Manually changing DRAM timings

I’m fooling around with the DRAM memory timings in BIOS. My DDR SPD is 3-3-3-8. I’ve changed it in BIOS to 2-3-3-6. Seems to be working ok so far.
CPU-Z shows the cycle time change I made (from 8 to 6), but doesn’t show that I changed the CAS latency from 3 to 2.
Is there a way to confirm the memory timings?
Any timing tips?

Hey guys, from all of the experience, research, and tech support I have invested into this problem (Sean, you are painfully aware of just how much, I know) The CAS is determined by the MOBO based on Slow,Fast,Turbo,Ultra-Turbo. I am not comfortable offering exact "per-setting" numbers, ie. Ultra-Turbo always=2.0, but I do believe it is directly based on SPD. I have had conversations with "The RAM GUY" over at Corsair's official House of Help forum, and he has spent a lot of time (as you might guess) figuring out how each MOBO interacts w/ RAM (all RAM, not just Corsair's, apparently). He told me and many others, that if Fast, Turbo, or Ultra-Turbo is used, then the CAS will not be available for manual configuration. In my experience, even Slow locks the CAS at 2.5, but that may not be universal. Hope this helps. Be well guys!

hi, when i change the dram timings to manual, my system hangs on reboot. all other bios settings are left at default. i have not tried to individual change the timings, i have only changed the memory frequency from 800 to 533. any suggestions?

Sure sounds like a memory problem...
Try manually setting your memory timings to 5-5-5-15 to see if it stablilizes your rebooting..
Also, keep your vDimm (memory voltage) at a reasonable setting like 1.9v
Your E6600 chip @ FSB 333 should be fine at its default voltage, so don't change the vCore (cpu voltage)

K9n2 SLI Platinum DRAM timings will not stay

First off, I would like to say that I am posting this for my friend and that we both love MSI products. His setup is
K9n2 SLI Platinum,
Phenom 9950 140 watt black edition,
2 gigs OCz sli ready 8500 1066 1x2 kit,
BFG 8800 GTS G92 core 512mb graphics card,
and Corsair 650 watt PSU.
I don't at this time of writing have any screens, I can only explain whats going on. When he goes into BIOS and sets the Dram timings to 5.5.5.15 moves the voltage to 2.0, sets the Dram to run at 1066 which I think is 1.2.66, it reads at the top of the BIOS screen 1066. He then saves and exits reboots into windows runs CPU-z and it shows the timings have changed to 5.6.6.16, when he shuts down and goes back to BIOS it has changed there as well to the 5.6.6.16. The BIOS is the most current 3.2 also all the drivers and updates are the most recent for hardware and windows Vista home premium 32 bit. I Am trying to be as specific as possible to help you guys help us. The ram is in Dual channel Unganged. Please note it reads in CPU-z even with the 5.6.6.16 timings 1066 rather 533 DDR2 however the ram supports 5.5.5.15 in timings so I don't think that this could be good for it. We have done Memtest on the ram all test did fine we also used the windows version no errors on both test, We have not used Prime95 yet.
Any help would be great and much appreciated at this point. His computer has crashed twice, once was the Blue screen of death and the other was just a lockup. I also should mention CPU, mobo temps I think are well within specs CPU idle 37c load 45c graphics card at idle 40c load 46c. Thank you for reading Shucky.

No performace lost, instead higher efficiency like you noticed.
Think of it like this:
A pipe with a big diameter can transport a lot of fluid.
A pipe with high pressure, where things have a high speed, can transport a lot of fluid.
A pipe where the diameter is not the same in both ends. Well, you can't say how much fluid will come out the other end, at least not without a lot of calculating and testing. (Like you also noticed. :D )
What is a pity is that program(mer)s have difficulties making use of all the cores. Phenom have four true cores. I think it will take about two years until all four can be put to full use, but if there ever is any real use in using all four cores is hard to say and a different question.

And it isn't easy: Think of the project your work group got from your chief or teacher: How many should be involved? Or if you are 300 people in your dorm, or even just four of you in your family, should all help out with the washing up after supper?
No, is the best answer to that. So what has begun is developing processors, with a variety of cores. One may - as a silly example - make icons until or unless it can do better work somewhere else. - Not an easy thing making it do tasks like that, either! So that is why I did the washing up just now.

