Hello everyone,
1 - I am trying to use two many-to-many transactions on the same page. Everything seems to be working except that the supplemental fields are not inserting or updating into the database. No error is being returned.
2 - Is there a way to validate the data that is being entered via these supplemental fields? I want to check that any item that is checked actually has a cost entered for it.

OK.. so I have figured out the problem with the first part of my question. It seems that there is a bug in the ADDT many-to-many wizzard when there are more than one of them in a form. The first transaction is referred to in all of the code as mtm_<whatever the fields are>, subsequent fields are referred to as mtm1_<whatever the fields are>, mtm2_<whatever the fields are>, etc. It seems that the wizzard does a good job of re-numbering all of these EXCEPT when it comes to the form's boxes name and id for any supplemental fields. I had to re-number them from mtm_<blah blah> to mtm1_<blah blah> and now they work... Now onto the second part of my question. A Read

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I want to use the same computer to sync and backup many iOS devices. The iOS devices would be associated with different Apple IDs.
I may load apps under a school Apple ID and have users load their own apps under thier own ID.

I know that there are limits on "authorize" and "de-authorize" and how frequently those things can be done.
Recently I heard that for the life of an iOS device, it can only be associated with five Apple IDs. That is not good for a school giving iPads to students in a 1:1

Many iMovie to DVD Questions

OK, guys, I'm in over my head here.
Working on the 3-night project shot last week. Will be making DVDs out of this project. Shot with HV30 in 30P mode, last night in Cine, too. Film noise/grain PLUS not best audio first 2 nights because shooting from too far away & bad lighting.
1. For making DVDs, is it best to use iMovie HD6, 08, 09 (bought, but not installed yet), (or even FCE4-no experience with this at all, but have access)?
2. Every time I've used iMovie HD6 or 08 in the past, when it gets to iDVD 08 it turns my Widescreen footage to Standard (I'm playing it on a Standard TV & want letterboxing) although it's Widescreen when testing iDVD project before burning. How do I keep it Widescreen??? This has been driving me crazy for awhile.
3. As for sound, I tried boosting in iMovie HD 6 and it didn't sound that great. In iMovie 08, I remember you can boost up to 200% and normalize. Does that turn out better and is it worth the tradeoff if the final product (DVD) doesn't have as good picture quality as HD 6? For last 2 nights, I also recorded audio on a digital voice recorder. Is it worth it ( and HOW TO do it, no clapboard used) to try to use this audio in conjunction with the video shot and not the audio from the camcorder?
4. Also, is tonight the time to upgrade and install 09? Or is it going to mess me up too much mid-project and DVD quality not as good and I should wait?
5. Any plug-ins to reduce film noise/grain?
6. Finally, what settings in iMovie 08 & 09 are best for exporting when final product is DVD? Been very confused with the Apple Forums discussion boards threads on "deinterlacing is not deinterlacing."

For doing a DVD I would only use iMovie HD 6 or FinalCut any version.
If You are not use to FinalCut this can be a *big step up in learning* but when done
very revarding.

Not sure but I would make a WideScreeen project in iMovie HD 6 and when done close
iMovie open iDVD and select a 16x9 project then import the iMovie movie project into iDVD (icon with a Star on it)
(I never use the "Share(Export to iDVD" function in iMovie
One can force Letterboxing by starting a 4x3DV project, then import a still photo that
locks it to this. Now import Your 16x9 video and it will be forced into letterboxed 4x3.
Burning this as a 4x3 DVD should keep it letterboxed.

To increase audio volume -
• Select video clip
• Goto Advance then down to Extract Audio
• Increase this to 150%
• Select original video clip and restore audio to 150% too
Now You got 300%
If You need more then copy the audio clip and paste it ontop of itself as many time as needed
Quality. Increasing = more audio problems.
alt. is to export out audio (as QT .aiff) and adjust it in an another program as
"Audacity" (free) or in SoundSoap™ if You got ayn this (or by all means use GarageBand)
Sync.
To sync external audio recorders - Tough often near impossibly. The device has
to have a TimeCode to be able to keep sync. There are no easy solution as I know of.

