Manual video update

I am running out of space on my hard drive, so I have my ipod set to manually update to keep everything on there instaid of my comp. anyway, whenever I copy my movies over, they copy to the ipod, just not under TV shows/ Music videos/ Movies. They just go to the recently added playlist even though I have each video set as what type of video it is in its options. So how do I fix this?

This is a hastle, because on manual, you have to manually update each song evertime you change something. I've been fooling around with it and I'll let you know if I find a solution.

Nokia N8 'Videos' Update (1217kb)

I received the 'Videos' Update (1217kb) on my N8 through the Software update.
I tried to update through a pc but the update didn't show up.
I have tried many times to install it but the installation fails all the time. Any suggestions?

Having the same issues here, did hard reset on phone and still getting error messages on 3 updates withing OVI suite and using high speed broadband connection and not phones internet!!!!

also social updates to 1.3 and successfully installs and logs onto both facebook and twitter but within minutes twitter is logged off and WILL NOT log back in saying username and or password incorrect... same username and password open twitter on any other device just not nokia social app 1.3.....

If you use a Firefox version from your Linux distribution then you can only update that version via the software update from that distribution and not via "Help > Check for Updates" in Firefox.

MacBook Pro Video Update 1.0 problem

I downloaded MacBook Pro Video Update 1.0 (Snow Leopard) and I am using Mac OS X Ver 10.6.8 however it alerts that this software is not supported on your system. I have the problem of black screen of death. I am using an extra display. I arranged mirrors displays so I can use the computer.
What should I do?
By the way I am in Turkey.

I went the authorized service in Ankara Turkey. They said they have to change whole screen and wanted to get 800$. Of course, I rejected. Then, they said they have a second hand display connector cable (which was the suspected piece for the problem) to replace for $80. I accepted and gave $80. Problem fixed! My computer is still working perfectly.

Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004 Video Update does not work

When I import an MPEG video into Flash MX 2004 Pro, it works
every time except when I try to edit the video and create mulitiple
clips. If I try to create clips, it lets me go through the import
process, right up to when I click Finish. When I click Finish, it
just goes back to the first Import Screen (where it asks whether
you want to import the whole video or edit it first). It does not
import the video at all. This seems like it is an obvious bug. I
have tried installing the Macromedia Flash MX Professional 2004
Video Update and that does not help. I'm on a Windows XP machine
with Flash MX 2004 Pro v. 7.2. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm on a Mac and don't had this problem. But I do watch for
video issues on this site and haven't seen this – I might
have missed a few, but most Flash users are on Windows so I think
it would be common if it were something wrong with Flash in
general.
Then again, what do I know? Because the more I'm thinking
about it the more I think I might have had this problem. But I
really can't remember. And sorry to say the solution was to not use
the import function to edit my videos.
You also might want to just see if it is the format of the
file you are importing. Perhaps a different source will work
better? I'm just grasping at straws here.
If you have many of these to do and a budget I suggest
getting a third party tool like Squeeze. Otherwise if you have some
third party editor you might want to use that.

Can Dreamweaver be set to perform manual software updates
only? E.g., rather than logging on and informing of an available

Unfortunately there is now way to get the updates files so that you can update manually...
Nokia Software Updater requiers an internet connection because the files are donwloaded from the internet and put on the phone right after...
BUT, help should be provided by a Nokia Care Point to put the latest firmware on your phone. Since it is a software update it should be free of charge...

Screen is Blank after Video Update

I installed the video update last night on my early 2008 MacBook Pro 15". When I rebooted I could hear the post beep and the DVD drive seeking but the screen is now completely blank.
The basic troubleshooting I've done is as follows
- Reset PRAM
- Tried to boot off the Snow Leopard DVD
- Tried to boot in safe mode (hold down shift)
All of this has failed.
Surely this software update didn't fry my video (I've done that before on a PC). I don't have apple care.

Update to my situation (not OP's situation) of 10+ minutes boot times after the SL Graphics Update on a Mac Pro (early 2009)
After trying everything (and a second time, on a call to Apple), I took the machine in for hardware repair. The MacPro processor board replacement didn't do anything, but changing the IO board (on which the PCIe connectors sit) fixed the problem and the machine is booting in about a minute and working well.
Educated guess is that the old hardware was meeting some specification only marginally.
This is posted for the record and to help future searchers with similar problems.

Manually adding/updating LAN drivers

Has anyone ever manually added/updated LAN drivers to the Zenworks imaging distro?
I find we need to include an smsc7500 driver for the new Dell Windows 8.1 tablets being shipped to us.
I've never tried to inject drivers into the initrd before -- I've avoided it, because the documentation is confusing even for our in-house SUSE experts. In the past I've just waited for Novell to release an imaging update that included the new drivers.
If you've done this successfully, how did you do it?

We needed that same driver also, spent several days trying to add that driver to the imaging distro without success. If you manage to pull it of then please let me know.

Manage VIdeo Updates MANUALLY!

I usually manage songs and playlist manually as I never keep library refurbished (takes too much of hard drive space but keep it in separate hard drive as backup)
I want to manage videos manually: IMPOSSIBLE>
My video tag in the preferences menu keeps being frozen unless I select AUTOMATICALLY MANAGE SONGS in the music tag.
ANY CLUES! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! I am starting to regret to migrate from 4th to 5th generation IPOD!!! should have kept my IPOD PHOTOS!

Not impossible at all. In fact, you're already doing it.
If your music is set for manual updates... then you are also using manual updates for video. This is why the video preferences are greyed out.
When your music is in manual update mode, so is video. Just drag & drop video files as you would your music.

