Many crashes PE9 Windows7 64bits

I bought a new, faster PC, running on Windows7 64 bits. Instead of less problems, I got more. Every x minutes Premiere Elements 9 crashes.
The Microsoft support site says PE9 is compatible, but where I had no problems in Vista 32bits, I can hardly work now.
MEDION® AKOYA® PC P5703 D, i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460.
Please can anybody help me with this. I have just 450 videosnapshots from my summer vacations

Sorry that the OS transition has not been a smooth and enjoyable one.
I would start with the tips in the beginning of this ARTICLE. After you have worked through those, if things are not better, there are additional links down the article, and they rather work up in levels on tuning the program, the OS and the hardware. Sort of like a DYI book, the links go up in "degree of difficulty," until one finally gets to The Case of the Unexplained.
For Win7-64, be sure to see Black Viper's OS TuneUp site for some tweaks and settings.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • GW 7.0.4 Windows7 64bit Scrolling crash

    Hi,
We have several users running GroupWise 7.0.4 on different Windows7 64bit laptops. If they try to reply to a long e-mail and scroll down to the bottom and then up, GroupWise crashes. If they use the mouse wheel then GroupWise is fine. It only happens when the use the scrollbar. They have different models of Dell laptops. Some are XPS and some are Latitudes. Other users have the same model of Latitude running Windows XP sp3. The XP machines work without issue. Everyone in the office runs Office 2010 and Grouplink's ContactWise. Unfortunatly, the people running Windows7 64 are officers of the company. Getting much time at any of their machines is hard. Right now they use the mouse wheel but they grumble that Outlook won't have this problem.
    Thanks,
    John

Interesting.I have dell laptop, gw 7.04 client, windows 7x64 and do not
experience this issue. Studio 17 model.
    Could this be
some setting in the touchpad? I remember modifying mine quite a bit,
turning off most of the special features.
Does it occur with PGUP/PageDown/Arrow Scrolling?

  • Acrobat Pro XI not working at all in Windows7 64bit - tried everything

I am using Acrobat Pro XI not working at all in Windows7 64bit - tried everything. About a month ago I built new computer. Acrobat worked fine. In last week it started not producing PDFs using Save As and would crash when processing scanned document. So I redownloaded exe file, used the acrocleaner to erase existing program, and reloaded Acrobat Pro XI.
No the program will not start at all. Freezes when opening by clicking PDF file or by opening program icon.

Please try the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Unable to UNINSTALL "hp Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series" from Windows7 64bit OS on HP-8730w

i am unable to UNINSTALL the "hp Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series" from Windows7 64bit OS installed on HP Notebook 8730w Mobile Workstation.
If i click the uninstall button using the original printer driver CD, nothing happens; no error messages either.

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • Can't re-install iTunes on Windows7 64bit PC.

Can't re-install iTunes on Windows7 64bit PC. Tried uninstalling Apple programs in correct order and starting again with new download but I can't install Apple App support which means iTunes won't work. May be something to do with microsoft visual c++ redistributable package x86 which I cannot repair.
    Help please!
    Thanks
    Mike

A hint from another thread suggests that temporarily disabling the Windows Firewall may help with the installation of the C++ Redistributable components.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • IDVD stability is not good, *many* crashes, should I stay or should I go?

OK, I seem to be just the latest to rant on this topic, but I've got a brand new MacBook Pro, with 10.6.2, and if iDVD stays running for more than 10 minutes without crashing I'm doing well. Unlike other posters, I've not yet had a crash while burning. The trouble for me is getting to the point where I'm ready to burn. Just the most basic manipulation of buttons, sometimes just setting text, or placing the button on the page will often result in a crash. I'm now to the point where I save after just about every gesture. Not good!
    Apple, was this thing tested?
BTW, my experience with iMovie has been a little better, but not much. Many crashes, but fortunately not quite as often.
Apple community at large, should I give up on these apps? Am I going to just be endlessly frustrated? Are there new versions in the works? Or at least some serious updates?
Thanks for reading to the end!

