Manulay downloading nokia maps?

can I transfare map files to my phone manulay? without using nokia suite or any other software?
that's my question but read on if you want a bit more details, thank.
hello, I am using a nokia 5230 with the latest firmware and nokia maps 3.06 my problem is that when I updated to the last version of maps i was promoted that the old "street maps" will be deleted and i accepted thinking that it would be easy to preload them again.
so now when i try to preload them through nokia suite it just gives me the message that it's looking for the maps on the server, and that goes for endless minutes without anything changing , once it did go though this stage to another one and it was "checking my phone for old maps" and again it just stayed like that, my question is, is there anyway i could download the maps manualy and then just transfare the files to my Sd card?
Solved!

  • How do download Nokia Maps files for Nokia C6-00 o...

Recently I found an update files to my Nokia C6-00 Nokia Maps file,
I stucked at 81MB of 99MB and prompted the download is timeout.
I have fail download for 3 times.
Is there any where I can download the file manually for Malaysia map ?
    Thank you.

Assuming that your C6-00 is running Nokia Maps v3.06 here you are Malaysia
Should howver you be running Nokia Maps 3.04 (unlikely) you would need Malaysia
Base map/ClientIndex is not altered frequently so older version usually suffices.
If you need any further help on deploying decompressed .zip of (16) folders 0 - 9 and a - f to E:\cities\diskcache, please post again.

Used the application on the phone, and got a lock on yesterday. Just ran the app now, and it saved my position.
It's the PC Maploader from this site, I just can't get it to download to my PC.
    Hi kevrani
You are right it asks you to "accept" but won't let you download at 13.50hrs. Suggest try again another time!
You could try the following site:

  • If download of Nokia Maps doesn't work...

...then you can try the following.
When I tried to download Nokia Maps from "nokia.mobi/maps" via "Web" with my E61i, once I clicked on "Accept Terms Service", the browser always took me back to the starting page with the red text "You must select your phone model". I tried this several times and it failed every time.
Solution: use the "Services" icon instead (which is the phone's WAP browser), and then the download should work.
Pretty weak of you Nokia to fail at this point...

If it is asking for internet connection, it wants to download the map. To stop this from happening download Nokia Map Loader here: http://europe.nokia.com/explore-services/maps/download/nokia-map-loader Use Nokia Map Loader to upload maps to your phone, then there is no need to go on the internet the whole time.Don't click on the link. Copy it and paste in in the address bar of a new tab or window.

  • Nokia maps s40 (c3-01//c2-03//asha 300)

Hi there, Where can I download nokia maps for these devices? (euro maps) C2-03 has nokia maps, so it should be available in some ways, right?
DO NOT link me this http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download because these phones are not listed.
    Thank you

    Hi Enneotto8,
As far as I can tell, Nokia C3-01 does not support Nokia Maps. If Maps download is not made available to you through Nokia Suite, then I'm sure that your device does not support Nokia Maps. The C3-01 also does not have a GPS receiver as part of the phone hardware, and reviews of the phone I have read on the Internet, do not make mention of any Maps functionalities. Yes, it would be convenient even to have an offline version of Maps, but sadly I doubt this is available.
    Hope this helps.

  • CityExplorer (Guides) not available in Nokia Maps ...

    Hi,
I upgraded my N95 to Nokia Maps 3.0.
Downloaded the latest Nokia Map Loader (3.0). But there I can't download any Services as in the old Map Loader.
There are no Global guides from Lonely Planet, Michelin, and WCities possible to download, as described in on the Nokia Maps homepage.
    CityExplorer Services
I have purchased a 2 years licens for CityExplorer. But anyway, it's not possible to download with Noka Map Loader 3.0.
Downloaded Nokia Map Loader 2.0.2 instead, there the folder "Services" is still available. But when I click on that, it always tells me:
Connection to the map server has been interruped. Make sure your Internet connection is working and retry. If you are still unable to download, try again later."

