's between.  I understand that there are 2 components that are combined for, say, a DAP -- the config lines, and the dap.xml.
What I would like to do is establish a standard procedure for replicating the policies across each cluster so that our VPN users have the same portal experience wherever they terminate -- obviously some things like that are unique to each cluster like IP's, routing, and crypto maps must stay the same so its not as easy as just doing an ASDM/CLI full backup and restore.
I have successfully done this a couple of times but mostly through trial and error, by using ASDM to export some information and then importing it manually, but I`d like to script this out so doing this via command line would be key.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for any help!
-Chris

I guess I will post what we are doing so far:
Use a common prefix for all of your DAP-related ACL's -- so for us we use DAP_ like so:
access-list DAP_URL_ORACLE_SHTERM webtype permit url html://:8080 log default
Grab all of your CLI that relates to "dynamic-access-policy-record" + your DAP acl's.
Then, use the ASDM to backup the DAP and bookmarks only.
We then import the CLI config (ACL + the dynamic-access-policy-record) and restore the ASDM backup, in that order.  We chose not to sync Group Policies, Tunnel / Connection profiles anbd the rest because they differ from gateway to gateway -- but at least this helps to provide a somewhat similar experience for the end users.  You may want to think about syncing customizations and such as well.

  • Sync config between active and standby CSM

Is there a way to sync config between active and standby CSMs? Just as one that in CSS.
How about two SSL Service module in two different 6500 chassis?
    Thanks.

    HI,
there is right now no command to commit redundancy between two CSM-Modules. Maybe in the future there will be one. Okay in regards of sync the only way is to check for redundancy is the show mod csm x ft command. But be aware that some slight differences like a real not being in service are sometimes not recognized.
In regards of the SSLModule there is no way as far as I know to sync them. This won't be present in the future in my opinion as there are certificates which require a password or something like that and one won't be able to do redundncy without those passwords. So In my opinion no way to sync two SSL-Module because of security issues.
    Kind regards,

  • I have downloaded audiobooks.  Manually synced my iphone, and they appear to be on the device when viewing on itunes.  But the ipod App on the phone is empty..

Hi, I am going crazy with frustration.  THis is the first time I have tried to download podcasts to my (partner's) iphone.
I have downloaded the latest itunes software.
Having gone round and round in circles I'm fairly confused over what happened when.  But I got scared when I tried to Apply settings and kept being told that this would Erase and Sync.  ERASE?   Was also told that I wasn't connecting to the correct library, which baffled me.  How did I end up with 2 libraries?  Isn't Apple supposed to simplify this stuff?  Was told that clicking Apply would mean files not downloaded to the Mac would be deleted.  ***?
I got scared by all these messages and so paid £20 for an app that allows me to transfer files from the iphone to the Mac, because I seemed to be in danger of losing precious photographs.   I actuallly own an Android phone, and all I have to do is connect it to my windows laptop and it behaves like any other storage device, allowing me to copy files back and forth.   But this is not possible with the iphone.  It's a closed device.  Hence the need for software to allow this simple procedure.
Anyway, enough griping.  Sorry I can't be more specific as to how I arrived at this problem.  But the problem IS:
I chose to manually sync files between Mac and iphone.  Selected all the audiobook chapters I wanted to sync.  Pressed sync.  Sync occurred.  According to itunes, the audiobook files are sitting on the iphone.   According to the iphone (looking via ipod App), THE CUPBOARD IS BARE.   No files have been synced from itunes to iphone.
I have found a lot of people have this problem, on other forums.  But there are no definitive answers.  Just confusion and frustration.   I would be SO grateful if someone could give me idiot-proof advice on how to deal with this.  My partner is counting on me to sort this out, as he desperately needs audiobooks on his iphone so he can decompress from work stress and do some exercise!   As the barely technical-literate one, it's down to me to fix this!
Here's hoping.   If none of this makes any sense, please do ask for more detail, and I will happily respond.
    Lisa

You got the new iphone?????   I have same problem.  I transferred audiobooks to device to find no audiobooks on device (despite it being in iTunes as if it was).  Have you found a solution?????   I even tried to change import settings on format transfer but hasn't worked.

  • Transfer Config between Different Boxes

    Hi,
We need to transfer complete configuration from one SAP Client (Development client) to another and both the clients are in different boxes (Server) in order to bring configuration in both the boxes in sync.
Kindly suggest the best practice and the process to be followed.
    Regards,
    Ghanapriya

We can transfer config between systems by migrating table data. We need to identify all tables to be migrated to other systems and upload them in destination system. Basis team will be the best contact to migrate standard tables data.
    Thanks.

