Manually syncing movies in iTunes 8.2

I just purchased an iPhone 3GS and almost everything works perfectly except for the movies. I am using iTunes 8.2 and all the latest software. On my iTouch first gen w/ 2.2 and 3.0, movies would synch automatically, I wouldn't have to click each one, but on my new iPhone I have to make sure each one is clicked or it won't sync. This is not true for TV shows, they will sync if you have "sync all" clicked but the movies does not have that option. I have "synch only checked songs and videos" checked and I understand this is "working as intended" but I think I lost the "sync all" box for the movies somewhere along the way. What am I doing wrong?

i've always had to manually select the 'movies' i wanted synced with my iPhone. however, i started changing the media type to 'tv shows', setup iTunes to sync certain groups, and then things were becoming more 'automatic'. for videos i imported, i had to change the 'media type' to 'tv show' and then move them to the right 'group'. it's a pain, but it works...

  • While syncing movie iPod/iTunes deletes my music and Podcasts

While syncing movie iPod/iTunes deletes my music and Podcasts. This is very frustrating becaucse I have ALL my sync settings set to Manual. What can I do to stop this? I'm about to throw my iPod against the wall!

sorry you've just been dealt a blow from Apple trying to "help" its customers. you're correct: you cannot sync only music or movies. even if "manually sync" is selected, once you sync something like moves, the rest of your library gets deleted. it's completely backwards and non-intuitive.

  • When I sync movies from itunes (imac osx) the movie itself shows up as a box but no title shows.  Doesen't matter if its purchased or just done from imovie.

When I sync my movies from itunes (mac osx) to my ipad 2 the movie syncs but show up as a box only with no title.  Dosen't matter what type of movie purchased or home made.

  • Wirelessly sync movie from iTunes to iPad?

I can see my itunes library on home sharing and play the movies easily enough on the ipad from itunes.  However, I can not crack the code to copy a movie from itunes WIRELESSLY to the ipad.

I guess I don't know where to transfer them from. Where do I go to do that?  Within Videos I see "Movies" (the movies already on the ipad) and "shared" (the content on itunes on the Mac).  Even some vids that ~40MB I can stream from itunes, but that is it.  Should I be trying to transfer them from somewhere else on the ipad?  Heck, I just realized I don't know how to wireless transfer music to the ipad either.

  • Can´t sync movies with iTunes 11.1.4 (on Mavericks 10.9.1) to iPhone 4S with iOS7. Is there a possibility to reset the sync on iTunes?

I produced some videos in iMovie 10.0.2 and transfered they to iTunes 11.1.4.
    That worked so far....
After that I´ve compressed the movies for the use with iPhone and iPod
    .....also worked.....
Then I tried to sync the movies to my iPhone4s with iOS7.0.4. The sync starts, runs and ends without an error. But after that I can´t find the movies on my phone. There is enough free memory on my phone and I also tried to shut the movie app and restart my phone. The movies are still not there.
When I check what´s on my phone with iTunes (iPhone connected), iTunes says the movies are on my phone!?!?!?
Maybe there are some troubles within a sync "library" or something like that? Is there a possibility to reset the sync services or whatever is responsible for the sync?
Or maybe somebody has another solution which solves the problem!?
The strange thing is that my music, books and all the other stuff will sync fine!
Hope that someone can help me with this issue.
    thanks a lot

I´ve fixed this issue as follows:
    1) did a backup of the iPhone in the cloud
    2) reset the iPhone in manufacturing mode
    3) restored the backup out of the cloud
After that the sync with iTunes worked well also with movies.

  • Cant manually sync songs from itunes

I have an iphone 5s and I can't sync any songs manually from iTunes like I could before. This is the first i've tried since updating to iOS 8.1.
I right click to "add to" playlist/iphone and it just doesn't even register as if I didn't do anything.
I also downloaded an iTunes update today.
I shut down my computer (after iTunes update) and tried again but still same thing and didn't work.  I signed out of iTunes and signed back in and that didn't help either.
    Any ideas?  Thanks.

  • Apple TV 1 won't sync movies from iTunes library

I have a 160GB Apple TV 1 with software version 3.0.2 connected via an ethernet cable to my network. I have about 4000 songs, 20 movies, and 30 TV shows in my iTunes library on my computer. Most of the movies and TV shows were purchased from iTunes. Some however were purchased from other online sources. None are ripped from discs.
When I originally purchased the Apple TV, all the songs, movies, and TV shows synced without an issues. A few months ago though, the movies and TV shows stopped syncing. They actually disappeared from my Apple TV. So, now I have most of my songs on the Apple TV, but no movies or TV shows will sync. I have reset the Apple TV to factory settings multiple times. Each time, all the songs will sync, but none of the movies or TV shows. I have tried doing an "Automatic Sync" with no luck. I have tried doing a "Custom Sync" and selecting "All Movies" under the movie tab with no luck. I am extremely frustrated because it seems to have happened out of the blue. Any thoughts or help?

Any chance they aren't checked in iTunes.

  • Ipod is unable to sync movies from itunes

i have converted my movies using handbrake and am able to watch them through itunes but i am not able to sync them to my 80 gb ipod video. is there anyway i can fix this problem. please help!

When you convert movies with Handbrake, make sure that the file format that you are saving the movies in is m4v...It has worked best for me. With the mp4 format it seems to be hit or miss whether the movie will work on an iPod...This should work for both PC & Mac

  • Manually Sync movies/tv shows and auto sync music

Is there a way to manually manage my movies and tv-shows but maintain auto-sync with my music? I have the box unchecked on movies and tv shows and it won't let me drag and drop any movies onto my ipod.

Yeah, I attempted that, too, because there are only some TV shows I want to watch, and it seems to avoid them regardless of what option I choose.
I tried to mix it up, but it just disabled the "manually manage", so I just use the "sync only checked" options and uncheck the things I don't want the iPod to sync.

