Manually removed LR 5.7.x (CC)

After installing Lightroom CC 6, I manually removed Lightroom 5.7.x (CC) by moving the application to the trash, because I did not realize that it was still listed in the Creative Cloud-application. Could this cause problems? After a reboot, the entry was gone from the list of installed apps and everything seems to run fine. (I am running Mac OS X 10.10.3.)

For the second problem being that the catalog is open in another application, go to the folder containing your catalog. You will find a file with the .lock extension. This is a file created by the catalog, and is automatically deleted when the catalog closes normally. Sometimes it can get left behind. You need to delete that file.
When Lightroom says that the file cannot be read, it usually means that it cannot be written to the chosen destination. This tends to be a permissions problem in your operating system. Check to make sure you have write permission for the folder you are trying to import your images to.

  • How do I Manually remove CD when iMac won't boot?

Last night I downloaded several updates. Suddenly my Intel iMac 20 no longer boots up past the grey screen of death. A CD is stuck in the drive so I can't use my Install disk. None of the key commands on boot up work so I can't eject. Tech support had me repeat the steps without any luck. Next step is going to a shop.
Does anyone know how to manually remove a CD from an iMac drive? Any paper clip type trick with these? If I could do that I could try the install disk on boot up.
    Thanks,

Yes there is, Google to disassemble iMac, in my case" iMac 24" intel core duo" and you'll see more then one explanation, also with movie, but you'll need some torx tools. And be careful with disassembling the optical drive, to remove the plastic holder it's a bit tricky. Anyway good luck, but there is also a solutions at:< <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://www.macyourself.com/2009/05/01/the-ultimate-guide-to-ejec ting-a-stuck-disc-from-mac-superdrive/> look at it BEFORE disassembling your MAC

  • How to manually remove Flash?

Is there a way to manually remove every part of Adobe Flash from OSX so that I can reinstall? I have posted the following on Adobe's forums but haven't managed to get a single reply!
Flash is crashing when I try playing video in Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome.
Chrome says that I have two almost identical versions of flash installed.
I have downloaded the uninstaller - it completes and says it has uninstalled, but does absolutely nothing.
Installing new versions does nothing either, I have rebooted in between etc but nothing. I've even tried removing the browsers and reinstalling.

Ok, getting some where, if not further
Finally found the plug-in, in Chrome's package contents (by right-clicking Chrome in finder and clicking 'show package contents').
Firefox and Safari must have been sharing it somehow, as removing this stopped flash working in them also!!
Have now removed Chrome & Firefox altogether. Re-ran flash uninstaller. Yay! No flash! Rebooted, installed Flash. First use - crashed!! Closed and reopened Safari - second run, video stuttering.
I know Mr Jobs doesn't want us to have Flash anyway, but I need it for some sites and this is really doing my head in :/

  • How do I manually remove CD from flat screen i-mac

Disc is not showing up on the screen and cannot eject it - have tried all keyboard/eject combos. Reset PRAM, tried eject prompt in terminal - Superdrive appears to be dead. Any suggestion to manually remove the disc? I need to retrieve data on it.

    Hi,
Have had same basic problem. Here's how I got the disk out. Go to Application Folder and open Utilities Folder. Then open Disk Utilities. On the left of the screen you'll see a list of your drives including the DVD drive with the disk that is in it. Highlight the disk and click on the eject button at the top of the screen. The disk should come out if the drive has not failed. Good luck. This is a real pain but this worked for me. It's simple once you do it.

  • Manual removal of iMovie - then can't reinstall

Needing to make more room on the main drive I manually removed iMovieHD. Wanting to reinstall it i could see no way except to reinstall the whole OSX Tiger. But iMovie did not re-appear !! Was it because it wasn't there at re-install time so it only installed apps that were previously there. HELP

    You are contradicting yourself:
Wanting to reinstall it i could see no way except to reinstall the whole OSX Tiger. But iMovie did not re-appear !
If you had lost the disks you could not have reinstalled Tiger. Moreover, if you have lost the disks Apple will replace them for you, possibly for a small charge.