I would not - neither iMovie'08 or 09 will work optimal if You want a DVD as result.
I NEVER change anything Mid-project (Mac OS, QuickTime or program version)

Don't think so but by exporting out or using FinalCut there are good tools in
QuickTime, GarageBand, Audacity, SoundSoap and FinalCut

DE-interlacing is not the problem - It is that both 08 and 09 delete every second line
when going to iDVD. Sharpness is degraded. iMovie HD or FinalCut doesn't do so but
let You have full quality.

HT4236 Many Storage & Syncing Photos Questions for a Genius

I am using Windows Live Photo gallery to import pictures taken on my iphone to the My Pictures folder on Windows 7 and choose the option to delete these images from the device during transfer.
At the same time, I have iTunes configured to automatically synchronize the My Pictures folder onto the iPhone.
I'm a bit confused and concerned if I'm messing this up both by opting to "delete images from device" during photo import and at the same time "synchronize".
Is it smart enough to know what photos are new and have never been transferred vs. photos that are sourced from the PC and synced?
Can someone please comment on this?
When syncing photos to the iPhone, is there downscaling of the image happening so that it is lower resolution on the iPhone than the source image on the PC?
Further, what happens when you exceed the storage capacity on your iOS from syncing so many photos?
I'm not there yet, but will be soon. Will it start to drop the "oldest" pictures first?
Where is the option to specify a threshold for how much storage on the iOS device should be dedicated to photos vs. music? I don't want all these pictures eating into space I could use for music.

Well for the first part of your question "Itunes says 6.96 GB ipod says Used: 7.26GB" thats where you have a playlist or something selected in iTUnes.
If you have a playlist highlighted in iTUnes, it shows the size of everything in the playlist, not the main library. Then when you connect the ipod, the ipod part shows the total size used on the ipod, in other words the whole size of the library.
FOr the fragment part of your question, NO do not fragment it with windows. It doesn't matter how fragmented the harddrive on the ipod is because its accessing only music. You use the ipod updater to restore an ipod, which basicly formats and defrags a ipod http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/

In Launchpad, many icons are simply question marks

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and I'm trying to get into the habit of using Launchpad to open applications instead of of the Finder. When I launch Launchpad, many of the icons are translucent question marks instead of an actual icon...the application name is still listed below the quasi-icon. What gives? Oddly, some of the ghost icons are for applications that are native to my iMac...like QT player, GarageBand, Calculator, iPhoto etc. There are 8 pages of applications and many of them are repeats.
I'm wondering where Launchpad goes to find the listed apps...if I knew I cold possibly remove some duplicates.
Also, when I try to open many of the applications, nothing happens...the application doesn't open. Also launchpad stays active as opposed to going back to my desktop (which is what happens when I click on an empty space). It's as if I haven't clicked anything at all.
If anyone has some idea how to pear down my bundle of applications, let me know.

You could try having LaunchPad rebuild its database, as detailed in this article:

Many doubts about your questionable "change for better" new conditions

I Am an early adopter of Revel and a satisfied customer. I upgrade my account some months every year if I have done more than 50 pics I want to save on Revel. When downgrading my pics remain on Revel. Fantastic!
With the new terms I would have to pay for a permanent upgrade as my account raises the 2Gb free that you are offering.

Asking for iCloud account name and password to play iTunes radio when I have done it in the past many times without this question. Will not accept my apple id and password. Will not save my changed password. Where do I start?

I have a MAC with OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2, 8GB, 2.7 GHz, intel core i5. Until 2 days ago, I could click on iTunes radio, pick my station and listen. Then 2 days ago, I do this and system asks for my iCloud account id and password. Does not recognize apple id or password. I change the password, does not save it. Screen that lists 2 step verification asks for added security questions, I do those and still will not allow me access. What do I do and where do I start? I thought I should download the update to OS X. I did that, still no change. Please help direct me to where I need to go to fix this problem.

Restoring an iPad from an iTunes-generated backup should not require an Apple ID password.
Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password.

New user, many dimensions and facts question

I am just wondering how others layout their model when they have 30 dimensions and 5 fact tables.
For example:
fact 1 uses 10 dimensions.
fact 2 uses 5 dimensions
fact 3 uses 3 dimensions
Would you use 1 relational model and add all of the entities to the model? As you can imagine, the model gets to be quite busy. I've tried to add multiple relational models, but then I end up duplicating entities and worry about changes being made in only one place for the entity. Is a subview on the relational model per fact table a good way to go?
I'm open to any suggestions.

