Manually Removing Boot Camp Software From Vista?

Hello!
I accidentally deployed Boot Camp to the wrong machine, installing it onto a desktop PC instead of a Mac running Windows. The machine is running Vista Home Premium SP1. Now when I try to uninstall it it won't uninstall. I was able to uninstall the drivers, but I can't get Boot Camp Services to remove. I was able to delete the Boot Camp folder from Program files to remove the taskbar app, but the Boot Camp Control Panel is still installed, as well as it's still showing up in add/remove programs.
Does anyone know what registry key I need to delete in order to remove the entry in add/remove programs, & where is the control panel file located so I can delete it? If I manually delete these two things, Boot Camp will successfully be uninstalled from this machine.
I know I made an ignoramis mistake, & wish I would have double-checked the machine before deployment.
Thanks!

FIXED IT! After inserting my OS X CD, finagling around in Windows Update & Add/Remove Programs, IT'S GONE! All fixed now!
Now I just need to watch my deployment much more carefully.

  • Boot camp Software in vista x64

I am running vista x64 on a 1.1 Mac Pro. The OS runs just fine but I would like to have all of the boot camp software running. Is there anyway to do this?

If you have 10.5.6 DVD, you can install some non Apple Boot Camp drivers. You actually need the set that came with the 2008 Mac Pros.
OSSwitcher and TimeServices are the only real items I can think of you would not have.
Or wait for Windows 7 - you can download it today - and hope.

  • Removing Boot Camp Components from Windows 7

Hi. I just got an Apple Keyboard with Numberpad. To make it fully work on my PC with Windows 7, I had to install Boot camp (I used my copy of OS X Snow Leopard). Once boot camp was installed, the media keys and volume keys started working perfectly as they would on a Mac, and the volume HUD also started displaying when I change the volume (looks good). But Boot camp also installed a bunch of other stuff, including drivers that I do not need, like iSight driver, bliuetooth, etc. It also replaced some of my own drivers, but that's not an issue yet. The question is, how can I remove boot camp assistant and its components that are useless to me? What to remove, and what not to remove? I just want full functionality of the keyboard, as I have it right now...
    Thanks in advance.

Try restore to earlier would undo everything.
I'd go ahead and uninstall Boot Camp for sure.
    Then Device Manager
You don't want Apple serivces and startup items - though Apple TimeServices checks the clock on every boot up.
MSCONFIG to disable any startupitem and services being loaded. But there should / might be one for keyboard.
From your OS X DVD, copy the contents to a folder on Windows and then look for kbmgr and move (copy and paste) to a new folder.  You don't need any of the other things for motherboard, network, etc that you can rollback or uninstall in Device Manager.
Pick up Paragon Hard Drive Manager 2011 for an easy disk to disk OS clone for backup - you can boot from either hard drive w/o problem, just change the cable or the BIOS boot device.
    Hard Disk Manager Suite 2011
I'm surprised that if Apple sells their keybaord for PCs that they don't include just a device driver, or that Windows didn't pick up on what to install automatically.

  • HT1461 how to remove boot camp assistant from mac os x

    Please help me with this.
From an Internet advertising, I got an annoying "Boot Camp Assistant" application on my screen. It itvites me to install Windows or support software for Windows, etc, with three checkboxes. I am not interested in any and would like to quit from the red dot button, but that is dimmed. The program only lets mo go forward and choose on of the options. How can I get rid of this annoyance?
    Thanks,
    Constantin

This was on the Mac side, before losding Boot Camp. I solved the problem when I discovered the three-key combination for force quit.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Kernal Panic after Boot Camp Software update

Hey all here is my dilemma,
    I have a MBP 15' 2.66GHZ i7 8GB Ram etc...
Few days ago my internal drive would not boot; So I went to the apple store and they 'determined' that it was the logic board through a very sketchy process of elimination. In the end my logic board was replaced.
On the next day I decide to finally set up boot camp (Big Mistake). Everything goes fine up until I decide to download - Boot Camp Software Update 3.2 for Windows 64 bit. After installation I was prompted to restart my computer after which it booted into Mac and Kernel panic ensued along with the gray screen.
Windows partition works fine, I was unable to boot from CD, tried PRAM reset, Could not safe boot. Target Disk mode formatting the hard disk and then reinstalling Mac OS was successful in reinstalling the OS, but it still does not boot.
Now I am stuck with Windows 7 working and Mac not booting stuck at apple no spinning wheel.
Please help, I really do not know what do to.

