Many many problems (I think because of windows 7)

I would love to have some help on this issue...I have several things happening to my new i pod touch every time I hook it up to my computer:
-Sometimes when I try to put on a movie it stops halfway through and says something like "IPod has timed out"
-I try to sync a bunch of music onto my IPod and only about half of it works (the other half pauses and won't play)
-Sometimes it says that it cannot recognize my IPod because of some unknown error
My friend thinks its because for some reason I have the wrong driver (we tried uninstalling both the IPod and ITunes multiple times) My computer is a AMD 64 bit Turion.
I've been trying very hard to figure this issue out! I really don't want to return my new Ipod!

Plausibly it might be due to your Windows 7. By any chance, do you have an nVidia USB ECHI chipset and at least 4 GB of RAM? If so, see the following Microsoft document:

Many small problems in Mavericks
When user experience many small problem in daily work, I feel the design is failed.
Memory management has a lot of problem, I feel my macbook is abnormal slow after I upgraded to Mavericks. Sometime, I need to wait for several sec to get what I want.
I think this problem is extreme important for OS.
When I want to start a probelm, click once, no response, click twice, pop-up 2 times after 5 sec.
Then i change my way of work, clock one time, work on other task. 5 sec later, multi desktop switch the desktop to the starting program. Then, I don't know what I was doing.
Another is sound problem, sound doesn't work sometime and need some kind of procedure to get it back.
Please don't ask me do something to solve the problem everytime when it happen. It is OS task to work it properly.
Whatever how many great feature you added is meaningless if user daily experience is bad.1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to gather information about the state of your computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it on this page. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a couple of minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in your browser, and you can then copy it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign ($) or a percent sign (%). If you get the percent sign, enter
exec bash
in the window and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
8. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If it happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Startup problems and many other problem... APPLE CARE DON'T FUNCTION !!!!
Hi, and sorry for my bad english...
I have imac 27" refurbished bought on september 2010. When startup process proceed correctly and i can use the computer, there are many many many "blocks" of normal operating: it appears the colored circle and the system is always "busy", although there are no application open!!! When skype is open, it always lost the already saved password. Safari lost all the login saved password. I can't drag files into the basket or create a folder! (message error).
But the big problem is: startup process failure almost always!!! Startup is ok only if the computer was off during some hours. After the first startup, i can't restart (manual or automatic restart, in any case...) it appears green screen with the green apple, and the rotating cirle forever.....
So, i have tried many solution:
- check and repair HD using utility disk: FAILED
- check and repair permits using utility disk: FAILED
- format the HD using utility disk with OsX dvd: FAILED
- reinstall OS X: FAILED
I gave the iMac at applecare centre to repair, two times!! 2 TIMES in 1 month !!
- first time: replaced HD
- second time: replaced mother board
In both times, the repairs DON'T FIX THE PROBLEMS....
THE PROBLEMS REMAIN THE SAME (like a led zeppelin song...)
So, i think: maybe the cause was not the HD, maybe not the mother board... WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?????
Even the autorized apple assistance centre can't find e repair the problem, what i have to do???
I think that Apple should replace the product or refund me...
but, i know, APPLE THINK DIFFERENT...

I'd like to find in this forum some answers about some little questions. I try to do it:
1) when i try to initialize "Macintosh HD" appears this message: "Disk initialize failed - POSIX reports: The operation couldn't be completed. Cannot allocate memory". WHY? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
2) If i try to reinstall OS X appears. "IMPOSSIBLE TO INSTALL MAC OS X ON COMPUTER". WHY?

My iMac, OS 10.7.5, is abnormally slow on start-up, taking many minutes for my password sign-in window to show up. I've run Disk Permissions and have verified my hard drive and all is in order. What do I do to start up my Mac in a normal manner?

Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged after the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes after the boot time, not before. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful. -
Playback speed in Sample Editor window many, many times faster than track (at correct speed) in arrange area. How do I sync Sample Editor playback speed to correct speed/tempo in arrange area? Track is spoken word. Sample Editor playback sounds like Alvin on a meth binge. Spoken phrase is generated from Textspeech. Textspeech can export files as WAV files or MP3 files. Perhaps a clue?: When exported Textspeech WAV file is dragged and dropped into track in arrange area of new project, it exhibits same supersonic speed. When Textspeech file is exported as MP3 file and dragged and dropped in arrange area track, it plays at correct speed.

