Here are my problems:
Whenever I open a pdf file, it shuts itself down in 5 seconds. When I try to print a Word document that contains a drawing, I get a message that says "Adobe PDF creation cannot continue because Acrobat is not activated."
When I try to update Acrobat.com, I get a message that says "Mandatory Update available, Installed version: 2.0.0.0 Update Version: 2.3.0.0." When I say Download Now, it says: "An ERROR occured trying to install."
I installed your ASA. When I ran it, it says I have no issues.
Can someone call me (Steve) at <phone number removed by mod - kglad>. I need someone to remote desktop to my PC and fix my problems.

you should probably uninstall acrobat, clean your installing and then reinstall, http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Since you were sent here I really hate to not try to help, but this is the Acrobat forum, not the Acrobat.com forum. Not sure where you were before. The Acrobat.com forum is at http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobatdotcom and as TSN says, the related software may no longer be supported (actually he said obsolete). With Acrobat, you try to open Acrobat and would normally get an activation screen if not yet activated. Not sure what happens with Acrobat.com. When you have problems such as you have, the first step is to go directly to the software and see if it works. With Acrobat, you can do repairs from the Start>Control Panel>Programs & Features page. All I can do is suggest what is available in Acrobat, not Acrobat.com.
Keep in mind the forums are not support pages maintained by Adobe, but are user-to-user pages where folks try to help each other. As a result, getting the correct forum is important. Sorry that we may not be able to help more. Some may drop by that are familiar with Acrobat.com, but in the meantime you may want to try that forum.

Hi Experts,
This is a bit of a pain I have to distrubte
Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1 to about 3000+ users and I am having a problem,
In Prefs in "Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1"
When I tick then untick, "display in PDF Browser" from the Preferences, My Outlook will fail to convert to PDF. I get an "Item failed to convert" message and a log file. Also Word 2003 will not post a .PDF to an email.
If I restart "Outlook 2003" it will create a "pdf" when I click the icon the first time, the second time I click it will fail.
Please help.

We also deployed 8.12 to over 1000 users with the "Disable PDF in browser" option checked using the customization wizard. Now we're finding some users need it to view certain PDFs in a web-based application.
We would like to add the option, but removing the registry key doesn't actually install the option when you check it. It seems you might have to create a new mst then redeploy. We'd really like to not have to do that, if at all possible.
In the Reader archives, one guy suggested running this:
msiexec /i Adobe_Reader_8.1_MUI.msi ADDLOCAL=ReaderBrowserIntegration
I haven't tried that yet. Any feedback or other suggestions?

Acrobat X and XI will not print many pdf documents.

Acrobat X and XI will not print many pdf documents. When I click Print, the document fades and I get a dialog box that says "Adobe Acrobat has Stopped Working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I was experiencing this with Acrobat X so I upgraded to XI, but the problem is exactly the same. I am using Windows 7 Professional operating system.

How do we know how many PDFs are generated?

Hello All-
We have created an Application ID with enough credentials on it to call the Adobe Services and our developers are using WebServices to call the Form Server in their code with that particular App Id and Generate the PDFs and what we really want to know is if there is any setting in the Adminui or in the code where we can set that and see how many PDFs are being generated for a period of time from that particular App Id? We are not using PDFGen component.
we are using Adobe LiveCycle 8.0.1 SP3, WebSphere 6.1 and DB2 8.2 database.
It will be great if someone can tell me if they did this before.

On the old discussion software, they had distinctive avatars and identifiers under the avatars. They could have adopted distinctive avatars with the new forum software but they didn't. The reason that they didn't, I assume, is because the new software allows secondary icons to identify users. Every level had its own icon, the Hosts had their own icon, and Apple employees had theirs. This identification system was temporarily disabled along with the rest of the levels and reputations because of the performance hit that was being caused. It may come back if they can fix the performance problems.
Until then, Hosts and Apple employees have been using text signatures, such as "Apple Discussions Host" to identify themselves. There may be Apple employees who have not gotten the word about the text signatures.
BTW, to see what I mean by the identification icons, look at how Jive has implemented this feature on their own support forums. On this forum page, look to the right in the box labeled "Legend".

Post Invoice for Service Entry with many Service line item-MM-LIV

Dear All,
I have a problem to post Invoice for Service Entry with many Service line item. The problem is as follow:
I have created 1 Service Entry which has 5 Service line item in it. Three of the service line item are subject to Value Added Tax (VAT), the others aren't. Then, i wanted to post Invoice for the Service Entry, however, it just display 1 item which amount in total. How can i segregate each service line item in Service Entry thus i can post Invoice for all Service line item with subject to VAT and all service item with not subject to VAT, if just 1 Service Entry created for it ?

If you mark the 'service based invoice verification' checkbox in your PO item, your service items will be in your invoice as seperate invoice lines. Then you can modify the taxcodes on service item level.

