Manually installing FP 11.7 on Mac OS 10.6.8-uninstall old?

I know the option exists to use the built in updater in system preferences.
But in cases you have multiple macs to update, it's sometimes easier to just download the updater, put it onto a thumb drive, and then manually install in each mac. My question is this:
Do I need to first untinstall the previous version via the uninstaller app in the utilities folder before installing the new version? Or can I just run the new installer without deleting the old one. NOTE: the "old" one in this case is usually just the previous version of Flash Player released.

Usually the installer should automatically uninstall any previous versions. However there are sometimes circumstances where the old player does not get fully uninstalled. But I would still try using the installer alone.

iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat (Until the 30th June 2014)
As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
(If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You need a USB drive to install the Windows support software. It contains all the drivers that your MacBook Pro needs, and you will have to install them after finishing the Windows installation. If you don't install them, a lot of things won't work: the wireless card, the sound card, the brightness, the trackpad gestures... Apart from that, you don't need it for anything else.

How can I do a manual install of ACR 7.4 in 64-bit Win 7 PSE 11?

I found detailed instructions on this forum that I think were for 32-bit Win 7 but I'm hoping 64-bit install is different since I followed them and still no success. I know that 8.1 is supposed to be able to be manually installed and that would be ok too but I really only need to go from 7.1 to 7.4 and the update function is greyed out. I started with a trial version on that machine so maybe that has something to do with it? It is registered and activated. Tried to uninstall/re-install and still no luck(didn't check the "de-activate" though so maybe I need to try again and choose this?
Not afraid to try a manual install if it is in fact different.

I have the PSE 11 on a Mac platform also and was able to update it no problem...can't get the Win 7 to work for the life of me.

There is one more thing you should install and those are the camera raw profiles for 8.1
Download the 8.1 DNG Converter and run the installer to install the camera raw profiles.
(those profiles would normally be installed if the updater in your pse 11 was working)

Properly installing Windows XP on a mac mini

Ok so I have a late 2009 mac mini ($599) model. I've been using windows xp on it without any major issues and I play some games and everything seems to work decently enough.
Now I'm going to have to change the size of the partition and reinstall windows xp using NTFS (been using FAT32 thus far).
What I need help with is that I've decided not to use the stock bootcamp drivers that come with the leopard cd for 2 reasons
1- It installs a bunch of drivers for macbook and other models (?) that are useless for me and just take up space (on a 147G hard drive that was supposed to be 160G every MB counts)
2- With the NVIDIA geforce 9400 driver I get much better perfomance in games using the updated one from the nvidia site than the one from the leopard cd.
what I need help with is identifying stuff like chipsets and sound card etc etc to know how to look for the drivers and then manually installing them.
So I need help compiling this list:

You can, but it's not recommended. If you are going to use Windows all the time, at least give some GBs to OS X, because you will need it to install firmware updates.
Use Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition. You can find it in /Applications/Utilities. Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to download the Windows support software onto a USB drive. You will need to install it in Windows, so it's very important to download it. If not, you will have problems in Windows.

You have some other problem with your boot drive that has corrupted data backed up to the TimeMacine drive.
My advice is to boot into each operating system and manually backup just your Users files each to separate regular external drives (no Timemachine or backup software) and disconnect.
Make a note of any serial numbers, emails, address book contacts, export bookmarks etc. that isn't typically in your users folders data.
You might be able to Winclone 3 the Windows as a whole thing as it's appearing not to have issues but it's your MacintoshHD partition that is so that will have to be rebuilt from scratch.
Most commonly used backup methods
If your OS X parititon doesn't boot, you can use this to recover files.
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
Without any further detail about your machine I can't advise specifically what to do, but it involves using Disk Utility to Zero Erase (move slider one spot to the right or in 10.6 using Security Option) the ENTIRE boot drive and reformatting, then installing OSX fresh and then setting up BootCamp again.
If you wish to switch your boot drive for something better, this is a good time to do this.
Install/upgrade RAM or storage drive in Mac's
If your machine is capable of Internet Recovery, then use that, then upgrade.
If your machine came with 10.6 or earlier, then use the 10.6 install disks and work up from there.

I have been a customer with Novell for a long time on the small business suite
Now I have a question regarding the media files nowadays;
In my account's download section I see the smallbusiness suite as a
DVD to download, but can I download the products separate DVD/CD's ?
This is because I would like to install them separately as Kevin Boyle suggests in various post here.
I have moved to Linux 2 years ago, but now virtualizing my install on a MAC server and at the same time moving to 64 bit.
The main products are Groupwise and iFolder, so I would just need the separate media files for SLES 11 64 bit/ OES 2/ Groupwise to be able to install and move over the current groupwise install to the new virtualized SLES.
Is there some reason why I cannot find the separate mediafiles for those products ?

What you see in the Novell Customer Center are the products you have "purchased" from Novell. You may also find additional products to which you may be entitled. For example, a customer who had maintenance on NOWS SBE 2.0 one day found GroupWise 8 in his Customer Center account.
Novell has said that the NOWS SBE EULA entitles customers to the component products and those products can be manually installed. That is not how they expected this product to be deployed so don't expect to see all the component products available in the Customer Center.
When you do a manual install, you want to use the media from the full product and if you have maintenance on NOWS SBE, you would want to use the the latest version of each product. At the moment I can think of a few places where the media might be available:

Go to the product web page and "Download Eval". This may not be available to you if you have previously download an eveluation as I believe Novell allows only one eval per user (email address).
If you have a Novell software subscription, that is another source.
You raise an interesting point Dominicus. If we are permitted to manually install the component products we need access to the media. While we may be able to obtain the media from the sources I have mentioned, if we are entitled to it, it should be available in the Customer Center.
Perhaps you could contact the Novell Customer Center and ask them to add the component products to your account? I would be interested in hearing about your experience. You can only use the App Store version to reinstall on your new Mac if you bought Logic via the App Store in the first place.... and then it will appear under the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store App so long as you are signed in using the same Apple ID you used to purchase Logic via the App store in the first place.
If you bought the DVD edition of Logic Studio then you must initially install using those original DVDs to begin with and then update to the latest version of your version of Logic via software updates.
No DVD drive? Buy an external one.. Amazon do a very cheap basic one that works well..

Use Remote Disk if you still have your older Mac which has a built in DVD drive...

Assuming you've done a system wide search for it including the Applications folder and it's not there......
I think you will need to address this with them - did you pay them for the application? Or was your purchase price to include it? And the question(s) to ask them:
If the app store states that it has been downloaded, ask them where it is and which Apple ID they used. (the store keeps track of Apple IDs and machine IDs on everything you download).
I have absolutely no faith in their advice; however, in this case, it's not so much technical advice, but an answer to your questions: you paid for something and it appears not to be there.

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

Open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and in the Quick Links sign into your account. See if the Mountain Lion purchase is among hidden apps in the iCloud area of your account info.