  • Can I manually sync new contacts & calendar items: laptop - over the air?

Sometimes I enter a new contact or calendar item on my laptop and dash out the door hoping it shows up on my phone. Often it's not there. Is there a way to manually push an over-the-air sync between my laptop and iPhone?

Apple recently updated the sync time interval between the Address Book and iCal on your Mac and the MM cloud to be faster than every 15 minutes.
After entering a new contact and/or calendar event in the Address Book and iCal on your Mac, you can select Sync Now.
Go to System Preferences > MobileMe.
Under the Sync tab for your MM sync preferences, select show status in menu bar.
After entering a new contact or calendar event, if you don't want to wait select Sync Now from the sync status in the menu bar. This will manually sync the Address Book and iCal on your Mac with your MM online address book and calendars, which should push the change to your iPhone's address book and calendar.

  • Play counts doubling when I manually sync

Over the past week, my play counts have been going up by 2's instead of by 1's. Every time I play a song on my IPhone 5S and manually sync with ITunes, ITunes shows the number of plays has increased by 2. Has any one else experienced this?
The onlychange I've made recently is upgrading ITunes: I sync with 2 computers and keep my library and my Media on an accessory hard drive that I shuttle back and forth between both computers. One computer runs 11.3.0, the other runs 11.3.1 - could this discrepancy be related to the problem? My IPhone is running 7.1.2

  • Transfer files between ASA and a host across a VPN

    Hello Guys,
I have a Remote Access VPN between an ASA and a Windows PC, the issue that I'm seeing is that I can't transfer files between the ASA and my PC across the VPN.
The first time I thought that because the size of the file and some issue with my ADSL service bandwidth could be the problem. However, I tried to copy the running config of the ASA to my PC and is also impossible. I received this error:
    ASA# copy running-config tftp:
    Source filename [running-config]?
Address or name of remote host []? 10.10.10.2   ----> This is the address of my PC over the VPN tunnel
    Destination filename [running-config]? ASA-Config04032014
    Cryptochecksum: f5a9f8cb 9f63b2e5 e8c99e36 9498cb50
%Error writing tftp://10.10.10.2/ASA-Config04032014 (Timed out attempting to connect)
Does anybody had this kind of problem before?
    Thanks in advance,

I was wondering if I transfer files between a PC and Mac via Ethernet cable can I reverse the transfer from a Mac to a Pc?
Yes. Start Windows File Sharing on the Mac and then access it on the PC.

  • IPSec ikev2 between ASA and Cisco Router

    Hi,
i try to do IPSec with ikev2 (SHA2) between ASA and Cisco Router, without success. Any one can help me ?
    - Remote site (Router) with dynamic public IP -> Dynamic crypto map on the ASA
    - Authentication with Certificats
    - integrity sha2
I try a lot of configurations without success.
    Thanks for your help.
    Mic

The more secure ike policy should have the higher priority which is a smaller number. So I would configure there the following way (policy 30 only if really needed):
    crypto ikev1 policy 10
    authentication pre-share
    encryption aes-256
    hash sha
    group 5
    lifetime 28800
    crypto ikev1 policy 20
    authentication pre-share
    encryption aes-256
    hash sha
    group 2
    lifetime 28800
    crypto ikev1 policy 30
    authentication pre-share
    encryption aes
    hash sha
    group 2
    lifetime 43200
The Cisco VPN Client is EOL and not supported any longer. And yes, by default DH group 2 is used. But that can be configured by a parameter in the PCF-file.
There are two (three) better options:
Best option with very little needed configuration:
Move to AnyConnect with TLS. AnyConnect is the actual Cisco client that is also supported with Windows 8.x. The legacy IPsec client isn't.
Best option with a little stronger crypto but more configuration:
    Move to AnyConnect with IPsec/IKEv2.
Move to a third-party client like shrew.net. I didn't use that client since a couple of years any more, but it's quite flexible and also has a config for a better DH-group.
For option 1) and 2) there is an extra license needed, but thats not very expensive.

  • Tutorials on manual syncing

    Hi,
I bought an iPad as a gift for an elderly relative who does not have a computer.
I have a MacBook Pro. I do not want to sync my Macbook to the iPad, but I do want to put media and apps onto the Ipad from my Macbook.
My basic question is - Can all media be manually synced to the Ipad, including photos ? I have scoured the internet and have not found anything on manually syncing photos from a Mac to an iPad.
Can I just Drag and Drop photo albums, videos and song playlists to the iPad without wedding my MacBook to the iPad?
There are videos I want to put on the iPad that I do not want to keep in my iTunes. If I sync my iTunes to the iPad, then I will always have to keep everything I put on the iPad in my iTunes - is that not correct? Or else when I do a new sync, if I have removed a video I had previously uploaded to the iPad from iTunes - then that video will not show up on the iPad after the new sync.
Thanks. I am looking for any tutorials ( I can't even find manual sync YouTube videos ) or any help you can provide.
    Much thanks

    kirisilvermane wrote:
tal1971 is right about apps being on several devices as long as its the same itunes account. if you buy an app for your iphone and then dl it for your ipad then the device will tell you its been purchased before and will simply allow you to download it to the new device.
in order to do that though your relatives ipad will need to be set up with your account info. which "might" effect the multiple library options??
i think your best bet will be the xilisoft or similar software...your only limit will be the apps
I have multiple libraries on my computer because I found it the simplest way to have my iPhone and my girlfriend's iPod Classic set up separately so that syncing one or the other would not mess up the respective iTunes library, all the other ways around this problem seemed long winded compared to just creating a separate iTunes library.
All the music on the iPhone and the iPod were put on off of CD's, but when I choose the library for either the iPhone or the iPod, I see the same username for the iTunes account/store at the top right of the screen, however, between the two devices I have only ever purchased things for the iPhone.
I am shortly going to be getting an iPad and will create a new library for this. I asked a question about having the same apps on the iPad has I do on the iPhone and this is the reply back I got.
'Hook up the iPhone to the newly created iTunes Library and transfer purchases to the new Library. Put those apps and items on the iPad and go to App store and check for updates, some apps will automatically update to the iPad version. Apps that do not update automatically to the iPad version will need to be manually downloaded if there is a iPad version. If you download the iPad version of the app, the iPhone version of that app you'll need to un-check in the Apps section of iTunes before syncing next time or you will have two versions of the same app on the iPad, i.e. one been the iPhone version and the other been the iPad version'.
Not sure if this will clarify the:
'your relatives ipad will need to be set up with your account info. which "might" effect the multiple library options'

  • Manually Sync iPhone with iCloud & Devices

I am manually Syncing iCal my Mac with iCal on iCloud. Can I manually sync my iPhone iCal with iCloud iCal.
I have stopped syncing at the moment because the iPhone battery was running out in a few hours and the phone was running hot and syncing just wasn't working. After 5 minutes of tunring off iCal/iCloud syncing my iPhone cooled down. Afer one hour the battery charge has sayed the same.

With the exception of photo stream, iCloud doesn't sync your apps or photos between devices. You will continue to sync this content via iTunes in the same way as you do now.
Photo stream allows you to sync your most recent photos between all devices, you have the option to use photostream or not.

  • New iPod Touch 32gb stalls after starting sync, error 54, manual synce gets dumped

I just got this thing at Walmart last Sunday and its been driving me nuts all week! It's the brand new iPod Touch 32gb 4gen. When trying to sync it will start to load music then stall. Sometimes it gives error code 54, sometimes says it cant convert song, cant find song, or just stalls. If I wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour it will finally un-freeze and dump everything or say the connection has timed out. I've ran repair on iTunes from control panel, no help. Un-installed iTunes and re-installed it then tried synce, no help. I un-selected everything in the iPod summary so that it wont try to synce when I connect it and selected manual synce. Then I could sync a few songs at a time, but it still stalls after only loading a few songs on iPod. Tried dumping everything out of the ipod and start over, several times, no help. I've been 6 days, all day, every day, and half the nights getting a few songs at a time on this dam thing. I found when it stalls if I turn the iPod off to force it out of iTunes I can then restart iTunes, reconnect the iPod, manually select 15 to 20 songs and drag them to the iPod. A few times I got over a hundred to sync but usually 20 to 30 songs then it stalls. Then I have to do the whole thing over again. I had a little over 1200 songs out of the 1877 songs, 11.28gb, in my music library when the last time it stalled, it dumped everything. 4 or 5 days of manually syncing a few songs at a time, GONE. Just poof, all that work for nothing. The only thing left on it is 92 of the hundred something songs I've bought from iTunes. I'm ready to take a hammer to the dam thing and send it back to Walmart where I got it.
I'm using a Dell Studio 17 inch laptop that's about 4 yrs old running Windows 7 that I installed 2 years ago. I had a iPod nano 2gb that worked fine with this computer & iTunes untill it died last spring.
Why do you have it set up so that one little hickup and the dam thing dumps everything thats on it? I cant even stop it from starting to sync when I connect it because I need to see the settings in the summary for the iPod to change the settings, but I cant see that until I connect it, but as soon as I connect it, it try's to start the sync and stalls feezing everything.
Can anybody help me before this thing drives me completely over the edge!?
    The ColoradoHermit