Manual Vs. Automatic iPod Song/Video Updates

i accidently changed my settings to manual and had to import the last 7 things which are all videos onto my ipod which is fine. but than when i go back to change my settings to automatic it deletes all the videos off my ipod. the only way to get them back on is if i do manual update and i don't want that setting.
how do i change my settings back to automatic with those 7 most recent files staying on my ipod?

i dont have my iPod right now to hook up to and make sure on iTunes...but cant u change manual/automatic for both music AND videos. make sure u have music set to automatic and videos to automatic.

Ipod set to manual, video options grayed out, no copying

First, I was experimenting, which is why I am having the following issue. My ipod 30gig Video was formatted on Windows XP when purchased. I decided I wanted the new update, but to do that I had to get rid of everything and use the iPod CD to convert the iPod to a Mac format. I used PodUtil and copied every song and video purchased from Mac and stored them on my computer hard drive. The format to mac was flawless, even re-importing all the songs and videos into my iTunes library. I copied all the songs back into my iPod, no problems. Problem now...none of the Clone Wars, Avatar or other videos will copy to my iPod. I can highlight all of them , drag them to the ipod and get the green plus sign, but no copying occurs. Under iPod>options>videos, everything is grayed out. I can't choose anything. Under iPod>options>Music, it is set to manage playlists and music manually. So, how can I get my legally purchased Mac videos into my iPod now? Videos I have edited in Final Cut Pro and exported in the iPod format copy over flawlessly. For a tedious solution, I could import all the videos bought from apple into final cut pro and re-export them as iPod formats and then import the newly converted versions back into my iPod, but there is no garauntee that will work. Any ideas ?

Hold down the ⌥ and ⌘ keys while connecting your iPod. Keep them down until iTunes has opened and your iPod shows in the Source list.

Ipod Video Update

We just got one of the new 30gb ipod's, with video. When I go to the "iPod Options" tab and click on "Video", all of the options are grayed out. I don't have the option to update the videos...I thought that if I went and bought Quicktime Pro it would fix it, but it didn't.
Any suggestions?

there is nothing you can do about it. I think that it is one of bugs. only you can do if you want to update video which won't be gray out, it will be only available with automatic setup. then, you can decide which one you should download or not. it is ironical. I don't understand why apple didn't make the same manual setup as music. but I hope that they will fix this problem soon.

Servers where patches will not install automatically or manually, Live updates are broken and when checking installed updates shows "NO UPDATES ARE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER" SFC \SCANNOW will not run

Hello, (Bit of a long one but please read)
We have 3 servers in same physical location and server OU etc that are exhibiting the exact same behaviors (we have server servers in this location that are not), as above theyt are all W2008 R2 SP1 and all built from the same standard
image we use on hundreds of other computers, they have also been in production for different amounts of time and we started to see this behavior at different times with them: (Its odd they are all in the same site where there are also several other servers
that are not effected, there must be a link ? )
These servers are all missing several patches when checking our internal tool that reports from IBM endpoint management that we use to deliver patches (they are not all missing the exact same patches some ore or less than other), although
SCCM (we used SCCM to deliver patches until around 6 months ago) and IBM EM are both running (some ptches hark back to the SCCM Delievry days) they are not patching and when attempting to patch manually by downloading the exact patch coresponding to the fixlet
ID and the KB , the stanbdalone installer starts and after some time you receive an error message “The update is not applicable to yoru computer”. Windows update returns error 80070006 for all of the servers.
it is worth noting that other applications and products also using the .MSU extension will insatll so it is not a problem with the installer service.
The above led me to think a corrupt patch may have stopped the sequence of patching so I then looked in “Programs and Features” => “Installed updates” and this is blank for all of them returening the message:
“NO UPDATES ARE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER”. (this I believe is a part of the fundamental issues and resolving this may resolve the patching)
Another issue is that if you run “SFC /SCANNOW” It starts the scan and then returns: “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation” (Also in safe mode and both from an elevated CMD and WMI is started as a service)
The all three are probably related so I think fixing the “SFC and NO UPDATES SHOWN” issues will resolve the first.
The things I have tried so far are:
Running : wmic qfe list full /format:htable > c:\updates.htm Should produce a list of updates but instead returns : No Instance(s) Available (this is not hopeful)
Fix: Ran the “SYSTEM UPDATE REDINESS TOOL” from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
Result : Update Ran successfully but NO CHANGE
Fix: Ran the automated and manual fix “RESET WINDOWS UPDATE COMPONENTS” here :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058/en then undated windows update agent.
Result : All ran successfully and NO CHANGE
Fix: Ran MBSA
Result : Runs successfully and then stays at “Done downloading security update information” (Log gives no obvious information)
Fix: Renamed the software distribution folder/restarted services (Various variations of this fix online, tried a few)
Result: Runs as described in article with new Software distribution folder being created,
NO CHANGE
Fix: Create/Correct the reg key for windows trusted installer located here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version (several articles relating to this and the above issues)
Result: the existing key was correct as should be from internal system information gathered , required in article.
Fix: Ran the “Windows update trouble-shooter”
as here :

Result: It detected and fixed error’s but still no change.
The WMI Repository checks out on them all for both of the methods I know to verify “Get-wmiobject –list |measure” and ensure count is over 900 and also “C:\>winmgmt /verifyrepository” and the repository came back as “WMI Repository is consistent”. I guess
this is not hard evidence the WMI is OK, but these are the only methods I know.
I have also tried removing the server from its OU , running a GP Update and then rebooting and testing but to no avail (Bit of a longshot but tried to link the distinction between the three servers and the OU GP is one of them)
I have tried a few other articles registering .Dll’s etc , but I did not take a note of links as I was at the start of this and didn’t expect it to go so long so please reply with anything you see not above im happy to try again.
I have thought about removing SP1 and reinstalling it but this will require a major downtime and only possible if the backup files of SP1 have not been removed.
Any help is apreciated !
