Manually adding music to ipod using itunes ver 7.0.2

i downloaded the latest itunes (7.0.2 i think) and wish too add music to my ipod manually rather than have it sync automatically upon connection.
i unchecked the sync automatically box in ipod options which wiped my ipod clean (for some reason??) however, i can't figure out how to add the music manually. i have it all ready in the library but can't get it on my ipod.
any help?

Connect your iPod and click on it's icon when it appears in the iTunes Source list. This will bring up the Summary tab in the main pane. Check the "manually manage songs and videos" box and click Apply. Once it's in manual mode click on the Music icon in the source list to display your library and drag whetever content you want to the iPod icon: Managing content manually on iPod

Losing Music from iPod using iTunes 7

I upgraded to iTunes 7 and lost all of the music off my iPod twice. All I do is plug it into my computer and I look in the source list to find it devoid of content. Everything missing. I manually update because in the past, I've moved a lot of data onto an external hard drive to make room on my computer. Last night, I moved a lot of it back onto my computer to reload my iPod. Now, I'm not quite sure what to do.
I switch to auto-sync to see if the same thing happens. But if I have it on auto-sync and then switch back to manual will I encounter some sort of problem. Possibly deletion of content, AGAIN? Is anyone else losing the music off their devices with iTunes 7?
I'm a bit frustrated. I try to roll with the punches with these things, but this is annoying and time consuming.

Trying to sync music onto iPod but iTunes 11 keeps crashing

I am trying to sync my entire iTunes library music onto iPod but iTunes 11 keeps crashing (using Windows 8 laptop)
I have tried to do it manually in little chunk and also tried the auto sync method too.
I have restored my ipod to factory setting 12 times now and retry but just when I think I'm getting somewhere iTunes freezes in the middle of the sync and then tell me it "cannot copy because of unknown error (-50)"
From then on my Ipod refuses to accept any more syncing, it may do one and then it freezes again, iTunes says there is an issue with iPod, so I run a scan fix, it is repaired but then iTunes wants me to "restore to factory settings" again, it's a never ending circle, I get it fixed, iTunes crashes and then I have to fix, restore and start all over again just to have the same thing happen all over again
I have read here and there that there seems to be a bug in iTunes 11 when it comes to syncing.
I don't know what else to do, except revert back to iTunes 10 but I don't know how to do that either.
Anyone else had same issue syncing their library over to their iPod and how I fix it?

Try a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause this error. Contact the software manufacturer that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

Any way to transfer music from iPod to iTunes

I had to get new laptop and lost all my music from the iTunes I had on the previous lap top. Is there a way to transfer music from iPod to iTunes ?

Or you can do it the cheap way...
In the options screens, check "Enable Disk Use." Your ipod should then show up in your My Computer as a new drive.
In My Computer, go to TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS...>View [tab] and under "Hidden files and folders," choose to "Show hidden files and folders"
A new folder will pop up in My Computer's Ipod Drive letter called "Control" or something like that. You should be able to dig around in there and find a bunch of mp3s randomly named... Those represent your music files. Drag all the folders that have your music in it to the new computer's harddrive.
Now go into iTunes, "add Folder to Library," Choose the folder that you drug from your iPod and iTunes will import all your music as if nothing happened. Synch it up and it will transfer all this "new music" to your iPod, replacing the old music with the "new" stuff. You'll see... It's like nothing ever happened.
Please note that you'll lose your ratings and playlists... But honestly... Who cares??

Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?
Is this not the computer that the device is normally synced with?

Most likely it would be a hardware problem.
Is iTunes currently up to date on the computer? Try switching USB ports on the Mac if you still have more available.

For the updates you've tried logging out of your account by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then logging back in ?
And for the purchases by 'not letting me buy music' you mean ... ? If you are getting an error message then what does it say ?

any itunes purchased music can be transferred from phone to pc via hitting the "transfer purchases" option when u right click on the phone under devices in itunes on the computer when it is plugged in. any non-itunes purchased music is stuck on the phone and cannot be transferred to the computer. u will have to load it onto the computer from the original source or from the old computer.