K9A2 CF DRAM Timings

Having a little trouble getting me RAM timings set right.
Installed CPU is a Phenom X4 940 Black edition.
FSB is at default (200). Nothing is overclocked (yet).
I have this memory, supposedly 5-5-5-15 @ 1066.
I've set my RAM Frequency ratio to 1:2.66, which puts it at 1066MHz.
If I leave DRAM timings on Auto, it's set to 7-7-7-20 according to CPUID.
If I enable manual settings, and specify 5-5-5-15 then boot into windows, it's actually set to 5-5-5-29.
Same result no matter which DCT setting I use:

How to restrict manual changing of free goods in sales order

As per SAP Standard, when the main Item quantity is changed, the Free Goods are redetermined. In this case any manual changes to Free Goods Quantities are lost.
But your requirement is for restricting the Chages of the Quantity of Free Goods Correct?
I believe there is no SAP standard solution for this. You will have to apply a User Exit, which will check the Item category of each LIne item & if it is free goods (TANN) then changes are not permitted.

Hi Sunil,
It is possible through configuration better you can post in sd forums.
For the condition type settings , ensure that the manual entries is 'D'. it wont allow any changes in the order.

Should be a selection on the field KONV-KMPRS.

In the Sales Order,Select Environment and then Changes to See all Changes made.
Follow the Same procdure for Invoice also.
There is no Standard report as such to see the changes.

Federal court website gives a .pl document which opens as garbage until we manually change it to .pdf, is there any way to get Firefox to do this automatically?

I am using a Mac. When downloading a document from the federal court website using Firefox, we get a .pl document which opens as garbage (in TextEdit) until we manually change it to .pdf, which causes it to open just fine (in Preview). It used to work fine, giving a .pdf document every time, but apparently upgrades to Firefox have removed this functionality. As far as I can tell my computer, an iMac running Mac system OS X 10.10.1, does not recognize the .pl format. Is there any way to get Firefox to automatically convert a downloaded file from .pl format to .pdf format? My friend tells me that Google Chrome downloads these documents with no problem. I would prefer to stick with Firefox but I might have to change if every downloaded document is in an unreadable format.

How can I manually change the height of the "Type ...

Just got automatically installed the latest 6.22 version of skype few minutes ago and I got a few questions.
First and foremost, how can I MANUALLY change the height of the textbox, where I type the messages. I would like to make it larger, like in the previous versions of skype. I don't want to move my mouse cursor through the entire monitor to reach this tiny textbox.
And second, why you guys are trying constanly to ruin something that is working perfectly ? Going to revert to the previous version until you fix all these nuisances.

There is no way to do this, it is designed to be strictly landscape with keyboard, portrait without - not the best thought-out phone on the market, mainly geared towards compulsive texters and e-mailers.
There's no way to know whetherNokia will change this with any future updates, perhaps you should make the recommendation to them directly using the 'contact us' link.

Since upgrading Iphone to iOS 5.1.1 it does not automatically use wifi internet when wifi is available. It has been draining my mobile data. I can only manually change settings with cellular data everytime I get home. Any other solutions?

Since upgrading Iphone to iOS 5.1.1 it does not automatically divert to my wi-fi internet when wifi is available in my home. It has been draining my mobile data I now have very high bills from my mobile carrier for high data usage. I can only manually change settings in the Network and turn cellular data on and off everytime I get home and leave the home. This is very frustrating as it wasn't a problem until the upgrade. I have spoken to a few people that this has happened to. Has anyone found this problem and does anyone have other solutions?

Manually changing a document version number when importing an existing document

Hello.
Like a lot of people, we are starting to make use of Sharepoint Online as part of an Office 365 subscription.
One of the things we want to do is move a bunch of version controlled documents from their current location on a traditional network file share into a Sharepoint Document library, and then use approval and version history to control and track changes.
At the moment these are stored with the version number as part of the file name, so we have something like "Company car policy - version 6.docx". When there's a new version, the old one is moved to an archive folder and a new copy is saved as "Version
7.docx" which is outdated and far from ideal.
I've created my library, tested that approvals work, and have found instructions on how to use a workflow to notify people that changes have been made. That's all fine, but if I upload an existing document into the library it will start the version number
at 0.1 or 1.0 depending on whether I add it as a draft or final.
What I need to be able to do is to manually change the version number to match our existing system without having someone sit there checking a document in and out. Some of them have version numbers in the 20s so this would be a huge waste of time.
I can't believe I'm the first person to have this problem - can anyone help me please?

