Many Exceptions alert level

Hello all:
If we have several exceptions in a query. If threshold value areas overlap when we activate serveral exceptions, the worst (highest) alert level counts.
Is there any way to change to LOWEST alert level count instead.
Best REgards,
Manthana

Thanks Rajana for your inputs, however thats not what Iam looking at. Its more related to Manga's response that is it possible to define new exception alerts. For example in 3.x front end I can see only Good1, Good2, Medium3, Medium4, Bad5, Bad6 exception alerts which are predefined.
My question is; is there an SPRO or a backend configuration setting where we can define more alerts like for example., Critical7, Critical8 etc.,
Please let me know.
Thanks alot!

    Dear SAP Gurus,
    We are getting the following error in Check Database in DB13
    BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: LOG_BUFFER, value: 14254080 (>< 4096,512 KB)
    The current Parameter : 14254080
    We have change the parameter as per SAP Note#830576, still the same error is comming.
    Kinldy Help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Vijay,
    Are you trying to change log_buffer to a smaller size and you can't? If you on Oracle 10g, you won't be able to reduce log_buffer as according to Oracle Metalink 351857.1, "The Log_buffer Default Size Cannot Be Reduced In 10g R2".
    If you are concern about the warning in DB13, go to txn DB17 to change the condition will help to get rid of the warning.

  • Getting so many Exception messages.

    Hi All ,
    We have functional problem like once we run the MRP plan .We get so many exception messages like "reschedule in ,rescdule out,cancel orders" .
    We get these messages more then 700 at one time.We tried following things in order to reduce them-
    1) We used time fence functionality but it didnt work.
    Please let me know what can we do reduce the number of Exception messages.
    Regards
    Ankit

    Prashant,
    I don't believe the exception set will effect the recommendations that you see in ASCP. It does not have controls for that, but rather has controls for triggering exceptions for excess and shortages based on thresholds.
    In ASCP, you can control the threshold for recommendations that you see by changing the 'number of days' from today that you are given recommendations for. Navigation is from the ASCP workbench, tools, preferences, select the "other" tab. Then set the 'recommendation' days.
    regards,
    Kevin

  • BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: DB_BLOCK_CHECKS

    "BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM, value: TRUE (<> FALSE)"
    Other Details :-
    OS :- Win 2003 server
    DB :- Oracle 10g
    So please help on this issue.
    Thanks.
    Regards

    Hi,
    Oracle allows customers to use advanced block checking features to enable a higher protection against hardware and software problems.
    Also with block checking/checksum turned on, it is absolutely necessary to verify your database. Enabling this feature will only find blocks which are touched (read into the SGA).
    Advanced block checking can be enabled by setting either
    db_block_checksum = true
    or
    db_block_checking = true
    The reason for this warning is given in the following SAP Note 923919 - Advanced Oracle block checking features
    Default recommended by SAP is TRUE.
    If this information is helpful please reward points.

    > BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: OPTIMIZER_INDEX_COST_ADJ, value: 20 (<= 20)
    Lets try to understand it.
    1.- It is telling you that your parameter is currently set to 20 (and that is a correct value as per relevant SAP note that you have checked)
    2.- it is telling you that the current value is lower or equal to a specified valued to be checked against (<=20)
    so, what could be the "problem", your parameter setting is OK, and the check is telling you the true, but you do not want the "warning"
    perhaps the check is not properly configured?
    of course 0.o
    it should be checking if the value is different than 20, not lower or equal to 20
    therefore, you have to change the check
    this is done with DB17, go to that transdaction and change the check (perhaps it is DB16, right now I'm not 100% sure which one is display and which one is for change)

  • SQL Exceptions, transport-level errors on SharePoint 2010 App Server

    SharePoint 2010 becomes inaccessible 2-3 times per day. It happens at approximately the same times: 8 PM, 1 AM and 1 PM. It is inaccessible for about 3-4 minutes and then comes back on its own.
    During the time it is down, we see the following errors in the event viewer on the application server:
    EventID: 5586 Task Category: Database -
    Unknown SQL Exception 64 occurred. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server.