If nothing else, this huge list of updates and fixes, shows clearly that the Logic Dev team is working hard on fixing and improving LPX to a major degree.... and from the list of fixes done.. show they do read the bug reports submitted!
As an aside....
I recall how all the 'naysayers' prior to LPX (and in some cases, since...) were proclaiming how Logic was dead, the team was being disbanded, we won't see any further development, the Dev team doesn't listen or care... and so on....... I wonder where those people are now? -

I have a problem with iPhone is that I can replace it at points of sale in the U.S. because I bought from Saudi Arabia because the problem I think in the hard ware I do resoftware more than 3 times did not fix.
Network also always missing.

iPhone to Saudi Arabia for repair/replacement. Either take it back
yourself or send to friend/relative for them to take to Apple. Apple
will not accept international shipments for repair nor will Apple
ship repaired/replaced iPhones out of the country where the repair

When copy my IPhoto 7.1.5 Library from my IMac and open it on my MacBookPro, which has IPhoto'09, many albums/slideshows are lost because IPhoto '09 insists that I click on 'upgrade' before it will open the 7.1.5 Library. Help!
The library is damaged in some way.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -

Open System Preferences and go to Accessibility. Next, select Display from the source list along the left, then check the box labelled Reduce transparency.

Among many other problems, itunes doesn't play music, it get stuck, quicktime doesn't load, can't desinstall quicktime and install again, I've tried every version of itunes but every time I install it it tells me something funny about quicktime(desinstall firsta and then try again) but the thing is that won't desinstall.

I purchased an used iPod Nano 4th.with many,many,many songs and albums on it,but when i plugged the usb cable into my laptop(i am a new comer to computer) i thought i was changing the name and thought i was syncing but something went wrong and everything was gone! is there any way possible to get these back? Was the music purchased via your iTunes account and/or did you buy it from other sources or copy it from your own CDs, or did the music belong to the previous owner ? If the music was yours then you can sync it back to the iPod via your computer's iTunes. If the music is not still on your computer then have you got a backup of it ? If not then for iTunes purchases you might be able to re-download it depending on which country you are in. If the music was put on the iPod by the previous owner then you will need to buy your own copies of it.

Any takers on what is going wrong?The error message indicates that you're trying to take an object looked
up in PM1 and set it as a relation to an object looked up in PM2. You
can't mix objects from different persistence managers like that. -
IMac (27", mid 2011) slowed with many, many errors on startup...help?
My iMac (27", mid 2011) has slowed and gives many, many errors via Console. I have Zapped the pRAM, used safe start, Etresoft check, and a complete check with TechTool. I'm running out of ideas except to reformat and start again. Here are a few lines from Console on today's startup and the results from EtreCheck. Any ideas?

joe holly1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.

☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.

4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Seeing all these little problems, I think I might just return my new MacBook...
I'm a heavy PC user switching over to Mac because of all the hype and positive comments I've heard from others, but seeing all these little problems everyone is having doesn't motivate me to continue.
Few days after I got my MacBook (somewhere else) I took it with me to a Mac Store in the mall. I was excited until I was basically told I wasn't worthy because I got it somewhere else. That made me feel really good. I think I'd rather my PC; I'm just not seeing the real benefits to sinking two grand down on something I could easily get for a fifth of that.
Anyone want to help with my baptism into the world of Mac?I am being careful not to stub my toes since this is only my sixth day with my newly-entered Mac experience. I like the MacBook so far. I suppose most of my issues are geared towards being a new Mac user, but I am sure functional issues are yet to arise and surprise. I haven't seen many, if any, functional problems yet, probably because I don't know what to look for and Mac is new to me.
I have everything up and running, i.e. emails, internet, etc. I upgraded to Lion (was told I wouldn't have to pay for the upgrade, but I did because I couldn't find the way around the payment button).
I have been through many a PC over the past 15 years and know what I know in terms of programs and their tools, at least the ones I use. Familiar story, perhaps? With Mac it seems I have to relearn everything, as I will explain a little more below. I like having a number pad and both delete and backspace keys. Many of the programs, applications, downloads and software I run on my PC are either not compatible with Mac (and a wheel-less mouse) or they are just not the same in terms of set up and use. For instance, in PC, Firefox allows me to close the program and reopen all my tabs when I come back. Not so in Firefox with Mac, or at least I didn't find that option.
The most improtant factors for my dicision to Mac-Up were primarily
1. The security
2. The speed
3. Creative aid programs
Example- With the PC programs I have used, I was able to simply play and learn. Not so thus far with some of the I-stuff. The tools I know and use everyday with PC programs are there, I just don't know where to look to find them or what they are called.
Example- How do I shutdown a program that doesn't want to shutdown? Searching help to "force shutdown" doesn't produce any solid results.
I went to the store where I purchased my MacBook. While there, another customer was asking about features. I rested my attention over the Mac instructor's shoulder to listen and learn (and a lot I did learn), but I realized that of all the things I was doing with my PC programs, despite having the ability to do the same with Mac programs, they were all called something different and/or used a little bit differently. For example, in MS Pub, its a Transparency tool; in Pages its an alpha tool. Stuff like that. For me, little stuff like that can really eat up a lot of time. It would be different if I was just starting my computer journey, but such is not the case. -
Fireworks CS6 opens with many many files, and then stops. time after time. What to do now?
Suddenly my Fireworks CS 6 will not open, that is, it opens and then starts to open many many .png files I worked on before (really I think it opens more then 40 + very fast and then the program quites with an error.
