Manual Yahoo POP3 setup??????

Hello I currently have the Nokia 5700 with T-mobile USA
Im trying to set up my yahoo manually using the POP3 setup. and i have not been able to do it. has anyone successfully set up Yahoo on their phones manually? I know that Yahoo GO 2.0 is an option but its to slow and alot of the features that I require are not there. its frustrating. IF anyone has done this could you please tell me how. thank you very much

I sent up my Nokia 6500 Slide to receive Yahoo emails.

Select Advance Settings, then email. You have to put in country, mobile provider and phone number and it sends the settings to your phone
Alot of people say you cant do pop3 yahoo mails on mobile without buying yahoo premium package but i did.

Exchange 2013 pop3 setup

can anyone point to link for beginners to setup pop3 exchange 2013?

However, in Exchange on-premises, you should enable and configure POP3 as Amit suggested.
Then in Outlook, you can add pop3 account:

** Yahoo Mail setup not working! **

Just purchased a brand new iPad, but am unable to setup Yahoo Mail on the iPad's Mail application.
I am setting it up directly through the iPad - not via sync.
I keep getting an error that the username or password is incorrect after choosing the Yahoo Mail option, and entering the information, and waiting for it to authenticate. The message i get is: "username or password is incorect from "imap.apple.yahoo.mail.com"
the username and password are both correct: i am able to access yahoo webmail using both my regular mac safari browser, and the safari browser on the iPad itself, without a problem.
I tried deleting the account and re-setting it up several times, using the yahoo mail option. i get the same result
I even reset the password to one that did not have capital letters, in case there was a case sensitivity issue.
It is a "free" yahoo account (as opposed to yahoo plus), but my understanding is that this should not be an issue.
very frustrating to spend $900 for this device, and not even have basic email functionality... this was the primary reason i bought the device.
Any help or suggestions are very much appreciated.

hey, if you read up a few posts... i was able to resolve my problem with yahoo mail:

While several repeated attempts to create the account failed at the time, i tried again a day later and it was successful. So problem solved.>>>
It appears that many people have had this problem with Yahoo. It must happen from time to time, something with the servers on yahoo's end. the error they give you isnt very helpful in figuring it out.
I suggest you wait a day, delete the account you tried to create... and recreate it not manually but using the built in mail setup, choosing yahoo mail. Keep trying until it works, because it appears the problem is on yahoo's end not yours.
Oh and whatever you do, don't let anyone tell you (especially yahoo) that the reason is because you don't have a paid yahoo account and yours is a free email account. My free yahoo account, and many others, all work just fine.
Hope this helps, let us know that you were able to make it work. Obviously this is a rather widespread problem that either yahoo or apple should address.

In not able to send mails from my yahoo account, everytime I send, it ask for user name and password even when I hv disabled that option and though i enter password the mail remains in outbox,all the settings seems to be ok also im able to send mails from google account.

May we ask for the model of your phone? Have you tried to check if the outgoing mail server of your Yahoo account is correct?
Use the following POP server settings to configure Yahoo! Mail in an external email client:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Incoming port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing port: 465 (with SSL) or 587 (with SSL/TLS).
-It is necessary to enable SSL or TLS for outgoing SMTP port.
Email address: Your Yahoo! Mail address ([email protected])
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

Solution to yahoo mail setup issues with Apple mail...

There have to be a lot of people out there who have a similar setup as me --- ISP is Verizon (FIOS), and am using an iMac w/OS X, v 10.7.4, and Apple Mail v 5.2. No matter what I did, I could not get Apple mail to connect to Yahoo's smtp server... (Gmail was not working either) I spent hours on this. FINALLY -- I discovered the problem. My FIOS router/firewall was on the maximum security setting, which only allows outgoing smtp mail to port 25! Once I changed that firewall setting (which allows outgoing smtp mail to port numbers other than 25), I was finally able to connect to yahoo's smtp server! Now my Apple mail works just fine. Here are the settings I used:
Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Incoming port: 995
Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing port: Used "custom port" set to 465
SSL is used for both incoming and outgoing servers, with password as the authentication method.
Full email address is used wherever it says "user name" in mail preferences
* This is with Yahoo Plus mail. And before you do anything with Apple mail, you have to make sure that you enable "POP" mail in your Yahoo Plus account, under mail - settings.
I hope this saves some people the hours of time that it cost me!!

