Many more selection methods!! Period!!
Hi everyone, and especially you, the developers of Illustrator and other Adobe programs...:
I work a lot in both 3ds Max and Illustrator, and I often find myself working with hundreds of thousand polygons. The selection tools are so cool in 3ds Max, and give me every option of selecting faces on a complex model... For instance - just naming SOME options available in 3ds Max:
Rectangular selection.*
Circular selection
Fence selection (selection in perfect straight lines)
Lasso Selection.*
Paint selection (like a brush - everything within the stroke gets selected)
Soft selection (Selection method using a tolerance setting, see reference picture: http://fanous.persiangig.com/egg/egg03.gif )

Another thing I think is missing in Illustrator is the ability to "make selection from guides" - because, you already have the ability to make costume guides, but you can't make a selection out of them ( as far as I know?)
There are soooo many tips and tricks you developers of Adobe products could "borrow" from 3ds Max... Fx. clicking on the scroll wheel on the mouse as the "Hand tool" instead of the "Space command" on the keyboard. In Indesign it is especially a pain in the ***, when you are in the middle of writing text, and just need to have a look further down on the page, then you get a double space in the text when clicking space. - Imagine how easy it would be with a click on the scroll button on the mouse instead?!

Why are there so many more choices on the USA iTunes Store? Surely having an iTunes account should let you access all itunes availability the world over?

I synced my iPhone with itunes and iMac and got many more contacts than I wanted on my iPhone. How can I delete quite a few of them at one time as opposed to deleting one at a time?
iTunes does not handle the import of photos/videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll.
If this is not the computer you sync your iPhone with, you should have been provided a warning message that your iPhone is associated with an iTunes library on another computer and when trying to transfer any iTunes content from a different computer, a warning message is provided indicating that all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first.
When connecting an iPhone to iTunes on another computer, none of the options under the various tabs for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes are selected automatically. This means you had to select Sync Contacts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your wife's computer.
Assuming you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, connect your iPhone to Tunes on your computer and without syncing, under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences below the Advanced section, select Contacts for replace info on this iPhone followed by a sync.
For importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll which can be done with a computer that is not used for syncing the iPhone since syncing with iTunes is not involved.

Add Suppporting Details for more than one periods at the same time for the same Account in Planning.
As we know, in planning form, we can add supporting details to one cell for the level 0 members intersections.
But can we do that as below:

I have tried in Smartview for a simple form where my period dimension was in columns and accounts in rows.
You need to select multiple period and select supporting details, it will show those selected period for which you can add the supporting details.
You can add these details and then submit the data in the form.

I need a more efficient method of transfering data from RT in a FP2010 to the host.
I am currently using LV6.1.
My host program is currently using Datasocket to read and write data to and from a Field Point 2010 system. My controls and indicators are defined as datasockets. In FP I have an RT loop talking to a communication loop using RT-FIFO's. The communication loop is using Publish to send and receive via the Datasocket indicators and controls in the host program. I am running out of bandwidth in getting data to and from the host and there is not very much data. The RT program includes 2 PID's and 2 filters. There are 10 floats going to the Host and 10 floats coming back from the Host. The desired Time Critical Loop time is 20ms. The actual loop time is about 14ms. Data is moving back and forth between Host and FP several times a second without regularity(not a problem). If I add a couple more floats each direction, the communications goes to once every several seconds(too slow).
Is there a more efficient method of transfering data back and forth between the Host and the FP system?
Will LV8 provide faster communications between the host and the FP system? I may have the option of moving up.

Sounds like you might be maxing out the CPU on the Fieldpoint.
Datasocket is considered a pretty slow method of moving data between hosts and targets as it has quite a bit of overhead assosciated with it. There are several things you could do. One, instead of using a datasocket for each float you want to transfer (which I assume you are doing), try using an array of floats and use just one datasocket transfer for the whole array. This is often quite a bit faster than calling a publish VI for many different variables.
Also, as Xu mentioned, using a raw TCP connection would be the fastest way to move data. I would recommend taking a look at the TCP examples that ship with LabVIEW to see how to effectively use these.
LabVIEW 8 introduced the shared variable, which when network enabled, makes data transfer very simple and is quite a bit faster than a comparable datasocket transfer. While faster than datasocket, they are still slower than just flat out using a raw TCP connection, but they are much more flexible. Also, the shared variables can fucntion in the RT fifo capacity and clean up your diagram quite a bit (while maintaining the RT fifo functionality).

