Manually Removing items form my ipod!

Can someone please help me! i bought my ipod ready to go on holidya and cant seem to get it to work! I want to remove items that i have put onto the ipod manually. I've read all the help and tutorials and they say that when the ipod o
is connected a panel should appear underneath so that i can select to remove things, or if this sint there there will be a grey arrow which allows me to open up the items on the ipod and remove them. I have neither! and really want to get it sorted before my holiday which is on monday! Please can someone help me!

If you are seeing this items in iTunes, make sure your screen resolution is set to 1024x768 through your control panel on your system.
You can only change your iPod to "manually manage" through your iPod preferences when the iPod is docked to iTunes. At that point, the iPod preference window will be displayed.

it's not that i have a problem with old or duplicate entries and i would have to repair it. it's just that there are too many useless entries in the list.
if found the com.apple.launchservices.plist file. when i open it with textmate the code doesn't look like i can just delete or add any entries ...

Why can't I delete items from my iPod (and not from my library)- I tried creating a playlist as manual suggested but this no longer works, any ideas?

Previous to latest changes in iTunes I have been able to delete items on my iPod by simply clicking on and deleting when prompted for action by right click. This has become impossible and even the instructions to creat a playlist by clicking on "add to" no longer work. I seem to be unable to delete anything unless I delete it from my iTunes library. Anyone out there know the solution or working on the problem? Seems to me that if the product wasn't broke Apple should not fix it.....they should stop tinkering with it, please.

You can use these steps to delete a playlist from an iPod nano (7th generation):
Delete a playlist:
1 On the Home screen, tap Music > Playlists.
2 Flick down, then tap Edit.
3 Tap next to the playlist you want to delete, then tap Delete when it appears next to the playlist. If you tapped the wrong playlist, tap the one you want to remove.
4 Tap Delete, or tap Cancel if you change your mind.
5 When you finish, flick up, then tap Done (or swipe right to return to the Home screen if you cancel).

Remove item-centric validation

Is there a way to remove item-centric validations (http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/08/apex-40-enhancements-validating-form.html) from APEX 4.0, such as the automatic 'hidden' validation created by entering a certain format mask in a DatePicker item?
The reason for this is that I already have a validation for this item, and it also stops some other validations from being executed if the first one fails. Thus, I don't need the automatic validation.

what do you mean with "and it also stops some other validations from being executed if the first one fail"? Is that related to the automatic validation? Because I just had a look in the code, all automatic and manually defined validations are fired.
You have different possibilities to prevent firing the automatic validation for a date picker.
-) Set "Execute Validations" = "No" in your submit button which will skip all the automatic ones, but make sure that you set the "Always Execute" flag in your manual validations.
-) Use the classic date picker which doesn't perform the automatic validation
-) Create your own date picker item type plug-in which doesn't perform the automatic validation

How can we remove items from the VF04 list?

We have a long list of items in VF04 that, for various reasons (some process related, some due to errors), are not to be billed. We have looked at applying filters to the list but there is nothing really suitable to hide these individual documents e.g. we could filter out some dates where none of the items on that date are to be billed but other dates have a mix of items we want to bill and others we don't.
I have done a search of this forum but didn't find a previous topic with a quick and simple method to remove items from the list .
Is there a method, other than billing them or sorting each issue individually, to permanently remove individual documents from the VF04 list?

Download a list of Pending delivers doc form VF04.
Paste the list in T.Code : VL09 (Delivery reversal) and reverse the delivery.
Then go to T.Code: VL06G Select the list of deliveries that has been reversed, select/delete all un- wanted deliveries.
This way you can remove all unwanted pending deliveries forn Billing due list (VF04).

Updated iTunes and now can't remove songs from my iPod - please help

I've updated iTunes to version 11.0.0.163 and have an iPod Nano 16gb 5th generation.
In iTunes, I'm no longer able to manually select songs to remove them from my iPod - I can't even see the list of music that's on my iPod. The only option it gives me is to sync, and I don't want to do that. Before I upgraded iTunes, it was easy to move music between my iPod and iTunes, now I can't - what's happened?
My iPod is full so I want to remove some music, not all of it. Any advice? Please help - I'm going round in circles!

itunes will now look more like itunes 10.
You can click on your device in the lefthand window as before
You may prefer to use the Music Sync page to select or deselect Playlists, Artists, Albums etc and click apply.
Delete your files is enabled by ticking the Manualy manage music option on the Device Summary page. You may have to scroll down to find it

Itunes won't let me delete items on my Ipod Touch

I am trying to delete songs on my newly purchased Ipod Touch, and Itunes instructions say to:
Connect your iPod to your computer.
When the iPod icon appears in iTunes, select it.
If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod is closed, click it so that you can see the iPod contents.
Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
However when I click the disclosure triangle the contents of my Ipod are grayed out in Itunes, and I cannot delete or otherwise manipulate the contents. How can I get Itunes to allow me to manipulate items on my Ipod Touch?
Also I have some songs thats were imported from Windows Media Player that had Album artwork. When I tranfered to Itunes the album artwork disappeared and when I press "Get Album Artwork", Itunes can't find the artwork (I've never had this problem with Window Media Player).
I've tried manually dragging and dropping artwork into the blank album covers in Itunes to no avail. How can I add new Cover Art to Itunes, and then tranfer it my Ipod touch?