All right. So with POI you mean for example the petrol stations, restaurants, or shopping centers near my position?
I find them when I select "Explore" in the Map 3.0 menu.
Also, when I click on "Show Detail" at my current possion, or at one of the POI's I can select, and I have the internet connection online at that moment, then I will see the actuall weather information for this place.
The same when I click on the places I have saved under "Favorits". When I click on "show details", then I see the weather information about this point. (when Internet connection is on). - Nice!
But anyway, I'm missing the "Lonely Planet & Michelin" guides. Also I haven't found the "WCities entertainment" yet, described in in the link I posted in my previous post. Maybe it's only available for a few cities.

  • Viewing Nokia maps without satellite

    Hi all,
Have downloaded Nokia maps how can I view the maps without connecting to satellite.

    Hi mrnotia
Do you mean by this that you don't want to use a GPRS connection so that assisted GPS feature will not work, as provided internal GPS is enabled it will still lock onto satellites albeit more slowly unless outside?
If you have access to a WLAN this can always be the chosen access point if you want.
If you have downloaded regional maps you can use the "*" and "#" keys to zoom in/out and the cursor to traverse maps.

  • Nokia Maps Current Poistion... but it is not where...

I just got a new Nokia E71, I have downloaded Nokia Maps and downloaded China, this is where I am this year. I went into the maps section on my phone and chose My Position last night and it went to where I was in Beijing, China with no problem, then before bed, being a boy with a new toy, I did it again but this time it went to some other location in Beijing, China and then I did it again and it went to another location... I decided to give my phone a rest and check again in the morning... well yes you guessed it, it came up with another location no where near where I really am...
What I want to know is...
    WHY?
    and
    How do I fix it?
    Thank you,
    Shawn

Were you indoors when receiving these GPS readings? Might have been the culprit here.

  • Nokia Maps Suite 2.0

I've just used Nokia Suite to install Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on a N8 running Belle.  I had been reading about it here: http://blog.maps.nokia.com/nokia-maps/download-nokia-maps-suite-on-your-nokia-belle-device#more-1929...
(When the installation said less than a minute left, it actually took much longer, around six minutes.  I was worried the program had crashed, so I tried to start it on my phone anyway, and right after that, the installation completed.)
According to the version information on the phone, I now have:
       Version  v3.09 12wk09 b05
       MW OpenGL MN
       Map version 0.2.45.110
I've got a few questions - the very first one being whether there is a document posted somewhere explaining how to use the new software?  Or, is it to be trial and error on my part?
Next, I accidentally created a new "favorite" while trying things out - I can delete it by going to my favorites list, and doing a long-press on that favorite, to bring up the box with "delete".  Should I be able to delete favorites on the main Maps page as well?  I think that's how I used to do it ages ago.
I did a search for a local bagel restaurant, and eventually found it.  I clicked on the little "i" (for information?) at the right side of the listing, and got their street address.  Should I also have gotten their phone number?  It would be nice if not only the phone number showed up, but if I could click on it to call them.
From the website about the program listed above:
"For our UK users, new Voice Search lets you get directions simply by speaking, so you can now navigate hands-free! Tap on the microphone icon next to the search box and speak your destination. Voice Search will be available for more countries and languages soon."  Is this included in what I just downloaded, and will it work in the USA and India?
Finally, I read something in this forum posted recently: "If you're still having issues trying the latest beta version from here should fix the issue: http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-maps-suite "    Is this version even newer than the one I just downloaded?  Which do you recommend?  Can you explain the differences?
First impressions are very positive.  The list we put together for Bell problems/issues can be found here:  /t5/Software-Updates/List-of-Belle-additions-corrections-needed/td-p/1328167/page/5 .   The issues for previous versions of maps were:
MAPS-- Ability to delete or edit map favorites from Drive (can be done from Maps).
MAPS-- Re-enable the auto/Bluetooth connection to work with Nokia Maps Navigation.Camera & video
MAPS-- Re-enable the auto/Bluetooth connection to work with Nokia Maps Navigation
MAPS-- Return the English "surfer dude" voice to  Voice Navigation on the N8.
MAPS-- Not possible to delete maps history.
MAPS-- provide a simple and convenient method to import and export GPS coordinates
MAPS-- Map widget doesn't support rotation with fingers
MAPS-- No backup ability for map favorites without going on-line
I'm hoping when some of us test these in the new version, we'll be able to mark them as "solved"