  • Re-install CSA after manual removal

My client sent Microsoft's Hive Clean Tool out via SMS and one of the install settings from it caused CSA on all the remote laptops that received it to go into full lockdown mode.
Thankfully it was only a pilot that 650 users received, but the only way to fix them was to fedex them all a CD that ran a manual removal of CSA using the steps from Cisco.
Now that they are all back online, we'd like to re-install CSA. When running the original agent kit that installed it, we get a message 'unable to start CSAControl Service'. The service was removed during the manual removal, but is not installed again as a service during the install.
Platform is XP Tablet. CSA is v. 4.03. We are running the install as an admin. Does anyone have any ideas on getting it to re-install successfully?
    Thanks.

Where can I get clear evidence of the supported platforms for 4.03? This could be a good reason to go ahead and upgrade all 9,000 tablets in the field.
Yes on the reboot question. We also have found that we can install 4.0 successfully. We'll see if we can get our hands on a 4.5 agent kit.
Does anyone know how to totally erase all evidence that CSA was installed on a client? The manual removal was deleting registry keys and some DLLs, but that was not a total uninstall.
    Thanks.

Started the process of manually removing Adobe Reader because Windows wouldn't remove it because of an error message. Got to the point of deleting files in dos when I was told access was denied. Why? Followed every step to that point.

  • Manual removal of failed resource

I have a failed Hyper-V role in my HA cluster that I cannot remove.  The role shows in the cluster but any operation (including remove) fails with null pointer errors.  If I look at Hyper-V on the node that is supposed to be running that role,
    no VM exists.
I tried remove-clusterresource, but PowerShell gives the same null pointer error.
I've moved all the other roles off that node, since it was constantly failing them over, but now I've got to get this role out of my cluster somehow so that I can start moving other machines back onto the none.  I don't even care about retaining the
    data in the VM.
Is there any supported way to manually remove a VM role when none of the GUI tools or PowerShell work?

  • Manually remove Premiere Elements 11

I have a Windows 7 PC and Office 2007 Home Premium with Adobe CS6 and Premiere Elements installed.  I recently upgraded to an SSD and Elements didn't take well to it.  I wanted to uninstall it and then do a clean install onto the new SSD.  When I try do remove  it, though, I get a 1316 error message that "Adobe Premiere Elements.msi" is missing.  Interestingly, I searched for this on both of my drives and couln't find it, then went to my mirror back-up from before the SSD install and couldn't find it there either!
It seems the best solution is to manually remove the folders and files, although I don't know what or where they are.  I did find a list of PSE 8 files and folders, but was concerned about going back three revisions.
I would like a list of the files and folders used by Premiere Elements 11.  Also, are all of the "Media, People, Places, Events", etc. in Elements safely saved with the photos?  I definitely wouldn't want to loose all that information!

  • How to manually remove artwork in iTunes 12.0.1?

    Hi,
I want to remove the artwork from an album. In the previous versions of iTunes, one could simply go to the info page and click the artwork check box and the artwork would be removed. In iTunes 12.0.1 there is not this option. Even if you try to right click on the songs and select "Clear Artwork" it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know how to manually remove artwork in this version of iTunes?
    Thanks so much,

The iTunes 12 Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions.
    Delete Artwork
On the artwork tab of Get Into, tap the image in question, use Backspace or Ctrl+X. Delete doesn't work.
Or, tap the image at the top left of Get Info, this time use Backspace or Delete, it is Ctrl+X that doesn't work.
    Add Artwork
Select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the center of the Artwork tab, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, select artwork, press Ctrl+C to copy, tap the small image area at the top left, press Ctrl+V to paste.
Or, you can drag & drop to, or sometimes from, the same locations.
You can also copy artwork from the Get Info dialog to Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcuts.
If the source image is on a web page right-click and use Copy Image rather than copy. (With Chrome I get a one pixel wraparound so tend to go for a temporary local copy anyway - not sure whose bug this is, but it isn't new.)
If you have multiple images embedded drag the one you want to be the primary artwork to the leftmost position.
    Replace/Remove All Artwork
The top left image box can be used to add or delete art from multiple tracks. In either case all existing artwork in all tracks is replaced/removed.
    Old Style Get Info Dialog
Select some items, right-click, hold down shift, then click Get Info from the context menu. (Use alt/option on a Mac)

  • Access denied while manually removing reader 8.x

While following the instructions for manually removing Adobe Reader 8.x as posted here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/400/kb400769.html
when I try to delete AcroIEHelper.dll, AcroPDF.dll, and pdfshell.dll as per the instructions, I get "Access denied".
I am running XP SP3, logged on under administrator, running in diagnostic mode, and explorer.exe has been terminated.  I have also tried deleting these in safe mode under the same conditions.
I'm not sure what has these locked.  Any suggestions as to what I should try?
    Thanks.