Hello, and Welcome to Apple Discussions,
for you to be able to add and delete songs, you need to enable "Manually Manage" on your iPod. Click on it as described, on the right check the little box on the bottom of the General tab. Or, if you still want the sync to be automatic, tell iTunes which playlists to sync on the Music tab. I find this to be much more convenient, as any changes in these playlists will automatically reflect on the iPod.
As for the artwork, mark all the songs from one album, right-click -> Get Info and paste the artwork in its field.

How to manually delete and album from iPod Nano v 1.1.3

I want to manually delete an album or two from my iPod Nano. I am have trouble getting iTunes to sync as the sync button is grey in iTunes 11.3 (on XP OS / Desktop). I don't know how to delete an Album to free up space on iPod Nano either. I just want to occasionally swap out a CD from my iPod Nano (i.e., delete one Album, add one, and so on).
My iPod Nano is completely full and has no capacity to add new Albums, yet the iPod still works and I don't want to throw it away.

It sounds like you want to remove some but not all of the music from your iPod nano. If you choose to Manually manage music and videos in iTunes, as shown in the article below, you can choose to delete specific albums and tracks from the device.

If you're still unable to delete the specific album after setting up manual management, try restoring the iPod and syncing music to it again.

Localize (multilingual , bilingual) error messages in out of the box (OOTB) new / edit item form.

In a multilingual environment am using variation. I have 3 sites root site, English site and Arabic.
All my lists are in root site with one condition I need to use out-of-the-box forms for data entry. My problem is when I try to insert an item in root web list, it will display English version of new item form.
I cannot duplicate entry forms for each language, because if a new field is added in list I need to translate and update all the forms manually.

I'm missing how your question is related to Microsoft Office? What kind of a solution is this (so that I know which forum to move the question to)?

Select list in a manually created tabular form

I created a select drop down item in a manually created tabular form. When I run the page, it also shows the null value '%'. How do I edit this?
This is the line I am using in the SQL:

And the select list doesn't work. It gives me an error message if I have the form to display one extra empty record and the select list. But even with the select list, if I don't include the extra row, it works properly.

Remove items from the Tools menu in the Service Manager console

Hi.
I know I have see a post regarding this before, but just wanted to put it out these once again. I'd like to remove items from the Tools menu in the Service Manager console - specifically My Notifications and Create Change Request. This is because
the former allows a user to create notification subscriptions in incorrect Management Packs, and the latter because we are not using Change Management yet. Does anyone have any information on how to achieve this?

Can't remove old episodes from iPod sine Update!

I have a Shuffle & usually carry 3-5 episodes each of 8-10 different podcasts. Sine installing the new iTunes for Windows, I can't remove old eps from the device, & it's a total crapshoot as to which NEW episodes the system will allow me to click on!!
HELP!!!!!!

There are several ways to add podcast episodes to the shuffle, so please correct my assumptions in a reply. How you add podcasts determines how you remove them. I can't tell how you do it from the info you provide.
It sound like you may add podcast episodes manually (drag and drop to iPod). If you do, and your shuffle is 3rd or 4th (current) gen, you should consider doing it using automatic syncing, by putting podcast episodes on a playlist (in your iTunes library and syncing it to the shuffle). Update the playlist at any time, by adding new podcast episodes and removing old ones (the shuffle does not need to be connected). Put the podcast episodes in desired order. iTunes automatically updates the shuffle the next time it is connected (or by clicking Sync if already connected). On the shuffle, you can listen to podcasts from that playlist, and hear episodes from different podcasts consecutively, in the desired order.
When you remove podcast episodes manually, is this the way you do it? Again, this is for 3rd or 4th gen shuffle. Select the shuffle in iTunes, so that you see its "management" screen. In the sidebar, under On My Device, click Podcasts. To the right, the podcast episodes currently on the shuffle are shown. Select the one(s) you want to remove an press Delete on the keyboard.

Adding/Removing items from the main menu

I don't know why my iPod won't let me add or remove items from my main menu.
I go
Settings > Main Menu > (check what I want on the main menu) > Reset Main Menu > Reset
When I go out to the main menu again, nothing has changed.
Anyone else having this problem? Thank you for help!

If you do a reset then you're resetting it to default. If you want to change anything ya just change it to on/and or off, then hit the menu button to go back. Don't go all the way to reset. Hope this helps.