  • Can I install Boot Camp 5 from Win 8?

I have a late 2011 Mac Pro tower running Windows 8 and Boot Camp 4. I have had Windows 8 ever since it came out, that means that I upgraded to Windows 8 with the last version of Boot Camp 4 (with no issues BTW). Now there is Boot Camp 5,  and I want to upgrade my Mac Pro to Boot Camp 5, but the installer of version 5 tells me that I need Windows 7 to install Boot Camp 5. I already have installed Windows 8.
How can I upgrade to Boot Camp 5 from Windows 8 in my Mac Pro without going back to Win 7 or by formatting my drive?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!!!

    Thank youn for the reply...

  • Missing Mac OS X Lion Boot Camp Software drivers

    Dear Community,
Having just completed a smooth installation of Windows 7 on my 2011 Macbook Pro, I was quite surprised to see that the wireless and ethernet connections didn't work. The computer did not even find any possible connections and I'm missing Wireless Adaptor or any such sort of devices in the device manager.
Now, my first bet is that I'm missing a driver installation. So after having looked on the internet for some guidance on where to get the drivers, it comes down to me using the installation DVD that's included in the package in which the mac came. But no such DVD came with the package, since Apple has decided not to ship physical DVDs anymore.
So my question is, how do I get these drivers?
I see under //support.apple.com/kb/HT4818#12 that the Atheros 802.11 Wireless, Broadcom Wireless and Marvel Yukon Ethernet are all drivers included in the Mac OS X Lion Boot Camp Software, but then why don't I have them then?
Many thanks for the, hopeful, fine answers!
    Best regards,
    Tim

But everything else got installed and hardware abstraction, Boot Camp control panel and other drivers and services are now present and running?
surprised to see that the wireless and ethernet connections didn't work. The computer did not even find any possible connections and I'm missing Wireless Adaptor or any such sort of devices in the device manager.
Usually you need to establish a wired connection.
And it is a problem for some, definitely.
Boot Camp 4.01 or later will enable those devices but you may still need to find appropriate drivers too. I don't know why but audio and graphics are also issues that the user needs to attend to and is not 'spelled out' that you will need those as well.

  • Can i "copy" a 200 GB boot camp partition from Mac Pro to MBP?

i spent a lot of time working with virtual machines and i have decided i simply have to increase the size of my mac pro HD and put a boot camp partition in it.
can i COPY a 200 GB windows 7 boot camp partition from my 1 TB Mac Pro drive to a 200 GB partition on my MBP that will have a 500 GB drive?
this would let me focus on doing a full install and full setup on the Mac Pro and just copy this over to the MBP (when i get the new drive) saving me a ton o time.
    TIA
Also, is this something for WinClone?

    hi kappy. THANK YOU.
is it possible that you or anyone has actually done this machine to machine and partition to partition?
i want to avoid a situation where i try to do this only to find it works better or is much simplyer to the the fresh install on the MacBook Pro just fresh.

  • Where is "Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 for Windows 64 bit"?

Where is "Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 for Windows 64 bit"??

Did you try just 3.2 update?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL979
I find this "you need 3.0 first" then have to install year old 3.1, and only then can you install 3.2? what kind of Windows motherboard support is that?
And, you already have 3.0 installed off a 10.6 OS X DVD, and have you tried to use Apple Software Update (Windows obviously)? though I think the standalone updates are better and less trouble or problems. Download and keep them handy in case ever needed in the future too.

  • Slow boot up after removing boot camp

I removed boot camp aftering realizing that I barely use it and hoping that the boot up time would be as quick as when I bought my mac a year ago. However, the boot up time is just as slow even after removing boot camp. I have gone into system preferences and chosen mac ox as the primary disk but nothing happens. Please help!

Check the setting in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.

  • How can I get MagicTrackpad to work with Boot Camp and Windows Vista?

