Manual Two-Sided printing Officejet 6110

I have Windows Vista and when I try to manually print two sided, all pages are printed at once (evens then odds) despite the "click here once you've switched the pages" dialog box. It used to work fine when I had Windows XP.

HP e-mail support, Ticket no: 8028153835
I purchased my HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer in 2005. It was previously installed on a HP Laptop, Windows XP, and all the features worked.
It is now on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32. When I tried installing the printer software CD, it wouldn't load because of the Vista OS. I then loaded the HP Photosmart 2600 series full feature printer driver (Vista OS compatible) from the following HP website link:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-47754-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
Now I cannot get the Printing Preferences to allow Manually Duplexing (two-sided) printing. This option was available on the original printer software.
I've tried the solutions on: HP Image Zone Help / Two-Sided Prints which indicate:  Click the Finishing tab / In the Document options area / select the Print on both sides check box (this box is not available).
When I run the printer from the Control Panel as Administrator, the printer Properties / Device Settings show Manual Duplexing: Enabled.  When I go to the printer Properties / Advanced / Printing Defaults, neither the Finishing / Print On Both Sides check box is available nor will the Printing Shortcuts tabs allow the Print On Both Sides option to appear (only shows Print On Both Sides: Off).
HP e-mail support told me to install this patch to correct the problem:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-69848-1&cc=us&lc=en&...
When I try installing the patch, it won't load because it wants the original CD software. So I'm back to my initial problem of trying to load the original printer software that won't load because the CD is for Windows XP OS. I am at an impasse between the Software CD that I have, and what is available on the HP website.
    What is your solution?

Also, if it were, do you download the driver?
The driver is supplied through Windows Update.  Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, then select Windows Update.  It will take a few minutes to update the list, then the Deskjet 6500 series will be a choice under HP (not Hewlett-Packard).

  • Is there a way to do manual two sided printing on the Officejet 6500?

I am unable find duplex printing for the 6500. Has this option been removed? Do i have to buy the auto duplexer to do this basic function?

Hi - Unfortunately, it does not support manual duplexing.  I checked the User Guide and it does state that manual duplexing is not supported with the driver.  The only other thing I can think of to try, is if you're using the driver that came with the printer, check and see if there is a driver in the Windows OS (Control Panel, Printers, Add Printer) you're using and install it to see if it provides that option.
    Hope that helps.

  • HP L7760 two-sided printing not working

I have an HP Officejet Pro L7760 which does two-sided printing, or it did until I upgraded from 10.5.2 to 10.5.5. I have reset the printer system, downloaded & installed the latest printer software from HP. I called HP. I called Apple.
I see the Apple website says the latest HP printer driver is 1.1.1. When I bring up Print & Fax, it says my printer driver is 2.3.1.
Does anyone know how to get back the two sided printing? Which driver version is correct? Any thing I can try?

I have an HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-in-One with the latest HP driver that displays the two-sided printing option greyed-out in the Layout window. According to HP, your printer must be capable of accepting an optional two-sided printer tray to work on a Mac. To me that is ludicrous since in Windows the driver supports manual two-sided printing.
To get around this, I select the Paper Handling window and from the Pages to Print drop-down list select Odd only instead of the default All Pages. After clicking the print button the odd pages print starting with the last page and ending with the first. I then remove all paper and reinsert the printed pages with the top of the page facing the printer. First, though, I reorder the pages with the first page on the bottom and the last page on top. If the total number of pages is an odd number, I remove the last page from the inserted stack, as that is the very last printed page. I then select Even only from the Pages to Print drop-down list and click print again.
    Problem solved.

  • HP LaserJet P1005 Two-sided printing not working on network

    Good day!
I have a desktop, with Windowx XP, to which my LaserJet P1005 is connected via USB. My wife has a laptop, with the same Windows XP, from which she can print, but the two-sided option does not work right. She can check it and print, but the window to restart printing for the second side does not open and there is nothing we can do at this point.
I have trie duninstalling the printer from both computers and reinstalling the newest drivers, it still won't work.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Two sided printing from a Macbook Air

I switched from a Thinkpad to a Macbook and got a new HP laserjet 1102 wireless printer (because my old one that I used with my Thinkpad died).  I cannot figure out how to get set up to print 2-sided.  It was so easy on the Thinkpad.  Help!

    Hi,
Follow the steps below to print a manual two-sided print jobs:
From the file used to print click the File menu and select Print.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Press on Show Details to show any available print option.
Click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Select Manual Duplex and set the optios accordingly.
If you are not being prompt to reload the page place the printed pages faced down in the inpuf tray, then open and close the top cartridge access door to resume the print job and complete the other side.

  • Manual double sided printing in Pages

I'm VERY new to Pages and have created my first document. I don't really know if this is a Pages question or a printer issue. When I choose print for my document, it automatically prints all pages. How do I set things up so only one page prints at a time? I want to do manual two-sided printing on an HP Photosmart 2400 series. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The print dialog box is pretty uniform throughout OSX.
To do manual two sided printing look in the print dialog box for the options to print only odds or evens and experiment which direction you need to turn and stack your paper so that it comes out in the end, two sided and in the right order.

