Manual Video Slideshow - Is It Possible?

I am pondering a project where a speaker could use a DVD player as if it were an old slide projector.
The speaker talks
Presses play (or next chapter) on the DVD player
The chapter plays and then stops
The speaker talks
Presses play...
The chapter plays...
Is something like this possible?
If so, could somebody give me a few keywords that I should use to search this forum on, or look up in the help.
Thanks
Mathias

We'll never know - if they told us, they'd have to kill us! :)
What you want should be possible - I cannot think of any reason why you couldn't do that.
Can you be a little more specific though - it seems to me that all you really need to do is have the timeline, and a remote unit to hit "pause" whenever necessary.
Don't see the problem - but I have been incredibly stupid the last couple of days, so that means nothing.

Can't see ipod videos from 60GB ipod classic.  I have Apple USB/video cable running through Onkyo receiver into Samsung TV. Video & TV out settings seem correct-I can see album cover, but no video. Is it possible to get itunes music videos to play or do I need to get new ipod.   It works on my iPad and iPhone, but not through iPod Classic.

Are these music videos located under Videos on your iPod?  Do it play other regular movies (if you have any on the device)?

This isn't the actual clip, I fixed it by highlighting and moving everything over but it'd still be a good thing to know for the future. This is essentially the situation i'm talking about. I would never use it for something this simple, but when more complicated editing is being done it isn't so easy to just move all the clips over.

When exporting a video slideshow to my desktop it will start and then just end with no progress so I have to close it out.  I get no warnings or any explanations. Any ideas?  I am running Windows 7.  No problem viewing it in LR.  Thanks

Found out LR wasn't stopping but slowed way down. For 19 pictures, no video and no sound it took over 6 Hrs to export.  Does anyone have any ideas to help this?  Thank You.

  • Image order of video slideshow

I created a photoshop.com video slideshow of an album I created in Photoshop Elements 10. The slideshow played the images in a completely different order than the original album. How can I make the slideshow order match the original album?

    Slide show sorting:
No, Mylenium, you are definitly wrong, You can choose any image order you want within slideshows:
    1. Make thumbnail temporarily visible and drag the thumnail to the position you want.
    or
    2. Identify the slides in layers panel and drag their panel entries to the position you want.
    Accordion panel:
You can choose whatever size you want – even with a slideshow within:
You have to make sure, that all element of the slideshow (caption, prev, next, counter) fit within the accordion panel. And – since the single accordeon panels don’t allow individual sizes – you have to make sure, that the content of every(!) accordeon panel does not exceed the size you want.

  • Creating a Flash Video Slideshow

I was wondering if there was a tutorial somewhere on how to create a flash video slideshow similar to this website: http://slideshowpro.net/video/slideshowpro_for_flash#num=891929&id=album-42765 . Frankly, I don't even know if that's the correct term for it. The idea is to have one skin (Flash Player) on the site that plays videos with a list of various videos to choose from below. Furthermore, it should play it like switching channel on a TV, like on the site above, not like on YouTube or Metacafe (where a new page opens up with the video). This would be kind of like switching channels on a TV. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Hello guys! Do you know how to make a video smaller on imovie? Not by size or trim, i mean simply show the video as small as possible in the middle of the screen! Please text back.

Hello guys! Do you know how to make a video smaller on imovie? Not by size or trim, i mean simply show the video as small as possible in the middle of the screen! Please text back.

Go to the Map, Background & Animatic Browser (last button in the centre tool bar alongside the Transition button). Drag the Black background (or any background) to your project. From an Event, drag the video selection directly onto the Black clip in the project. As you drop the video clip, a pop-up menu will appear. Select Picture in Picture.
Your video will appear as a small picture within the black clip. Click on it and reposition it to the centre of the viewer, using the yellow guide lines to get the exact centre position. Resize the Picture in Picture if desired by dragging the corner handles.
NOTE: You may need to extend the duration of the Black clip to match the duration of the video clip. Double-click on the Black clip to open the Inspector, then adjust the duration there.

  • Manual video update

I am running out of space on my hard drive, so I have my ipod set to manually update to keep everything on there instaid of my comp. anyway, whenever I copy my movies over, they copy to the ipod, just not under TV shows/ Music videos/ Movies. They just go to the recently added playlist even though I have each video set as what type of video it is in its options. So how do I fix this?