Just installed Lion and then installed Magic Trackpad. Now I need to know how to get the Magic Tackpad to work with Windows Vista in my Boot Camp partition. Windows Bluetooth recognizes the Magic Trackpad but it says the device won't confirm the passkey. No passkey came with the Magic Trackpad and the option to not use a passkey still doesn't achieve connection with Windows. Suggestions/ comments, please.
    TIA,
    Picman

    UPDATE
Just completed several lengthy sessions with Apple Tech Support (escalated to excellent Sr. Advisor). Bottom line is that there seems to be no answer to the problem of the Magic Trackpad not being able to maintain its pairing/connection with Windows (Vista in my case) or OS X (10.7 in my case) when switching Boot Camp partitions. In fact, when trying to re-pair it is necessary to remove the MTP batteries first. To pair at all with Windows requires the use of the Bluetooth passkey "0000" (not provided in MTP documentation). This achieves limited MTP/Windows functionality (cursor and "click" control only - with BC 3.1. BC 3.2 is supposed to provide more gestures, but I have not gotten there yet). Appears that when switching back to OS X, that passkey has remained with the MTP and is not what OS X is looking for, so it fails the connection. Removing/replacing the batteries probably dumps the passkey and allows the OS X connection. The Sr. Advisor says he sees this issue often (including with Windows 7) in their internal chat rooms, but no solution. He will be referring it to the engineers and will let me know the outcome. Meantime, assuming I keep the MTP, I'll have to resign myself to using a wired mouse when going to Windows (not a huge inconvenience, since it's only for Quicken; but the issue is worse than "in-elegant" for Apple!
I am satisfied that I have obtained the best possible help from Apple on this issue. If anybody has more, please reply.
    Thanks,

  • Problems with graphics after Boot Camp upgrade (from 3.1 to 3.2)

Right, today I upgraded Boot Camp (the first time I used iTunes on Windows so thats way I never did the upgrade before) from 3.1 to 3.2 and after the installation my screen went blank/black. After restarting iMac it the screen appeared but in 1024x768 resolution and without working graphic drivers.
I tried many different options to update the ATI HD 4850 driver, but none of them worked. It always says that there is some problem with it, but it also is up to date every time I try to update it manually for the drivers which comes with 10.12 Catalyst.
I spend several hours trying to solve it, but I just can't and I really don't know what to do next.

Right, I managed to fix it by updating the software manually, but selecting to choose from the list and I had to install the mobility drivers.

  • I downloaded Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 for Windows 64 bit

Because I read a forum stating that Version 3.0.4 (which is what is on my computer) does not mesh well with Windows 7. After I downloaded it of the apple page, the software did not update and instead it opened in a Textedit window. How do I update Boot Camp from 3.0.4 to 3.1?

If you're using the bundled Boot Camp 3.04 that comes with MacBooks / iMacs etc. it'll not upgrade with the v.3.1, v3.13 nor v3.2 until...  if it's saying "v3.0 of Bootcamp is not loaded" etc.
You reload your Windows drivers from a ORIGINAL RETAIL Snow Leopard DVD only. That retail version contained v3.0. You just load in the disc in Windows and it'll overwrite the v3.04.
Once you do that you can then download v3.1, v3.13 (if applicable to you), and v3.2 directly from Apple's Downloads section and it'll all work perfectly then. [once you've all those in you can then download Service Pack 3 of Windows XP as an additional advantage].
Another tip... let Windows RE-FORMAT your FAT32 drive again (i.e. not using the Boot Camp version) or preferably NTFS for the best compatibility.

  • Can't see Windows 7 Boot Camp partition from Mac

I've had a Win7 boot partition on my 2011 MBP for a while and it boots just fine. I have a Mac boot partition, a Mac data partition, and a NTFS Win 7 partition. But the Boot Camp partition is greyed out and invisible when booted in to the Mac.
When in Windows, I can see and use the Mac partition from Win7 with MacDrive. The problem is that I cannot see the Windows partition from the Mac. I have Paragon NTFS for Mac installed as well as MacFuse. I tried to see the partition with CampTune and got this error:
I also tried going to the BootCamp Assistant and saw this:
Yet when booted in Windows, I see the Mac partition just fine.