  • TS2830 is it possible to manually sync when using iTunes match?  sync 13019 error always when trying to copy

I prefer to manage my transfers to my iPod myself.  I keep getting the 13019 error; software is up-to-date.  Google/Apple searches suggest only way to fix is to autosync the iPod - wiping off what is on it, including Podcasts.
It is beginning to seem as though, perhaps by using Match, I have eliminated the possibility of manual sych. Is this correct?

For some reason known only to Apple, only files downloaded through iTunes can be in the podcast section of iPod. As far as I know there is still no supported way around this.
Occassionaly someone reports getting around issue by manually editing the file using a hex editor. This involves comparing iTunes downloaded file with non-iTunes downloaded file to find the difference. Once found, the equivalent setting in other files can be changed. I have never done it though.

  • Ipod 5th Gen will not sync movies from Itunes...

I've had this Ipod for a couple of years now and the only way I've been able to put movies on is through a few programs that I've downloaded. I've bought a few movies off of the Itunes store and every time I put it on the iPod, the iPod freezes up, and then sometimes my iPod loses all of it's content. The iPod and iTunes are both up-to-date, is this just an issue with the 5th gens?

Are these HD movies? iPods can only handle SD movies.
Some store downloads include both versions. They will show HD-SD next to them. If so, right-click > Version and make sure SD is checked.
if it just shows HD, you should be able to use the Advanced menu to create an iPod or iPhone version.

  • Itunes will not manually sync music with my Iphone 5

I am trying to manually sync music from ITunes and my Iphone5. From the Info screen I have selected the option to manually sync music and video files. From the music screen I have selected the option to sync selected artists, etc. I selected some of my music and was conscious to leave room for all the other items on my phone (per the storage bar at the bottom of the screen). When I select 'Sync' at the bottom of the screen, ITunes goes through all of the steps to sync and seems to complete. However nothing is copied over to my phone and I do not see any of the titles being transferred in the status bar. Additionally, I am receiving an error message that states I do not have enough disk space to complete the transfer and that an additional 4GB is required. However, I have a very small amount of music scheduled to transfer and the status bar that tracks available space still has over 7GB available with my selections made. I appear to have ample disk space yet the phone will not update any music at all.  Please help if you can. Thank you.

I have the exact same problem. My Iphone is always synced by connecting to my computer because I don't want anything on the cloud. All of the sudden the yellow "other" part of the bar showing what's on my phone  will fill up the right half of the bar even though I haven't added anything. I have emptied the phone  of all it's content one category at a time to try to identify what the "OTHER" is. I remove all the apps, them Music and so on. It doesn't work and the yellow bar stays showing it is taking up half the space on my phone. So then I put the settings back the way they were, which should leave about a quarter of my storage space free. Then I do a reset of my phone and after two hours ( that's how long it takes) The "other" yellow bar goes back down to taking up about 1/20 of space on my IPhone even though I haven't made any changes. The only reason I sync at all is to add music to my phone that I've added to my main library on ITunes. This is so frustrating and a huge wast of my time! Can someone tell me haw to stop this please?

  • Itunes does not sync movies to ipod what can I do?

I try to sync movies from Itunes to my Ipod. I can sync it from Itunes and it does say completed but there is no movie on my I pod.
    What can I do?

    1. Reboot methods. The first thing to do is try to reboot the iPhone, which you can do by holding the top button and the home button for about ten seconds. In some cases, the iPhone is actually still on, but a bug stops the screen from displaying anything, so you can reverse the problem by doing the reboot. If you still see nothing on the screen, try to plug the iPhone in and again try the reboot methods to see if you can get the screen to display.
    2. Restoring the iPhone. If the iPhone shows up in iTunes, but it still doesn't seem to turn on, it's definitely a display problem. When rebooting fails, you can restore the iPhone from iTunes, and this should fix whatever bugs caused the original issue. Realize that you'll have to reload your music if you restore to another software version. To restore, plug the iPhone in, go into iTunes and click the iPhone's icon on the side of the select screen. Click on the restore button and agree to the prompt asking if you really want to restore the iPhone's software.
    3. Recovery mode. You can put the iPhone into recovery mode if it has a charged battery by holding down the home button before connecting it to iTunes, then continuing to hold the button until iTunes recognizes that the iPhone's in recovery mode. Recovery mode is a bare-bones way of booting the iPhone that allows you to perform a restore when you're dealing with a serious issue such as the iPhone failing to turn on or display anything on its screen.
    4. Last resort options. If you still can't get any response from the iPhone, you may have a bad battery or shorted out electronics. This is far from an ideal situation, but if you've got a warranty open with Apple, it's covered. If you don't, you can send the iPhone away for repair, but it will cost you a bit to replace the damaged components. Stop by an AT&T store and they may be able to give you a loaner phone in the meantime so that you don't lose your ability to make and receive phone calls until your iPhone is repaired.

  • Can't copy movies from itunes to iphone

Just today, and this has not occurred before, I am getting an error message when trying to sync movies from iTunes to my iPhone.  The error message: "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including (movie name), were not copied to the iPhone because you are not aurhotirzed for them on this computer.
I checked, and of course my computer has been and had been authorized on the iTunes account.  I've tried to deauthorize and then re-authorize the computer, still not working.
Is this a problem with iTunes, or a bigger problem that's occurred recently?  It sure isn't working for me.  Very frustrating.

iTunes Store Support has credited me for the purchase, but there clearly seems to be a problem here with the aurhorization process in iTunes Store.  I purchased and downloaded another movie, and sure enough -- same problem all over again.  This has only been happening in the past couple of days, never had a problem before.
Anyone else?  Here's a screenshot of the error message:
