Manufacturing Schedulers Workbench

Shouldn't the hours available in the load capacity in the Scheduler Workbench reflect the same hours available in the MRP workbench or the hours available in a CRP report?

One of my co-workers had logged a TAR which has been since soft-closed due to the fact that patchset I should clear up the problem we saw. That problem was that the hours available for a resource from the Manufacturing Scheduler did not match with hours available anywhere else that we looked.

  • Create new partner role type

    Hi Guys
This one is from Traders' and Schedulers' Workbench from IS Oil and Gas Downstream.
I need to know whether we can create new partner role types (e.g. TSW011, TSW011, etc). The partner role types are maintained in table OIJRRT but I could not find a transaction to maintain this table.
Do I need to create the entries in the table directly? Will the system allow me? Has anybody tried this earlier?
Also, can anybody tell me what is the significance of Role differentiator type and how can we use it?
Many thanks in advance for all your time on this.
    Kartik

TS W as a standard has some partner roles, which can be assined to the TSW location or Transport system.
    e.g. Carrier
    Shipper
    Supplier
    Supplier in pipe
    Receiver
    Receiver in pipe
    Consignee
    Tanker
    Inspector
    Breakout S/L locational
Your partner role can be either of the following SAP entities : Vendor, Customer, Plant , Plant + SLoc
At a physical location, you can have multiple suppliers. In SAP, they are created as Vendors, and assigned to the TSW location as the 'Supplier' partner role. Another vendor may be assigned the 'Carrier' partner role at the location. Similary, a Plant can be assigned as a 'Supplier' partner role.
The same applies to Customers or Plant which can act as a 'Receiver' partner role at a diferent TSW location.
Once you have set-up the partners for the location, this data is used as a validating and defaluting source in the TSW documents.

  • POS - Port Operaton System

Working on Port operation system of one of the PSU. The processes have been mapped in std PM/SD functionalities. lots of developments requried to satisfy the requirement.
Can functionalities be used from Bulk transportation for mining - Marine Scheduling, Fleet mgt with Vessel Characteristics, Nomination, Berth planning board, Berth Scheduling, Laytime/Demurrage etc in ECC 6.0.
This will help to get integrated std SAP solution. Please provide your inputs.

    Hi Avinash,
We are facing similar issue, I hear that Traders and Schedulers Workbench with is part if IS-OIL has these functionalities. The standard SAP does not have any mechanism to track this. Did you find any solution for your implementation. It would be great if you could share your experience in tackling this situation.

  • The Projects screen to import and export SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration

    Hello:
On my SAP Discovery Server, On the Projects screen to import and export SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP xMII) projects.
Under the projects listed I see one Default project, is listed as a System Project.
I did an import and used one of the sample application, along with the ExportManifest.xml file.
"You can create an external project structure, include it in a zip file, and import it as a new project. You do not need an ExportManifest.xml file to import a project."
Now I see two projects listed as System Projects, is that ok, would that cause any issues? Is there any way that I could correct this?
    Note:
If you import a project that already exists, the system overwrites the current project structure and files.
You can import hidden projects that do not appear on the Projects screen or in the SAP xMII Workbench. System-defined projects may appear in the Projects screen and in the SAP xMII Workbench, but you cannot delete them. You can import a project with the same name as a hidden or system-defined project and overwrite its properties. If you do this, they are no longer considered to be hidden or system-defined projects.
    Thank you,

You could consider creating a project and exporting it to see the proper format of the zip file, including the ExportManifest.  You should find attributes in the xml for setting the description, system type, etc.

  • Problem with Manufacturer Information set type COM_TA_MANUFAC on UI

    Hello everyone!
The system is CRM 7.0 standalone. One of the requirements is to track manufacturer information in products data. SAP has predefined set type for this called COM_TA_MANUFAC. I can see it in GUI in product workbench under the SAP Basic Data page but it is not available in Web UI. Is it possible to make that information available in Web UI?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex.

    Hi Gopal,
I was under the impression it was mandatory, but I took a second look at the documentation and you are correct, it does not need to reside in the same folder.
    Documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fd/fe573d675e910fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm
I do not see anything you are doing wrong.