I've been looking for information on the same thing. As far as I know, it isn't possible. The only way to keep the videos on your ipod and not on the computer that I know of is to turn your update to manual. This is a hastle, because on manual, you have to manually update each song evertime you change something. I've been fooling around with it and I'll let you know if I find a solution.

  • Horizontal Scrolling Thumbnails Slideshow (Are these possible in Muse CC 2014)

Good afternoon Muse Forum: My name is Ira Bitner from NYC U.S.A.
How are you? I have a question regarding slideshow and thumbnails in MUSE CC 2014.
Q: In Muse is it possible to have a Slideshow with Scrolling Horizontal Thumbnails? In other words is it possible to build a slideshow where, for instance, maybe 30 thumbnails are used but only 5 or so are visible in a horizontal row under the main ("hero" image) and when an arrow is clicked the thumbnails advance horizontally to the left bringing up the new group of thumbnails that were, "hidden" on the original horizontal row? This allows the site to contain many more thumbnails than can "fit" on the page and at the same time not cause the extra thumbnails to be made to be stacked vertically all on the same page seen all at once?
This is a very popular way to show a slideshow that advances the images. I have spent all night and hours and hours researching Muse in the forums, videos, tutorials web-wide and have not been able to find a way to achieve this kind of slideshow. I would have thought the actual slideshow widget would have made it very  evident if this was actually possible to build in Muse. Please help. If you need any website link as an example of the slideshow advancing thumbnail horizontally I'll add one, but it is very common and I can't believe Muse would not allow this to be built.

  • Overlaying over video overlays, is it possible?

    Hi,
I have created a video overlay, but cant seem to get the icon i would like in the bottom corner to stay on top. I tried turning the icon into an mso overlays, but still goes to the back of the video, when the video plays.
I have the same issue with a sequence overlay. I have produce a 360 spin, but would like to create an icon in the bottom corner, but as soon as you swipe to activate the sequence, the icon disappears. Again have tried turning the icon into a mso, but no luck so fare.
Any advices would be greatfully received.

One possibility is that your MSO isn't being converted to a slideshow overlay. When you create a two-state dummy MSO, select it and turn on an option such as Swipe in the Overlays panel. Otherwise, DPS just includes the current state of the MSO with the rest of the background image and doesn't make it a slideshow overlay.
There are several masking examples with instructions in the Advanced Overlays issue of DPS Tips.

  • Video slideshow

I have a presentation of 20 slides. Each slide contains a full screen video of various durations I want to run the presentation in a loop, so once I hit play on slide 01 it plays it's movie for the full duration, then advances automatically to the slide 02 which automatically plays the second movie for it's duration, then to slide 03 ... etc.
I can't seem to work out how to tell KN, to automatically wait for the movie to end before advancing to the next slide.
I can manually set a duration of seconds, but that means manually getting the duration of eacch movie and setting it in the 'wait for' duration. Surely that's not necessary ... ?

iPhoto I suppose would be simplest.
Just go to Slideshows and drag your photos and videos. You can rearrange them, decide on a lot of parameters. Without any work you can come up with something really nice.
Something I created in just few minutes:

I was wondering if there was a way to add videos to the ipod and delete them off your computer with deleting them off the ipod with auto matic updates

  • What to use to create a picture and video slideshow/presentation?

I was curious as to what someone would use in order to create a picture and video presentation/slideshow?
I think that iPhoto does a good job with getting all your pictures in order, and then using the templates and choosing your music to create a slideshow. However, if one wanted to include some video and narration into the slideshow, I imagine that they would need to use iMovie as well.
I know that you can drop images into iMovie as well, and I think they are automatically given Ken Burns effect, but if you have a lot of images, I think it gets pretty tedious working with all those photos, when iPhoto will already do all of that for you.
So, long story short. I would like to make a presentation with video and images. I would like to use multiple songs, and possible trim the amount of each particular song down, so there is some sort of mix/flow from one song to the other. I would also like to be able to record a narration and include it in the slideshow. I know that iMovie does a lot of that...I saw the narration feature, and the ability to trim the songs back some, and include more than one song. It also has the ability to choose only the portion of video that I want. So would you pre-create the photo portion of your slideshow in iPhoto, convert it to a movie, and dump it into iMovie? That seems clunky.
What process would you use? In my mind, I picture using a program that had some sort of timeline in order to be able to fine tune the audio and video, and iMovie has a timeline of sorts.
    Currently running iLife '09.

I've been working for the last three weeks on a project like the one you describe. It turns out to be far beyond my limited competence, but I'm committed and have to trudge on.
Mine may be a little different from yours in that it has the equivalent of 106 "slides." There are twenty video. The "stills" are either text I've made in Word and saved to iPhoto as a pdf doc or photos. I've engaged actors to read the text that goes with most of still-slides. I thought I could create individual slides with the sound 'attached,' string them together and then make a movie out of the Power Point or Keynote slide show.
    Nothing has worked so far.
iMovie has been a special heartbreaker. I've had at least a half-dozen chats with Apple Care and a couple of trips to an Apple Store to solve one challenge after another.
I can help with  Ken Burns. Tedious is not a strong enough word, and the 'help' menu is not helpful, because it is Wrong., The controls are NOT the least bit intuitive. In fact, they make no sense - at least to me.
[I gave up on iMovie the first time because of Ken and the absence of intelligible instructions to make him leave.]
    (1) Not finding the control. "Help" says to click on the crop icon on the tool bar (between mic and i) or to type "C". All I get is the crop function - Ken is nowhere to be seen.
    (2) Finding it. The crop icon that should have been designated is accessible when you select a still photo. The hand icon appears; on the left side there is column of three icons. On top is Crop; the middle is the duration for the still - the default default is "4 s" // the bottom icon is the gear. Click the gear; there are four rows of choices; click the one at the bottom  "cropping, Ken Burns & Rotation". At the top left corner there are three boxes "fit | crop | Ken Burns"// select "Fit" and Ken Burns is turned off. Why is "fit" is the opposite of "Ken Burns"? I don't know.
Here's a warning and a sad tale. I spent about three days getting the first 64 still/videos/transitions and audio clips assembled the way I wanted them. The audio for 65 went in okay and it looked okay, but nothing would make it play. 66 was okay but not 67 or any subsequent attempt - although the videos after 67 were okay.
During my final Apple Care conversation the diagnosis was: "corruption." Start over again with a new project!
I could select, copy and paste the visuals in those three moves, but the audios had to go over one at a time. Since you can't have two projects going at the same time, I'd have to copy one audio clip from the old project, select the new project and wait for it to come up, make the paste, and then wait for the old project to come up.
So watch out. I gave up on iMovie because the recreation of a new project would be so agonizing and with such a big project, I don't know how to avoid "corruption" for sure, and neither did the guy at Applecare.  I switched to iPhoto, but after a day I realize that it's audio capability requires a process as tedious as trying to redo the iMovie.
Final Cut Pro is probably the right program but that's a whole other thing.

  • Lego-block appears for videos/slideshows?

Whenever I try to open a video (like on tv-links.co.uk) in the box that pops-up, there is a lego looking block that has two question marks on each side, and the video won't load.
Also, on slideshows, like the top of http://www.usanetwork.com/series/psych/ for example, has the block as well..and it's not video. So I'm confused. Can anyone help, please?
I just downloaded Safari today (to prepare for when I get my MacBook soon) so I have another question...I'm used to IE7 where you can have one website open and press a tab and open another one...how do you do that on Safari with only one website open?

Well if you're talking about Safari for Windows (I assume you are) then you should check http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html for the proper plugins. This could work, but some users are still having problems that probably won't be fixed on Windows for some time. I can say that I can see the videos on the link you provided fine, so it's at least possible to get it working on Windows somehow.
As for the second question, if you are refering to opening a second, new tab, you have a couple of options:
    1) Ctrl-t (command-t on your new mac) will open a new tab
    2) Right click on the already open tab, and select new tab
    3) File->New Tab
As for your new macbook, its good to note it will come installed with Safari 2, not Safari 3, in which Tabbed browsing is off by default (you'll have to go to Safari->Preferences and enable tabbed browsing first). If you'd like, you can just download the Safari 3 Beta for Mac and use that instead, and in all likelyhood videos will work just fine on the Mac version, as it (for me at least) is vastly more stable and more complete.
    Cheers.
