Manually transfer movies to ipad

Are there any programs that can transfer movies/files from computer system to iPad?
I tried manual transfer but it doesn't work.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I've always found iTunes works well.

It seems I'm forced to sync, which results in me losing the purchased items on my iPad and then all the items on my computer are synced to my iPad. I have a similar question. I just synced and really have no idea what I did. Everything I paid for on my iPad2 is now in iTunes on my PC and also on my iPad2 except one movie.

What happened and how do I get it back on my iPad? If I download it again on my iPad2 will I have to pay for it again? I tried and it said "You already purchased this to you want to buy it again? The salesperson in the store said if I accidentally delete something I paid for I can go ahead and download it again, and I won't be charged. Can anyone verify this?
Also a podcast transferred over to my iPad which I want to delete. I don't see anywhere I can delete this.

Transfer movie to iPad

I purchased a copy of the Sony DVD "Olympus Has Fallen", which includes an Ultraviolet/download copy. My problem is that I can't figure out how to transfer this to my iPad, so that I can watch the movie on an airplane when there's no wifi. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. The method you suggest is the only way I know to do it. The problem is there's no movie file to add to iTunes. Sony has it set up so that you first have to download their software ("Sony Pictures Download Manager"), then download the movie directly into the software with no file appearing on the computer. This is fine as long as there's a wi-fi connection, but I want to be able to watch the movie on a plane where there's no wi-fi. Thanks again! I'll keep trying.

I downloaded a movie on my iPad 2 yesterday and want to transfer it to my PC, yet when I plug in my iPad it syncs it but no movie.... I right click on the iPad and click "Transfer purchases" but still nothing, in fact it quickly says preparing to sync and stuff and then back to the apple logo at the top. Whenever I click this video part at the bottom usage bar gioes down to virtually zero, but the movie is still on the iPad. Please help me!

Since you are a developer or beta tester you need to post this question in the developer forum and report the issue. This is what beta versions are meant for, to discover issues like this and then fix them.

When i tried to copy 2 movies manually from my computer to ipad via itune, why is it always show on the action bar I am trying to sync 30+ items? Can someone tell me if there is any problem with my ipad or my computer or the movie itself.

First of all does the sync actually complete? I'm guessing that it doesn't but you are not totally clear about that.
if you have apps or content in iTunes on your computer that have yet to be synced to the iPad - maybe that is where the 30 + items message is coming from or referring to.

If you have them on your computer's iTunes then you can try syncing them by connecting the iPad to your computer and selecting it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side on the Movies tab selecting and syncing them to the iPad's Videos app. If you get a message that they are not compatible with the iPad then try doing Advanced > Create iPad Version and then try syncing those versions.
If you can't get them into your computer's iTunes then you will either need to convert them into a compatible format, or you could have a look in the store for AVI players.

Cannot transfer rental movie to ipad, itunes thinks it is already transferred to another device

Hopefully this is pretty straightforward. I downloaded a movie rental from iTunes store. When I attempted to move to my iPad (via manual sync) I got an error along the lines of the following: 'Cannot transfer movie rental as it is already transferred to another device'. I have rented movies multiple times from the iTunes store and did not encounter this issue. My laptop is authorized (I double checked). Correct me if I am wrong but if the rental appears in the iTunes library then technically it is not transferred.

I have purchased but never rented movies but from what I have read, your assumption is correct. Once you move the rental to an iDevice it should disappear from iTunes.
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.

ITunes cannot transfer movies bought from the Store onto the iPad.

I have an iPad Mini and iTunes cannot transfer movies bought from the Store onto the iPad.
'Manually manage videos' is ticked but then after each sync attempt it goes back to being unticked.
'Sync only checked songs and videos' is also ticked and remains so.
When I choose the movies to put on the iPad, it gives me an indication of how much space I have (enough), lets me sync and then goes back to zero.

FYI, I searched the side pane here after asking this question. It seems someone gave an answer that worked for me. I could not drag and drop a pdf from the desktop into iTunes or the Ipad2 directly for whatever reason. However in iTunes on the main menu under Files>Add, I could navigate to the desktop and add the pdf that way, then sync Books with the iPad. This worked!
I've attempted in the past to drag and drop videos, etc into iTunes and the iPad with no success. Somehow it never occurred to me to add them this way. Doh!

Rentals on ATV cannot be transferred.
The 2nd and 3rd gen model do not have accessible storage. Some movie purchases are stored in iCloud (if you live in the US) where you can reload in iTunes on your computer)
If you own the 1st gen aluminum model then it should be set to sync

Have you spoken to Apple support - clicking on the 'Set up 3 questions' link under Security in your account page should allow all three to be set. Use iTunes Account page link on your PC, then sync by hardwire when finished. If you have icloud, backup to icloud afterwards. Switch back to iTunes on your ipad (connected wirelessly or by carrier) and try a purchase you want. If still having problems it sounds like a server issue at Apple's end.

Here's one way to install. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