I have a 2009 MB Pro. I have been trying to do some cleaning of files and discovered that in Finder, All Images, I am experiencing a frustrating problem. First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Universal Entity EJB find/select method for single db table

I'm quite new in bea spheres and my question reflects my small knowledge:
Is there any way to perform "universal" sql query on single database table via find/select methods? This means, that I would like to pass whole WHERE clause to these methods, not just some fields values.
What do I mean?
Normally we define find/select method that looks like this one:
SELECT OBJECT(o) FROM Cities AS o WHERE population>=?1 AND state=?2
We call this a method this way:
finder1 (1000000, 'France')
Method returns collection with objects holding data about cities in France with more than 1000000 inhabitans..
But, I want to define method, that could be called this way:
finder1 ("o.population>=1000000 AND o.state='France'")
This method should be able to perform any query on 'Cities' database table.
I tried with defining find method for following query:
SELECT OBJECT(o) FROM Cities AS o WHERE ?1
but it does not work, of course.
Is there possibility to define method that could be called this way?

The 'Dynamic Query' feature of WebLogic 8.1's EJB container can help you here. This feature enables you to execute complete EJB QL queries that are constructed on the fly. Check the WebLogic 8.1 documentation for more details.

2. Bind this action to Table property "onLeadSelec"
3. In wdModify()

- don't register interest in things that can't happen
- when you connect register based on whether the connection is complete or pending.
- add the OP_READ interest once the connection is complete.
This doesn't fix all the other problems this code will have,
eg.
- what happens if a write is incomplete?
- why does my code loop if I add OP_WRITE interest?
- why does my interestOps or register method block?

If I have more then a few tabs open such as gmail, facebook, and a zynga game no tabs will load at all. I close and reopen firefox numorous (Im talking 7 or 8 times or many more) and shut down the zynga game and still it wont load the tabs or if it does and I then try to add the game or any other site at all on a tab it causes firefox to stop working (though not close) and I have to restart opening and closing it many times to get it to work at all.

Search help for a field using a selection method which has a text table.
Hello all,
I am trying to create a search help for one of the fields in a structure say RFCDEST. Now for this i am giving the selection method as the DB table where all the RFCDEST are maintained. However there is a text table which is also comes up for this selection method and the description of the filed RFCDEST is in that text table and the description is not stored in the main table which i specified as the selection method.
My query is that on F4 now all the rfc destinations are being shown however the description i am not able to show them because there is no field in the table specified in the selectionmethod which hold s the description but instead it is there in the text table, how can i fetch the description from there and display in the search help.

I used to have eight genius mixes and now I have four...I changed the genres around and nothing happened...I've added many more songs since it changed from 8 to 4 mixes...how can I get more again and why did it go from 8 to 4? I had the Hardcore mix and a rap mix and classic rock and grunge mixes...now I don't...I kinda want those back...the mixes I have now make no sense as most the songs on each do not correlate AT ALL to the genre mix they have been placed in. If someone could give me an answer that'd be great.
1. Don't confuse "Apple ID" with iTunes Account ID. You can have many Apple IDs but only one iTunes account active at a time.
2. If you "changed" your iTunes account ID, you actually have 2 accounts - one under the old name plus the new name.
3. You can't merge the accounts - they remain separate. Apps purcahsed under the old account name will update ONLY WHEN THE PHONE IS SIGNED IN TO THE OLD ACCOUNT NAME and visa versa.
4. Likewise, you can sync only the apps, music, media purchased under the account the phone AND iTunes are signed in to. -
Query in MSS does not reflect selection on period
Hi group,
I have made a query in global area. In MSS I am calling the generated program from the query. This works fine. However, the selection on period in MSS does not reflect on the report. No matter what I choose, the report gives me the date period that I have set up in my variant in the background.
The selection screen for the report is the standard delivered with LDB PNPCE.
I have tried different date setup in my variant, but no matter what I do, I am not able to choose dynamically period from MSS.
Any help is appreciated