    Mike_Myers_N8 wrote:
Well, my suggestions are as follows:
    Backup -
As to GPS, I when the phone displays the information about a "favorite", the GPS co-ordinates should be displayed right there.
I will have to test the other way as well - there should be a way to enter the GPS co-ordinates of a place you're interested in.  I did that years ago before even Anna was released, and it was very handy.  GPS co-ordinates are a "standard", a "universal" way of describing a location.
It's nice that the software can do all the things it does with the internet/cloud, but that should all be in addition to the basic ways of doing it, not instead of.  ....at least that's my opinion.
I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow - will have several days to work with the new Maps software, and see what I think.  First impressions are mostly good!  ...and thanks for your help!
Points taken on backup. I don't actually use backups much myself preferring to copy files manually. What could be an idea for Nokia Suite is to be able to define additional filetypes or folders to be syncd.
Agreed that display of lat/long would be useful on the favorite page, in fact I would go further and wish for the coordinates to also be displayed in 'local' coordinate systems as well.
You can search by lat/long (eiter as DMS or decimal degrees) as shown in the attachment. Again I would like it to go further as I would prefer to have been able to search for the point i used as 'SP 487 169'. Incidentally I tried the same lat/long coordinate search with google maps, on the N8 and my android tablet, and found that rather than it returning the point i was searching for it decided to choose a nearby address, so in terms of searching Nokia is way ahead.
Hope you have a god trip and maps proves useful. Since getting the N8 I have completly given up using my dedicated satnav and gps recievers, as well as compact camera.

  • OUT OF DATE NOKIA MAPS

    HI
JUST DOWNLOADED NOKIA MAPS FOR UK
BUT WHY ARE THE MAPS AT LEAST 10 TO 15 YEARS OLD
    THANKS

    michaels wrote:
The map data held by Navteq is update several times per year, though different sources are used, for example, there is some street-level information gathering but other methods used include taking data from the organisations responsible for maintianing maps in any given country, and also information provided by members of the public like yourself. You can report the missing data here:
    http://mapreporter.navteq.com/?lang=en
A couple of things I hope Nokia considers (already?):
    1. First of all, in my opinion the NavTeq reporting tool is quite messy and hard to comprehend (maybe it is just me). I have registered to it and reported a few findings like missing roads, roads that were on the map but did not really exist (anymore?), some deadends that in reality were open roads etc.
Reporting them through that web page was quite hard, and frankly I had no idea what subcategories (problem modifiers) I am supposed to select for e.g. reporting missing or non-existent roads.
    2. Since Nokia owns NavTeq, shouldn't all the map/POI reports go directly through e.g. maps.ovi.com web page, not some NavTeq reporting tool? Now it seems there are two ways to report point of interests, either through NavTeq map reporting web page, or maps.ovi.com ("Good Things"). Why are there two different sites, and what is the difference? Do any of the "Good Things" in maps.ovi.com ever end up into NavTeq maps as POIs? Which tool should be used to report e.g. some nice hotel or restaurant you found abroad?
    3. Further development: it should be possible to report these with the phone, because normally you notice these errors while you are on the road, and you don't have access to PC there. When you get home, you have probably already forgotten.
To make it more user-friendly, this "device reporting" could store the new POIs, map reports etc. into the device until next time the user goes online with the device/Ovi Maps (a bit like you can synchronize your Ovi Maps favourites nowadays), or connects the device to Ovi Suite. This is basically how e.g. TomTom One navigator worked, you could mark findings on the device, and they would be reported to TomTom when you connected the device to the TomTom Home application on your computer. This option is needed because many people use Ovi Maps in offline mode due to e.g. data roaming charges.
I think Nokia maps team should really concentrate on making the error/POI reporting more straightforward and userfriendly, because that is pretty much the only way to compete with the likes of Google (Maps) etc., where the user community is quite active. Hey, maybe Nokia could even give free Ovi Store credits to users who actively report new interesting POIs and map errors in Ovi Maps???

But recently there is some strange problem using google map which was not before. Now while loading terms and condition page it gives warning message and says: serious error & instruct to restart the app.
