  • Manual Uninstall of Java 1.4.2

    A user installed Java 1.4.2 from disk, now we can't uninstall it (tries looking for files on the D drive)
    Anyway, does anyone have a step-by-step on how to manually uninstall 1.4.2 and delete reg keys??
    Thanks!

    not as simple as deleting the folder, I'm afraid. The forums are awash with problems from people who do such things and then can't install any JDK subsequently... Also, 1.5 was never going to overwrite 1.4.x as you might want to have multiple versions of the JDK on your machine for deployment compatibility...
    Have a search in these forums to see how people have solved this problem before.

  • Manual uninstall of Identity Synchronization for Windows 2004Q3

    Hello Everyone,
    When I first tried to uninstall Identity Synchronization I received a message at the end telling me to manully remove the products from the product registry. They said to look at the documentation for instructions on how to handle the manual removal.
    However, I can't find anything in the documentation about this. The closes I found was removing version 1.0 of identity sync. I tried that but it didn't work.
    Does anyone have any instructions or at least some tips?
    I have tried a few things and might have done more damage. I am hoping that if I can manually remove everything then I will be able to reinstall successfully.
    Thanks you.

    Thank you for the response.
    I have tried removing the parts of the productregistry file that are associated with the Identity Snychronization server. When I run the installer again, I get a message that it was already installed and this will be a reinstall.
    I always get error messages that .jar files are missing.
    It doesn't seem to be moving all of the .jar files into the lib directory. I have moved all the .jar files in the install directory into the lib directory but the installer still fails looking for the connector.jar file. I looked for it but can't find that file any where.
    I was hoping that a full uninstall would allow the installer to work the way it was supposed to.
    I have not tried removing the whole product registry file because I do have the Directory Server installed on this server and the info from that is in the product registry.

  • How to manually uninstall Java EE SDK on windows?

    Hear about the new Java EE SDK, I uninstall previous installation and try the new one. When I install the new one, fellow error comes out.

    Check your PATH environment variable - if there are any garbage entries appended to it, clean up and retry SDK installation.

  • Java JRE Manual Uninstall???

    Java 1.6u7 was installed on my Windows XP machine, but became corrupted. I downloaded the new JRE 1.6u10 (slim vers.) and attempted to install. The install program informed me JRE was already installed, would I like to reinstall? When I click "yes" then I get a message, that that option is only available for installed programs...then the install program loops, asking again if I would like to reinstall...then quits. Same result exactly with the Full install (15mb) version. No matter what I do, I get the same loopy message..."That program is installed [no it is not, anymore] Do you want to reinstall?" [yes] "Operation is only available for installed programs" Loop, loop (twice).
    I've spent a lot of time searching for any help on a manual uninstall of Java through google, all to no avail. No one seems to have a definitive method to MANUALLY fully remove the old Java, in order to successfully install the new.
    YES, I've uninstalled it through Add/Remove.
    YES, I've tried the control panel Java link (it's now gone)
    YES I've used the Windows Install cleanup utility (Java is no longer there).
    YES I've used regedit and eliminated everything with "Java" in it. Yes, I've repeatedly searched both filenames, and within files and deleted files with JAVA in them. Yet EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to install, the very same loopy message appears, not allowing me to install.
    All I'd like to do, is to successfully do a new install--yet the install program will not allow it.

    I am the author of the original plea, SIMPLY LOOKING for a MANUAL UNINSTALL procedure for a corrupted Java JRE install. (Sun's system somehow won't allow me to login under my origianal registration, so here I am again.)
    Please NOTE: YES, I have already used the Windows install clean-up utility (several times), as described in the original post. Sun and Java products are not found by the Windows install clean-up utility.
    The installer is the problem....it will not install, unless Java is uninstalled first, and the uninstall won't work unless it is installed. Loop, loop, loop....
    I HAVE CORRUPTED INSTALL FILES SOMEWHERE, AND NO STANDARD/FAQ AUTOMATED METHOD WORKS.

  • How to manually uninstall j2re ?

    hi all,
    i have problems with j2re 1.4.0 installation and i would really appreciate any help.
    here's my problem : i first installed j2re 1.4.0_02 and then j2re 1.4.1, without uninstalling the first version. so, i had two plug-ins running on my pc.
    i decided to uninstall both and reinstall 1.4.0.
    after uninstalling both jre, i tried to launch the installation program but it doesn't seem to work (actually it doesn't stop, when trying to install the plug-in).
    i suppose that the unistall process didn't work properly, so now i would like to uninstall jre manually before trying to install it again (i deleted manually the j2re directory, but it's not enough of course).
    so, please help me because now i don't have any jre (and no plug-ins also)
    thank you in advance