    the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)'
    The SharePoint logs have errors during the same time period saying the same kinds of things: Sql exception raw message: A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server,
    The specified network name is no longer available, etc.
    Our network administrator has looked at the issue and cannot find any network problems.
    He setup a continuous ping from the app server to the database server.
    Even during the times these errors are occurring, the app server is still able to reach the database server.
    However, you cannot ping the app server itself during this time.
    Our database administer cannot find any SQL Server issues.
    There are no errors in the event viewer or the SQL logs on the database server.
    In Central Admin, we can see that one or two jobs fail with SQL errors during the times these errors take place.
     It is almost always the “User Profile Service Application – User Profile Language Synchronization Job” and often the “Health Statistics Updating” or “Crawl Log Report for Search Application Search Service Application”.
    These jobs run successfully at many other times during the day.
    Is there a good way to tell if the database, network or SharePoint itself is the root of these problems?
    The database and network guys say there are no problems in their areas, but all I can find in the SharePoint logs is that it can’t reach the database server.
    Thank you for any suggestions you may have!

    Since these seem to happen at very specific times, I would run a NetMon trace at that window to capture what is going back and forth (or perhaps the timer service is just unable to reach the SQL server).

  • Exception Alert in WAD

    is there a way to schedule alerts in WAD for exceptions. Like the manager wants to see a email in the morning every day for any exceptions that occur .
    Thanks

    Hi Amanda,
      You could use the Reporting Agent -> Exceptions.
      Here you have 3 options of dealing with your Exception
      1) Send E-Mail
      2) Create Alert in the Aler Monitor
      2) Export - to be used in a customised WorkFlow

  • How to view exception alerts in a dashboard

    Hi Experts,
    We are currently migrating our system from BW 3.5 to Netweaver 2004s (7.0).
    There were a few Reporting Agent settings which precalculated alerts on exceptions in a query and the alerts could be viewed by the user in a dashboard through web item Alert Monitor.
    In BEx broadcaster, we are able to generate the alerts but how can we deliver the alerts to the users in the same dashboard?
    Any assistance would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek.

    Hi,
    I assume the user has a directory on the server where his/her files go. In this case, you can use Java in a managed bean to access the folder and create a collection of the entries.

  • Many Calendar alerts don't appear

    Does anyone have this problem ?
    I get alerts from only some of my events in Calendar.  It seems random.  I have one event recurring every day but I only get alerts on some days.  Some events have never popped an alert.  Some events which I imported from an earlier version of iCal pop alerts while others don't.  Similarly, some that I've entered since upgrading to Mavericks pop alerts while others don't.  Sometimes, I don't get an alert after snoozing an earlier alert (eg. snooze 2 days - no alert after two days).  It seems completely random.
    When I check Notifications, the old events are missing, as if I've dismissed the alert - but there wasn't one.
    I have checked my settings: Notifications Centre has alerts set for Calendar.  Do Not Disturb is off (I do get some alerts but I checked anyway).  There are supposed to be 20 past notifications showing in Notification Centre for Calendar but there are none - all are in the future.
    When I open some events, the alert settings don't show if they are the default.  Is that normal ?  Either way, that behaviour doesn't seem to correlate with non-showing of alerts.
    What could be causing this random non-appearing of alerts ?
    Many thanks.
    Garry

    Garry, I have the same issue that you've described. So far, I've had no success in debugging it, or in finding a solution online.
    I'll keep searching, and if I find some useful info (or better yet, a solution), I'll post it.

  • ToyStore Unexpected exception / Entity Level validation check question.

