Many events for ID 14554 appearing in System event log
I have two 2008 R2 domain controllers and one new 2012 R2 server I just promoted to DC a few days ago. One of the 2K8R2 servers holds all the FSMO roles. The new 2K12R2 DC is also an additional namespace server for domain-based namespace.
The DFS seems to be working fine, but about every 20 minutes the following 14554 event for 'DfsSvr' is logged:
The DFS Namespaces service has successfully initialized the shared folder that hosts the namespace root. Shared folder: ourDFSnamespace
This event does not appear on either of the two 2K8R2 DCs.
Hi,
My personal opinion is that there are 2 possible cause of this event: It is newly added in Windows 2012 R2 (which means it is not an issue) or the DFS namespace added on your server do have trouble in recognizing.
Currently I did not find enough information about this event log. For a test could you try to remove Windows 2012 R2 as a referral target of this DFS namespace, force an AD replication and re-create it? If the settings is not complex you can have a try with
creating.
In the meantime I'll continue search to see if it is actually just a new event log in Windows 2012 R2.

Dear Technet,
Windows could not start the Cluster Service on Local computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2.
My cluster suddenly went disappear. and tried to restart the cluster service. When trying to restart service this above mention error comes up.
even i tried to remove the cluster through power-shell still couldn't happen because of cluster service not running.
Help me please.. thank you.
Regards
ShamilHi,
Could you confirm which account when you start the cluster service? The Cluster service is a service that requires a domain user account.
The server cluster Setup program changes the local security policy for this account by granting a set of user rights to the account. Additionally, this account is made a member
of the local Administrators group.
If one or more of these user rights are missing, the Cluster service may stop immediately during startup or later, depending on when the Cluster service requires the particular
user right.
Hope this helps.

Continuous "36888 Schannel Errors" in System Event Log when NOT connected to Internet
We are hoping someone will be able to assist with us this very strange issue please ?
We are using Windows 8.1 x64 Enterprise with Office 2013 and the latest Symantec Endpoint Proctecion v12.1.5 installed. They are managed using SCCM2012 in a large AD domain environment
When our workstations are NOT connected to the internet (only local intranet) the following errors appear in SYSTEM event log almost continuously (several times a minute).
Event ID:36888 User: SYSTEM OpCode:Info Level:Error Source:SChannel
"A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 70. The Windows Schannel error state is 11."
The process associated with these events is "Local Security Authority Process"
When an internet connection is enabled for these machines these 36888 errors will suddenly stop !.
An event "Error 36887 "A fatal alert was received from the remote endpoint. The TLS protocol defined fatal alert code is 40." Is also occurring on these machines but only occasionally.
As a result, We suspect there must be a process continuously attempting to connect to an internet service and failing ?.
Some of the things we have tried so far;
- We have disabled all non-essential services (e.g. Windows Store Service) one by one but this didn't fix.
- We have tried disabling Tile updates on Start
- We have tried a bunch of different Group Policy settings to disable different combinations of TLS/SSL in IE config.
- We have searched the internet forums and tried some suggested fixes but this combination of error state and error code seems unique ?.
It doesn't happen on our Windows 7 x64 workstations that have much same apps & configuration.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks.Hi Makes006,
This Event ID 36888 occurs if a user tries to access a web site using HTTP but specifies an SSL port in the URL.
We can try clean boot to troubleshoot whether this issue is caused by a third party program .

If there is no sensible impacts on operating the machines ,we can try to disable this log by modify the following registry key value to 0.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\EventLogging

Start-Up Problem: "Where is System Events?"
My MacBook Pro recently had leopard unexpectedly quit. It happened about two days ago, and I reset the computer as the notification instructed. No problems once that was done, it was back to business as usual. However, leopard just crashed again today, and now, when I start up the computer I receive a prompt that asks "Where is System Events?" and waits for me to choose an application. The items on my desktop seem to be partially loading, with some looking fine, others seemingly unrecognized. What can I do to fix this, and how should that prompt be handled?
Thanks in advance for all your help!Well, with a tip off from another help post, I searched around my Mac for an app of the system events name. Spotlight showed nothing, but under Mac HD > System > Library > CoreServices I found one. So, I pointed the prompt to this file, System Events.app. It did nothing immediate, but upon restarting, everything seems to be back to normal. I suppose the crash somehow disturbed the system's set path for using this file, but after my manual redirection of it, the prompt has not returned, and no further problems have occurred. Sorry to have taken up space on the board when I solved it myself. Hopefully anyone with similar problems might find this note helpful.