The problems I've seen here relate to people updating to Snow Leopard from Leopard or earlier. SL is pretty much a complete rewrite, so I'm not surprised that some folks have problems. Another problem I've seen relates to people who install there own hard drive because there seem to be some EFI firmware issues.
Really, I think it's just buggy software.
I've seen nothing to support that supposition. Like I said, everything works great for MANY of us.
I worked for a long time on Windows with Adobe Premiere and never once had a crash
Now, THAT I find hard to believe
Did you install QuickTime 7 from the install DVD? (It goes in your Utilities folder). I'm not a big fan of QuickTime X when working with some video formats.
I don't have that much video in my current projects (few hundred Gig)
Actually, a few HUNDRED GIGS sounds like a lot to me. Where is it stored? If its all on your internal hard drive you may be having problems with scratch space.
Did you go for the 7200 rpm hard disk drive option (like I did)?

I've updated iTunes to and ATV2 to the lastest version. My laptop is running Windows7 64bit.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I assume you taken the step of restarting the laptop.
Have you checked your security software is allowing access for iTunes, which security software are you using.

  • HP 2000-2209 TU - drivers for Windows7 64bit

    Hi,
I have recently installed Windows7 (64bit) on my Laptop HP 2000-2209 TU.  Since then my Wifi/ Wireless network  is not working.
I tried to download it from the Hp website, but they have drivers for Windows8 only.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Baiju

    You're very welcome.
You need these drivers for the devices you listed...
    Ethernet Controller:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104622-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
Network Controller:  See my instructions below.  I need more info on that.
    PCI Device:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-127099-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
    PCI Simple Communications Controller:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104495-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
SM Bus Controller:  Install this driver first and reboot.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104727-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
    Wireless card (Network Controller):
I will need you to perform a simple set of clicks in order for me to identify the model wireless card that needs the driver.
Since there is no wireless driver installed, there should be a device labeled Network Controller in the device manager under an Other Devices category.  The network controller device will have a little ! mark next to it.
So, find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

  • Windows7 (64bit) and itunes 64-bit installer failing

I'm trying to install the itunes 64-bit installer on my new windows7 64bit system to sync my phone and pad but comes up with the following error
    any ideas?

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

  • 3000 J 115 Vista Premium 32bit - cant boot from CD/DVD drive to do clean Windows7-64bit install

My 3000 J 115 Windows Vista Home Premium desktop configuration is as follows:
    - an EISA area
    - 2 SATA HDD
    - 2 IDE HDD
    - 1 IDE DVD-RW drive
I changed the BIOS boot order so that the CD/DVD drive is first. Upon rebooting, the CD/DVD drive light comes on at bootup time, but later it proceeds to boot from HDD.
I tried removing all other HDDs from the boot device list so that the CD/DVD drive is the only boot device - then I get the msg "NTLDR is missing. Press CtrlAltDel to restart".
The machine will boot only if the C drive HDD is on the bootable device list - the C drive is on the original disk that came with the machine (that disk also has the EISA partition). And then, it wont boot from the CD/DVD even if it is the first on the boot device list. Finally, it shows up all OS's on the OS selection screen at bootup even when the HDDs on which those OS's reside are not present in the boot list (I guess this is again because of the EISA).
I need to boot from the CD/DVD to do a clean install of Windows7 64bit from the bootable Windows installation CD. How can I get my machine to do that? (I checked my jumper and cable settings for the IDE drives and they seem to be ok)

I've had a similar issue trying to install Windows 7 on my mid-2010 MacBook Air, getting stuck at the Mac not recognising the USB Stick as a bootable device.
The rEFIt Toolkit solved this for me - simply install, reboot, and your stick shows up. From there everything was smooth sailing for me

  • Windows7 64bit Client + ActiveX Viewer

Hello,  We have been running Crystal Reports Server for several years with no issues.  We recently started deploying Windows7 64bit on several of our clients desktops.  When they try to load a web report they receive the message to install the ActiveX Viewer.  When they click install they get an error "The Crystal Reports Viewer is unable to create it's resouces".  I have read the KB articel about regiestering the dll from the worksation, but I prefer to have this happen automaticlly like on the 32bit clients.  Does anyone know away to fix this, by the way I'm running version 11.5.3.438 is there a service pack to address this issue?

