Many applications don't start anymore
Few days ago the problem happened first time. Messages look like this:
Two days ago i reinstalled the system via system revovery (no clean install). After that the system worked fine again.
But today the same problems. F.e. Photoshop won't start anymore. The Message says that photoshop can't open the working volume or that i don't have the right. Use "informaiton" in the finder to unlock the file or a folder.
Today I repaired permissions, checked the volume. Booted with Command-R > Utilities > Terminal > resetpassword > also repaired user permissions
Nothing helps. **** this system ***** so much.
Because of this problem i can't even deactivate my Creative Suite installations and do a clean install.
Someone can help me out? Thanks in Advance.

Various applications don't start (error application quit unexpectedly)
Dear all,
I have my new Macbook for 2 weeks now and up until now was very happy with it, however for a couple of days now it makes some trouble. Certain programs (which actually have perfectly worked before!!!!) won't start anymore. I get the message "The application ... quit unexpectedly, Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click reaunch to launch the application again.)
The programs i have trouble with are teamspeex and disk inventory. I tried updading apple softwares and also reinstalling the whole program, but it doesn't work.
As I am new to apple OS I'm not sure where even to search for a solution.
Could anyone help?

Either something changed in the past week, or the apps preference/cache files may have become corrupted. Try looking in ~(Home)/Library/Preferences and dragging their preference files to your desktop and restarting. Also, in ~(Home)/Library/Caches. You can safely delete these.
EDIT: You might also create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
Another good thing to do would be to contact the developer, if they are still supported.

Java application won't start anymore
Hi,
I am using a Java Application (Protege) that was running just fine last week but today it just won’t start!
When click-on it jumps about 3 time in the dock and stop. I was able to run the connected .jar file but most of the features are not available this way.
I have not done anything special since last week beside Safari update (1.3.2.).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mail, Software Update, other OS applications don't start
I have a PowerPC G4 here at work that is running OS X 10.4.11, which updated four different things this morning, including a Safari update, a Quicktime update, an iTunes and an overall OS update... now I believe the last two did not install properly and when the computer restarted I was unable to open Mail or any other OS applications such as iTunes, and I also can't open Software Update to try to install the updates again.
Has anyone ever had a similar problem or can anyone suggest anything to fix it?
Thanks!The installer will start, you select your language, then when a menu bar appears, select Utilities menu > Disk Utility. You don't have to quit the installer; you do have to run Du from the Du app on the dvd, not the HDD. (If you are running DU from the Utilities folder on your HDD, the Repair option will be grayed out, and Verify will report "The underlying task reported failure on exit.")
Note also that while you must run DU from the Install DVD to repair your disk, you should run DU from the internal HDD to repair permissions. (You can run Repair Permissions from the Install DVD DU, but it doesn't check all the right places.)
The iTunes update should not have caused the issues you are having, but a failed/interrupted OS update can. You can try reinstalling the 10.4.11 combo update manually by downloading it here:

Many applications CRASHING on start up after installing security updates
I recently ran a software update and installed a bunch of updates, probably 2-3 for Mac OS X (security update) and an iTunes one and all the Final Cut Studio updates. After doing this I've been having a lot of problems with programs crashing on start up. Two programs that come to mind are Apple's Motion and the "Stickies" program included in OS X. Is there any way to fix this without re-installing the entire operating system?!
Thanks for the advice baltwo; I followed the suggestions provided in the link and installed Preferential Treatment but the problem is still present with the application "stickies". It doesn't seem to be a preferences issue, since it is exclusive to one account. I tried copying over the StickiesDatabase file from my account to another and then opening stickies only to find it fails to launch in the other account as well. It seems like my StickiesDatabase file may be corrupted? Is there anyway to recover the information in this file?! My main concern right now is just recovering the notes I made in the Stickies.
Btw, I repaired all permissions and did a lot cache clearing and system optimizing and clean up using ONYX, no improvement afterwards.
One other thing: Most other apps are working fine with the exception of a certain project file in Motion 3 crashing on start up..but that's not my primary concern right now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many songs don't play anymore [1.0.10.107.gd0dfca3a]
Not sure if it's only been with this past update but it has been recently. I can't play a good amount of my songs. Examples include The Remedy by Jason Mraz and most songs in the Scars & Stories album by The Fray (At least not the first one in the album). Is anyone else having this problem? I've deleted the Storage folder with all the cache and restarted Spotify. Should my next move be reinstalling it?Well I don't know what to say. After more than a week of trying to find out why iTunes wouldn't play songs and why my system audio was not operating, today I open iTunes and not only are the songs playing as normal but the system audio is operating as well. The warning that my IEEE 1394 Controller could not start has also disappeared.
I didn't do anything other than look around, but for some reason it works now. Case closed I guess! -
Applications don't start (error -10810)
The last couple weeks my Macbook has sometimes been giving me error message -10810 when I try to run applications that aren't already running. This includes Firefox, Dictionary, even System Preferences. Also, when I try to Empty the Trash it says I don't have authorization (I usually do), and I dont think it connects to my printer.
I can get rid of the error message by restarting, but it's annoying to have to restart at least once a day.
I can't find the error code anywhere, so does anyone know what it is? How to make it happen less often?

I think it might be a 4rd party app interfereing, try this at least...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot. Ten Safe Boot agin & see if you get the same errors.

I have an iPad1 which I use for over a year already without any issue. However today I have an issue starting Appss I have installed on my iPad.
They start and immediatly stop... Safari, Mail, Photos, Agenda etc...does still work.... Any idea what this can be?
I restarted the iPad already a few times, however without any result!
I use IOS 4.3.5 (8L1)....so no the laste version...but that shoudn't be an issue.
I have only 62 Apss installed and 24GB is still free..

Most likely I think this is some driver issue but I have no idea how to resolve it? My "old" R9 290X was running without any problems. I did 2 clean installs of Windows 8.1 but it didn't help.
I'm running the latest nvidia driver of course but I'm a bit lost now - do you have any idea what the problem could be?

I also tested the card in my GFs system which has the same issues - it's nearly the same spec though, except that it has a Z87-GD65 Mainboard and only 16GB of RAM. -
On my iPad2 after OS update applications don't start.
There is only a blink of first screen and then nothing. What should I do to fix this problem? Thank you.
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
CVI program won't start anymore
Our measurement application worked well on several PC's (Win7 32Bit, WinXp 32Bit).
But on 2 newer PC's (Win7 32Bit) the application won't start anymore.
The attached Error with the code R6030 shows up.
We found a workaround for the problem: run the application as administrator.
But after we installed a USB-driver, this workaround doesn't help anymore,
and the Error shows up every time.
We installed the environment (cvi-rt, etc...) with an distributed setup.
So the Versions of the components are the same on every PC.
Any ideas?

the cause was, the HP-Software, which was preinstalled on the PC's (the others were Dells)
After uninstalling the HP Security Suite our application works perfect.

We have just upgraded our XI 3.0 to PI 7.1.
The upgrade finished successfully but we encounter problems to access some applications on the java side.
For example the links localhost:port/nwa, localhost:port/sld doesn't work.
In the logs we found that those applications don't start correctly.
Please see one example below.

Some Apps don't start up anymore after upgrading to BB 10.2.1
I have upgraded to BB 10.2.1 today and am pleased to see new features and enhancements.
I also have to report a few issues though:
- startup takes much longer now
- several non native apps don't start up anymore. I even reinstalled some, but that didn't help. Any thoughts?have you tried using Snap?
