Many 820E errors that we cannot get rid of

We have a Netware 6.5 sp8 fully patched server (including post sp8 patches). We have loaded on this server Groupwise 7 sp4. We are having a lot of troubles with 820E errors on particular user databases as well as many message databases.
The three users in question, often cannot see new mail, even though we see mail for them come in through GWIA.
We have tried rebuilding their database, re-creating their database, running various GWCHECKs against their databases. Nothing seems to get rid of these 820E errors for good.
We do not have any virus protection on the server.
We have downed the post office and renamed wpcsin and wpcsout folders. wpcsout did have a buildup of files in the normal queue (wpcsout\4), until we set those folders to purge immediate.
We have not rebuilt any msg databases yet although we have a number of them squaking at us from the POA screen about 820E errors.
For awhile our server was abending A LOT because we had IMAP turned on. We hooked up about 15 smart phones via IMAP to our system and BAM, we started abending. We have since turned off IMAP until we can solve this problem, and our server is no longer abending.
Also, before this happened we got dangerously low on disk space (about 2% left). We have since added a Terabyte to our data pools and are out of hot water on THAT front.
Also, because of the abending, we moved all of our groupwise modules into protected restartable memory. We have our MTA, POA and GWIA all in the same memory space with our web piece in it's own space.
we continue to have massive 820E errors however. I cannot seem to find anything that is locking these database files. When I check on open files in NORM, I do see these user databases getting more nad more and more connections from the server.
Anyone got any bright ideas?

the reason these modules went into protected mode was because the server was constantly abending w/ IMAP issues when they connected their smart phones to the server. I've since made a separate GWIA only for IMAP which constantly restarts it's memory space w/ these same errors. I suppose I can remove the GW modules from their own address space, since it's not really necessary to protect them anymore, now that GWIA IMAP is isolated.
I do have 3 users w/ 820E and a 4th has surfaced with occasional 820E errors. I don't know if this reflects how much usage the other 3 have compared to this new 4th user. I also get 820E errors on many many MSG databases.
The 3 users are among the largest in the company. I'm not at that site so I can't give you actual figures, but I'm thinking they were in the 13G range, perhaps larger. I was considering archiving all their mail and killing their accounts, then FID change the archives and suck the mail back in, then deal w/ the MSG databases separately. I hate doing that for users that have archived mail in folders, cause bringing it back in stuffs it all into the INBOX. Very messy.

You could try doing a structural rebuild on ALL (as can be specified in ConsoleOne, in the user/objects section of the PO maintenance dialog).
This will rebuild all user and message databases, but will also cause the current indexer files to get disguarded causing a full reindex when the quick indexer next runs. Not to much of an issue, but you'd rather want that happen during off hours as it does affect search and list options.
As for the usrxxx.db files. These should not grow to or beyond 2GB per file.... User databases that are 2Gb or close to that size can/will give unstable results for that user.
Strange issues can pop up when there are underlying issues on the NSS volume, so do keep an eye out there. Also, before running a structural rebuild on ALL, make sure you have a good backup. This structural rebuild in itself should not give any issues, it's something I always do after upgrades and during certain maintenance tasks. It is however good/essential to have a good backup in case something pops up during this routine.
Followup the structural rebuild with a structure-index check with fix selected, and after that content check with fix selected (no structure-index selected) and check the log output of all these jobs.

  • My iTunes store will not open, it keeps showing me a page for 10.3 iTunes that I cannot get rid of.

    I cannot get into my iTunes store, I have an old windows PC that my iTunes is set up to. It keeps showing me a page with information on iTunes 10.3 every time I click on iTunes store & I cannot get rid of it. The links it gives me to download do not work, I have gone to apple.com & downloaded it but it still shows up in iTunes. I have tried everything I can think & every loop hole I can find & I can't get rid of it. I have contact Apple twice in the last two days, once through express lane that said they would get back to me within 24 hours(has been 48 with no response) & once through there 1800 number which gave me a machine to talk to that e-mailed me "tips" that I have already tried.
    Need HELP!