Win7 in general and win7 64bit inparticular are not supported platforms for your product version.
You'll need to upgrade to Xi3.1 Sp3 , if you want to use Win7 clients.

  • How many crashes have you had today?

    Hi guys!
Just interested to know generally, how many crashes people have per session?
I'm using G5 dual 2.3 Ghz 4.5 GB Ram, with Logic 7.1.1 and OSX 10.4.9
    I regularly have 1 or 2 and sometimes 3!
I have now got used to seeing the familiar pop up "Logic has quit unexpectedly"
    Is this the norm?
    Cheers
    Mike

I haven't had many crashes at all lately. Let me even over-state the case and say that I crash once a week.
But the question is this: what am I doing that causes Logic to crash? I'd say that 99% of the time, crashing can be attributed to one of three things...
    • opening multiple songs at once, where one of them ends up calling for more samples to be loaded into RAM than Logic can handle. It's 75/25 that Logic will crash.
    • Sometimes, using one of Logic's more touch-and-go features (beat mapping, for example) or performing an operation that's inherently buggy will corrupt a song, and that will cause a crash. If I'm able to remedy the problem within the file, no more crashing.
    • something inexplicable that's extremely difficult to pinpoint the cause of, i.e., "who knows". But these are few and far between on my system.
Now... I'm running 7.1.1 on 10.4.5. I have VERY few 3rd party plugs on my system. I can run Mail, Safari, Transmit, Text Edit, Excel, and a variety of other programs all at the same time and, like DR9, I rarely shut my computer off. Sometimes I'll even check my mail while I'm doing a real-time bounce within Logic (hee hee). I say all this to show that crashing isn't necessarily a "given" with Logic, though I will say that it took me a looooong time to arrive at a system configuration where Logic was this stable.
Now#2... recently I was at a studio where I installed Logic 7.1.1 on their system with 10.4.9. It was a ******* nightmare, because Logic was crashing constantly. But then again, so was PT on that same computer... We thought it might be a USB problem, because the crashing seemed to occur on either program when we moved the mouse and activated the dock. Then we thought it might be a graphics problem because the entire computer would hang when one of the funky dialog windows was opened (i.e. Logic's preference windows). Was it 10.4.9 that was causing the problem? Or just a funky system? Hard to say...
The long and short of it is that Logic shouldn't be crashing so often on you like this. Could be a corrupt song, could be that you're trying to do something that Logic doesn't like, could be that your system needs a good clean-up. Who knows, but it's not normal.
I hope you can get to the bottom of it because I know first-hand how ******* annoying this situation is and I feel your pain.

  • Green Screen appears when trying to boot into windows7 64bit using bootcamp

I sometimes get a GREEN SCREEN appearing when i try to boot into windows7 64bit using bootcamp. The computer freezes on this green screen and i have to power down the computer and restart it sometimes twice before it will load windows. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem???
Computer specs: 15" macbook pro, i7 processor, 4GB RAM, 512MB nividia GT330M graphics,
    Bootcamp version 3.0.2, Windows7 64bit ultimate installed on a 100GB partition.

Thanks for responding. I'm actually trying to set up the Mac mii as my VMware ESXi 5 server (per Paraguin software guide, see http://paraguin.com/2012/01/10/the-mac-mini-vmware-esxi-5-server-part-2-installa tion/
Nobody following their procedures and posting on their site has had any (reported) video issues, but that was my guess, that somehow video drivers are not being loaded.
BTW, did you mean "hold the option key" at bootup cause my mac keyboard doesn't have an alt key?
Thanks. Still looking for other options.
