Manualy add music or photos?
Sorry if i'm asking a dumb question but I tried searching and I couldn't find my answer.
When I use my regular ipod on Itunes I can manually choose which songs I want to add onto my Ipod. Can I do the same with my Iphone. I usually connect it at my job and at home. I have pictures on both computers. However when I want to add new photos it syncs all the pictures on the folder and deletes pictures that are in my photo library on my Iphone if they are not in the computer folder that I selected. I just want to manually add one or two photos or songs from either computer instead of all of them!
can i make a list for pictures? or will the pictures that i loaded from home be deleted when i upload pictures at work?
I'm guessing that I should only have one computer with pictures and music and never delete them or else when I upload new pics I'll lose the old ones huh?

Importing content setting problems - and cannot add music & still photos
Sorry for the newbie questions, but just starting with iMovie and I'm having some serious problems.
When I import movies from my harddisk iMovie seems to make a second copy and much larger version of the movie file stored in the iMovie folders (a 900mb master created a 1.4gb duplicate). How can I stop it from duplicating (& changing) the master? I certainly don't want to 'move' as it seems the original will be deleted. Probably just a check button somewhere (I hope).
Also, when trying to create a movie I cannot add music of photos! The music and photo browsers are empty. How can I navigate the disk to select a song or a photo still? There must be some settings to tell it where to find music/photos on the disk.Hi, sorry, I have a dumb question too.

You cannot add an audiotrack to the photoalbum. But if you make it a movie with a picture, then you can.
I used QT Pro, but you can also use iMovie. -

Do you mean a different piece of music for each slide in a slideshow? You can't do that in iPhoto, you just don't have that level of fine control. You need an app that can manage the soundtrack at that level.

First, create a Project. Find your photos in the Photo Browser. Drag them into the project.
Find the music you want to use in the Music Browser. Drag it into the project and drop it on the photo at the point where you want the music to start. Alternatively, you can drop the music in the background of the project. -
Accessing music and photos from shared libraries in imovie and other apps
ihave a problem that i'm not sure is solvable. i have a mac mini that i use to hold all my music in itunes, photos in iphoto and share this with my other mac by turning on the sharing in itunes and iphoto. this means on my other mac, i can access music and photos using the shared music and photos facility in those programs. however, when i want to add music or photos into imovie using the media tab in imovie on my other mac, it doesn't show the shared libraries. i also have the same problem in final cut pro. is there anyway to make these programs see shared libraries of photos of music that sit on another mac on the network?

If you copy the photos you wish to use to your iPhoto local library you'll then have access in to them in the media pane of iMovie.
However, iTunes will not allow you to do the same thing with songs.
As a workaround you could enable File Sharing and then mount the mini as a server. In the Finder you'll need to then rummage around in the mini's iTunes library to find the tracks you need, but it should work.

I have a G5 which I intend to keep.
Now that I have updated my iphone 4s to iOS 7.0.
I cannot add music to my iphone or upload photos to iphoto.
I have the last itunes 10.6.3. which was supported by apple.
itunes will not interact with my iphone on any level.
Apple made all the equipment I use.
Bentley and Ferrari etc do not stop making parts for their cars?

Regarding iOS 7.0 you have totally lost the plot.
We buy apple why?
Quality.
Intuitive interface.
Stable software.
Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. When trying to add music to a slide show from my PC to TV through Apple Tv the photos are fine but I get an error message that says the music cannot be downloaded.
Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive. If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down. You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes. Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked. You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library. iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.

I had to format the C drive recently. I have reinstalled iTunes but I am unable to add anything other than music, TV shows and movies to the iTunes library. It is not showing any option to add podcasts, books, photos or apps. These things are available on my iPhone but are no longer there in the iTunes library. Please help.
In iTunes go to general preferences and check the boxes for those you wish to see in the library.

when I add tunes from a CD into iTunes on myMacPro, shouldn't I be able to see them on my iPad and iPhone if I've got iCloud? For some reason I thought the advertisement on TV said "add music here, and see it there.." or was that just photos?
Oh, wait -- also, you took about uploading CDs. I don't think *those* would automatically go to your other devices *until* you subscribe to iMatch or whatever that's called. You have to pay an extra $25 a year to get all your uploaded stuff in the cloud and therefore on your other devices. Anything you *purchase* from iTunes on one device would automatically be sent to the other devices.
I did the Match thing, and it took a while at first to upload all the non-iTunes stuff, but then it worked. The whole thing is still new and has some kinks to work out. -

You can only select one track via the slideshow button in the Photos app. If you have a long slideshow then you can start music playing in the iPod app and then switch into Photos and start a (no-music) slideshow.

I have a MacBook Air and recently downloaded the new operating system, 10.10 OSX Yosemite. Since that time, I am no longer able to access my personal ITunes library to add music to IPhoto slideshows. I put I tunes library on my desktop, as suggested. How do I drag it to the I Photo slideshow?
That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account. -
If you add music videos to Up Next playlist, then go to look at the album cover playing screen, then go to add another song from different playlist, you no longer can see Up Next, just go to full screen mode button. Using remote app iPhone 5 to play out of iTunes. It looks like it works fine for regular music, but for music videos you can't see your up next unless you go back on the computer to change once you've left the screen. When using the remote app, you shouldn't need to go to iTunes on the PC to view or edit Up Next already added. See first image, you can hit upper right and get back to Up Next (second image). Third image is music video, where you can't get back to Up Next, just swap between full screen and not. I hoped 3.0.1 would have the answer, no luck!

I recently switched to icloud. When I connected my phone to my computer and went to itunes, my phone no longer appeared in the list. This is where I am used to manually adding photos nd mucic from my libraries and other manual functions I perform. I ltried to log into icloud and was told that my normal apple id passpwrd does not work. I then went to settings on the phone and only found one thing, a choice to baxk my phone up to icloud. I want to manually back up and add/replace music and photos as well as addredd book and especially calanders. Please help. I am a one on one memmber but I started a progression of lessons with the new OS. I cloud comes next so I feel like I am behind in my abilities. Please help