  • Two sided printing in Windows 7

I have a duplex printer.  Previously (Windows XP), I could set the default on my printer to print double automatically by right-clicking on my printer icon in Printers & Faxes, clicking Properties then clicking Printing Preferences, then selecting from the drop-down in "Print on both sides:"  Now, I can't find that and have no idea how to change my printer to default automatic double sided printing.  I found how to set it to default to manual two-sided printing (undesirable), but that can't be the only option???

Sometimes Windows include the driver for your device, but it's a generic driver that might not give you all the features of the printer. I forgot to ask if you use Windows 7 x64 of x86, but you can choose the OS from the list using the link below and you should find the drivers from HP for your printer.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3673587...»
You also have a auto detect button using the link below that should be able to detect you printer and find the correct driver.
    http://www.hp.com/#Support
You might give it a try with the driver from HP and see if duplex printing works better. Please post back and let us know if this solved the problem or not.

  • Two-sided printing 6110

I have a 6110 and would like to print long documents double sided.  I don't have the attachment.  Is there a way that I can print odd pages then insert the sheets and print even sides on the back?  Couldn't find info in the manual.
    Thanks

Found the answer to my own question:  For the Canon Copier/Printer, "Fiery" driver determines two-sided printing, among other things.  When the print dialog box is open, tick the button that reads "layout" and this should be a drop down window that exposes "Fiery" and that selected will offer the option to print two-sided.  See ScreenShot below:

  • Two sided printing HP Officejet 4630

How to use the two sided printing with the HP Officejst 4630. I see how to use two sided copy.

    Hi,
It has a duplexer that means you can print both sides automatically. Please try (from page #10 of its manual):
To print on both sides of the page
    1. On the File menu in your software, click Print.
    2. Make sure your printer is selected.
    3. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.
Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer Properties, Printer, or Preferences.
    4. Select the appropriate options.
        ● On the Paper/Quality tab, select the appropriate paper type from the Media drop-down list in the Tray Selection area, and then select the appropriate print quality in the Quality Settings area.
        ● Click the Advanced button, in the Paper/Output area, select the appropriate paper size from the Paper Size drop-down list.
    5. On the Layout tab, select Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge from the Print on Both Sides drop-down list.
    6. Click OK to print.
    Regards.

Hello! I'm writing from Italy (there isn't an official forum in my language) I'm having the same problem but I can't solve because the links you osted before now works only for windows 7 or 8 but I still have XP... what can I do?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Enrica76,
    Thank you for your response.
When you insert the printed sheets into the printer, the steps in the How-To document have you restarting the print job from the computer. Just to make sure I’m understanding your post correctly, are you indicating that you restart the job from the computer and then nothing happens?
    Thank you.

  • Two-sided printing option greyed-out HP OfficeJet 7500a

    Hi,
Could anyone help me? I just bought a HP OfficeJet 7500a (which does support duplex printing) and I am unable to do two-sided printing as the dropdown menu (located in layout in the print screen) is greyed-out.
Do I require a driver or anything like that?
By the way I am running Mountain Lion Developer Preview if that matters.
    Thanks in advance.

  • HP OfficeJet j6480, Duplex (Two-sided) printing, adobe, and "default"

I've been through many of the duplex printing posts, and can't find an answer that works.
    The system:
A MacBook Pro running 10.5.6 with the latest HP printer drivers (1.1.1 as per
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/HPPrinter_Driver_1_11 )
A HP OfficeJet j6480 connected over the wireless network (or via USB, it doesn't
    seem to matter).
    The problem:
    1. Duplex printing from MS Word only works if I click the "Two-Sided Printing"
option in the print dialog +every time+ I print: saving the print setup
configuration doesn't retain the two-sided setting. But at least duplex
printing works in Word -- if somewhat awkwardly.
    2. In all programs with a print dialog box, the "two-sided printing" choice
selector in the [Layout] panel is greyed out.
    3. In Acrobat Reader and in Firefox, two sided printing just doesn't work
at all. No matter what the settings.
I've tried the hpijs drivers as well -- the 3.9.2 version did no good at all.
    (From http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs#More_Info .)
HP support was a little less than useless -- not only did they not solve
the problem, they made me late for dinner. sigh.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7590 and two-sided printing

Anyone been able to implement 2 sided printing with this printer. Seems like HP driver is broken, even though print setup allows one to check two-sided printing.

This may help in regards to this two sided issue. I did have some orientation problems on landscape mode but was able to print two sided. After hours of working between HP and Apple etc. I in theory figured out something that proved to work. HP's web driver page warns of not trying to use 10.5 drivers and programs on Snow Leopard. My theory was that in the upgrade process to 10.6 could there be some problems in the process of changing out the drivers and programs, (some programs are even said not to work at all by HP in S.L.). So I did a complete uninstall of all HP printer programs, software and drivers and then reinstalled the printer fresh in Snow Leopard. Wonder of wonders now the two sided printing works properly and the needed adjustments are all back. In a few different places but they are there and they do work. So maybe the problem exists in the upgrade process? I did not have the problems at all in 10.5 but after the upgrade everything changed. Now that it is more like a fresh install in SL all seem to work. The only thing I have not done yet is use the scanner process which HP admits is very different but they do give instructions about it on the driver download page. Hope this helps someone else.
