Manual update- help!

so, if i have my ipod on the option to be manually updated, does that mean i still have to have all my songs on the computer, or can i delete some things off my computer to free up some memory and still keep them on my ipod?

If you are using your iPod in manual mode you can delete them if you wish. One major word of caution though. If you delete songs from your PC and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. External drives are quite cheap these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. If you are unable to enter the passcode into your device, you will have to restore the device to circumvent that passcode.
Is the music purchased from iTunes? If it is you can contact iTunes support and ask them to allow you to re-download the music that you purchased from iTunes.
Also, do you sync the device regularly? When syncing an iPod Touch/iPhone a backup file is made. That backup file doesn't contain your music but it does contain your address book, application data, pictures, notes, etc. After restoring your device, you can try restoring from the last backup that was made of your device so you will not have to start over completely from scratch.

Doesn't any bring up the fact that Apple has so many customers with problems that the refuse to help unless you pay them cash? Do you have any other drive connected, which has a copy of FCP X?
I would make a copy of the application in some drive, just in case; then disconnect the drive, delete the application (could use FCS Remover to delete everything related).
Then, try installing from the purchases tab in the App Store.

Manually Updating Library Help

Hi. I just figured out how to update my ipod from my iTunes manually by the preferences option. But after that- when I plug my ipod to my computer by the USB cable, my ipod won't show up in the iTunes Sources. Can someone please tell me how to manually update my library to my ipod from there? The problem is that my ipod will not show up in itunes at all after I put on the manual update option. After that, I can update it from the file bar or even change it back from the preferences. So I'm stuck...

Cannot delete songs from iPod when in manual update mode

Hi
I am using iTunes 7 and i'm trying to delete some songs just from my iPod and i have always used the manual update option.
The problem is when i go into the songs on my iPod and go into a playlist and try to delete the songs within a playlist it won't let me. BUT when i search for those same songs within my iPod library (library shows all songs on the iPod) i can delete them.
So my problem is i cannot delete songs within playlists just from my iPod. I know that deleting the playlist on the left hand side navigation bar will still keep the songs there, it will only delete the actual playlist.
Also when i select a song(s) the edit menu is all greyed out except for copy.
Can anyone help please.

Try using the key combination Shift-Delete when deleting from a song from a playlist, this will delete it from the library as well.

Go from manually update to auto-update without losing songs?

I was trying to delete some podcasts from my ipod, and was following the directions on the help menu which told me to go to preferences and choose manual update, then delete. I tried it, and it didn't work. When I decided to go back to auto update, I received a message that everything on my ipod would be deleted and the update would be just what is on the itunes on that machine. I have more than one computer, and have itunes on each one. There are different songs on each computer. If I go to manually update on this computer, it will erase the songs I've put on from other computers. All this and I still have the unwanted podcasts. Can anyone help me to go back to auto-update without losing songs? If worse comes to worst I guess I'll have to update, lose the songs, and then re-update at my other computers. thanks.

Afraid that's not possible. If you go to auto-update, the iPod gets cleared and replaced with the current contents of the iTunes library.

HP 6770m Driver Update Help

Hello, I am the owner of a dv6-6173cl laptop. This laptop has an i7 processor along with a 6770m Radeon graphics card that is set up in switchable graphics. Unfortunately, I cannot download drivers from the AMD website due to HP messing with the graphics card. I looked on the support section for my laptop and found drivers that are also very out of date. My card is currently running drivers that were published on 3/15/11. I need new drivers to keep up with current games and programs because that is what this machine was bought for. I've tried to download drivers from the AMD site and they will not work. I've tried downloading the SP55092 file I saw on a related post and that also did not change my drivers. However when I manual update the drivers through the device manager it says my drivers are up to date. Also when I try to access CCC it says that I don't currently have any AMD drivers running. I am unsure is this is due to outdated drivers or switchable graphics playing tricks on me. Any help would be appreciated.