I have managed to get incoming mail to work. It is the outgoing settings that are still not working on my system. I have tried every configuration. I have gone back and forth between Verizon and Apple Care too many times to count.
Do you have to turn down the security level on the FIOS router/firewall before making these changes? If you do, it probably makes the system more vulnerable to malware, etc.
I have standard Yahoo Verizon mail. I believe you can enable it for POP mail. It certainly always worked for me before. Like you I have tried everything. I was also told that my internet connection is PPPoE versus DHCP which may also cause problems. Like you, I have spent days trying to sort this out.

Yahoo Email - setup fine but not receiving emails reliably?

I have a new mac air but am experiencing a frustration with email.
I have setup my yahoo email in the mail application & all sets up fine. I have run the 'doctor' & all returns green.
It is configured automatically with imap & all my folders appear.
However, when I start the email app (from close) any new email appears but then no new emails appear in the InBox.
- I hear the alert sound of a new email & the Dock plus Inbox shows a number - but nothing shows in the preview or email folder.
-I have run the doctor & all green
-I have checked the option for 'check for emails' which is set to evey minute
-If I do a 'rebuild' on the inbox from within mail app - somethimes this will refresh the folder & email appears
-Closing & restarting the Mail App sometimes solves my problem but not always
Ps, I installed MS Outlook for MAC 2011 & using the same settings, mail works fine / plus I check on another laptop & all works fine.
I would welcome advice on how to fix this.

Yahoo imap setup btinternet

Hi
i have 3 devices and each has IMAP setup too my btinternet account, but sent items and recieved e-mails are not in sync, also the mail clien keeps trying to sync all the e-mail, this is now getting annoying as it should be the same on each device and updated instantly
anyone got similar e-mail issues, is it mac mail or btinternet that is at fault

Yahoo bizmail setup

hello folks
I recently set up a yahoo business mail account to coincide with my new website. I set it up in mail according to the pop mail settings for " other mail servers" no support for mail. anyways the setting are as follows

password: its a secret
outgoing server: smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
the account is able to receive mail, but it cannot send it. It gives me an error message
the sender adress dan@ascendimages rejected by the server.

Is the Yahoo SMTP server authenticated and who is your ISP used for connecting to the internet?
Are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP and if so, can you send mail with this email account and SMTP server?
Something to try.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your Yahoo business email account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below.
At the Server Port field, enter 587 in place of 25 and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
Test if this resolves the problem.
If not and if the Yahoo SMTP server is not authenticated, select use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your Yahoo business email account which is invisible to all recipients.

Iweb and yahoo hosting setup questions

using iweb to create my page, trying to upload to my yahoo host service and can't get anything but a 404 file not found message. i've published to another folder, uploaded the index.html file and included graphic file and still get nothing. any advice would be much appreciated. thanks in advance!

My only other question is - am I to delete the files yahoo created in my directory, leaving only my own uploaded files?
There should be no need to do that.
when i type in my site name it goes to a directory, and if i click on the folder i uploaded it looks all good.
Seeing the directory instead of your site right away normally means you did not upload the index.html file which iweb created alongside the folder which has the name you gave your site inside the iweb app.

IPhone Yahoo Email Setup Problem

I am having issues for the past few days setting up Yahoo email. I had it working before but all of a sudden started to receive error message "The username or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect." I double checked and used the same to login to yahoo online successfully.
I am using correct case letters etc but still can't set up my yahoo email. Any ideas?

