Many .sda files &Encryption Seeburger,EDI
HI,
do we need to create many .sda files if we want to do mapping for different partners ,if the each vendor EDI documents is different?and do we need to deploy each sda file that who have created for each partner?
and how can we achieve encryption and decryptoin seeburger adapters?
Babu
Hi Babu,
You have to create only one SDA file for all the EDI maps, every time you have to add some new maps, for new trade Partners then you have to take the existing Project in BIC mapping designer tool, add new messages and maps in that, create new SDA (Name of the SDA will always remain same). And deploy it to the J2ee with SDM, it will over write the current SDA.
For encryption you have to set the parameters in BIC spoke unit(on Trade Partners sdie) and also in AS2 sender/ receiver adapter

Many .sda files required,EDI,Seeburger?
hi,
do we need to create .sda files using Seeburger BIC Mapper for each mapping and deploy each <b>.sda</b> file on to XI server using SDM?Hi Babu,
Let me tell you the step by step process of SDA creation and deployment.
1) Go to BIC Mapping designer tool
2) Create the maps of needed documents(For example if we know that we will be needed EDI 850, 810,855 etc transactions then we need to add E2X(EDI To XML) and X2E (XML to EDI maps in a project
3) Select that project folder
4)Right click on it
5)Create deployment (SDA) file.
6)Default name of the created SDA file is "Mapping_User.sda"
7)Deploy this .sda in to the J2EE side of XI server using SDM.
Now if you anticipate that you have to add some aditional EDI maps for transtions other then the one covered in the earlier SDA file ::
1) Add the new maps in the old project.
2) Create the new SDA file
3) Again name of the created SDA file is "Mapping_User.sda"
4) deploy this new SDA file.
5) It will over write the existing "Mapping_User.sda" .
Hope i have answered your question
Let me know if you need any further clarifications.

Seeburger .SDA file deployment
Hi Experts,
I developed Seeburger edi mapping X2E in seeburger and created a .sda file and now want to deploy in XI sever..but there is already some standard mappings deployed. I can see some files like seeburger/mapping_user and mapping_user00. So now how I can proceed further.I also want to take back up of old mappings....so if any problem happens there i can deploy the old .sda file again...please suggest if someone has worked on this asap...

NKumar
Edited by: NKumar1 on Jul 12, 2011 7:20 PMHi
Check that your connection hostname, port & pwd is correct. Try with admin pwd.
In SDM, SDM Repository page, after selecting the file, the same page select third option (i.e update deployed SCA/SDA that have any versions)
Hope it helps you

Seeburger EDI conversion Vs XI Conversion Agent EDI conversion?
We have implemented Seeburger's EDI solution at a client, and our another client wants to an EDI solution for them.
I cam across this weblog, and it is very interesting. I have some questions.
1. Does Converstion Agent support the converstion of all versions of native EDI X12 and EDIFACT to the corresponding XML verions, and vice versa.
2. What are the differences between Seeburger's and XI Conversion Agent's EDI soultions?
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
KarmaHi Karma,
SAP Conversion Agent by Itemfield is a data conversion system that enables you to create interfaces between any data formats and XML-based systems. The Conversion Agent can convert unstructured, semi-structured, and structured formats to XML, and the other way around.
Have a look at these links:
/people/william.li/blog/2006/03/17/how-to-get-started-using-conversion-agent-from-itemfield

Seeburger EDI Adapter provides an EDI solution on internet via HTTP or AS2 to replace the expensive VAN. It provides some pre-built mappings for IDOC to ANSI X12(810,850,855,856 etc.,) and Idoc to EDIFACT(ORDERS,DESADV,INVOIC etc.,) and has the ability to build your own. These pre-defined mappings transform the IDOC-XML to EDI-XML format.
These transformed EDI-XML messages are then converted to EDI specific format using the Seeburger's BIC(Business Integration Converter)adapter. In addition, Seeburger provides adapters like AS2,FTP(EDI specific) and so on to route these EDI messages to external EDI Partners.
For more i would suggest you to go through these links:
http://www.seeburger.it/fileadmin/it/pdf/2005_04_sapphire_Ferrero_transcript.pdf

http://www.seeburger.com/fileadmin/com/pdf/AS2_General_Overview.pdf
Seeburger EDI Adapter leverages SAP XI's Adapter Framework. This Adapter is used to perform conversion between EDI and XML format. It also provides some canned EDI layouts and the ability to build your own. It is used to transfer the EDI message via HTTP or AS2 protocols.
The most direct way of using the Seeburger adapters is to configure the BIC as a module. There is a software component from seeburger called bicmapper which will allow you to do the following:
1. define or import the inbound message metadefinition in various formats ( edifact, xml,...)
2. using a mapping create an xml variant as the output metadefinition or edifact in the other direction.
3. create a one to one mapping between input en output.
4. export the metadata in xsd or sda format for import in XI.
5. generate an SDA which can be deployed in XI and used as a module.
Please go through the following links which clearly explains what you want and it also helps you in understanding the same in depth:

There are also a few ways to use EDI with the ALE system of R3.
inbound EDI to R3
1.use a 3rd party adapter for the EDI protocol(eg.SEEBURDER) from the EDI system, send the produced XML to the XI ,map the xml message to a matching IDoc using the IDoc adapter.
outbound ALE message from R3 to EDI system
1. Configure the ALE system to point to the XI the relevant IDoc (SM59,WE21,WE20...)
2.use a file adapter3rd party EDI adapter and map the fields to the target structure.
have a look at this example:
http://www.ean.se/EANCOM%202000/iftmin/example.htm
Details on how to configure can be found on SDN
I hope this helps....