    Sorry but the problem has re-occurred....
    I have to reboot the pc every single time because I lose my taskbar and desktop.  This time I noticed that it said it was loading the HP Adviser....and that is when I got a completely blank screen again. ????   I am at a loss  ???  It has no function keys on it at all...no x to close it....just a blank screen with jsut the words   Internet Protected mode on.   and then the sizing button and the off button next to it...(can be automatically block, choose content to block etc).  Its on off. 
    Now is it co-incidence but it was operating well until Magnetic changed the wallpaper (its supposed to do it every hour) and that seems to be when the issue re-occurred  ???
    Am I just best to uninstall the Magnetic wallpapers and just put up with the boring ones from Windows ?
    I really do not like Windows 7, its not as easy as it makes out...I prefer XP to 7 !!!  At least I learnt how to use that.

  • Bazaar 'specified property not found' error that I cannot get around - LV 6i

    Hiya folks,
    I'm unfortunately stuck with making enhancements to a dinosaur application in LV 6i and am running into a strange issue I can't wrap my head around.
    I have a VI that takes as input a single reference to an array of strict-type clusters.  I would like to access the control references of each control in each element of that array.  Using the standard (or what I believe to be the standard) VI server approach to breaking this down, I am able to get down to a single element of the array, cast it to a strict-type cluster reference, finally exposing an array of control references via a property node (see the attached image).  This is all fine and dandy until I attempt to access that array of control references.  So, referring to the image, the upper thread yields no error in "error out", however the scenario in the lower thread does.
    If I attempt to access ANY other property in that final property node that has nothing to do with references, then everything works great.
    Anybody have any ideas?  Suggestions? Is the fact that these clusters are strict type def that's preventing me from moving forward (the only scenario I have not tested as of yet)?

    My Nugget on Exploiting Control references should be useful. The attached VIs will too new for you to use but I beilve I posted screen shots of everything. The one limitaion that I can warn you about that will prevent you from duplicating those techniques in LV 6i is how I handled Clusters of arrays, of clusters or arrays.... etc. LV 8 or there-abouts added the ability to do complex recursive calls (A cals B that calls A...) But you shouldbe able to code around that detail or ignore it completely if your data structure will never be that complex. Here is a preview of what you will find in that Nugget.

  • I have residual links from an "unauthorized" installation that I cannot get rid of. I uninstalled that copy and re-installed the appropriate version. HELP

    I am getting links to other sites, specifically adobe, that want me to install a certain version, yet Firefox doesn't recognize it. I have tried to delete that link, which comes up on my Spymaster scan and malware scans. I reset my computer with Firefox on the "official" version, and am still getting the same problem.     hello, your system is probably infected by malware/adware. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove FindLyrics 1.111 and Sing Along 1.111 (if it's not possible to delete them, keep them disabled). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • Safari is stalled by a popup window that I cannot get rid of. I cannot access the internet at all.

    and then a phone number for support.
    I am unable to access a safari browser at all.  How do I fix this?

    Before that, when you switched sites did you get a message telling you that the site would no longer support older browsers and wanted to know which one you would use?
    I just quit safari when that came up, ended connection and purged caches, cookies, web stuff etc. - so did not have a problem
    I was switching to this site from another site - and have not had a problem because I did not answer so wondering if I dodged a bullet.

  • Slideshow is causing odd blank gap underneath that I cannot get rid off

    I went to change out the HOME page of a website I built in MUSE months back, and when I switched out images in the Slideshow (which I have done numerous times), there is now a big gap underneath that does not show up in DESIGN or PREVIEW mode, but only when Published. I tried settings, redoing the slideshow, messing around with the parts underneath to see what was triggering the gap. Nothing is working to fix this. I am at a loss. Any ides?

    If the issue persists, try a Cmd/Ctrl + A on the page in Design mode and look for any transparent objects placed on the page leading to a block of whitespace below the slideshow. If that doesn't help, please share the site URL.

    No, this is not a prank, and I would like some serious answers. Is there a Terminal command that I might have done? Maybe a program that I installed? More importantly, has anyone else had this issue before?

    What software do you think might be causing this? I already went through my login items and saw that there was nothing suspicious, but what I'm going to do is remove the stuff I don't need or want and see if that does anything.
    No one has ever experienced this before?

  • When reacharging my iPad, halfway through a window open saying: Cannot back up to iCloud without a veryfied email address..Have got one.  But the problem is I cannot get rid of this screen and therefore cannot use the iPad.  What shall I do?

    You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
    Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for.