    Hi,
    JDev 10..1.2
    I'm using the ToyStore Exception/Error handler.
    I added an Entity level validation test by adding following test in the validateEntity method of my entity:
    protected void validateEntity()
    super.validateEntity();
    if (this.getAccountStatus() != null && this.getAccountStatus().compareTo(Constants.NUMBER_20) < 0)
    throw new JboException(ErrorMessages.class,"14000",null);
    In the ErrorMessages class I added following line to the message array:
    { "14000", "Entity validation ERROR" }
    I would have expected to see this error in the "global error section" but the exception was handled as a "unexpected exception" and was shown in the stack trace but not in the generated page.
    Could you please tell me how to write an entity level validation error in the validateEntity method so that it gets displayed in the global error section?
    I succesfully added attribute level validation and it gets displayed at the attribute level.
    Here's the stack trace, notice that the message is retrieved from my ErrorMessages.class:

    More info:
    If I write:
    <html-el:errors/>
    I get all the errors displayed.
    My purpose is to display the attribute level errors next is to each attribute and the Entity level errors at the top.
    So at the top I wrote:
    <html:errors property="<%= ActionErrors.GLOBAL_ERROR %>"/>
    I added following trace:
    At the beginning of the processException method:
    System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".processException, ex: "+ex.toString()+", ex.getClass().getName(): "+ex.getClass().getName());
    In the if block:
    if (attrName == null) {
    String errorCode = jboex.getErrorCode();
    globalErrs.add(jboex.getLocalizedMessage(locale));
    System.out.println("attrName == null, errorCode: "+errorCode+", jboex.getLocalizedMessage(locale): "+jboex.getLocalizedMessage(locale));
    My trace:
    05/08/10 12:19:44 com.photoswing.webview.actions.AccountCreateAction.processException, ex: oracle.jbo.RowValException: Failed to validate a row with key null of type WebAccountAM.AccountTestView1, ex.getClass().getName(): oracle.jbo.RowValException
    05/08/10 12:19:44 com.photoswing.webview.actions.AccountCreateAction.processException, ex: oracle.jbo.JboException: Entity validation ERROR, ex.getClass().getName(): oracle.jbo.JboException
    05/08/10 12:19:44 attrName == null, errorCode: 14000, jboex.getLocalizedMessage(locale): Entity validation ERROR
    Remark:
    AccountId => pk, not mandatory,refresh after insert => sequence fetched in pre-insert trigger

  • CP6 - too many smart shapes / levels on one page?

    Hi all,
    While creating a new project in Captivate 6, I used smart shapes as buttons with advanced interactions to show and hide product features. These product features in itself can have subsets of information that I want to show when the user asks for them.
    So on the second level, I again used smart shapes for that information (e.g. a list of three). I grouped them to avoid too lengthy an advanced interaction. Upon publication, however, and rather peculiarly, the first smart shape in the list did not work. I checked and rechecked (and then checked again ) all interactions and they were correct. Moreover, when I switched the first and second item in the list (i.e. physically moved them on the page), the problem did not move along: it remained with the (now new) first item in the list. Which means that it is not a mistake in the advanced interactions.
    I have tried to find a solution for this, but eventually had to revert to using separate slides for the separate features and then the smart shapes worked fine (without changing the logic behind them).
    Has anyone else encountered this, or am I doing so onviously something wrong that I've failed to notice? It looks like Captivate stumbles on the number of levels on one slide?
    Thanks.

    PS: I'm new to this forum, so if this question has been asked (and answered) before, I apologise. I couldn't find it.

    Hi,
    thanks for the treply. Unfortunately (and carelessly) I chucked the .cptx that didn't work and stuck with the workaround. So I can't remember exactly how many levels (guessing three levels of smart shapes on top of each other.
    Elsewhere on this forum, we found that if two buttons are on top of each other (invisible or not) could interfere with each other. My guess is the same happened with the first smart shape in ly list, that it got interfered with by an invisible button.
    In the end, the customer found the non-linear navigation too complicated so we had to go for a linear slide per slide approach anyway.