  • MII prompts for a login for every execution of a workbench object

    Hi,
Is there a setting in MII 12.1.9 Build(108) somewhere, by which I can make the system not to prompt for a login for every execution of a Web object in the workbench?
I have all of the following checked in the System Configuration page -
    1. NetweaverDataSourceCaching
    2. ResolveMachineName
    3. RunTransactionExpirationCheck
    4. TransactionCaching
    5. UsageStatisticsMonitoring
    6. WSDLGenSecurityEnabled
    Regards,
    Chanti.

    Hi Chanti,
    Check out this note: 1538719
    And
"Additionally the customer needs to review the security and upgrade documents which can be found on SMP under Software Downloads (top menu) -> Installation and Upgrades (lh menu) -> Installation and Upgrade Guides (lh menu) -> SAP Business Suite Applications (lh menu) -> SAP Manufacturing -> SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (lh menu) -> SAM MII 12.1 (lh menu).  Both of these documents were upgraded specifically for SP08 and the security changes."
The background is that there were significant changes made to the underlying NW package and corresponding changes in MII starting with 12.1.8 which are what is causing the difficulties you experience.

  • Best Practice for manufacturing Industrial Machinery in batch size

    Dear Sir,
We have a scenario where we need to manufacture Industrial Machine in a Batch Size of 10 nos . These machines have multi level BOM and total manufacturing cycle time is approx 3 months .
We request you to kindly suggest us about the best manufacturing practices related process we should follow to address this scenario .
At present , we have been manufacturing these Machines on individual basis ( It means MRP run is done for individual machne and production orders generated are also on individual machine manufacturing basis) .
We would be highly greatful for the suggested solution pl .
    Rgds
    Sonia Agarwala

    Dear ,
Please use the following functionality in your case :
1.If you are particualr to have 10 pc in each batch qty then keep the Lot Size as Fixed Lot Sixe -FX with Fixed lot size qty as 10 in material master MRP1 view .
2.As your approximate manufacturing cycle is 3 motnhs , then you can have MRP run once three months for FG   and plan your dependent accordingly through MRP .
3.If you are following MTS cycle , then create demand in MD61 or you can create direct Sales Order in VA01 for MTO process
4.Run MRP with NETCH ,1,1.3,3,2 , planned order with FG qty 10 pc will be generated  and you can convert them into Production Order in MD04-Planned order-convert to PO

I am facing the same problem. I have ensured that I have followed all the steps given in the installation mannual. This clearly indicates there is some thing wrong with the workbench installble (trail version). I do not know is it by design (intentionally done by Adobe it self). If it is so, its shame on Adobe.

  • Deployment Workbench - how to capture an image after customisation?

I have deployed Vista to a machine using WinPE (Created through Workbench) and chose the option when deploying "Prepare for capture"
I then customised Vista - in this case removing the Fax applications and ran Sysprep with OOBE, Generalise and Shutdown.
In workbench I created a new task sequence 'Standard Client Replace task sequence' which seems to be the right task to capture an image.
When selecting the task when booting the machine with WinPE, it forces me to capture the user data - I cannot select 'Do not save data and settings'
I must be doing something wrong!
What I want to do is:
    Deploy Vista
Install some apps manually i.e. not using a task sequence
    Capture the image
    Deploy to machines
How can I do this using Workbench? Thanks.

    Creating a Computer Image
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb977918.aspx
If you select “Capture an image of this reference computer” on the “Specify whether to capture an image” page when running Deployment Wizard, it will sysprep and capture the system for you automatically.
    If you would like to
“Install Vista and prepare for capture
Install my own applications WITHOUT using task sequences
    Capture the OS”,
I am afraid that you do not need to use MDT (you cannot perform a LTI without running Task Sequences). You can do this by only using WDS.
    1.   Install and configure the WDS Server.
    2.   Add the default Windows Server 2008 boot image to the WDS Server.
    3.   Create Capture Boot Image and add it to boot image in WDS Server.
    4.  Create a reference computer (install the operating system, applications, and make any other changes)
    5.  Sysprep.
    6.  PXE boot the reference computer into capture image on the boot screen and then capture the image (If non-PXE supported, make a discover image to boot)
    7.  Upload the captured image to WDS server.
    8.  Clients can PXE boot and install Windows (If non-PXE supported, use a discover image to boot).
    Hope it helps.