    Mike,
Thank you for responding!  I tried running that on a testbed/sandbox machine to test it out before using this fix on a live machine, and it resulted in me NOT being able to reinstall any Adobe Reader, any version, at all.  When I tried to reinstall 8.1.x or 9.x, the download manager just reported that it was "unable to install" with not much else to go on.
It also left the Adobe Reader add-on installed in Firefox, and there was no way to uninstall it.
I'd love to try using the MS Installer Clean-up tool if I could understand exactly how I should proceed with it - exactly what steps I need to take.
Can you help me here?  Again, I appreciate your response and look forward to getting this problem behind me!
    Thanks!

  • Need Help Manually Removing PSE 5.0.2

PSE 5.0.2 was working fine a few weeks ago. Then after several Vista updates I tried to it run it again last night. The organizer ran fine but both the quick and full editors froze. So I decided to re-install it.
When I initially installed PSE 5.0.2 on Vista it never showed up in the Control Panel program list. So I followed the KB article on manually removing 5.0. Unfortunately that article doesn't specify how to remove the patch. PSE 5.0 installed fine but when I try to reinstall the 5.0.2 patch it says it's already installed.
Does anyone know how to remove the patch?

Can't help you exactly, since I never "manually" uninstalled any program.
You can clean up the registry with the Microsoft tool called Windows Installer Cleanup Utility at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Use at your own risk! Read the instructions carefully!
Next time you have problems with the PSE editor freezing, try deleting the Editor preferences, that fixes a whole host of problems.

  • Manual Removal of Office 2010 during Unattended 2013 install

As I'm sure it has been discussed many times before, the Office 2013 OCT deployment does a horrible job removing all Office 2010 components properly.  Even with the option to "remove previous versions of Office before installing" selected,
there will still be pieces of Office 2010 lingering behind.  It has been reported to me by our support department that this can randomly cause issues with Office 2013.
In these cases, our support group must manually remove the Office 2010 remnants and run a manual repair of Office 2013. Not ideal on 1000 systems.
To bypass all of this mess, I've attempted to add a command line via the Office Config Tool to remove Office 2010 as well as Lync 2010.  I have configured OCT to Run a batch file
before installing Office2013 via the "Add installations and run programs" area.  The batch file has 2 lines.
    \\<server>\<share>\Office2010\Install\setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config \\<server>\<share>\silentuninstall.xml
    \\<server>\<share>\Lync2010\LyncSetup.exe /silent /uninstall
Nothing too fancy here.  Note that this batch file works as intended if I manually run it from command line on a workstation. So, I know that all of these commands are good.  Also note, the sms installer account has access to the server and
    shares specified in my commands.
This seems like it should be such an easy thing for OCT to pull off, but it just blows right by my batch file as if it doesn't exist. Am I missing something here?  What can I do in OCT to ensure that it doesn't ignore this command?
    Thanks,
    David

I've seen this sort of query quite a few times over the past few months. The Office 2013 OCT tool does a fairly poor job removing previous Office versions.
Your uninstall argument is probably failing because your referencing an xml file that resides on a server file share. Config Manager will execute your argument using the system account so its probably a permissions based issue. You can test this by running
your uninstall argument using psexec which replicates this behavior.
I've approached this issue in a different way - you may wish to look at this option instead?
Microsoft have written some Office scrub vb script files to address the issue:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2011/04/08/how-to-obtain-and-use-offscrub-to-automate-the-uninstallation-of-office-products.aspx
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2011/04/06/how-to-perform-an-uninstall-upgrade-to-office-2010.aspx
    http://marckean.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/fully-automate-removal-of-any-version-office-in-preparation-for-office-365/
You could  use a batch file wrapper as your Office 2013 Configuration Manager install command – something like this would work:
    @echo off
    SET INSTALL=%~dp0
    :Remove Microsoft Office 2010 Suites
    Cscript “%INSTALL%\OffScrub10.vbs” ALL /Quiet /NoCancel
    :Install Microsoft Office 2013 Professional
    Setup.exe
    ping 127.0.0.1 -n 5 > nul
Has worked well for me. Note that you would need to add an additional line to remove Lync 2010 - probably something like msiexec /x {YourLync2010GUID} /q would be best.
    Cheers
    Damon