Get the BICMD file from SDA file
Hi Experts,
When we want to deploy the seeburger mappings from the Mapping Designer, we will generate the SDA file from BICMD file.
Is there any way, to regenerate the BICMD file from the SDA file?
Please help.
Regards,
Ravi Kanth TalaganaHi Ravi,
Certain options :
1)
Mappings that are generated from BIC MD is used to create XML/EDI Files corresponding to the mapping that u r going to used.U can also modify standard mappings by making a new project in BIC MD.After this, this BIC MD creates SDA files which u have to deploy on the SAP XI server using SDM.Then u can these mappings in ur XI system.
2)
on Seeburger installation CD you can find in Release_SeeXI_1.._(SAPXI_3.0_SP..\SAP\CD-<yuor solution>\data\AdapterBIC\deploy a file called Mappings_sys.sda. This is library with Seeburger standard Mappings delivered with adapters. You need to deploy this file (Mappings_sys.sda) with SDM and then you can use those mappings in XI. Names of the contained mappings you can find in Release_SeeXI_1.._(SAPXI_3.0_SP..\SAP\CD-<your solution>\data\ SAPXI_ContentGuide_<your solution>_en.pdf. For test purpose you can use this project but if you need some additional mappings you have to install BIC MD, create your new mappings and generate new sda file (Mappings_user.sda). At any time its allowed to use only 1 Mappings_user.sda and 1 Mappings_sys.sda. So every new deployed Mappings_user.sda overwrites previous one. Mappings_sys.sda is deployed only by the initial installation.

Seeburger EDI Adapter Deployment Error: Cannot register EarLoader
Hello,
we currently have updated our SAP Netweaver Development Environment 2004s to SP20. This installation runs on IBM iSeries.
We also have to deploy a Seeburger EDI Adapter (Version 1.8) but we faced following error in the deployment:

We've deployed not only with the JSPM but also with developer Studio. (The SDM-Tool has a big problem after upgrating to SP20 - SAP knows the error and with the next SP this will be fixed. So this tool cannot be used!)
First of all, I think it is very useful for us to know what is the EarLoader but unfortunately we can't find any information on the sap help, documentation or here in the SDN. Neither on the Web .....
Could someone explain the issue to me, please?
Thanks in advance.
Christian SperlichHi,
1)Can you check your class path, whether it is configured correctly
2)Check whether you have included the latest class file while importing
3)Check whether you have activated the objects after you have made changes are imported

Which is better File transfer or EDI transfer
Hi All,
I have a scenario where the the vendor has tto send the post receivable data to our company. Now they say they can either provide us a file or EDI transfer. They have put the ball in our court to decide and tell them how they should be sending data to us.
Now we have to look into pros and cons of using file transfer or EDI.
COuld you please put some lght on which might be better and why?
XIerHey
do u guys already have the infrastructure to handle EDI? i mean have u installed SeeBurger or some other tool to handle EDI messages? if not then for EDI you need to have some kind of tool until and unless you guys have some ways to handle EDI.
File is kinda simple ,you can simply get XML file via HTTP or the outside party can FTP it to certain location and you can pick it up from there.
if u already have SeeBurger or any other way to handle EDI then you can go for EDI,but File will be a lot simpler in mapping as well as design and configurations and you wont need any extra set up it
thanx

APsorry i can explain well the issue
for our experience
LDAP access causes the opening a lot of file descriptor?
The LDAP proves ist still running and is still opening files. Meanwhile, because of the SSL communication with application, some files are Created in the CACERTS directory
Suddenly, the OS has reached its file descriptor limit: an error message Too many open files appears
Question: the situation is : that files cannot be closed in the CACERT director, because the OS has not more file descriptors (because the ldap process has used all file descriptors to the limit)?
is related on LDAP this problem?
thank you for your kindness guys!

Very slow Backup (Many little file in many subdirectories)
- I have a Netware 6.5 SP8 server with the post SP8 NSS patch installed (NSS version 3.27.01 April 7, 2009)
- iSCSI Initiator Version 1.06.05 October 30, 2008 connecting a 410 GB NSS Volume (Lefthand Networks iSCSI SAN)
- the volume contains user data, and contains, from the Root, a USERDATA directory, which then contains 32,749 individual user directories.
- The majority (90%) of the user directories are empty
- each user directory has it's own trustee assignment, and space restrictions
- compression is enabled
- 376,269 Files using 45,556,460,661 bytes in 221,439 directories so the average would be around 121K per file and as you can see it's very Directory intensive
TSATEST, indicates approximately 850 MB/min result, but when I attempt to back up the data using my backup software (NetVault, which uses NDMP), the performance is hideous. A Full Backup runs around 135k/sec or 8 MB/min (try getting that done in any size backup window) . I have also tried other backup solutions, with the same basic result.
I assume the issue is with indexing, but I'm not sure what to check at this point. I've been trying every suggestion I could find. I've gotten the throughput up to about 1.5M/s, but obviously need better. Just wanted to know if anyone here had any suggestions that might help me to make this function more efficiently, or any TID's that have proven helpful.

I have seen this in Java development shops with millions of 1kb files
and folders. The nature of Java.
- Use tar or zip on the local server, not across the wire to compress
those types of data folders.
- Exclude those folders from backup
- Then backup only the zip or tar files.
or maybe look into rsync as I think is copies by hardware blocks not
files?????
- maybe need toreview your environment if it is a development shop like
Java.Maybe switch to GPFS or Reiser for many small files if you can, EXT
could handle it for your small amount of data though. -
