Manually add some photos to iPhone from mac

Hi all,
Now I want to manually add some photos to iPhone from mac (no iTunes syncing) just drag from mac to iphone
Q: how do I do this? Is there way to use image capture app in reverse (send to iPhone from mac) ?

You can't just drag the photos or use Image Capture in reverse. I do it using iTunes but there are other methods such as PhotoStream or using a 3rd party app such as http://www.photosync-app.com

I can no longer manually add music to my iPhone from iTunes; what happened?

Recently I have been unable to add new music to my iPhone from iTunes. I used to be able to just select the songs I wanted, then drag and drop them onto to the phone by hovering over the iPhone icon. Now I get a crossed-out circle icon when I try to do this. Why is this happening, and how can I work around it? I'm pretty frustrated, as you can imagine!

I have only synced my iPhone with one computer and its iTunes library. I download music legally to that computer, from mixtape sites, Bandcamp, Amazon and---GASP---other none iTunes sites, load it onto my iPhone, then delete some of it, because I don't listen to music on my computer. I listen to it on a device I purchased to play it. That device is called an iPhone. It's supposed to play mp3s.

But if I am hearing you right, you are telling me the iPhone is literally the only mp3 player in existence that doesn't and shouldn't have the basic functionality to have new mp3s loaded to it from a single authorized computer. That I should be happy now that I cannot load new music onto it, and I should just live with the music that I have already loaded, since I can't load anymore.
And that I should be happy that this basic functionality that, until the most recent software update, I have always had has magically disappeared.
How foolish it was of me to be upset about this! Thank you for showing me the light, Dave.

Can't manually add some podcasts to iphone

I've set my itunes to manually drag/drop podcasts to my 3G iPhone. Recently it's not let me add certain podcasts, without rhyme or reason. For instance, I can add the 8/30 episode of a show, but it won't let me add the 8/29 episode. I'm using my g4 Powerbook using 10.4.11, I think the problem started when I installed the latest iTunes update. This problem continues even after updating my iPhone with the 2.0.1 update.

Yeah, I was having the same problem. I called Apple and the tech guy said it had something to do with iTunes 8. Anyway, if you go to the iPhone summary page in iTunes, then click on the podcasts tab, you can have the podcasts sync automatically. That will at least get the recent ones on there, although it doesn't actually fix the not being able to drag problem. Be warned that it will delete all non-synced podcasts from the iPhone though, so if you've got a bunch of stuff you want to keep, make sure you have copies elsewhere.

If you are on iTunes 11 on your Mac then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders/albums to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

Some photos not syncing from Mac to ipad

I am using iPhoto 11 9.2.1 and iTunes 10.5 and have iPad 2 on iOS 5.1
In iTunes I have selected, sync photos from iPhoto, selected Albums, Events....Events from the last 12 months, Include videos.
Under Albums I have 1 Album checked, Events is Grayed out and only the last 12 months of events are checked. The total picture count is 1276, only about 400 photos are syncing. I upgraded to iOS 5.01 today before doing this sync. Unfortunatly I had not tried to sync these photos prior to the upgrade so not sure if that is a factor.

I had the same issue this morning after the iOS 5.01 upgrade. There was an option to sync photos from a "pictures folder". This worked but the "pictures" folder doesn't have all the organized albums and folders that are in iPhoto. So, working to find a fix for organizing the "pictures" folder since the new iOS doesn't sync from iphoto. Any help on this would be great. I think when I upgraded iPhoto today, the pictures folder may have been created.

You can use these steps if you'd like to sync your iPhone with the photos currently in your iCloud Photo Stream:
If there are any photos in My Photo Stream that you want to keep, save them to your Camera Roll, then back up your Camera Roll and other data using iCloud or iTunes.
Turn My Photo Stream off in Settings > iCloud > Photos (on a device using iOS 6, go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream). Confirm that you wish to Delete Photos.
Turn My Photo Stream back on. iCloud will automatically push your stored photos to your device.
Repeat these steps for each device.

If you are seeing your photos in "Last Import", the photos are somewhere in your library. Perhaps the dates are wrong, and you do not see the photos arranged by date, where you expect them to be.
Select one of the photos on "Last Import", then ctrl-click it and select "Show in Event". That will take you to the event in event view.

No, I do not mean just the music. Copying just the media/music files or the media folder creates problems.

You mean photos that were transferred from the PC to the iPhone? You can't delete them directly on the device, not without erasing everything off the device. You'd have to sync the device with iTunes again, and choose to have no pictures synced.

This was NEVER a problem before iTunes match or the last iOS update. So what is the deal? Why can't i just add music to my phone from the mac? There is space on the phone. The only way I have found to get the music i want to the phone is to have it download from the phone. This is not something i want to have to do: go through and manually add every album and recreate a playlist on the phone when its there on the mac. And, even more irritating, since the new update, when the phone is plugged into the mac i can't actually view from the mac what music is on the phone. This is incredibly frustrating and any help would be much appreciated in managing my music libraries for each device.

You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

I need more space on iPhone 5 to get latest IOS 7 update. If I delete all music that gives me more than enough. Then is it correct music is still on my MAC where I previously synced everything and if I want I'll be able to move some or all songs from MAC

I need more space on my iPhone to update the iOS 7 To do this easily it appears I can delete all my music. That would give more than enough space. After update, will I be able to use sync to put some music back on iPhone? I don't need all my music on iPhone, so earlier did this except for the part restoring some music from MAC to iPhone

Yes. You may not be able to restore all of it, depending on how much storage memory is left after the update. You can make more space on your phone by importing photos and videos to your compluter.

How to Export photos and videos from Mac to iPhone?

I was trying to export a video from my Macbook Pro (Mid 2014) running latest version of OS X to my iPhone 5 (running iOS 8). I have tried everything in iTunes and iPhotos to be able to export Photos and videos to 'Photos' icon in my iPhone, but haven't got success so far. It's easy to do in a windows computer just copy and paste but I don't know how to do it in a Mac...
Could anyone here help me with that??

Is that MacOS X 10.9.5, or have you upgraded to a Beta version?
I have tried everything in iTunes and iPhotos to be able to export Photos and videos to 'Photos' icon in my iPhone, but haven't got success so far.
What are your settings on your iPhone for iCloud? Have you enabled iCloud Drive and iCloud Photo Library?
Then you are out of luck. With these settings, syncing of photos with your iPhone is disabled, so you can no longer sync with iTunes.
And the Photo Stream is behaving buggy and will not sync from your Mac to the iPhone.
Try, if disabling these settings and restarting the iPhone will help.
Otherwise, mail the photos or put them into Dropbox, until you can upgrade to Yosemite and iCloud Photo Library on your Mac.

Photos on Iphone from PC to Mac- not "iphone photos"

I uploaded all of my pictures to my iphone from my PC under the impression that when I opened itunes on my Mac it would give me the option to upload those pictures to my computer.... Does it only allow you to upload pictures taken from iphone or is there a way I can get all those pictures on to the Mac a different way... I no longer have that PC and will be devastated to lose all those pictures otherwise!

There is no way to do this that Apple supports and if you are able to, photos transferred to the iPhone are optimized for viewing on the iPhone. The original resolution of these photos will be lost, which is why Apple doesn't include the option.