You are not the only one, that is for sure!
The only way (that I'm aware of and is easy to accomplish) to achieve this is the following:
* Upload your history v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6. And then it is really in sync with your current / old version numbers.
* just upload the new / latest file and check out/check in the file x times so the version number will increase every check in.
I know that this sounds weird/funny time consuming. Without 3th party tooling I don't see any other solution.
With 3th party tooling then you can perform those actions (basicaly the same actions) more quick and easy, however you need to get yourself comfortable which such tooling. One of the tools (no I'm not a sales agent or whatsover) that I know can perform metadata
changes is ShareGate. However in PowerShell you can perform also a lot of magic and without ad doubt there are a lot of migrating tools (AvePoint, Tzunami, etc) that can also "mimick" those manual steps.
My best suggestion is:
* If you need to keep the old versions upload them all one by one (if it is not too time consuming)
Otherwise
* create a archive for old versions and start in SharePoint with version 1 which is exactly the same as the latest non-SharePoint version and store that archive in a separate document library/folder/site. (only keep old versions if there is a reall need
/business case or legal case to do that.)

Unable to manually change the amount for condition type PB00

Hi Gurus,
My client is using ECC5.0.
Here when I try to change the amount for condition type PB00 using transaction ME22N, I am not able to change the value. I donu2019t get any error, but as soon as I change the value and press Enter the system replaces my entered value with the original value.
Confusing part is that I am able to change the amount of condition price PB00 manually using transaction ME22. I donu2019t have any such problems there.
Also I am able to manually change the amount of condition type PBXX using ME22N.
Only in the case of PB00, if I use ME22N to manually update the amount I am not able to change it.
Kindly help me, to find a reason as to why this could be happening, and correcting if possible?

Hello Imram,
The purpose of maintaining 2 condition types ie PB00 and PBXX in a pricing procedure is that PB00 is automatic gross price determination and PBXX is manually giving gross price.
If you go to T.Code : M/06 and check the condition types, you can see that PB00 will be having an access sequence but not PBXX.
So if you have to manually give the gross price, you have to use PBXX.

How to manually change the thumbnail images of the new tab page (without using addons)?

I wanted to customize the images displayed on the thumbnails on the New Tab Page. I tried using the addon "New Tab Tools" to do so and it worked, for a while. Now a bug seems to have affected it (it is not displaying any thumbnails, so I uninstalled it). So I want to try another approach. I want to MANUALLY change the images for each of the thumbnail on the new tab page (of course, the thumbnails are 'pinned').
(I read some other articles related to thumbnails, specifically about DELETING them, and it asked me to open the Firefox Profile Folder, and in there, delete the thumbnails folder. I thought I could simply change the images stored in it instead of deleting them, but there is NO thumbnails folder in the Firefox profile folder (I accessed the profile folder thru the troubleshooting information section in the help menu). So where is this thumbnails folder after all?)
So, how can I do it?

Possible to manually change apn in iOS 4

Here in Italy we have a "nice" thing called Mobile Virtual Carrier...
So I have a SIM by a Virtual Carrier (Fastweb) that actually uses the network provided by a Real One (H3G).
I would like to use this SIM on my iPhone 3G, that I updated to iOS 4 and be able to use the data network, but the config defaults to the H3G apn, giving me an error, because I have not a contract with them...
The virtual carrier confirmed this is a problem on iphone where I cannot manually change apn to point to their one...
In the mean time they solve their inefficiency... any way to to this on iOS 4?
or do I have to come backk to my E61i... ;-(

God, this is annoying. I tried the workaround suggested to turn off cellular data and wi-fi. This almost solved the problem. But I quickly discovered that it didn't work quite the way I expected it to. I turned off data and wi-fi and went to take a nap. I was awoken by a reminder (apparently, those are activated by the iPhone, rather than pushed by the cloud). And then, when I re-enabled cellular data and wi-fi, I received an iMessage from my wife that she had sent a few minutes earlier. I had read elsewhere that SMS/MMS would go through even if data and wi-fi were turned off, but apparently that's not the case with iMessages (if someone else has experience with this, please confirm). In iOS 4, I could turn off notifications with the click of a button, in which case I would be awoken by text messages and unbothered by calendar reminders, which is exactly what I wanted. Now all I've got is a clumsy workaround that gives me the opposite result.
I read that if you plug something into the headphone jack, you'll only hear the iPhone speaker if the phone rings. I'd be interested to know whether you hear the speaker when an SMS/MMS/iMessage arrives as well (which is what I want), and in no other circumstances. Maybe I'll experiment with this after I finish my nap. If someone else knows whether this is an effective workaround, please post here.
And if anyone knows of a better workaround, please post that as well.