I have read your post on how there is an issue with your AMD graphics driver on your notebook, and I would be happy to assist you!
The first step I recommend is to uninstall your AMD driver from Programs and Features. Once removed, you will need to delete the driver from the Device Manager. To do this, please follow this resource on Using Device Manager to Uninstall Devices and Driver Packages.
The next step will be to restart your computer, and download the sp55092 softpaq for Windows 7, or the sp59850 for Windows 8. This should help update to the most current driver available for your system.

Change logs not working for manual update modify/delete statements.

                 My requirement is to display the change logs for a few custom z tables.The log data changes is selected in technical settings of the table.When any changes are made to the table using sm30 the changes are logged.
My requirement also displays an alv grid which allows the users to edit/insert/delete   entries in the table.
In this case the change logs are not getting recorded(ie whenever the user manually updates or inserts a row into the table the change docs are not getting stored).
My code works like this,
Whenever the user chooses a custom table and selects the display change log button i transter the control of my abap program to the standard rsvtprot program(sap std. pgm to display change logs).
sample code:
elseif sscrfields-ucomm eq c_chgdoc.
    refresh:r_seltab.
    clear:r_seltab.
    r_seltab-sign   = 'I'.
    r_seltab-option = 'EQ'.
    r_seltab-low      = w_tab.

In TM you should open the transaction /SCMTMS/ZONE. Here you select the zone you would like to modify and you execute the changes you would like to make.

Need manual updates for 9.2 and 9.55 to do clean reinstall of acrobat 9.0 pro from cd

I just did a new nstallation of acrobat V9.0 professional from CD:
I need a link to the master incremental update for 9.2 and the master 9.55 incremental update that goes from V9.2 to V9.55
I am looking for a master baseline release.
My reinstall is on an old XPSP3 machine. When acrobat professional 9.0 goes away I will still need the incremental update from V9.0 to V9.55
I do not need to put acrobat X or acrobat XI on this machine. A new acrobat X or acrobat XI license is for a new machine.
I keep all my master and incremental updates in archival. That way i can rebuild my machine.
This is the way it is normally done.
the autoinstaller jumped me from V9.0 on CD to V9.2 and from V9.2 to V9.55.
I dont' see master releases in the table that do the same thing.
there were only 2 updates.

Most of the manual updates are not cummulative. It sounds like you did the updates from the help menu (and many of those are cummulative -- don't know why they are not available). You may be able to find the updates you used on your harddrive -- I have seen them before, but don't remember where, probably the users folder or such.

Powershell will not update-help

Update-help doesn't work. Update-help -sourcepath "D:\update help" also doesn't work. I manually downloaded the files and put them in that folder since the live update fails, but even that won't work. Pasting error message:

How do I set iTunes to manually update songs without connecting iPod first?

Hi. I just got a new computer and downloaded iTunes. The User Guide says that when you connect the iPod, iTunes automatically updates all songs in your iTunes and deletes songs that are not in iTunes. As far as I can see by reading the User's Guide, iPod has to be connected to change the setting to "manual update". I already have an iPod with songs in it that are not on the iTunes that I just downloaded. I'm afraid that if I connect my iPod, it will erase the songs already in my iPod because of the default "automatic update" setting. Does anyone know how I can change the setting to "manual update" BEFORE I connect the iPod to the computer?

It is not an Adobe problem. You have a OS permissions problem. You can try to correct this by using Disk Utility to Repair Permissions. It is in the First Aid area of Disk Utility.

Itunes/ipod updating HELP!

whenever i plug my ipod into the computer it updates my ipod, however once that update is done if i change a setting and hit sync or apply nothing happens..itunes say it is updating but my ipod doesn't respond and it says that it is updating for a good minute or so then i get an error message. the error message says that the ipod cannot be synced, the required disk cannot be found.
how can i get this to work so that i can update my ipod?
also..if you uninstall your itunes then reinstall it will you lose all of your songs? if you can help me PLEASE do..i can't get anything to work.

Why can't you set it to manually update?
Connect your iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Set it to manually manage music. Click OK.