Att yahoo pop3 mail stopped downloading

A few days ago my pop email from ONE of my att accounts stopped downloading onto both my imac G5 and my ibook. I still can send messages, and another att yahoo account I have will send AND receive in the same apple mail application. I also can get my .mac email in apple mail.
Can pick up the att messages for the problem account on the web email interface and on my iphone, but I don't understand why I stopped getting them on the apple mail application.
Have checked all account settings and they are correct according to att's web site and support people. Have spent an hour on the phone with att yahoo support people, and they can't fix it.
Have also tried deleting the email account and setting it up again. Have dragged the com.apple.mail.plist file out of my library and onto the desktop to mimic setting mail up from scratch again. Apple Mail's "GET INFO" function can see the messages on the server, but they won't download.
Any suggestions?

You’re welcome, but I cannot assume anything you don’t tell us. What you had already tried is essential information that you should have provided from the very beginning...
Actually, it isn’t clear whether you tried removing from the server the particular message that Mail could be choking on or removed something else, nor whether Mail is really failing to download the messages or it’s actually downloading them but you have some rules that process them in an unexpected way...
Do the messages that Mail displays in the Account Info window, but apparently doesn’t download, appear there as already downloaded or as not downloaded yet (dot column)? If they appear as not downloaded yet, does Mail display any extraneous info for any of them, e.g. a size or a date that doesn’t make sense?
Not sure how Eudora or Thunderbird will help me here.
Well, reading what I said in the same paragraph where I suggested using another mail client would answer that, i.e. to avoid losing messages that Mail hasn’t downloaded yet as a result of removing them from the server...

For POP accounts, Mail uses a file within the account folder to keep track of which messages have already been downloaded. You may try deleting that file so that Mail treats the messages still on the server as if new and tries to download them again:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/ account folder.
3. Locate one or two files named MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded and move them to the Trash. Mail 1.x used MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded to keep track of which messages had already been downloaded. Mail 2.x uses MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 for the same purpose.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

Att.yahoo email setup

Anyone been successful setting up att.yahoo.com email? Please email settings if you have. My iphone keeps telling me either my username or password is incorrect, but I don't think it is.

Mail 4.5 Yahoo new setup -starts to download messages but stops at 148 out of 2800 and stops - please advise

Set up for Yahoo plus - when it starts downloading messages it stops at 148 and does not continue. Tried deleting account and starting again. It just runs to 148 (oldest ones) and stops. What settings can I adjust to get ALL my emails to download. They are not large files either. Tried adding a max size value of 5 M and still did not change situation.

You probaly would have better luck getting assistance from the Yahoo support site, if they have one. Good luck!

What is POP, POP3, and IMAP When I Setup My Email Account in the HP ePrint App?

I have done as much research as I can do in regards to setting up the HP ePrint App Email Accounts. If you do not see your email information listed here, feel free to post it below or contact your internet service provider, phone or email company, or whomever else that might know this. I am certain there are many more that could be added but this is a rather extensive list. I hope you find what you need to finish setting up your email applications.
I have noticed information differs from website to website but as I have learned over time, with domain masking and companies buying out other companies, I just researched all the information I could find and that way if one of the hostnames or ports don’t work, then you can continue to view further into this page to see if that information is the same. At that point, if you can’t find what you need here, I would say you have done all that you can do before contacting the appropriate support team for your email information.
Most of the links are active and the ones listed below should send you directly the pages I pulled this information from but only a few of them were from the actual support sites themselves (Apple support was vague, as well as Microsoft, Macintosh, and commonly used ISPs). Save yourself some time by searching here first. I hope you find what you need in this one-stop-shop and if you get an email address not listed here please post it below and I will add it to this original document.
Lastly, as this information is from forum-based and other unofficial websites, I would like to add that this is a copy/paste/edit-for-easy-reading document I created in my spare time. For networks, a port means an endpoint to a logical connection. The port number identifies what type of port it is. Here are the default email ports for:

From the home screen, tap Applications > Settings > Accounts & sync > Add account > Manual setup.

“As other web based email services, Hotmail is using the HTTP protocol for connecting you to your mailbox. Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.