Many small problems in Mavericks

When user experience many small problem in daily work, I feel the design is failed.
Memory management has a lot of problem, I feel my macbook is abnormal slow after I upgraded to Mavericks. Sometime, I need to wait for several sec to get what I want.
I think this problem is extreme important for OS.
When I want to start a probelm, click once, no response, click twice, pop-up 2 times after 5 sec.
Then i change my way of work, clock one time, work on other task. 5 sec later, multi desktop switch the desktop to the starting program. Then, I don't know what I was doing.
Another is sound problem, sound doesn't work sometime and need some kind of procedure to get it back.
Please don't ask me do something to solve the problem everytime when it happen. It is OS task to work it properly.
Whatever how many great feature you added is meaningless if user daily experience is bad.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign ($) or a percent sign (%). If you get the percent sign, enter
exec bash
in the window and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
8. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If it happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Many pdf files change to beginning page?

I have a many pdf files and different start page number, would it use a javascript or 'open action' change all initial view to beginning page?

Maybe the problem is solved, or avoidable. I've been checking the appearance of the webpage using the "Visit site now" option after publishing the page using iWeb. When I view the page from the actual site using a browser, the gibberish document is not gibberish. The gibberish problem is only when viewed in the "Visit site now" option. Guess I won't rely on that feature in the future.

Photoshop Menu Problems (items show blue bar)

Hi I'm running the latest version of Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1
I notice in my Photoshop when I access several of the different fly down menus at the top many of the items are randomly highlighted a light blue.
Is there some way to fix this problem.

Probably seemed like a good idea to the Adobe engineers marketing when they first dreamed it up but it seems to have confused many users over the years.

Preview PDF problems (Pages too)

On my shiny new MBP 15" Retina, when I look at many PDFs and scroll the fonts get smudged (for lack of a better word). This is really annoying, and the only way to fix it is to scroll that text past the top and then back so it gets redrawn. It seems like an arithmetic problem in the font arithmetic. I thought it was just a problem with PDF, but I see it in Pages too when writing letters (I use LaTeX for work, Pages for letters). It appears worse the smaller the font, and seems related to smooth scrolling, hence my belief it is just an arithmetic problem.
Look at the top of the second line of text in the attached image. It is is not the most egregious example, but a convenient one. When it happens in the middle of a line of text it becomes completely unreadable.
So, Apple, the Retina is awesome. But PLEASE put some effort into the code so that these rough edges go away. The reason I buy Apple is I expect stuff to work right. I'm paying a premium for quality, not because I am some hipster who buys Apple for the same reason be drinks PBR.

It doesn't really matter what desktop programme you use for reading PDFs, it gets distorted everywhere. I mostly read on Preview, but tried others as well, and they produce the same issue (except when reading PDF in Safari, or Chrome, then its fine).
Do you think if it's an arithmetic problem it can be fixed by a software update? Or is it something we'll have to get used to and live with, from now on?
I didn't have time to visit the Apple Store so far to ask them, but I'll definitely do so.
Maybe it's just a problem with our particular Macs, and not with all RMBPs?

What can be the cause of dots, where underground otherwise white appearance with small black dots.
They do not come with the pressure. but is rather confusing.

You're asking a lot of ancient Acrobat to work with an Office that never existed when it was made. "Just updated my office suite" is a massive change, and Window 8 didn't exist at that time either...

PDF problem part 2...

I guess a lot of people are having pdf problems.
When I export a pdf of a Travel Journal doc and view with adobe reader 7.0, the borders on the photos are not there.
What is the word on this?
As you can see I don't have Tiger /PDF-X.

Not certain if this is quite the same thing, but.......
I have found problems when exporting to pdf, not when I open in Preview but when the person I am emailing the file to opens it in Acrobat, as all drop shadows are then lost, this makes professional printing difficult.
Resolved it for the moment by:
1. exporting to pdf as normal
2. using Graphic Converter which comes bundled with OSX to create a PSD file and sending that electronically. Slight problem was that the size of the file increased from 3mb to about 27mb, so had to download a free copy of Cyberduck ftp programme too. In fact saving it to jpeg was just about as good.
3. you do have to do one page at a time but it works.

I receive many pdf from many enterprises differents.
All the PDF are ok (I can view each of them).
I've Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard and when i wan to choose some of them to make one, i can't.
No errors but no Pdf ...
I've to convert all the pdf abs when all files pdf have the same PDF version, It Ok.
Other version of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard can it help me to take in charge all versions of adobe ?

Display of many PDF documents in webdynpro

Hi dear SAP experts,
I want to display a huge number of one-sided existing pdf documents (100) in a browser using webdynpro for ABAP. The pdf documents exist either in MIME repository or fixed destination on a server. The documents are all delivered successfully inside the program logic as a table of pdfdate (xstring). Then each of them is displayed in a webdynpro view in Webdynpro Interactive Form. The display in Internet Explorer 6 workes fine for the first 30 documents, but then I get an error message from the browser "The maximum number of PDF-Documents to be opened simultaniously in the browser is exceeded!".
Is it possible to set the maximum number of pdf documents to a higher number? Is this a SAP / webdynpro issue or can this be configured in the adobe reader (8.0) configuration?
Is there any way to combine all the pdf documents into one single pdf document? I get all pdfs in xstring format! This is also desired by our customer.
Can you give me some hints?

thanks for your reply.
My customer needs both printing and displaying the files, but printing is definitly the more important part. Is it possible to push a PDF file (that has been read from a server destination into SAP as Xstring (binary)) to a printer defined in SAP? Can you tell me how a open a spool request and insert the data (XSTRING) of the PDF file?
I'll try out the link you send me for displaying many PDF files on one webpage.