Hello Brian,
In fact you can use both options you mentioned:
1- you use one relational model and split it up on in several subviews. In your case a fact per subview could be a good solution.
2- you use one relational model per fact. To prevent duplicate entities among relational models, you can link tables instead of making copies. You can make a link of a table by dragging the table into the subview of another relational model.
You can of course mix both models by using multiple relational models and have in a relational model multiple views.

Many a few 3GS questions

1) What is the (average?) battery life that has been estimated around the boards for a good, or above good, model of 3GS with the normal functions on?
2) I have read that push drains battery life substantially, and yet the mobileme function thrives on having push function on. How does that correlate, and what's the balance that fellow users have found?
3) Next to my battery gauge, there is a phone-shaped icon, any one know what that is?
4) How do you check what apps are actually running, and what are not? (doesn't the home page supposedly close the apps?)
5) The carrier option is no longer in my settings page, as opposed to when it was when i was traveling abroad. Is that the case with AT&T available as your primary service? I'm trying to change the "auto-choose carrier" option off.

1- Looks like average time with push on is between 4.5-5.5 hours. Without push people are getting about 5.5-7 hours, but it really does depend what you do. This is with little or no gaming (which uses the 3D graphics and kills battery much faster).
2 - Yes, push email drains battery much faster than just fetching. Also, Location Services will drain your battery quickly as well, so if you are not using GPS or any other apps, I'd recommend turning this off. I also see an improved battery life (only slightly though) for disabling "Find My iPhone". Saved maybe 15 minutes or so, and will most likely turn it back on.
3- Already been answered above
4- Unfortunately there is no way to check which apps are running at the moment, legally. Mail is always on, iPod is usually on, and the Phone is always on (I know the iPod turns on sometimes on it's own because I jailbroke my 2G phone and was able to install an app which tells me). The way the OS is now, if you are at the home screen, there should be no app running in the background besides the few I mentioned above.
5- With an AT&T SIM card, you will most likely not get the carrier option unless you install some additional profile for it, or modify your OS. This is normal, and is locked down by AT&T. As you mentioned, that option does become enabled if you insert a 3rd part SIM card, but it will have to be unlocked by AT&T first. And about that auto-choose carrier option, in the US, unfortunately there is only one at the moment so it has auto-chosen for you already.

Here TARGETSYSTEM values are SAPG1,SAPG2 and SAPG3
for each one HEADER and ITEMHEADER i have to create one idoc in the respective receiver system based on the TARGETSYSTEM value.
Based on the TARGETSYSTEM value, idocs should be created in to the respective system.
But problem is :
Its creating 3 idocs in first system, same 3 idocs in second system and same 3 idocs in third system also.
But i want to create one idoc in 1st system and second idoc in 2nd system and third idoc in 3rd system based on the TARGETSYSTEM value.
please help me, how to solve this problem

appriciate for doing file to muliple idocs first
without BPM, u can do this scenario ok
but while doing this scenario, u have to do idoc with max occurence ie first, after importing idoc, u have to export to xml file and change occurence inplace of "min occurence " write " min. occurence and Max. occurnce=" and then import this in External definition then u can use this in scenario for multiple idoc. Here don't require more interface mappings ok. u can do this only with one interface mapping. while generating idoc, at the time u have to save and send as multiple idocs how many u have to send to receiver systems just give the no how many idocs.
Even though you won't get it i will send file to multiple idoc scenario ok

Well, no, because 4 or 5 times a year, someone writes in with pretty much exactly your question because they too have had a message refused with the "too many recipients" warning. We suggest they use a Mailing List and all is well.

Looking For Help Performing a many point to many network reachability validation with a script after a Major Routing Modification

I have inherited a network that was not put together so well...as it has 50 sites but 11 points of mulual redistribution between OSPF and BGP.
The result is not surprising some route paths that although stable are asymmetrical and they cause issues for certain applications....like Voice and RDP.
This evening I have a maintence window to try to fix this.
I need to validate with ping and traceroute from many points (Cisco Siwtches and Routers) in the to many points in the network.
Can anyone point me to a TCL Shell script that would serve as an example of how to accomplish this?
Please be advised that I am only nominally functional with TCL shell scripting language.