    hi all,
    to anyone may have a problem similar to mine, here is how I solved it. follow the instruction and remember to exit any browser active task before launching the installation program.
    for jre1.4..0_02 i found the correct registry key to delete is
    {082F1B07-797C-11D6-9CFB-00010240CE95}
    enjoy
    You may need to manually uninstall the J2SE 1.4.0_01 JRE. To do so, follow these steps:
    Go to Control Panel; select Java Plug-in. Click on the Browsers tab. Uncheck both IE and Netscape6.
    Remove the directory in which you placed the J2SE JRE. For example, remove C:/Program Files/Java/j2re1.4.0_01.
    Remove the following files from the Microsoft Windows System Directory:
    plugincpl140_01.cpl
    java.exe
    javaw.exe
    On Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP:
    C:/winnt/system32
    On Microsoft Windows 98 and ME:
    C:/windows
    Remove the following Registry Keys:
    HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE/software/Javasoft/Java Runtime Environment/1.4.0_01
    HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall/7C F31609-270B-11D6-9445-000102308676

  • Manual uninstall of JRE..can't update either

    I have jre1.5.0.03 installed, and wanted to upgrade to .04
    I wanted to uninstall .03 first, but the uninstaller said "K is not a valid unit", and exit with an irreversible error. K is the unit where the installation file was (the exe I downloaded from sun site)..but that disk broke, so K does not exist anymore.
    I tried to upgrade without uninstalling..same error.
    I also tried creating a virtual unit, naming it K..but this time the error was "Documenti is not a valid short file name"..
    So I can't uninstall..I can't upgrade..Can you help me with a manual uninstall, so that I can then upgrade?
    Thanks a lot!

    There isn't an "official" manual uninstall that I'm aware of. That said, the locations of the Java installables and Registry entries are identified in the following documents for the 1.5 version.
    Java Installation Instructions, in Private vs. public JRE, which is the 3rd paragraph from the bottom.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/install-windows.html
    and
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/install-windows-diskspace.html
    By manually removing the stuff mentioned, Java should be removed.
    HOWEVER, the Windows Installer files (xxxx.msi) associated with Java may need to be cleaned (in Windows/system32 in XP), and Java references may need to be removed from the browser (open Tools | Intternet Options | Advanced and check the list.)
    To check if more references remain that need removal, run a search of the computer for "java" and "sun" and review the results.

  • Uninstalling JDK 1.4 from Windows

    Is there a manual way to uninstall JDK 1.4 from Windows 2000. I can't uninstall it from the add/remove programs. If I try to do that nothing happens.
    JDK 1.4 has been causing me some problems with applications running on my machine.

    Delete the folders where jdk is installed and then go to the Registry and in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\JavaSoft delete all keys related to version 1.4. Also don't forget to update the version number in the keys Java Development Kit and Java Runtime Environment.

  • Uninstalling only Java stack

    Hi,
    We have ABAP + Java stack on our PRD system.  Can we uninstall only Java stack without disturbing the ABAP stack ?
    Please suggest the procedure to perform this and also the post steps to be done if any.
    Windows 2003 IA64+ ECC6.0 + Oracle 10.2

    Hi
    In principle, waht the UNINSTALL does is:
    1. delete the relevant data from DB
    2. delete the relevant files/folders from File System.
    So if you do want to remove the Java add-in instance, you can do this manually even it is NOT recommended, main steps:
    1. delete the Java DB schema, should be SAPDB<SID>
    2. adjust the profiles to remove all the java stack relevant settings.
    3. remove the j2ee and SDM folder from file system.
    Probaly you want to uninstall the Java stack as you don't need and, by uninstallig it, the abap performance might be better,
    but to achieve this, you just need to set the rdisp/j2ee_start to 0, or just comment out all the parameters used by the java stack
    in the instance profile, and this applies to all the platform, not matter Windows or Unix.
    Here is an example of the profile parameters in <SID>_DVEBMGSXX_<hostname>
    exe/j2ee = $(DIR_INSTANCE)/j2ee/os_libs/jcontrol
    rdisp/j2ee_start_control = 1
    rdisp/j2ee_start = 1
    rdisp/j2ee_timeout = 600
    rdisp/frfc_fallback = on
    icm/HTTP/j2ee_0 = PREFIX=/,HOST=localhost,CONN=0-500,PORT=50000
    jstartup/trimming_properties = off
    jstartup/protocol = on
    exe/jlaunch = $(DIR_INSTANCE)/j2ee/os_libs/jlaunch
    jstartup/vm/home = /usr/java14_64
    INSTANCE_PROPERTIES = $(DIR_INSTANCE)/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties
    SDM_PROPERTIES = $(DIR_INSTANCE)/SDM/program/config/sdm_jstartup.properties
    jstartup/instance_properties = $(INSTANCE_PROPERTIES);$(SDM_PROPERTIES)
    ms/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP, PORT=8100