Hi,
Is there a way to include events for standard LO data sources ?
There are a list of events that are available for 2LIS_02_ITM and it records all the delta changes as per the events. For 2LIS_02_SCN there is only one event available which triggers only when a purchase order is saved or changed. But since there is no event available for GRn and Invoice reciept for this content no changes are recorded when a GR is done for a Purchase order.
I wish to include events for 2LIS_02_SCN same as 2LIS_02_ITM, is there a way to do so ? Thanks.Hi,

When previewing images by clicking on the thumbnail in an Event for example, I've been finding that many images preview in a 'zoomed in' way so only a small part of the photos is previewed in a highly magnified view.
Initially I could find no cause. Then I tried right click - Edit and on the affected images, always get this warning:
"Image Cannot Be Edited - This photo was previously edited with another application or with an early version of Iphoto. Duplicate this photo to edit it." and a "Duplicate To Edit" Button is displayed.
The external Editor defined for iPhoto is Adobe Photoshop Elements.
Now, I reckon the MUST be others out there affected by this same apparent Preview bug, yet my searches have not revealed any answers. Also seems impossible to find a contact number for adobe???

I'd check my WINS server's registration entries, if they contain an
entry with that NETBIOS name. If the machine with the ip-address
172.20.21.2 is not your WINS server you need to check, what services
etc. are running on that machine. Also look if the domain/workgroup
name, which is used by this machine is correct and identical to all
other machines.

Hi, I need a video editing software for my Power Mac G5 system. Hunted all over for one! Can anyone help me and point me in the right direction. Everything I come across is for intel based systems. Many thanks in advance.
I have Final Cut Studio V1 - the PPC/Intel V5/5.1 cross-grade version, which would suit your requirements perfectly. (I have it for sale at present down here).
If you keep looking, you're sure to find a similar second hand copy in your area, without the need to upgrade your graphics card.
I'd go for Final Cut Pro as above over any version of Express. FCP has the full version of LiveType - not the truncated version that was released later on. -
I have iMovie 10.0.4. When I select an event for 'move to trash' it doesn't appear in the trash to be emptied there. Where is it?
Thanks for the reply, have checked and that seems to be the problem, I have plugged in my ipad and the missing app has appeared.

Event for Cost Planning modification in Project System ( Cj40)
Hi gurus,
I'm unable to find a way to raise an event for the creation of cost plannning trought the CJ40. I've considered everything i know, from status change to exits/badi. Has anyone got similar requierements? ? I've seen some similar question in SDN, buy they are unaswered.
The only idea I have to create a document change from scratch, but i don't know if it it's possible.
Any suggestions.
Regards,
Jose Rovira Ayza
Barcelona, SpainI'm not an expert in the CJ40 transaction so there could be actually a standard solution. As far as your question is concerned, I will assume that change documents didn't work for you (transaction SWEC). If that is the case, have you considered implicit enhancement spots? If not, they could be an option. Basically, you find where the cost planning is saved. I'm talking about where the record is actually inserted into the database. It will typically be a function module. At the end of that function module, create an implicit enhancement implimentation. You need to check if the creation was successful and if so, create an event using function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT. Just make sure you don't set the commit flag if the system is going to commit after the function module is called.

2, Customer clicks the system icon in top-left corner and then select either: "Close" or "Stop Session"
The PAI subroutine of the screen has not been triggered for the above system events.
Thanks for the coming help.

DavidHi Siddharth,
I did check with another very experienced ABAP developer.
The solution was the same as what Arunima Rudra provided.
And I got a sample program which did work properly.
The headache is that the system events in my program still cannot be triggered even after I have all the same changes.
Anyway, I suggest you to try the solution as provided by Arunima Rudra.
It should work for 2 system events:
1, Customer clicks the cross button in top-right corner
2, Customer clicks the system icon in top-left corner and then select either: "Close"
For "Stop Session", it should not be handled by popup.
You can observe the same behavior in ALV sorting configuration popup.
Good luck!
Regards,
David