I have a older Dell Optiplex desktop computer running Windows XP. I copied the iTunes  folder on my laptop to an external drive and plugged that into my desktop computer. Then connected the iPod Touch to the desktop. For some reason or other the computer thought the iPod was a camera and wanted to know which photo program to open with or for it. I never did get iTunes on my desktop computer to "see" the iPod and had to give up that idea.
When going into the My Computer or Windows Explorer - which is the one I like to use for working with my files-  when I connect the iPod to my computer in Windows Explorer it will show the iPod. Open that and it shows Internal Storage, open that and a folder with DCIM shows below it, open that and a folder with 860OKMZO on it shows below that, open that and it has the 40 or 50 photos I saved from Facebook. That's it, there isn't anything else shown in its storage. The iTunes on my old Desktop doesn't see the iPod Touch either.
Even if the iTunes on my old desktop would work with this iPod Touch it wouldn't do me any good. I read in a post that once it is connected to a iTunes Library, if its connected to any other iTunes Library on a different computer it will dump everything that's on it. Which is totally stupid but I think they - iTunes - have it that way so that you cant share your music with somebody elses computer. But that also makes it so I cant manually sync one thing at a time with my own iTunes Library. I tried syncing my music first and after I got some of it on the iPod, in its summary I deselected the music sync and selected the movies or video's so I could manually synce a few to it to see if it would work. Bad move. As soon as I did that it dumped everything that was on it, then said that it could not sync the movies because the files could not be written. HUH? Why a video from YouTube could not be written beats me. But why did it dump all the music?
The last thing I did with it was put all the options in the summary in iTunes back to default, removed everything on the iPod that was left after its last dump, then disconnected it, closed iTunes, and rebooted my laptop and started over from scratch. Started iTunes, connected the iPod, after iTunes found it I opened the iPod summary, made sure everything except sync photo's was selected, then started the sync function. It immediately listed all the songs and the songs info in light gray under music on the iPod. It only got 2 songs copied, then stalled. I just left it alone to see what it would do. I opened the Windows Task Manager to see what it was doing. Even though the iTunes program appered to be stalled it was using 50% of the CPU. After about 15 minutes it showed a popup window saying the song could not be writen then another saying its connection to the iPod had timed out, then iTunes stalled and "not responding" showed in task manager and at the top of the iTunes window. After 30 minutes I had to force it to close with the Task Manager. By then it was after midnight and had been another 12 hours wasted messing with this thing.

  • IPod Classic no longer showing folders unless I manually sync

I have had my iPod Classic for years, and am connecting it to my MacPro running 10.8.3 and iTunes 11.0.3. Have not had any problems with it until recently. I keep some of my playlists in folders, and have always only synced some of them (I have way too much in my library to sync everything). All the sudden in the last week my playlists in folders stopped showing up on my iPod. The folder shows up, but it is empty. My only solution has been to switch to manual syncing, and then the folder shows up and all the files within it (and they are already there). I have tried reformatting my iPod and resyncing, but the same problem occurs, and I have to revert to manual syncing, which is really bad when you can't break it off into it's own window.
Anyone have any ideas? this is really frustrating!

Any one else having this problem?
The only solution is o manually sync (which ***** now that you can't open multiple itunes windows) or to remove playlists from folders and they sync fine with my iPod. This only started happening recently so it must be some change in iTunes wity iPod classics.

  • How do you get voice memos from iphone onto itunes with MANUAL sync?

Ok, the iphone voice record function... I can't get the voice memos onto itunes or my computer. I don't use the autosync function, I like to manage my music and such manually.
I cannot find a way to manually access the voice memos on my iphone through itunes. Many of them are too large to email so I'm stuck.
The only option seems to be auto-sync, and if I do turn on the sync function at this point, itunes will completely erase my iphone and the voice memos I've recorded on it. Kind of defeats the purpose.
    Any tips?
I've looked at a lot of posts and haven't found anything to help here. Just a bunch of posts complaining about how bad the voice recorder feature is integrated into the new iphone 3.0 software.
    i'm using a 32gb 3gs.

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I'm not quite sure if there is a solution to this.
I have the same desire as OP, but yet I do not see my voice memos automatically syncing when I have manual sync selected. I also do not see a playlist folder or anything that indicates voice memos have transferred. Am I missing something? Is there no way to get voice memos onto the computer without having to autosync it?
If someone can provide more details on how to do this, that'd be great. But it seems at this point that I cannot get voice memos onto my computer through iTunes with manual sync on.