  • Cannot uninstall sql server 2012 on Windows 7

    This is the error a co-worker gets when trying to uninstall SQL Server 2012. She is running Windows 7 Professional
    Service Pack 1, 64 bit OS. She had SQL 2008 installed and then installed 2012 Enterprise as well, because she needed it for a project. The problem is we don't have a license for local instances of Enterprise, so we need to install it. However,
    2012 Setup is telling us we don't have the minimum requirements to *install* 2012. Which leads to some interesting questions:
    1) Why does the 2012 installer allow you to install but not uninstall when you don't meet system requirements?
    2) How does that make any sense?
    3) Does she really need to install more software to be able to uninstall? Since SP1 is already installed, what would that be?
    Thanks!
    Joe

    Hello,
    In theory, if Windows 7 has SP1 then it is compatible with SQL Server 2012.
    Please try to use the procedure explained on the following article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143412.aspx
    If that article does not help, please perform the following steps to manually uninstall SQL Server 2012:
    1. Uninstall all SQL Server 2012 components you can using Control Panel -> Programs and Features
    2. Backup the registry.
    3. Delete the following keys in regedit:
    --HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server
    --HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
    4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and delete all the sub-keys referencing SQL Server.
    5. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services and delete all the keys referencing SQL Server.
    6. Rename all the SQL Server folders in the computer like
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server and subfolders.
    Hope this helps.

  • Script Uninstall of Java

    I am trying to uninstall Java via a Powershell script. It works great, but the script removes all java builds. This includes Symantec NetBackup, JReports, and anything that has an embedded version of Java. Is there any way I could change this script to
    uninstall just Oracle Java installations?
    $java = Get-WmiObject -Class win32_product | where { $_.Name -like "*Java*"}
    $msiexec = "C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe";
    $msiexecargs = '/x "$($app.IdentifyingNumber)" /qn /norestart'
    if ($java -ne $null)
        foreach ($app in $java)
            write-host $app.LocalPackage
            write-host $app.IdentifyingNumber
            &C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe /c "C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe /x $($app.IdentifyingNumber) /qn"
            Start-Process -FilePath $msiexec -Arg $msiexecargs -Wait -Passthru
            [Diagnostics.Process]::Start($msiexec, $msiexecargs);
    if ($java -ne $null)
        foreach ($app in $java)
            write-host $app.LocalPackage
            write-host $app.IdentifyingNumber
            &C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe /c "C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe /x $($app.IdentifyingNumber) /qn"
            Start-Process -FilePath $msiexec -Arg $msiexecargs -Wait -Passthru
            [Diagnostics.Process]::Start($msiexec, $msiexecargs);
    else { exit }

    I've actually written a Powershell module that has a number of exclusions already built in to the query and can easily be added to for other products like Netbackup. The module also includes a -Whatif switch that you can use to see the and record the results
    without actually uninstalling anything.
    I also added a switch to keep a particular version of Java installed if required. The Powershell module and a more detailed description can be found at my blog: http://24by7365.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/uninstall-java-the-easy-way-redux/
    Thanks. Will take a look.

  • How do I manually uninstall Photoshop 7 Wiindows 7?

    I have an old install of Photoshop 7 on my laptop (Windows 7 32-bit) that I am unable to uninstall. I have admin rights, but using the Windows program uninstaller tells me that I don't have sufficient rights to uninstall. The original program CD does not have an uninstall option, nor does attempting to re-install from the CD change my ability to uninstall it. A search of the web and search of Adobe's site have support documents for removing PS Elements and the CS versions of PS, but not version 7, at least that I have been able to find.
    I understand the process of manually removing software and removing its entries with RegEdit, I am just looking for a document that lists all the registry entries specific to Photoshop 7. Note: just searching for any "Adobe" or "Photoshop" entries within RegEdit won't work as I have other Adobe software, including a newer versions of Photoshop that I do not want to remove, so I'm looking for a list of all registry keys that are specific to PS7, as well as, the various other folders a PS install creates. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

    Are you getting this error message while uninstalling FIM?

    Save and exit out from Central Administration and try to uninstall now and it should work.  It worked for me.

  • Manual uninstall of 2005A client

    We had a client install fail during the upgrade process from 2005A SP01 PL10 to 2005A SP01 PL43.  Now it has been left in a state where we cannot complete the install and we cannot uninstall.  Is anybody able to give me steps to manually uninstall the components of the client application?

    Hi Greg,
    In order to clean the client you should do the following:
    1. Delete the SAP folder in the program files folder.
    2. Delete all SAP entries in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
       and HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    3. Restart the PC
    4. Run the SAP Business One client setup.
    Within this setup you might run to an error like
    "This application cannot be installed. Please deinstall older version
    first".
    If so you can use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility you find under;
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q290301/
    to remove the still existing SAP Business One Client entries from the registry.
    Next:
    Re-run the client setup.
    Hope this will be helpful,
    Regards,
    Willy
